Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Vegas Total: 200.0
Vegas Spread: Bos -2.5
We’ll get this slate started with the Celtics who will still be without Jaylen Brown. He’s missed enough games that we have a pretty good sample size on how this team operates with him out. Jayson Tatum looks like a great option on both sites with a 33.9% usage rate and 1.17 fantasy points per minute with Brown off the court this season. Al Horford started the season in really good form but has since regressed down to scoring in the mid-20’s in his last handful of games, I don’t love this matchup for him either. Dennis Schroeder is a guy I’ll go back to however, he’s been in great form and playing a ton of minutes. Robert Williams has at least 35 DraftKings points in three straight games which I want to believe correlates with Horford’s down games. It seems like one of these guys is going to have a nice night, but both of them can’t. You can play Marcus Smart if you want, I tend to think we’ll find better options on a big slate. Then you can round this team out with a value play in Josh Richardson, he should continue to play around 30 minutes with Brown out. From the Cavs, Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love will continue to be out for this team as well as Collin Sexton who has been ruled out too. Ricky Rubio serves as an immediate fill-in for Sexton, but will likely continue to come off the bench, he scored 35 DraftKings points in this matchup last time out. Evan Mobley continues to play massive minutes and the Celtics aren’t exactly a great rebounding team, so I like this spot for both him and Jarrett Allen. Allen is also playing massive minutes with Markkanen and Love out, he’s had two down games recently, but I like the spot. Lastly, with Sexton and Love off the court last season Darius Garland had a 27.8% usage rate and 1.03 fantasy points per minute and makes for a solid option here as well to round out the Cavs.
5-star play: Jayson Tatum
4-star play: Al Horford, Robert Williams, Dennis Schroeder, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Ricky Rubio, Darius Garland
Deeper Value: Josh Richardson
GPP Sleeper: Al Horford, Robert Williams, Marcus Smart

Sacramento Kings @ Detroit Pistons
Vegas Total: 212.5
Vegas Spread: Sac -4.5
Starting with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox came crashing down to Earth last timeout but the minutes are still going to be in the mid-30’s on him each and every night. I like the price we get on him as well especially on FanDuel, I have no issue going back to him in tournaments. Harrison Barnes continues to be a great option in all formats due to the minutes he’s playing and has a nice floor/ceiling. Tyrese Haliburton returned last game and scored 31 DraftKings points in 35 minutes, he shouldn’t be on any sort of restriction or limitations again here and makes for a solid option in that price range. Buddy Hield is in play regardless for GPPs due to the upside he carries on any given day. Richaun Holmes makes for a solid option here as well, the Pistons frontcourt isn’t something that scares me and he’s coming off a 49.5 FanDuel point game last time out. From the Pistons, on the season Cade Cunningham has a 26.1% usage rate and 0.81 fantasy points per minute. He’s an excellent mid-range option here in a great matchup against the Kings. Jerami Grant is probably the only other Pistons player I’ll have interest in from the Pistons due to the size of the slate. The Kings frontcourt isn’t good on defense, so I have no issue landing on Grant here. You can make a case for Saddiq Bey or even Isaiah Stewart due to the price tag, but they’re deeper GPP guys only on this slate. Stewart did bounce back nicely last time out and should have his minutes more secure with Olynyk out.
5-star play: None
4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes, Cade Cunningham, Jerami Grant, Isaiah Stewart
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Tyrese Haliburton, Saddiq Bey
New Orleans Pelicans @ Washington Wizards
Vegas Total: 212.5
Vegas Spread: Was -2.5
Starting with the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram returned last time out to play 29 minutes against the Grizzlies. I would think he’s a full go here and we can operate under the assumption that he’s not limited at all. I don’t have an issue with him in this spot but I don’t love the price tag at the moment. Jonas Valanciunas had a down game last time out, but I have no issue going right back to him here against a weak Wizards frontcourt. Then the backcourt can be split up I think, Devonte’ Graham is your cash option while Nickeil Alexander-Walker isn’t in the best form so I’ll leave him for GPPs. I’ll have some interest in Josh Hart as well, he’s going to play solid minutes even with Ingram back and has been a nice player from a production standpoint on the season. From the Wizards, Bradley Beal will be out again here due to personal reasons, but here is out the main pieces produced with him out last time.
- Spencer Dinwiddie – 49.25 DraftKings, 45.2 FanDuel
- Kyle Kuzma – 38.5 DraftKings; 36.5 FanDuel
- Aaron Holiday – 25 DraftKings; 26.4 FanDuel
- Raul Neto – 18.25 DraftKings; 16.7 FanDuel
These would be the main pieces I want again here, in particular, Dinwiddie and then Holiday as a value piece. Dinwiddie has a 31.1% usage rate and 1.37 fantasy points per minute with Beal off the court this season.
5-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Spencer Dinwiddie, Aaron Holiday
4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Devonte’ Graham, Kyle Kuzma
Deeper Value: Aaron Holiday, Raul Neto
GPP Sleeper: Montrezl Harrell, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Josh Hart
Orlando Magic @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 213.5
Vegas Spread: Atl -10.5
Starting with the Magic, Cole Anthony has been a bit volatile this season but is a guy that you can like a lot for GPPs. He’s shown a massive ceiling that you won’t find too often in this price range. Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. are similarly priced here, I don’t love the matchup but you can get to them due to the form they’ve been in. I would probably use Carter Jr. as the cash option and then take the volatility of Bamba and play him in GPPs. Then Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs are fine GPP darts in this one but again, we’re going to have a bunch of options on this slate so we can afford to be picky when it comes to our player pools. One thing to keep an eye on is Suggs comes into this one as questionable, so keep tabs on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him. From the Hawks, it sounds like De’Andre Hunter is going to miss a bit of time here which will open up minutes on the wing for guys like Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter, and Danilo Gallinari. I would expect Huerter gets the start in his place moving forward and makes for a solid value option in this spot. Trae Young is coming off a massive 72 point fantasy game last time out against the Bucks and gets a great matchup here, I have no issue going right back to him here. John Collins will continue to be a GPP guy for me due to his volatility, but a fine option if you want to get to him. I do like the spot for Clint Capela, he’s played at least 32 minutes in three straight games. Those games did come against elite big men, so his size was needed. That being said, with Carter and Bamba on the court together, they’ll likely need him again here.
5-star play: Trae Young, Kevin Huerter
4-star play: Cole Anthony, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr., Clint Capela, John Collins
Deeper Value: Kevin Huerter
GPP Sleeper: Mo Bamba, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, Danilo Gallinari, John Collins
Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks
Vegas Total: 216.5
Vegas Spread: Nyk -3.0
Starting with the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon has at least 44 DraftKings points in three straight games. I don’t love the matchup for anyone on the Pacers here, but I’m okay with getting to Brogdon at this price tag. Caris LeVert returned last game and played 25 minutes, it sounds like they may be monitoring his minutes a bit as he deals with this back issue he’s been having, so I’ll likely just wait on those minutes to come back up on him. Domantas Sabonis has been a bit more volatile than we’ve been used to, but I have no issue with going to him here at under $9k on both sites. Myles Turner has been sneaky consistent as of late and a guy I don’t mind getting to here. He has at least 35 FanDuel points in seven of his last eight games. Then you can round out the Pacers with TJ McConnell and Chris Duarte in tournaments. McConnell would see a bump if Duarte were to miss this game, he comes in as questionable. From the Knicks, Julius Randle has had two down games now but gets a nice pace-up spot against a bad defense here, I like going right back to him and hoping people avoid him based on those game logs. RJ Barrett is in the same boat and saw his minutes plummet over the past two games, I’ll likely just hang onto him for tournaments, but the price tag is nice on him. Kemba Walker had a nice game last time out but probably just another GPP guy for me, he’s been all over the place this season. Mitchell Robinson and Evan Fournier are deep deep GPP options if you need them, but I think we’ll find better options.
5-star play: Julius Randle
4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson, Evan Fournier, RJ Barrett, Kemba Walker, TJ McConnell
Denver Nuggets @ Dallas Mavericks
Vegas Total: 209.5
Vegas Spread: Dal -4.5
Starting with the Mavs, we finally saw the big Luka Doncic game going for 80 DraftKings points last time out against the Spurs. You can go right back to him as a spend-up option in your player pool tonight. Kristaps Porzingis has actually looked good over his last two games with at least 40 DraftKings points in each of them. I don’t think I have the confidence to go there in cash, but he’s a fine GPP option. The only other Mavs player I’ll have any sort of interest in here is Jalen Brunson. He’s been really solid this season, but he’s another guy where we’ve seen the price come up a good amount. From the Nuggets, we’ll need to keep an eye on Will Barton’s status here, as he was ruled out of yesterday’s game. Keep tabs on the Breaking News Feeds for updates as it would open up even more value for this Nuggets team. Nikola Jokic is a human-wrecking ball right now with at least 52 DraftKings points in five straight games and should be able to do whatever he wants against a weak Dallas frontcourt. Aaron Gordon is probably too volatile for me to go to in cash, I tried that experiment yesterday and it wasn’t so pretty. That being said, he’ll have to play big minutes with Michael Porter Jr. continuing to be out. Monte Morris had a big night last night as well but still only played 24 minutes, he’s more of a low-end value option for me. Then you can round this team out with Jeff Green who should continue to play around 30 minutes and is a fine value option.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Will Barton, Aaron Gordon
Deeper Value: Jeff Green
GPP Sleeper: Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Brunson, Monte Morris, Aaron Gordon
I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win last night. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
Houston Rockets @ Memphis Grizzlies
Vegas Total: 219.0
Vegas Spread: Mem -11.0
Starting with the Rockets, Christian Wood has been pretty volatile to start the season and at this price tag, he’s going to be just a GPP guy due to the upside he has. Kevin Porter Jr. has at least 30 DraftKings points in three straight games and seems like he’s finding his legs a bit here, I don’t mind him for tournaments either. Outside of these two I don’t have a whole lot of interest in the Rockets, I suppose you could make a case for Jae’Sean Tate, Eric Gordon, or Daniel Theis, but on a big slate, it’s probably a no from me. From the Grizzlies, Dillon Brooks got his minutes into the 30’s last time out and I would expect he’s off any restriction he was on after coming back from injury. He’s a fine secondary option here in a great matchup. Brooks being back hurts the minutes for guys like De’Anthony Melton, Desmond Bane, and Kyle Anderson. Jaren Jackson Jr. looks like a solid option again here as well, I’ll keep bringing up his foul trouble issues until he proves me wrong, but any time he’s popular just go ahead and fade him and hope he gets into early trouble. I do like this matchup for him though against a poor interior defense. Steven Adams has been in pretty good form as well and should take advantage of that frontcourt too, he’s a solid mid-range center option if you need one. Ja Morant has at least 52 DraftKings points in four straight games and is a guy you can get to in all formats in a great matchup here. Lastly, Desmond Bane and Kyle Anderson are fine secondary options as Anderson had his best game of the season and makes for a nice value option here.
5-star play: Ja Morant
4-star play: Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr., Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams
Deeper Value: Kyle Anderson
GPP Sleeper: Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr., Eric Gordon, Jae’Sean Tate, Desmond Bane, Kyle Anderson
Phoenix Suns @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Vegas Total: 222.0
Vegas Spread: Pho -4.0
Starting with the Suns, we’ll need an update on DeAndre Ayton here as he comes in as questionable. If he plays and we get news that he’s not on any sort of restriction, I’ll like this spot quite a bit for him against a terrible Wolves interior. That being said, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status for tonight. Chris Paul and Devin Booker are priced pretty similarly here and are guys I’m okay with if you fall on them, but not really prioritizing them by any means. Targeting the Suns is always difficult, it always seems like they’re priced right where they should be. You can round this team out with GPP guys like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder, but I doubt you’ll need them on this slate. From the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t been in the greatest of form but if Ayton is going to miss here, he should be able to do whatever he wants down low against the likes of JaVale McGee and Frank Kaminsky. D’Angelo Russell has actually been pretty consistent over his last handful of games. I don’t think I’m at the point where I’ll trust him for cash games, but I wouldn’t have an issue going to him in tournaments. He has a huge ceiling but a floor that will make you want to kick him. Anthony Edwards bounced back last time out and is a fine tournament option here as well, the matchup is going to be tough for Russell and Edwards however, the Suns are pretty stout defensively.
5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns
4-star play: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: DeAndre Ayton, Jae Crowder, Mikal Bridges, D’Angelo Russell
Miami Heat @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Vegas Total: 210.5
Vegas Spread: Mia -9.0
Starting with the Heat, we’re going to need some news on this team before we can really analyze it in depth. Bam Adebayo comes in as probable, so we’re good there, but Jimmy Butler is questionable. If he’s out it would change the slate, so I’ll leave the full analysis of the Heat to our VIP Members as it comes out later in the afternoon. From the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been pretty consistent as of late, I don’t love the matchup, however. The Heat are one of the best defenses in the league and if Butler were to play it makes it even more difficult, so I’ll leave him for GPPs only. Josh Giddey is on a bit of a cold run but knows how to stuff the stat sheet which gives him a really nice floor and ceiling. I have no issue with him in any format. Then you can round this team out with Darius Bazley and Lu Dort as secondary tournament pieces. Overall, this is a pretty ugly game if Butler plays, but would become much more interesting from a DFS aspect if he were to sit.
5-star play: Miami TBD
4-star play: Miami TBD, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey
Deeper Value: Miami TBD
GPP Sleeper: Darius Bazley, Lu Dort

Toronto Raptors @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total: 213.0
Vegas Spread: Por -1.5
Starting with the Raptors, this is another team where we’ll need some injury news as Fred VanVleet, Precious Achiuwa, and Chris Boucher all come in as questionable. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding this team. Similar to the Heat, this is news that we need in order to break this team down. It feels like a true coin toss on whether or not these guys play and we saw guys like Goran Dragic and Khem Birch get more run with them out on Saturday. From the Blazers, Damian Lillard missed yesterday’s game but it sounds like he was really close to playing, so I’m going to operate under the assumption that he’s a go here. He’s not a guy that I’ll prioritize by any means, but that FanDuel price tag is intriguing, to say the least. Jusuf Nurkic was a guy I really liked last time out and he had one of his worst games of the season. The minutes have just been all over the place for him, so he’s more of a GPP guy for me tonight, but he should be able to dominate the paint when he’s in there against this Raptors frontcourt. I’ll never have any issue if you want to get to CJ McCollum, I just never play him for some reason. He’s always pretty consistent and will play a big chunk of minutes. Then you can round this team out with Norman Powell and Robert Covington who have been in solid form as of late. Keep an eye on Nassir Little as well, he’s been performing really well as of late.
5-star play: Toronto TBD
4-star play: Toronto TBD, Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Norman Powell
Deeper Value: Toronto TBD, Larry Nance, Nassir Little
GPP Sleeper: Toronto TBD, Damian Lillard, Jusuf Nurkic, Robert Covington
Chicago Bulls @ Los Angeles Lakers
Vegas Total: 217.5
Vegas Spread: Chi -1.0
Starting with the Bulls, Nikola Vucevic will continue to be out for them here meaning we will likely get Tony Bradley starting again, but he’s been less than impressive. I would consider him more of a GPP value than a cash guy at this point. The guys you want here are going to be DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, as they’ll pick up a lot of the offensive slack left with Vucevic out. With Vucevic off the floor this season, DeRozan has a 33.9% usage rate and 1.32 fantasy points per minute while LaVine is at a 37.5% usage rate and 1.18 fantasy points per minute, both are great options here. You can make a case for Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso in tournaments as well as they get a revenge game in LA. From the Lakers, we know LeBron is going to continue to be out, so on a big slate, it’s going to be pretty much just three guys for me. Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony for GPPs. Westbrook and Davis have been elite with LeBron off the court this season and are certainly in play here again. While Carmelo has a 20.3% usage rate and 0.87 fantasy points per minute with LeBron off the court.
5-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook
4-star play: Lonzo Ball, Carmelo Anthony, Alex Caruso
Deeper Value: Tony Bradley, Alize Johnson
GPP Sleeper: Tony Bradley, Alize Johnson, Alex Caruso, Lonzo Ball, Carmelo Anthony
NBA Lock of the Day: Spencer Dinwiddie (DK – $7.2k; FD – $6.5k)
I’m going to go right back to the well with Spencer Dinwiddie in this spot against the Pelicans. Bradley Beal is expected to miss this game again for the Wizards which opens up a bunch of opportunities in that Washington offense. We saw Dinwiddie go for 49 DraftKings points last time out, and has a really nice price tag on FanDuel as well. The tag on DraftKings is a little high, but with Beal out he’s well worth it. He has a 31.1% usage rate and 1.37 fantasy points per minute with Beal off the court this season and a guy I’ll be getting a bunch of on tonight’s slate. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
