Cleveland Cavaliers @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

From the Cavs, Darius Garland and Collin Sexton are a solid duo in this backcourt but neither has had elite production so far this year. The price tags are down relative to where they were last year and to start the season, so if you want to take a shot in GPPs you can, but I’ll likely be underweight in all aspects especially as we have a 9 game slate here and have much better options. Ricky Rubio slid back to the bench with Garland back and lost some of those starter’s minutes, and at this price tag probably not a guy I’ll get to on a big slate, but can go parabolic from time to time so I get it if you want to take a few shots in GPPs. Jarrett Allen hasn’t been great the last few games but this CHA team doesn’t rebound so he could see a boost there. Evan Mobley is the guy I’m going to keep looking toward in this frontcourt. The rookie has looked more than legit to start the season and feels like there is still some meat on the bone at his current price tag. Lastly, Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love are more of GPP type plays for me with Markkanen being closer to the cash game fringe due to his production and minutes security early on this season.

The Hornets have been a tough team to predict so far this year, but they get a good matchup here on the 2nd half of their B2B as Cleveland is not a good defensive team either. The Hornets did get Terry Rozier back after he missed a few games, and LaMelo Ball already looks like he’s taken a huge leap forward in his second year in the NBA. Rozier had a solid game last night but him being back limits Ball’s ceiling. I like both Gordon Hayward and Miles Bridges here as they’ll both play north of 30 minutes and this Cavs team is not good on the perimeter. P.J. Washington and Kelly Oubre also have played heavy minutes off the bench, but really the guy I want to target here is going to be LaMelo as this should be one of the fastest paced games on the night.

5-star play: None

4-star play: LaMelo Ball, Darius Garland, Collin Sexton, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, Evan Mobley

Deeper Value: Kelly Oubre, PJ Washington, Lauri Markkanen

GPP Sleeper: Miles Bridges

San Antonio Spurs @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Spurs, my favorite play here is going to be Derrick White, as this Pacers frontcourt is not good defensively as they’ve been allowing a ton of FPs to opposing PGs so far this year. Dejounte Murray is also in a fine spot, but you have to pay up more for him here but he should be worth it. Keldon Johnson looks like he’s taken a nice step forward as well, but he can be a bit scoring dependent at times and he has a tougher matchup on his plate tonight the Pacers frontcourt. Jakob Poeltl will also need to play big minutes here, as he’s really the only guy they have that can stop Sabonis downlow, but he’s been prone to foul trouble so far this year, so if you want to get really deep you can take a shot on Drew Eubanks as well. Bryn Forbes has also been seeing some decent minutes and he could be a factor for value in this one as well.

For the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis has looked great to start the season with at least 40 fantasy points in each game, it’s a slower-paced game in this one but he’s matchup proof at this point. Malcolm Brogdon had his worst fantasy game of the season last time out but still didn’t kill you, I don’t love the matchup at this price tag but still, a guy that I think you need to at least consider as a secondary tournament option, however, he did miss the last 2 games so that is something to monitor again here tonight, if he were to miss again its a major boost for some of these other guys. The Myles Turner experience is a fun one, isn’t it? 64 fantasy points one game, then a combined 24 over his past two games. He’s the ultimate tournament guy as usual. Lastly, Caris LeVert returned last game, but he is likely going to be limited for the next few weeks as he works his way back and Chris Duarte stayed in with the starters even with him back last game. If Brogdon misses again you can go back to T.J. McConnell as well although he isn’t exactly cheap on either site.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Dejounte Murray

4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon (if in), Derrick White, Keldon Johnson, Jakob Poeltl

Deeper Value: T.J. McConnell, Myles Turner, Caris LeVert (if word on increased minutes)

GPP Sleeper: Myles Turner, Keldon Johnson

Portland Trailblazers @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Trailblazers, they have been off to a sort of rough start to the season, but it looked like Damian Lillard finally started to get it going last game so I’m not too worried here, he’s an elite play again here tonight. CJ McCollum has also been fantastic, but my rule is to never pair the two as they seldom both go off in the same game. Robert Covington was a big disappointment last night after being dirt cheap on both sites, he’s gonna be volatile if his shot isn’t falling moving forward. Jusuf Nurkic is in for a tough matchup here against Embiid, but he’s reasonably priced on both sites for the production we’ve been getting. Lastly, I could take a few shots on Anfernee Simons as he is the engine that makes that 2nd unit go and if Dame has another down game he should see more run.

The big news will hinge on the health of Joel Embiid as he comes in with a Q tag again. However, he had the Q tag in the past four games and played in all of them, but it is still something to monitor. If he is out, then this’ll be the Tobias Harris show as Simmons is out again as well, and I’ll have increased shares of Tyrese Maxey and Seth Curry as well as both have been playing north of 35 minutes. Both guys have been playing well and are reasonably priced on both sites. Andre Drummond is also a GTD as well here, so if him and Embiid are both out here then you can fire up Georges Niang as he’ll be one of the few big men that the Sixers have left and he did play 20 minutes off the bench last game with Drummond out. Furkan Korkmaz has also been solid off the bench if you are looking to get different. Overall I’m not going to be targeting this Sixers team too heavily.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard

4-star play: Jusuf Nurkic, CJ McCollum, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey

Deeper Value: Robert Covington, Anfernee Simons, Andre Drummond, Seth Curry

GPP Sleeper: Georges Niang, Anfernee Simons

Washington Wizards @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Atl -5.5

Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal is an elite scorer and this is exactly the type of game environment that he thrives in, I’ll likely be all over him tonight as this should be one of, if not the highest paced game on the slate. Spencer Dinwiddie has also looked very good so far this year, and at his price I think it is actually ok to pair them. Kyle Kuzma has started the season looking great for this Wizards team, he did come down a little bit last time out but I like targeting wings and big men against the Hawks, so I don’t hate him as a secondary GPP option. Montrezl Harrell and Daniel Gafford continue to share this frontcourt which is going to be frustrating from a DFS perspective, on a big slate I don’t think we need to go with either of them. However, if Gafford is out again then Trez will likely be a core play.

Now for the Hawks, Trae Young has looked elite so far this year, and gets another great matchup here as the Wizards don’t play defense and push the pace, I’ll be ping ponging him with Beal in a few lineups. Bogdan Bogdanovic has also been solid to start the year, but he’s a bit pricey on both sites for the production that we’ve been getting. John Collins is also a really nice mid-range play, but his upside is gonna be a bit limited as long as Clint Capela is healthy, but he has looked fantastic so far this year. De’Andre Hunter returned the last few games as well, he’s a solid value as he was a beast when healthy last year. Him being back does hurt both Cam Reddish and Kevin Huerter but I’d be ok taking a few shots on them in GPPs.

5-star play: Bradley Beal, Trae Young

4-star play: Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Clint Capela, John Collins

Deeper Value: De’Andre Hunter, Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter, Daniel Gafford

GPP Sleeper: John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic

Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

The Bulls finally went down the other night, but are still off to a hot 5-1 start, and they just had a big win at home against the Jazz while the Celtics have been struggling. They’ve been led by Zach LaVine but he had an injury 3 games ago, but it is his non-shooting hand so not too much worry there. Nikola Vucevic has been his elite self as usual, and gets a solid matchup against Horford and Robert Williams here as the C’s are still soft inside. Lonzo Ball has some nice upside but the consistency hasn’t been there per usual. Patrick Williams went down a few games ago as well, They started Jevonte Green in his place last game and if they do so again he’d be a solid value play. DeMar Derozan is also a solid option, but with a crowded Bulls backcourt he’s not a guy I’m seeking out. Lastly, Alex Caruso is a guy you can take shots on in GPPs at his price point.

From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown has been very up and down this year and he is still highly priced on FanDuel and he hasn’t been playing well these past few games, including getting called out by his coach a few days ago for not hustling. If you’re going to get exposure to him, I would avoid it on FanDuel. Jayson Tatum looked good in that game against the Hornets as well which turned out to be a shootout. I just don’t know that I can stomach that price tag on a nine-game slate with other stars around his price range especially with the Celtics at full strength. I’ll continue to get to Robert Williams just because he’s a point-per-minute monster and this is a great matchup for him and all big men alike. You can throw Al Horford into that category. He has looked fantastic in games he’s played this year but they are monitoring his minutes early this season. Then you can round this team out with secondary GPP options in Marcus Smart and Dennis Schroeder.

5-star play: Zach LaVine

4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball, DeMar Derozan

Deeper Value: Jevonte Green, Alex Caruso, Marcus Smart, Dennis Schroeder

GPP Sleeper: Al Horford, Jevonte Green

Toronto Raptors @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 211

Vegas Spread: Nyk -6.5

From the Raptors, Scottie Barnes is still underpriced on both sites, the consistency is going to be an issue as he is a rookie, but that ceiling is too good to pass up as long as Siakam is out. He’s still going to play 30+ minutes here and a guy I don’t mind for GPPs in a great matchup. OG Anunoby has looked great over his last couple of games and will look to keep it going at a nice price tag here, he’s a really strong play in all formats, however the price has started to come up a bit. Fred VanVleet has been really good so far this year, and they’re gonna need him to get them going as this Knicks team is legit. Lastly, Precious Achiuwa has at least 25 minutes in his last three games and has looked good in those minutes, I have no issue going back to him here at what seems like too cheap of a price tag still even in a tougher matchup.

For the Knicks, they look very legit so far this year, led by their All-Star Julius Randle. He is a premier play here today, and he gets a great matchup here going up against this inexperienced Raptor front court, I’m expecting a big game out of him here tonight. Evan Fournier has also been a great addition and R.J. Barrett has been great as well, going for 35+ actual points last game and he’s looking like he’s starting to take that superstar role as well. Mitchell Robinson should also see solid minutes here as the Knicks still have a few injuries in their front court and he’s pretty cheap on both sites. If you’re looking for guys coming off the bench, Derrick Rose is one of the best in the business, and Obi Toppin has been showing why he was drafted early last year as well.

5-star play: Julius Randle

4-star play: R.J. Barrett, Evan Fournier, Scottie Barnes, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby

Deeper Value: Precious Achiuwa, Obi Toppin, Derrick Rose, Mitchell Robinson

GPP Sleeper: Precious Achiuwa, R.J. Barrett

Denver Nuggets @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 216

Vegas Spread: Mem -1.5

From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is gonna be the premier play here, as I see him and Adams banging it out down low all game long. He’s a great play again here tonight with triple-double upside. Michael Porter Jr. looked pretty good last time out but still hasn’t found his shooting stroke, he’s on the verge of having a massive game, and think this could be the spot as this game should be fast paced with lots of shots being thrown up. The rest of this team is just tournament options for me with guys like Aaron Gordon and Will Barton but would change if Jokic were to get ruled out. Overall, it’s mostly Jokic or bust here at this point in the season with some shares of Porter incase he goes nuclear.

The Grizzlies are finally home after a brutal west coast trip where they played fantastic, this is a young team that looks to be on the rise this year. The main target here is gonna be Ja Morant as he’s been elite so far this year, and looks to be making that jump to superstar, he gets a great matchup here tonight against Morris and is coming off a down game. Jaren Jackson Jr. also has all the upside in the world but doesn’t always put it together, but he’s always in play for GPPs. Steven Adams should have a solid game here as well as he’ll have to bang down low with Jokic all night. Desmond Bane and De’Anthony Melton are also both great plays again here, as they play big minutes and DraftKings refuses to raise their prices for whatever reason. That’s about all I want from this Grizzlies team tonight.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Ja Morant

4-star play: Michael Porter Jr., Jaren Jackson, Steven Adams, Desmond Bane, De’Anthony Melton

Deeper Value: Aaron Gordon, Will Barton

GPP Sleeper: Michael Porter Jr.

Orlando Magic @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Min -9

From the Magic, Cole Anthony has been really good so far this year which has caused his price to shoot up. That said, It’s hard to ignore his production right now, I have no issue with him as a secondary option especially against this horrible Wolves defense. It seems as if the Magic are going to have Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. on the floor a lot together this year. Both guys are interesting here, as I love targeting big men against this Wolves frontcourt as well. I like Bamba’s fantasy production and upside a bit better, but both are in play again here. I’d go with Bamba on FanDuel with the blocks bonus and Carter Jr. on DK for the savings. Then the last guy I really have any interest in is Jalen Suggs, he’s going to keep playing solid minutes for this team, but you can throw Franz Wagner in with him as guys that will probably be seeing around 3o minutes and has a floor of around 20 FPs. Lastly, I do like the price tag on Terrence Ross for tournaments, but we know he can be very scoring dependent.

Now for the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has been fantastic so far this year, and gets another good matchup here tonight as the Magic frontcourt haven’t really stopped anyone this year. D’Angelo Russell was nearly impossible to get right as we got toward the back-end of the season last year and looks he’s gonna be extremely volatile once again this year. He’ll be a GPP only guy due to the high-paced game and inconsistencies. Anthony Edwards continues to see his price climb, but for good reason. He picked up right where he left off last season as one of the best young scorers in the league. I’m at the point with Malik Beasley where he’s is gonna be in play as a dart throw but nothing more. And if you want to get really different you can take a shot on Jaden McDaniels or Jarred Vanderbilt in that front court.

5-star play: Cole Anthony, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Anthony Edwards, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter, Jalen Suggs, D’Angelo Russell

Deeper Value: Malik Beasley, Jalen Suggs, Jaden McDaniels

GPP Sleeper: Anthony Edwards

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 212.5

Vegas Spread: Lac -11

From the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s price has been all over the place but he is pretty cheap here and going up against his old team. He’s a great play on both sites at this price tag with a great individual matchup as this Clipper defense is not what it used to be. we were all over Darius Bazley last week but he just hasn’t been getting the minutes for some reason, he’ll be strictly a GPP play moving forward for me due to his volatility. Josh Giddey continues to get it done in all areas, and he’s an exciting rookie to watch that stuffs the sheet almost like a young Jimmy Butler. The last guy I would have any sort of real interest in on a big slate is Lu Dort, he’s a GPP only guy due to his volatility as well, but we know he has a ceiling but it comes out once in a blue moon

Now for the Clippers, as long as Kawhi is out the main target is going to be Paul George as he has elite usage and 60+ upside especially in a game like this one if it stays close. Tyronn Lue hates Ivica Zubac for whatever reason, as the Clippers don’t really have another big but he refuses to play him more than 24 minutes a night despite elite fantasy production, he’ll be a GPP play for me here. Terance Mann has had his ups and downs coming off the bench, but at his price point he’s a nice value option especially in the hammer game where the spread is already at -11. Eric Bledsoe and Reggie Jackson are basically a coin flip at this point as well as to who is going to have the better game, but I don’t have a ton of interest in either tonight.

5-star play: Paul George

4-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Terance Mann, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Giddey

Deeper Value: Darius Bazley, Reggie Jackson, Lu Dort

GPP Sleeper: Josh Giddey
