Get your NFL DFS research rolling with this week’s match-up breakdown. We will take a look at a few guys that I think are in a great spot based on the match-ups along with a few guys that I might look to go underweight on.

***Disclaimer*** Realize that we have just 1 week of data to go off of this season. Teams are going to move guys around as they learn to attack match-ups. The numbers I will quote in this article reflect just the week 1 action. Let’s dig into the week 2 match-ups and find guys to go overweight on guys to go underweight on!

3 Guys in great NFL Match-ups being overlooked (ownership % wise):
Tyler Boyd (CIN) vs Kindle Vildor and Marqui Christian: We have Boyd currently projected at 3.8% on DK and 1.7% on FD. These numbers seem to be ones that are looking at the way that CIN threw the ball on the outside against MIN. Boyd gets a match-up against somebody that I am convinced is a made-up person. Christian allowed Cooper Kupp to eat him up out of the slot in week 1. Boyd should line up mostly against Christian out of the slot (Boyd ran 73% of his routes from the slot last season) but he will get Vildor on the outside as well. Everybody playing NFL DFS this week is going to run to Chase after week 1’s performance but Boyd has the best overall match-up for the Bengals.
Robert Woods (LAR) vs Rock-Ya Sin: It looks like Cooper Kupp (17.8% on DK, 16.9% on FD) is going to be the chalk at WR this week after he torched CHI and the report came out about how much time Stafford and Kupp have put in together coming into this season. Woods actually has the better individual match-up as Rock-Ya Sin was targeted 14 times and allowed a rating of 110.9 last week. Woods is projected at 9% on DK and 10% on FD. So it’s not a huge oversight but being 40-50% less than Kupp is what could separate our GPP lineups.
Julio Jones (TEN) vs Tre Flowers: I am very much in the A.J. Brown camp for the 2021 NFL season and I was in week 1, too, but Jones stands out for me this week because of his match-up and our projected ownership of 3.7% on DK and 4.5% on FD. Flowers was targeted in coverage 15 times in week 1 and allowed an astounding 154.2 QB rating on those 15 targets. Julio has one of our largest advantages on Sunday as it sits at 95 (tied for the largest advantage of the weekend).

2 Guys who we might be overlooking the match-up on:
Stefon Diggs (BUF) vs Xavien Howard: I fully expect Howard to shadow Diggs all over the field in this game. If they don’t shadow, then I think Diggs ends up with more Byron Jones, which is a slightly better match-up for him but still not one he’s guaranteed to dominate in. We project Diggs to be 11.7% on DK and 18.9% on FD. Howard considers himself to be elite and asked to be traded before the Dolphins made an adjustment to his contract. He’s out to show the NFL how elite he actually is.
Cooper Kupp (LAR) vs Kenny Moore II: I know I touched on this with Robert Woods above but I do believe that Moore is IND’s best NFL CB and he just happens to reside in the slot. We have Kupp projected at a combined 34.7% ownership between the two sites. Moore was targeted just 4 times in week 1 by Wilson and the Seahawks. Kupp’s advantage (according to our WR/CB match-up tool) is 1/3rd less than what Woods’ is despite being nearly twice as highly owned according to our projections.
