Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Washington Wizards @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 211.5

Vegas Spread: Was -4.0

We’ve got the first absolute beast of a slate of the season today with a 13-gamer, so grab your coffee and hunker down…it’s gonna get wild. Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal bounced back nicely last time out going for 48.25 DraftKings points against the Bucks. The matchup isn’t the best just due to the pace, but he’s in play if you happen to land on him for GPPs. Spencer Dinwiddie isn’t in the greatest form and at this price tag I don’t think you need to get to him on this slate. Kyle Kuzma bounced back last time out as well with 38.5 DraftKings points. That being said, Mobley and Allen have been really good defensively, so I think we’ll find better spots to play Kuz this season. I do have some interest in Daniel Gafford however, his minutes are up above 20 again and he’s producing nicely. The only issue is he’s priced right about where he should be for the minutes he’s getting. If he were to get 30+ minutes, he’d be way too cheap, but we’re just not seeing that right now. Lastly, Montrezl Harrell is a fine GPP option, but again, I don’t love the matchup against this Cavs frontcourt. From the Cavs, Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love will continue to be out for this team as well as Collin Sexton who has been ruled out too. Ricky Rubio serves as an immediate fill-in for Sexton and proved what he’s capable of last time out where he went for 61.25 DraftKings points. He’s a phenomenal play at this price tag and would expect he gets the start here for Sexton. Evan Mobley continues to play massive minutes and had a nice bounce-back game last time out. I don’t expect the Wizards frontcourt to be able to stop him or Jarrett Allen. Allen is in the same boat, he’s playing massive minutes with Markkanen and Love out, I’ll go right back to these two on this slate. Lastly, with Sexton and Love off the court last season Darius Garland had a 27.8% usage rate and 1.03 fantasy points per minute and makes for a solid option here as well to round out the Cavs.

5-star play: Ricky Rubio, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen

4-star play: Bradley Beal, Montrezl Harrell, Darius Garland

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Daniel Gafford

Brooklyn Nets @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 209.5

Vegas Spread: Bkn -9.0

Starting with the Nets, I’m going to make this team really quick and concise due to the size of the slate. It’s just going to be Kevin Durant and James Harden here for me. The rest of this team is too thin for me to want to get exposure to on a slate where we should have more than enough options. Harden had a down game last time out but gets an excellent bounce-back spot against a bad defense here. Durant did have a nice game last time out however and has been pretty consistent over the past four games. They’re both going to play big minutes and are solid options here as always. From the Magic, Cole Anthony continues to crush and now has at least 44 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. He’s been somewhat volatile this season and the price has come up, but it’s hard to ignore the tournament upside on him. Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. are going to have a pretty solid matchup here against a below-average frontcourt. Carter Jr. has been in awesome form and coming off a 50 burger last time out. He’s been super consistent and a guy I like getting to here whereas Bamba is more of the GPP guy due to his volatility. Then Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs are fine GPP darts in this one but again, we’re going to have a bunch of options on this slate so we can afford to be picky when it comes to our player pools.

5-star play: James Harden, Kevin Durant

4-star play: Cole Anthony, Wendell Carter Jr.

Deeper Value: Terrence Ross

GPP Sleeper: Mo Bamba, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, Terrence Ross

Toronto Raptors @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 209.5

Vegas Spread: Bos -2.0

Starting with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam made his debut over the weekend and played 25 minutes against the Nets. I wasn’t expecting that many minutes from him right away so there’s a chance he gets back to the 30-minute mark right away here. The only issue is we’re not getting any sort of discount on him on either site, so I’ll leave him just for tournaments. OG Anunoby has increased his usage rate from 19.8% last season to 25% this season and a fantasy point per minute. I like the matchup here against the Celtics and makes sense for cash games at the very least. The same can be said for Fred VanVleet, he’s been a solid consistent option for a year and a half now. Scottie Barnes‘ minutes should still be pretty solidified even with Siakam back, maybe he loses a little production, but he’s still solid in this range. Then you can round this team out with Gary Trent Jr. who continues to play huge minutes and has at least 33 FanDuel points in three of his last four games. From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown will continue to be out for this team and it’s expected that Dennis Schroeder continues to start in his place. Below is how the rest of the team operates with Brown off the court this season:

  • Jayson Tatum – 34.3% usage rate; 1.24 fpm
  • Dennis Schroeder – 24.1% usage rate; 0.88 fpm
  • Al Horford – 24.8% usage rate 1.27 fpm
  • Marcus Smart – 13.4% usage rate; 0.67 fpm

That usage rate from Tatum is pretty impressive and something I’ll have exposure to on this slate. Oh, and Marcus Smart is checked out.

5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Dennis Schroeder

4-star play: Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Al Horford

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Pascal Siakam, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes, Marcus Smart, Robert Williams

Detroit Pistons @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Pistons, in his four games, Cade Cunningham has a 28.9% usage rate and 0.84 fantasy points per minute. He’s an excellent mid-range option here in a great matchup against the Rockets. Jerami Grant is probably the only other Pistons player I’ll have interest in from the Pistons due to the size of the slate. The Rockets frontcourt isn’t good on defense, so I have no issue landing on Grant here. You can make a case for Saddiq Bey or even Isaiah Stewart due to the price tag, but they’re deeper GPP guys only on this slate. From the Rockets, Kevin Porter Jr. comes into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status. There would be some big boosts to other guys on this team if he were to miss, but again, we’ll keep you updated on those impacts in the Breaking News Feed. Christian Wood gets a revenge game against his old squad and is coming off pretty easily his worst game of the season. I like this spot as a bounce-back game quite a bit for tournaments. Jae’sean Tate was a guy I liked a lot last time out thinking the Warriors would go small, which they did, but I don’t think you need to go back to him here in any huge amount. His price is pretty nice though if you want to make him a secondary cash option. You can probably come off Alperen Sengun now that he’s back on the bench with Daniel Theis back, but Theis is interesting at sub $4k on DraftKings. He’s scored at least 26 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and the matchup is pretty solid here.

5-star play: Cade Cunningham

4-star play: Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green, Jae’sean Tate, Jerami Grant

Deeper Value: Daniel Theis

GPP Sleeper: Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green, Daniel Theis, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart

Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

We saw this matchup last week so we have something to go off of here. We’ll get started with the Bucks, they’ll still be without Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez comes in as questionable, but until he plays I’m just going to operate under the assumption that he’s out. I was all over Jrue Holiday last night and probably a guy I’ll go back to at this price tag again. With Middleton, Lopez, and DiVincenzo off the court last season he had a 27.9% usage rate and 1.34 fantasy points per minute. The sample size on Giannis Antetokounmpo is a little smaller but he’s still looking at a 30.2% usage rate and 1.62 fantasy points per minute, he’s an elite play again here… although the price tag has now gotten over $12k on DraftKings, so you’re paying through the nose for him. Bobby Portis should continue to start at the five as long as Lopez is out and should play 30+ minutes again. He’s an elite point-per-minute guy and is too cheap right now. Grayson Allen has looked great as well with at least 32 DraftKings points in three straight games, no issue with him here either. From the Knicks, Julius Randle was a guy I was all over the last time the Knicks played the Bucks and ended with 58.5 DraftKings points. I’ll go right back to the well on him here due to how much of a pace-up spot it is for New York. RJ Barrett has been in good form as of late outside of a dud against the Cavs, but he’s playing a bunch of minutes. He’s priced right where he should be which is the issue, more of a secondary option here as well. Kemba Walker is just going to have to prove to me he’s still got it more consistently for me to have any sort of interest in him. Mitchell Robinson and Evan Fournier are deep deep GPP options if you need them, but I think we’ll find better options.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis, Jrue Holiday, Julius Randle

4-star play: Grayson Allen, RJ Barrett

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, Mitchell Robinson, Evan Fournier

Dallas Mavericks @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 212.0

Vegas Spread: Chi -3.5

Starting with the Mavs, we haven’t really seen that huge ceiling from Luka Doncic this season that we grew accustomed to and the Bulls have been pretty solid on defense. With the price coming up on Doncic I’ll likely just spend up elsewhere, but he’ll still make my player pool. Kristaps Porzingis is another guy where I’ll just need to see it from him first. He’s way too volatile for me to have interest right now and you’re really not getting any sort of a discount on him. The only other Mavs player I’ll have any sort of interest in here is Jalen Brunson. He’s been really solid this season, but he’s another guy where we’ve seen the price come up a good amount. From the Bulls, Nikola Vucevic matches up well with the Mavs weak frontcourt, but we haven’t seen that huge ceiling from him yet this season either. I don’t know that we will see the ceiling from him with this team healthy right now due to the new additions to this Bulls team. DeMar DeRozan cooled off last time out but is still a guy that’s playing a ton of minutes and has been pretty consistent to start the season off. Zach LaVine has at least 40 DraftKings points in five straight games and makes sense in GPPs as the very least here. Lastly, Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso are fine secondary GPP options but tell me if you’ve heard this before, I think we can do better on this big slate.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Luka Doncic, Nikola Vucevic, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kristaps Porzingis, Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso

I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win last night. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!

Charlotte Hornets @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -4.5

Starting with the Hornets, LaMelo Ball had a massive game against the Lakers last time out going for 68.75 DraftKings points. That said, the price on DraftKings has come way up to $10k, if you’re going to get exposure to him, do it on FanDuel where he’s just $8.7k. Miles Bridges has slowed down a bit as of late, but he’s playing as many minutes as he can handle with at least 37 in four straight. I have no issue with him as a secondary option in all formats. If you know me by now, I can never get Gordon Hayward right, but he makes sense for tournaments in this spot. Terry Rozier got his shooting out of the gutter last time out and played 40 minutes… and his price went down. I like going right back to him in this spot at a nice price tag. It sounds like PJ Washington is going to miss this game so maybe we see some more minutes out of Mason Plumlee and spread out a little more to those bigger wings. Then you can round this team out with Kelly Oubre who’s minutes are trending in the wrong direction, he’s not playable for me right now. From the Grizzlies, it sounds like there’s a chance Dillon Brooks could make his season debut as he recovers from a broken hand. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him, but even if he plays I would assume he’s limited and won’t make my player pool. More than anything he’d cut into minutes on a guy like De’Anthony Melton. Ja Morant had 55.2 FanDuel points last time out and gets a nice matchup again here. I like him more for GPPs due to his boom/bust nature, but he’s in play nonetheless. Jaren Jackson Jr. looks like a solid option again here as well, I’ll keep bringing up his foul trouble issues until he proves me wrong, but any time he’s popular just go ahead and fade him and hope he gets into early trouble. I doubt he’s all that popular in this spot tonight, so I have no issue with him in tournaments. Steven Adams killed a lot of lineups last time out, he’s been in such bad form, I’ll just go ahead and fade him for now. Lastly, Desmond Bane and Kyle Anderson are fine secondary options as Anderson had his best game of the season and makes for a nice value option here.

5-star play: LaMelo Ball (FanDuel), Ja Moran

4-star play: LaMelo Ball (DraftKings), Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges, Jaren Jackson Jr.

Deeper Value: Kyle Anderson

GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee, Desmond Bane, Kyle Anderson

Oklahoma City Thunder @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has at least 40 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and is a solid option here as he begins to show a bit more consistency. It’s a pretty solid matchup as well. Josh Giddey is a guy I’ve been playing a ton of this season, he gets it done in every stat for DFS purposes which gives him a really nice floor and ceiling. He’s too cheap especially on FanDuel where you get extra points for blocks and steals. I have a hard time trusting the rest of this Thunder team, so guys like Darius Bazley and Lu Dort are deeper tournament guys. From the Pelicans, tell me if you’ve heard this one before but Brandon Ingram comes into this game as questionable. I’m going to operate under the assumption that he plays, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him and the rest of this team. Jonas Valanciunas continues to be a good option in all formats now that he’s finally getting a consistent 30+ minutes, but the price is definitely upon him. Then the backcourt can be split up I think, Devonte’ Graham is your cash option while Nickeil Alexander-Walker isn’t in the best form so I’ll leave him for GPPs. I’ll have some interest in Josh Hart especially if Ingram needs to miss as well. He can get it done from a fantasy perspective if given the minutes.

5-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: Josh Giddey, Devonte’ Graham

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Darius Bazley, Lu Dort, Josh Hart, Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Sacramento Kings @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Kings, I can’t use the “De’Aaron Fox has been held under 40 DraftKings points in all but one game this season” anymore after a 46 point outing last time out. I do like targeting point guards against the Spurs and the price tag is nice, I have no issue with him here at all. Harrison Barnes continues to be a great option in all formats due to the minutes he’s playing and has a nice floor/ceiling. We’ll have to keep an eye out for news surrounding Tyrese Haliburton as he comes in as questionable here. If he were to miss we can expect more minutes/opportunities for guys like Davion Mitchell, Terence Davis, and Moe Harkless. Buddy Hield is in play regardless for GPPs due to the upside he carries on any given day. From the Spurs, Jakob Poeltl will continue to be out here and we saw Drew Eubanks dominate in his 22 minutes of play last time out. He dropped 37.25 DraftKings points and shot really well from the floor. I wish he was getting more minutes, I just don’t think that kind of production is consistent enough in that little of minutes. Thaddeus Young was another guy who has seen additional run with Poeltl out. He now has at least 27 DraftKings points in four of his last five games, I like him for tournaments here. Dejounte Murray has seen his price skyrocket from the start of the season but it’s not without warrant, so I have no issue with him in GPPs at the very least. Derrick White is more of the cash point guard due to his consistency and a guy you can get to here as well. Lastly, Keldon Johnson could be finding his groove for once, he has at least 35 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and has seen an increase in usage this season with DeRozan off the team. I don’t hate taking a flyer on him in GPPs.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes

4-star play: Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Richaun Holmes, Thaddeus Young, Keldon Johnson, Derrick White

Deeper Value: Davion Mitchell, Moe Harkless, Terence Davis

GPP Sleeper: Thaddeus Young, Buddy Hield, Drew Eubanks

Indiana Pacers @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon is expected to play so we finally don’t need to wait for the news on him for once. Assuming he does play, I would expect he’s not limited at all and a very solid option here at this price tag.  Caris LeVert has been a guy I’ve targeted pretty heavily with his increase in minutes over the last three games, but now his price has come up. I do still think you can get to him at this price point considering how much he’s shooting, he’s just going to need to knock down some shots. He has over 18 field goal attempts in four straight games. Domantas Sabonis is going to get a nice boost here with Jokic not in the paint, but man the price tag is tough. He’s probably more of a tournament play for me but wouldn’t talk you off of him if you wanted to go there for cash. Myles Turner is going to continue to be a tournament-only option for me due to his volatility, but this is a solid matchup with Jokic end and has at least 49 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. Then you can round out the Pacers with TJ McConnell and Chris Duarte in tournaments. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has been suspended for his push against Markieff Morris last time out and with Michael Porter Jr. also out, this team is going to be full of value and open opportunities. With Jokic out I would expect JaMychal Green to get the start at center with Aaron Gordon and Jeff Green on the wings. JaMychal Green would make for a top value option on the slate if that is the case at just $3.2k on DraftKings and $3.8k on FanDuel. My favorite option on the team for DFS is going to be Will Barton from a raw points perspective, however. Barton has the ability to take over while he’s out there and has at least 36 DraftKings points in three straight games to go along with at least 35 minutes in each of them. You would think Gordon would see an increase in production but he’s still the same volatile fantasy producer we’ve come to know. Lastly, PJ Dozier was a popular value option last time out and saw just 21 minutes, I would rather just go down to JaMychal Green if you wanted value on this team personally. Jeff Green did see 34 minutes last time out but wasn’t all that efficient in the minutes going for just 14.4 FanDuel points.

5-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Will Barton

4-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert, Myles Turner, JaMychal Green, Monte Morris, Aaron Gordon

Deeper Value: JaMychal Green, Jeff Green

GPP Sleeper: TJ McConnell, Chris Duarte, Jeff Green, PJ Dozier, Monte Morris

Portland Trailblazers @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Blazers, the price on Damian Lillard on DraftKings is just wrong right now especially considering the matchup with the Suns. The price on FanDuel, however, is much more playable so if you’re going to get exposure to Lillard, do it on FanDuel. Jusuf Nurkic has put up at least 43 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and if Ayton is forced to miss for the Suns again it’s a nice matchup for Nurk down low. I’ll never have any issue if you want to get to CJ McCollum, I just never play him for some reason. He’s always pretty consistent and will play a big chunk of minutes. His price went through the roof after what we saw at $7.2k on DraftKings last night, I don’t think I need to get to him at $8.5k. Then you can round this team out with Norman Powell and Robert Covington who have been in solid form as of late. From the Suns, Devin Booker has been in really good form but man DraftKings wasn’t shy about pricing these guys up tonight, I’ll get my Booker exposure on FanDuel, but I do like the matchup a good amount. The same can be said for Chris Paul although he struggled in this matchup earlier in the season with just 24.9 FanDuel points. DeAndre Ayton will continue to miss this one so you can go right back to the well on JaVale McGee and Frank Kaminsky. Kaminsky being the more attractive option, he got in foul trouble last time out which is why he had the down game from a production standpoint, but I have no problem going right back to him here. Then you can round this team out with tournament guys like Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridges.

5-star play: Damian Lillard (FanDuel), Devin Booker (FanDuel)

4-star play: Damian Lillard (DraftKings), Devin Booker (DraftKings), Jusuf Nurkic, Chris Paul, Frank Kaminsky

Deeper Value: Larry Nance Jr.

GPP Sleeper: CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, Robert Covington, Jae Crowder, Mikal Bridges

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: GSW -7.0

Starting with the Wolves, this is an odd spot for Karl-Anthony Towns. The Warriors play big men really weird due to not really having the size to matchup individually, so they have no issue going small. If Towns can keep up with the small lineup, he’ll dominate and I would expect his minutes to continue to be massive. D’Angelo Russell returned last game and dropped a 50 burger on the Grizzlies and this is why I keep him in play for tournaments on most slates. He has a huge ceiling but a floor that will make you want to kick him when he goes out and gets you 17 fantasy points. Anthony Edwards is one of the best young scorers in the league and is a guy I don’t mind getting to in this matchup. Outside of those three, I don’t think you need to get too deep on this team considering the size of the slate. From the Warriors, the price tag on Steph Curry is just going to be hard to get to for me here. He’s proven he can pay this salary off, look no further than last game where he went for 86.75 DraftKings points. The price is going to be hard on a lot of these high-end guys, however, so I’ll definitely have him in my player pool due to the matchup. Draymond Green has been pretty quiet as of late, but always a guy I’ll have interest in and a nice price tag on him as well. Then you can round this team out with tournament guys like Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins in what should be a fast-paced game.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, Steph Curry

4-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, Draymond Green

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins

Miami Heat @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 214.5

Vegas Spread: Mia -4.5

Starting with the Heat, they’re a bit of a mess right now as Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and PJ Tucker all come into this one as questionable while Markieff Morris is going to miss after getting pushed by Jokic last time out. I think at this point in the day, we’ll keep you updated in the Breaking News Feed for updates on this team and who’s impacted by what, but it’s pretty hard to break this team down in any good measure until we get news on these guys. From the Lakers, we know LeBron James will continue to be out here which leaves me with two guys I’ll have exposure to on the Lakers and I’m sure you can guess who they are. Anthony Davis has a 32% usage rate and 1.51 fantasy points per minute with LeBron off the court this season and coming off a 68.5 DraftKings point game last time out. Then Russell Westbrook has a 32.5% usage rate and 1.39 fantasy points per minute with LeBron off the court this season and is also coming off a 60 point fantasy night. It’s a tough matchup with a good Miami defense, but these are the guys I’ll have in my player pool tonight from the Lakers.

5-star play: Miami TBD, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook

4-star play: Miami TBD

Deeper Value: Miami TBD

GPP Sleeper: Miami TBD, Carmelo Anthony
