New York Knicks @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: 223.5

Vegas Spread: Nyk -1.5

For the Knicks, they look very legit so far this year, led by their All-Star Julius Randle. He is a premier play here today, and he gets a great matchup here going up against a Charlotte front court that has been getting smashed by bigs so far this year, I’m expecting a big game out of him here tonight. Evan Fournier has also been a great addition and R.J. Barrett has been great as well, I prefer R.J. here as he is less scoring dependent. Mitchell Robinson should also see solid minutes here as the Knicks still have a few injuries in their front court and he’s pretty cheap on both sites. If you’re looking for guys coming off the bench, Derrick Rose is one of the best in the business, and Obi Toppin has been showing why he was drafted early last year as well.

The Hornets have been a tough team to predict so far this year, but they get a not so great matchup here though as the Knicks will slow down the pace of this game. The Hornets did get Terry Rozier back and he’s pretty cheap on FanDuel which is nice. LaMelo Ball already looks like he’s taken a huge leap forward in his second year in the NBA, both are very viable here tonight and should be low owned. I like both Gordon Hayward and Miles Bridges here as they’ll both play north of 30 minutes and this Knicks team is weaker on the perimeter. Kelly Oubre has GPP winning upside here, but the consistency isn’t there to make him anything other than a GPP option.

5-star play: Julius Randle, LaMelo Ball

4-star play: Evan Fourner, R.J. Barrett, Derrick Rose, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, Kelly Oubre, Miles Bridges

Deeper Value: Kelly Oubre, Obi Toppin

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Oubre

Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 213.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -2

From Milwaukee, Brook Lopez has already been ruled out here, but Jrue Holiday is back here and should see full run, he’s moderately priced on both sites which is nice as well. Giannis Antetokounmpo is also obviously in play here, but he is high priced and will need to do a lot to meet value. Bobby Portis’s role will increase here, as Khris Middleton has also already been ruled out due to Covid protocols and Jordan Nwora can’t possibly do any worse than he did last game. Portis has been starting as well and he’s still a solid price. Keep an eye on Breaking News Feed for updates. They obviously didn’t have guys like George Hill and Grayson Allen last season, both are in play here as they’ve both been solid values with some nice upside as well at low ownership on a big slate.

From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown has already been ruled out in this game with a hamstring injury so let’s take a look at how this breaks down for the Celtics:

  • Jayson Tatum – 37% usage rate and 1.43 FPPM
  • Marcus Smart – 20.2% usage and 0.93 FPPM
  • Robert Williams – 15.3% usage and 1.24 FPPM

Those are the guys that we have data for, with Tatum obviously being the biggest beneficiary. Al Horford is also a great play here as he’s been a beast on the boards the past few weeks and you could also see Grant Williams become viable if he starts in Brown’s place tonight. Dennis Schroder will also see a nice boost here as well. Josh Richardson has also been solid for value and should come in very low owned as well here tonight.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Al Horford, Robert Williams, Jrue Holiday, Bobby Portis

Deeper Value: Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson, George Hill, Grayson Allen

GPP Sleeper: Josh Richardson

Detroit Pistons @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 203

Vegas Spread: Cle -5

Starting with the Pistons, they’re pretty much just as terrible as they were last year, but Cade Cunningham is off his minutes restriction, the #1 overall pick is still a decent value but he has been inconsistent this year. Jerami Grant led the team with a 29% usage rate last season and will likely continue that, as he still thrives in this offense even with Cunningham back. Isaiah Stewart hasn’t been getting the PT I’ve expected this season, as the Pistons seem intent on playing Kelly Olynyk over him even though you’d think they’d want to develop a talented young big, however, Olynyk will be out the next 6 or so weeks so this is a major boost for Stewart whom I expect to be very low owned here tonight. Saddiq Bey but he is a guy who is streaky, if he is shooting well from 3 he can light it up at low ownership but his price is less than desirable on both sites.

From the Cavs, Darius Garland and Collin Sexton are a solid duo in this backcourt but neither has had elite production so far this year, but now that Sexton is out for an extended period we can see Garland thrive a bit here. Ricky Rubio will be the main beneficiary of Sexton being out, but his price did come up a bit on both sites so he is no longer the great value he was a few games ago. Jarrett Allen should also feast in this game as no one has been able to stop him and the Pistons are a bit undersized in their front court. Evan Mobley is the guy I’m going to keep looking toward in this frontcourt. The rookie has looked more than legit to start the season and feels like there is still some meat on the bone at his current price tag. With Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love both still out it makes both Allen and Mobley great plays. If you’re looking to get different, Dean Wade has also been starting but he is a very low usage guy.

5-star play: Jarrett Allen

4-star play: Darius Garland, Ricky Rubio, Evan Mobley, Jerami Grant, Cade Cunningham

Deeper Value: Dean Wade

GPP Sleeper: Evan Mobley, Saddiq Bey

Portland Trail Blazers @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: 223.5

Vegas Spread: Por -6

Starting with the Blazers, the obvious play here is going to be Damian Lillard as this Rockets team is statistically the worst defensive team in the NBA so far this season. CJ McCollum is also a fine play here, but I’m bigger on Dame in this one as he has the better matchup. Jusuf Nurkic has a great matchup here as well, as Christian Wood plays 0 defense. Norman Powell has also been shooting well, and they’ll need him again tonight as he should see plenty of open looks here. You can round out your cheaper GPP options on this Blazer team with guys like Robert Covington or Anfernee Simons as well especially if you think this game gets out of hand.

Now for the Rockets, Kevin Porter Jr. has been very up and down to start the year, but that is to be expected from a young guard, he draws a good matchup here but it is one he could take advantage of as Portland has been allowing a ton of FPPG to opposing guards. Christian Wood is a premier play as well here, as he has been going off at low ownership and that could happen again here tonight. Jalen Green is a guy I’ve been high on all season and has been a bit volatile, so probably more of a GPP guy, but in play nonetheless as he seems like a gamer who wants to show up when he is playing against other premier NBA teams. Maybe some Alpherun Sengun if you think this games gets ugly as he’ll get some blowout run, and he may even start here so keep an eye on that as well.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Christian Wood

4-star play: Kevin Porter, CJ McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic, Norman Powell

Deeper Value: Jalen Green, Anfernee Simons, Robert Covington

GPP Sleeper: Jalen Green

Phoenix Suns @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

From the Suns, they’re generally not a team that is fantasy friendly, and tonight should be the case again as I won’t be heavy on them at all. Devin Booker will be a GPP guy for me, as he hasn’t really has only had 1-2 ceiling games so far, but that will likely be the case as long as CP3 is healthy and taking all those assists he used to get. Chris Paul has had a few games over 50 FPs this season and he is my preferred option of the two and he draws the better matchup going up against Ja’s lack of defense. DeAndre Ayton is doubtful again in this game which opens up the door for Javale McGee has been a solid FPPM producer off the bench if you want to get deep, and Frank Kaminsky is coming off a career game in which he scored 31 actual points, he is the one you want to target if Ayton is indeed ruled out like we think he will be. Then you can round this team out with GPP darts in guys like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder if you really want to get frisky, of the two I would really only play Bridges as he has way more upside.

Now for the Grizzlies, they don’t have a ton of fantasy prospects here but they are a good young team on the rise. The main target here is gonna be Ja Morant as he’s been elite so far this year, and looks to be making that jump to superstar, however, he gets a tougher matchup here going up against CP3. Jaren Jackson Jr. also has all the upside in the world but doesn’t always put it together, but he’s always in play for GPPs especially with the Suns being short on bodies in their front court. Steven Adams should have a solid game here as well as he should be able to get whatever he wants here without Ayton to stop him. Desmond Bane and De’Anthony Melton are also both great plays again here, as they play big minutes and DraftKings refuses to raise their prices for whatever reason. That’s about all I want from this Grizzlies team tonight.

5-star play: Chris Paul

4-star play: Ja Morant, Devin Booker, Jaren Jackson Jr., Steven Adams

Deeper Value: Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Frank Kaminsky, Javale McGee, Desmond Bane

GPP Sleeper: Frank Kaminsky

Brooklyn Nets @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Nets, so far they’ve been a pretty easy team to predict, as Kevin Durant is gonna be the main guy there as long as he is in town. Kyrie has still not seen the floor which obviously also boosts the usage of James Harden, however, we have not seen a ceiling game from him so far this year, but the price continues to drop to where he is very playable. Both have favorable matchups here tonight. Outside of those main 2 guys it is a free for all, as Joe Harris plays solid minutes but doesn’t get a lot of usage, and LaMarcus Aldridge has decent games from time to time. Bruce Brown has also been starting, but he really needs Harden to be out to be viable. Overall from the Nets I think you target Durant and Harden and just move on.

From the Pelicans, Jonas Valanciunas have been front and center in this offense, and they’ll be relying on him heavily until Zion gets back. The price is way up on him but for good reason, he’s a solid play even at his new price on both sites as this Nets frontcourt is still terrible. Devonte’ Graham continues to look good as well and in a solid matchup here, especially if Brandon Ingram is out again, he has been fantastic with his new team and thriving in his role. With Zion off the court last season, Brandon Ingram was the guy you wanted, but he’s been out for the past week or so, and if he even does play I believe he will be limited so you can fade him either way. If Ingram is out again, then Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a guy I’ll go back to in this one as well, as he will probably jack up about 30 shots. If you’re looking to get really different, Herbert Jones has also been starting but not doing much, but he is playable with Ingram out, just not thrilled about it on a big slate.

5-star play: Kevin Durant, James Harden

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Devonte’ Graham, Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Deeper Value: LaMarcus Aldridge, Bruce Brown, Herbert Jones

GPP Sleeper: James Harden

Sacramento Kings @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Sac -4

Starting with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox hasn’t started the season all that great but that’s due to the insane amount of guards that this Kings team uses in their rotation. He’s gonna be a GPP only option from me going forward, but Haliburton has missed the past few games, so if he is out again then he is playable at his price especially on FanDuel. Then we get to the group of Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, and Tyrese Haliburton who are all solid secondary options, but none are really exciting with this crowded Kings backcourt, but if Haliburton is out again that is a nice boost to Hield. Barnes is going to be your most consistent and has started the season really well but his price reflects that here. Then, Richaun Holmes owns this frontcourt right now with Marvin Bagley essentially being out of Sacramento in the near future. If you’re looking for a cheap option on this team I would go down to rookie Davion Mitchell who has seen an increased role here, he is cheap and probably my favorite of the Sacramento guards from a value perspective especially if Haliburton were to miss again, and even more so if Terence Davis is out as well.

From the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s price has been all over the place but he is pretty cheap here, but the matchup is fantastic as the Kings play fast and loose without much defense so I think the floor is safe for him tonight. He’s a great play on both sites at this price tag with a great individual matchup. Darius Bazley has been up and down, but he’s been productive when given the minutes, but Giddey has been zapping some of his usage. Josh Giddey continues to get it done in all areas, and he’s an exciting rookie to watch that stuffs the sheet almost like a young Jimmy Butler but he is inconsistent, however I like his price tag on both sites here today. The last guy I would have any sort of real interest in on a big slate is Lu Dort, he’s a GPP only guy due to his volatility as well, but we know he has a ceiling but it comes out once every 10 games.

5-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, Josh Giddey

Deeper Value: Darius Bazley, Lu Dort, Richaun Holmes

GPP Sleeper: Davion Mitchell

Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Dal -2.5

Starting with the Mavericks, they are kind of in disarray right now, but the constant will be Luka Doncic, he has elite usage and should be able to get whatever he wants here tonight as this Spurs team has been horrible against guards for the past 3 years. Kristaps Porzingis is back here, but with how soft he is I’m going to likely be fading him every time I can unless he is in the 6Kish range. Dorian Finney-Smith could do well in a game environment like this, but the biggest piece I want here is Jalen Brunson as he has emerged as the clear #2 behind Luka and has been doing it all for this Mavericks offense. Tim Hardaway is in play for GPPs as well but he is very scoring dependent, so your options are pretty slim on this Mavericks team from a fantasy perspective.

Now for the Spurs, my favorite play here is going to be Derrick White, as this Dallas frontcourt is not good defensively as they’ve been allowing a ton of FPs to opposing PGs so far this year. Dejounte Murray is also in a fine spot, but you have to pay up more for him here but he should be worth it, if you can afford him tonight, do it, he should be low owned and could go for 50+ FPs in this spot. Keldon Johnson looks like he’s taken a nice step forward as well, but he can be a bit scoring dependent at times and he has a tougher matchup on his plate tonight as he is an undersized 4 and the one thing the Mavericks do have is some size. Jakob Poeltl looks like he’ll be out again here as well, so if you want to get really deep you can take a shot on Drew Eubanks as they’ll need his size tonight, but I’ll also have some shares of Thad Young as him and Eubanks have been splitting those Poeltl minutes.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, Dejounte Murray

4-star play: Jalen Brunson, Derrick White, Keldon Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis

Deeper Value: Drew Eubanks, Thad Young, Dorian Finney-Smith

GPP Sleeper: Dejounte Murray

Atlanta Hawks @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young has looked elite so far this year, he got off to a torrid start the other night, but he’s been matchup proof either way and tonight the matchup is fantastic again. Bogdan Bogdanovic has also been solid to start the year, and the price has come down a bit on FanDuel which is nice, however, he did miss last game so that is something to keep an eye on. John Collins is also a really nice mid-range play, but his upside is gonna be a bit limited as long as Clint Capela is healthy, but he has looked fantastic so far this year. Danilo Gallinari is a decent value play here as well, especially if De’Andre Hunter were to miss again like he did last game. Cam Reddish and Kevin Huerter would see the biggest boosts if Bogdanovic and Hunter are out again, with my preference being on Huerter

For the Nuggets, the story is gonna be pretty much the same here, Nikola Jokic is gonna dominate the ball here and get whatever he wants against this undersized Hawks frontcourt, and he should be nice and rested after serving his one game suspension the other night. Will Barton has also been very good so far this year and even gets additional minutes running the point with the 2nd unit. Michael Porter Jr. will be out for an extended period of time, which boosts Barton even more in this spot as well. Monte Morris and Aaron Gordon are also guys you can round your lineups out with if you need a cheaper option but neither have a very high ceiling. Lastly, Bones Hyland has also been playing very well off the bench, and with MPJ out that opens up a few more shots for him in this spot tonight as well.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Trae Young

4-star play: Clint Capela, John Collins, Will Barton

Deeper Value: Monte Morris, Bones Hyland, Aaron Gordon, Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter

GPP Sleeper: Bones Hyland, Kevin Huerter (if Hunter is out), Danilo Gallinari

Chicago Bulls @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Bulls, their leader has become Zach LaVine as he has been a model of consistency so far this year, he gets a solid matchup here and is very much in play as the Warriors don’t really play much defense. DeMar Derozan has also started to take over offensively as his usage is up big time from the past few games and the Warriors won’t have an answer for him tonight. Nikola Vucevic has also been solid, but he’s been ruled out with COVID here, so we’ll have some value open up in the form of either Tony Bradley or Alize Johnson, I’ll want the one who starts here tonight. Those are the main guys you’ll want here, but Alex Caruso always plays well against the Warriors as well, but you’re gonna want the value piece here in the Bulls frontcourt.

Now for the Warriors, Stephen Curry has been on an absolute tear to start this year, but Chicago has made some improvements on defense especially against guards. Jordan Poole has also stepped up big time here, but he is scoring dependent so he’s gonna be a GPP only play for me tonight. Kevon Looney also saw 29 minutes last game but with Vuc out with COVID I think it’ll be a downtick in those tonight. Draymond Green has also been playing very well, and he’s been fantastic especially at his price on FanDuel but he is a GTD here tonight as well. For value plays, Nemanja Bjelica and Gary Payton have been playing some solid minutes off the bench as well, I’d love Bjelica if Green misses this game.

5-star play: Stephen Curry, DeMar Derozan, Zach LaVine

4-star play: Jordan Poole, Draymond Green

Deeper Value: Alize Johnson, Tony Bradley, Alex Caruso, Nemanja Bjelica

GPP Sleeper: Alize Johnson, Tony Bradley

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Lal -3

Starting with the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has been fantastic so far this year, but he gets a tough matchup here tonight as the Lakers frontcourt that has been pretty dominant so far this year. D’Angelo Russell was nearly impossible to get right as we got toward the back-end of the season last year and looks he’s gonna be extremely volatile once again this year, however we have the revenge factor as he was essentially booted out of LA. Anthony Edwards continues to see his price climb, but for good reason. He picked up right where he left off last season as one of the best young scorers in the league and he hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down even with D-Lo back. If you want to get really different you can take a shot on Jaden McDaniels or Jarred Vanderbilt in that front court, whichever one starts is the one I’d prefer.

From the Lakers, LeBron James has been ruled out for at least the next few games, so we can get some fantasy goodness with both Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis. Westy took over last game, but AD had a solid game as well and this should be a fast paced and competitive game here so I love them both. LeBron being out would also open up some value in Carmelo Anthony and Malik Monk, with my preference on Anthony in that case. Kent Bazemore is a guy you can get to as well if you want to go deeper but I’d prefer to play Melo and Monk in that salary range. Lastly, Dwight Howard is a solid value off the bench and this POR defense is not good in their interior especially on that 2nd unit. If Reaves and Rondo both get ruled out again then I’ll be all over Monk as a value play.

5-star play: Anthony Edwards, Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis

4-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, Carmelo Anthony

Deeper Value: Dwight Howard, Malik Monk, Jaden McDaniels

GPP Sleeper: Malik Monk
