Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Brooklyn Nets @ Detroit Pistons
Vegas Total: 212.0
Vegas Spread: Bkn -10.0
We’ll get this Friday slate started out with the Brooklyn Nets as heavy favorites as they travel into Detroit. On a bigger slate like this one, it’s going to be pretty much a two-man show from the Nets for me. Kevin Durant and James Harden are the main pieces I want here and are both solid options at over $10k. They’re both in solid form as well, Harden feels like he may finally have his legs under him and Durant bounced back nicely last time out against the Hawks. The Nets matched up with the Pistons two games ago and it was the Harden show in that one where he went for 52.5 DraftKings points. If I’m picking between the two I think I would still lean with Durant just because I think he’s in better game shape and has a similar floor and ceiling, but I won’t talk you off either of them here. Outside of them, you can make a case for Joe Harris in GPPs as he comes off his best game of the season, but you need him to get hot from three in order for him to get you there and I’m not sure I want to be in that business on a nine-game slate. From the Pistons, this team is a tough team to go too heavy on when they’re fully healthy like they are at the time I write this. DraftKings did get the price up on Cade Cunningham who had his coming-out party last night against the Sixers. He’s probably still too cheap in this spot especially on FanDuel where he’s just $4.2k and is a guy I’ll go right back to as he should continue to see 30+ minutes nightly from here on out. Jerami Grant had a big game last night as well and is a guy you can get to here. He struggled in this matchup on Sunday, but generally a guy that will give you a nice floor with a reasonable ceiling relative to his price tag. The rest of this team is probably too volatile for me to have a ton of interest in cash games but you can take shots on guys like Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart for tournaments.
5-star play: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Cade Cunningham
4-star play: Jerami Grant
Deeper Value: Cade Cunningham (FanDuel)
GPP Sleeper: Joe Harris, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart

Memphis Grizzlies @ Washington Wizards

Starting with the Grizzlies, this is a spot where I’m going to like Ja Morant a lot. It’s a bad defense that Morant should be able to do whatever he wants against. He’s not really someone I’ll look to jam in in cash games, but the upside makes him viable in GPPs. Jaren Jackson Jr. is going to continue to be a guy where I play the ownership game. If he’s popular I’ll likely fade him due to his ability to get himself into foul trouble. That said, he’s talented enough to put up big numbers in a hurry especially in a good matchup here, so if he’s lower owned I’ll have no issue with him at this price tag. De’Anthony Melton and Desmond Bane continue to look good and are playing solid minutes, they’re not guys I’m looking to jam into my lineup, but solid plays if you happen to land on them. Kyle Anderson is interesting as well, he’s scored at least 23 DraftKings points in four straight games. I wish the minutes were higher on him, but he’s a nice value option if nothing else opens up. Lastly, Steven Adams should be able to body this frontcourt, but he’s been a bit all over the place this season, so likely more of a tournament guy here. From the Wizards, Bradley Beal is a guy we know is going to play massive minutes and someone I look to get to any time he’s under $10k, he’s a really nice option here. I think Spencer Dinwiddie is priced right where he should be here and doesn’t leave much for tournament upside, so I’ll likely just pass over him. Daniel Gafford got his minutes back up to 20 last time out which is going to hurt Montrezl Harrell a bit, but it does help that Davis Bertans is going to miss again. If I were to go to one of these guys it would be Harrell, but I don’t think I would be all that thrilled about it.
5-star play: Ja Morant, Bradley Beal
4-star play: Jaren Jackson Jr., De’Anthony Melton, Desmond Bane
Deeper Value: Kyle Anderson
GPP Sleeper: Steven Adams, Montrezl Harrell, Daniel Gafford
San Antonio Spurs @ Orlando Magic
Vegas Total: 212.0
Vegas Spread: Sas -3.5
Starting with the Spurs, Jakob Poeltl will continue to be out here and we saw Drew Eubanks get the start in his place last time out. I would expect more of the same here, but Eubanks did get a price bump to over $4k on both sites. I still think there’s some meat on the bone if he can scratch across a few more minutes, so a solid value play nonetheless in a nice matchup. Thaddeus Young was another guy that saw some additional run with Poeltl out. He now has at least 27 DraftKings points in two of his last three games but I just don’t love the price tag on him, more of a GPP guy. Dejounte Murray bounced back nicely last time out with 51.8 FanDuel points and continues to show a nice upside. I don’t love the price tag on him, but it’s a nice matchup and a guy you can get to in tournaments. Derrick White is more of the cash point guard due to his consistency and a guy you can get to here as well. Lastly, I’m intrigued by Keldon Johnson’s increase in usage this season but I still want to see more out of him mat this price tag, he’s just not consistently putting up 30 fantasy points which would be what I’m looking for here. From the Magic, Cole Anthony is the definition of volatile right now, especially at his new price tag. He’s had a few 60 point fantasy games this season but shot terribly last time out to the tune of 4-18 from the field. The nice thing with him is you know you’re going to get massive minutes out of him. With Poeltl out for the Spurs, the Magic should be able to do whatever they want down low in this one which interests me in Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. Bamba is more of the GPP guy whereas Carter is more playable in cash games. Franz Wagner came back to Earth last time out with just 15 DraftKings points, he’ll be a mid-range tournament guy at best for me. Lastly, Jalen Suggs has had a back to back down games as well, and in the same boat as Wagner for me.
5-star play: Dejounte Murray
4-star play: Drew Eubanks, Derrick White, Keldon Johnson, Cole Anthony, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr.
Deeper Value: Drew Eubanks
GPP Sleeper: Thaddeus Young, Keldon Johnson, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner
New York Knicks @ Milwaukee Bucks
Vegas Total: NA
Vegas Spread: NA
Starting with the Knicks, I love this spot for Julius Randle and the Knicks. The Bucks play at the third-fastest pace in the league whereas the Knicks are 28th, not to mention we know Randle is going to play huge minutes as usual. RJ Barrett comes into this one in great form with at least 33 DraftKings points in three straight games, I have no issue riding the heater on him as well. Kemba Walker had a down game last time out and just shot bad from the field going 2-11. I do like the price tag on him here in a faster-paced game for New York as mentioned, we’ve seen him up near the 40 point mark at times this season. Then you can round this team out with GPP guys like Evan Fournier and Mitchell Robinson, but I doubt I get much more than a sprinkle of each here. That being said I could get talked into Fournier due to the Bucks ability to give up the three-ball. From the Bucks, the usual characters will be out for them again here, but sounds like they’ll get Jrue Holiday back and should be in for a big workload from the jump with Khris Middleton out. The only issue is Holiday could be limited as it’s his first game since October 23rd. If it comes out that he’s not limited or anything, he’s a guy I’ll look to get a ton of. With Middleton, and Brook Lopez off the court last season he had a 27.9% usage rate and 1.34 fantasy points per minute. Not to mention Giannis Antetokounmpo is a great play as well with a 30.2% usage rate and 1.62 fantasy points per minute under the same circumstances. You can probably come off George Hill just a bit with Jrue back and a price increase, but still, a guy that will be active off the bench. Then guys like Grayson Allen, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton are GPP flyers with my favorite being Portis who has at least 24 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and someone who is always a really nice point per minute guy.
5-star play: Julius Randle, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday (If not limited)
4-star play: RJ Barrett, Kemba Walker, Grayson Allen
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Evan Fournier, Mitchell Robinson, Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Toronto Raptors
Vegas Total: NA
Vegas Spread: Tor -6.0
Starting with the Cavs, Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love will continue to be out for this team which opens up minutes at the wing for guys like Cedi Osman and Dean Wade who we saw start last time out. Wade didn’t do a whole lot in his start, so probably not a guy I’ll get a whole lot of here but if you’re desperate and he starts again… I get it. If they change things up and give Osman the start, I’d be all over him. He has at least 18 DraftKings points in his last three games and would make for an elite value play. Evan Mobley has played 40 minutes in back-to-back games, so clearly a guy they’re not afraid to run out there. I like the price tag a good amount on him here. Jarrett Allen has back-to-back games with at least 55 DraftKings points and is priced under $7k again here, so another guy that I’ll look to get a bunch of against a weak frontcourt. Then we can round out this team with the guards, Darius Garland is probably the guy you’ll want for cash games while Collin Sexton has been more volatile o start the season, but I do think there’s some tournament upside at these price tags. From the Raptors, Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby are going to continue to be the guys I get to from this team, they’re just playing massive minutes right now and that’s hard to overlook. It does sound like Scottie Barnes will be back for this one after missing the past couple of games. He got a price boost, but I still think you can get to him, he’s been over 38 FanDuel points in three straight games. Then you can round the Raptors out with Gary Trent Jr. who has at least 30 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and should continue to play heavy minutes here.
5-star play: Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley
4-star play: Darius Garland, Collin Sexton, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes
Deeper Value: Cedi Osman (if starting)
GPP Sleeper: Dean Wade, Ricky Rubio

Los Angeles Clippers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Vegas Total: 215.0
Vegas Spread: Lac -3.0
Starting with the Clippers, we saw this matchup the last time these two teams played so we have something to go off of here. Paul George has at least 53 DraftKings points in three straight games and is going to be a great spend-up option on this slate as he continues to dominate the usage on this team. Reggie Jackson had his best game of the season going for a 50 burger in this matchup, I have no issue going right back to him in this spot. Nicolas Batum should continue to start for Marcus Morris and has been performing well, he’s not a guy I generally get to but it’s hard to ignore his production over the past two games. Ivica Zubac was a guy I liked a lot in this spot last time out and he played a season-high 34 minutes, the Wolves have a terrible defense on the interior so he makes for a nice value again here. Then you can round this team out with GPP guys like Terance Mann, Eric Bledsoe, and Luke Kennard in the backcourt. From the Wolves, D’Angelo Russell remains out for this one which opens up a bunch of minutes and shots in the backcourt for guys like Patrick Beverley and Malik Beasley in particular, but Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns should see an increase in usage as well. Beverley is playing surprisingly well and dropped 36.5 DraftKings points in this spot last time out, he’s one of those guys that I think really gets up for these revenge games and makes for a solid value again here. I was all over Beasley last time out and he didn’t kill you but would’ve liked a bit more out of him, he’s probably more of a tournament guy here. Then Towns and Edwards are both strong plays in this spot, not really much bad to say about them here other than their price tags, but if you want to get to them I wouldn’t talk you down.
5-star play: Paul George, Karl-Anthony Towns
4-star play: Reggie Jackson, Nicolas Batum, Anthony Edwards, Patrick Beverley
Deeper Value: Patrick Beverley, Ivica Zubac
GPP Sleeper: Terance Mann, Eric Bledsoe, Luke Kennard, Malik Beasley
New Orleans Pelicans @ Golden State Warriors
Vegas Total: 219.5
Vegas Spread: Gsw -9.0
Starting with the Pelicans, we’ll need to keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed here as Brandon Ingram comes into this one as questionable. If he were to miss again, there would be some awesome plays on this team in this matchup with the Warriors, but we’ll break that down for our VIP Members in that Breaking News Feed. For the moment, I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s in and is a solid play as long as he’s not on any sort of minutes restriction. Jonas Valanciunas had his first down game in a while last time out where he went for just 28 FanDuel points. The Warriors have the ability to go small, but if they do Valanciunas could legit rack up 25-30 rebounds, so I don’t think that would be in their best interest. I have no issue going right back to him here. Devonte’ Graham and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are priced pretty similarly and are solid options again here especially if Ingram were to sit. Lastly, Josh Hart has at least 30 minutes in three straight games and is a guy I like getting to due to his ability to stuff the stat sheet. From the Warriors, the price tag on Steph Curry is just going to be hard to get to for me here. He’s proven he can pay this salary off but he has under 42 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and at this price really needs to get you close to 60 fantasy points for you to feel great about it. I liked Draymond Green quite a bit last time out and he had a pretty average game, I have no issue going right back to him in this spot. Then you can round this team out with tournament guys like Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins in what should be a fast-paced game.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Devonte’ Graham, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Josh Hart, Steph Curry, Draymond Green
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins
Charlotte Hornets @ Sacramento Kings
Vegas Total: 226.5
Vegas Spread: Sac -1.5
Starting with the Hornets, LaMelo Ball has been all over the place this season but gets a great matchup here against the Kings who don’t play a whole lot of defense. I’ll probably save him for tournaments just due to the price tag and his volatility to start the season. Miles Bridges is a guy I do like and someone I feel is getting overlooked to start the year. He had another 57.8 FanDuel points last time out and a spot he can excel in here. If you know me by now, I can never get Gordon Hayward right, but he makes sense for tournaments in this spot. Terry Rozier had a bad night shooting the ball last time out, and at this price tag probably more of a tournament option again, but the spot is great as mentioned. It sounds like PJ Washington is going to miss this game so maybe we see some more minutes out of Mason Plumlee and spread out a little more to those bigger wings. Then you can round this team out with Kelly Oubre who’s minutes are trending in the wrong direction, he’s not playable for me right now. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox is going to be hard for me to recommend right now. He’s been held under 40 DraftKings points in all but one game to start the season, I’ll make him show it to me first. Harrison Barnes continues to be a solid option at the wing however, he’s proved to be a really nice cash option and gets a great matchup here. Tyrese Haliburton had his best game of the season last time out but happened to run into six blocks+steals, if people chase that they can… but I wouldn’t necessarily blame them at this price tag and the minutes he’s seeing. Lastly, Buddy Hield is a tournament guy as always, he’s a bit too volatile for me in cash games.
5-star play: Miles Bridges, Harrison Barnes
4-star play: LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton
Deeper Value: Davion Mitchell
GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee, Buddy Hield
I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win last night. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
Indiana Pacers @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total: 223.5
Vegas Spread: Por -3.5
Starting with the Pacers, the price tag on Domantas Sabonis has fallen pretty low from the $10k+ we’ve seen on DraftKings this season. That said, with Malcolm Brogdon back he’ll see a usage and production hit, but I love the spot for him here, this game should shoot out quickly. Brogdon returned last time out to play 36 minutes, so it’s pretty clear he won’t be limited at all here, he’s a solid option but I’m not sure how much I love the price tag. Caris LeVert got his minutes back up to 31 last time out and if he’s going to play that kind of minutes, he’s too cheap for the spot, I love him here. Myles Turner did what Myles Turner does last time out. You kind of know what you’re going to get from him at this point, but he’s a GPP only guy for me due to his volatility. With LeVert getting back up to full minutes, Chris Duarte and TJ McConnell will take a slight hit as well, so I’ll keep them as secondary tournament options. From the Blazers, Damian Lillard continues to be held under 50 DraftKings points and hasn’t shown much of an upside to start the season. I do like his FanDuel price tag a good deal though, so if you’re getting some exposure to him, I would do it over there. CJ McCollum generally isn’t a guy I get to all that often but he’s performing well and a guy I have no issue with if you’re looking to get to him. Jusuf Nurkic has been held under 30 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and isn’t playing the minutes that I had hoped he would. That said, he’s still a nice point-per-minute play for the most part and a nice secondary option. Then on a bigger slate, I think Norman Powell will be as deep as I’ll go on this roster for a tournament option.
5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert
4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Chris Duarte, Myles Turner, Norman Powell, Jusuf Nurkic
