Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Mia -1

From the Heat, we’ll need some injury news on these guys with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro coming into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. But both played last game so I’ll operate under the assumption they’re both playing until we hear otherwise. I love playing Butler in games like these as playoff Jimmy is starting to come out. Bam Adebayo is another guy I like here, he struggled in this matchup earlier this season, but I have no issue going right back to him in an elite matchup against a team that struggles with opposing big men. Other guys like Kendrick Nunn, Goran Dragic, and Duncan Robinson would be more in play for me if Butler were to sit. Now for the Celtics, it looks like Jaylen Brown will miss this game while Robert Williams comes in as questionable, let’s run some numbers with Brown off the court this season to see how these other guys grade out:

  • Jayson Tatum – 35.3% usage rate; 1.39 fpm
  • Kemba Walker – 30.9% usage rate; 1.18 fpm
  • Marcus Smart – 21.3% usage rate; 0.96 fpm

These would be the three main guys I have an interest in for the Celtics, you can make a case for Evan Fournier, but he hasn’t exactly benefitted with Brown out at 0.68 fantasy points per minute. That being said, he has at least 35 DraftKings points in two straight games, the Bulls are a great matchup all around as a struggling defensive team. If Robert Williams is in I definitely want some shares of him here in GPPs.

5-star play: Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler

4-star play: Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Marcus Smart, Evan Fournier

Deeper Value: Robert Williams, Kendrick Nunn, Goran Dragic

GPP Sleeper: Kemba Walker

New York Knicks @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Lac -7.5

Starting with the Knicks, the big news here could be what the Knicks will do at their center position. Nerlens Noel’s x-rays came back negative, he ended up missing their last game but comes into this one as questionable. If he ends up missing we could see more Julius Randle at the center position along with Taj Gibson likely getting the start again. That said, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding them. Julius Randle is a solid option on both sites, he’s cheaper on FanDuel but still playable on DraftKings, he’s been in good form coming into this one. RJ Barrett is a guy I like here, I would think he avoids Kawhi and PG here, so if you need a SF don’t forget about Barrett. Derrick Rose is a fine option as well, especially if Quickley were to miss again, but overall this should be a pretty slow game. From the Clippers, Paul George has been a bit volatile as of late but the minutes are still here on him, I’m more than okay going right back to him. Kawhi Leonard returned last time out to play 30 minutes but he hasn’t looked great the past few games since returning, but he is in play for GPPs here as no one will be on him and he could break out. He does worry me this late in the season, so I may leave him for GPPs only. Then you can round this team out with guys like Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris who are in that same GPP boat, you can probably throw a guy like Ivica Zubac in that category as well. You can also go to Rajon Rondo is Pat Beverley misses again for value.

5-star play: Julius Randle

4-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, RJ Barrett

Deeper Value: Derrick Rose, Marcus Morris, Ivica Zubac, Rajon Rondo

GPP Sleeper: Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose

New Orleans Pelicans @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Cha -4

Starting with the Pelicans, the big news here is that Zion is going to miss this game as is out for the foreseeable future with that finger fracture, and Brandon Ingram is doubtful so this opens up a lot for the Pels in terms of usage, it breaks down like this:

Eric Bledsoe: 24.4% usage rate; 0.95 FPPM

Lonzo Ball: 28.9% usage rate; 1.28 FPPM

Willy Hernangomez: 22.4% usage rate; 1.39 FPPM

Jaxson Hayes: 22.7% usage rate; 1.32 FPPM

I would think that the Pels want to continue to get their younger guys some experience, so I’d roll with Jaxson Hayes over James Johnson. Now for the Hornets, the big news here is that LaMelo Ball is back and the price is nice on FanDuel still, especially with Graham likely out again tonight. He does take away from guys like Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham but Graham has been out. Miles Bridges is still stuck in health protocols, so he’s out tonight which is a major boost to Jalen McDaniels and Caleb Martin but Martin may miss as well here, so keep an eye on that. The price on PJ Washington is still great and he’s a usage monster with Bridges out, and even more so if Martin is out as well. Devonte’ Graham is a GTD here, and if he is out then I’ll have even more interest in LaMelo and Rozier.

5-star play: Lonzo Ball, LaMelo Ball

4-star play: Terry Rozier, Jalen McDaniels, PJ Washington

Deeper Value: Jaxson Hayes, James Johnson, Willy Hernangomez

GPP Sleeper: Jaxson Hayes

Dallas Mavericks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 216.5

Vegas Spread: Dal -11

Starting with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic is in better form over the past week or two which is nice to see and is coming off a monster game a few nights ago, they just beat this team down to, so I think the Cavs can make a stand here. If Kristaps Porzingis were to miss Luka would jump into elite play territory if he isn’t already there. I do have a little more interest in some of the other guys on this team than I normally would if Kristaps Porzingis were to miss. I loaded up on Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson in this spot the other day, so I think you can go right back to them in a fast-paced game against this Cavs team. If Kleber misses as well you can get some Dwight Powell and Willie Cauley-Stein for value as well. Now for the Cavaliers, Darius Garland is going to miss this one meaning Sexton should see a nice boost in the backcourt. Collin Sexton has a 30.3% usage rate and 1.12 fantasy points per minute with Garland and Nance off the court this season but I do like his price a bit more on FanDuel. I am okay getting to some Jarrett Allen as well here, the Mavericks don’t exactly have a great interior defense. Kevin Love has at least 35 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and a guy I like getting to in GPPs. Then you can round this team out with Isaac Okoro and Cedi Osman, Osman has more upside but Okoro’s minutes are more locked in.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, Collin Sexton

4-star play: Kevin Love, Jarrett Allen, Tim Hardaway Jr.

Deeper Value: Isaac Okoro, Cedi Osman, Jalen Brunson, Willie Cauley-Stein

GPP Sleeper: Willie Cauley-Stein, Isaac Okoro

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 230

Vegas Spread: Min -7.5

Starting with the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has gotten very handsy the past few games, but gets a great matchup here as the Magic won’t be able to stop him inside, if you want to get exposure I would do it on FanDuel where he’s under $10k. I had quite a bit of Anthony Edwards last time out in GPPs and he dropped 66 DraftKings points, now is the time to jump off if you’re in the same boat especially with Russell back in the starting lineup. D’Angelo Russell finally got back into the starting lineup last time out and played 37 minutes. He’s going to play big minutes as long as he’s in the starting lineup, but again, the matchup is really good for most of these Wolves guys. Then the rest of these guys like Ricky Rubio and potentially Jaden McDaniels are all MME guys for me, but I’ll have some Jarred Vanderbilt if McDaniels were to miss again. Now for the Magic, Cole Anthony now has back-to-back duds and has been held under 20 fantasy points but bounced back a bit last game. That being said, Anthony is in a great matchup here as the Wolves don’t play defense, I think you can go back to him here. Wendell Carter Jr. is expected to miss here… so fire up the goat, Bamba number 5, Big Mo himself, Mr. Mo Bamba who has filled in really well for Carter Jr. as of late. The price is getting up there, but it’s warranted, this is a good matchup for opposing big men. Dwayne Bacon is playing big minutes and should continue to along with RJ Hampton and Gary Harris due to how shorthanded they are. Of those three, Bacon is your safest for cash games but I love the upside you get in a guy like Hampton who has at least 39 DraftKings points in three straight games. Mo Wagner should continue to start and see big minutes and he is cheap as well.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, Mo Bamba

4-star play: Cole Anthony, Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell, Dwayne Bacon, Mo Wagner

Deeper Value: RJ Hampton, Gary Harris, Jarred Vanderbilt

GPP Sleeper: RJ Hampton

Chicago Bulls @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 220

Vegas Spread: Chi -9

Starting with the Bulls, we’ll need some news on Nikola Vucevic, as he comes in as questionable here, but he did practice yesterday so that is a good sign. I’m going to operate under the assumption that he’s a go, but something to monitor as we get closer to lock. The big news here is that Zach LaVine is back and he seems to already be back at his usual minutes so we can fire him up here against this bad Pistons defense. Thad Young is coming off a big game against the Hawks where he dropped 45.25 DraftKings points, he’s never a sexy play, but if he’s the last guy in your lineup it’s hard to dislike it. Lastly, you can make a case for cheap guys like Daniel Theis and Lauri Markkenen in GPPs if you’re looking at some MME-type plays especially on one of the lower total games of the day. From the Pistons, I would think Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee are probably out here as they played last game, but Cory Joseph is still up in the air. Isaiah Stewart has bounced back nicely a bit and he is firmly in play again here today.  Saddiq Bey has been really good outside of a few bad shooting games, but he is in play for GPPs. Josh Jackson is a GTD as well, and if he is out then it opens up alot for Killian Hayes and Hamidou Diallo, if he is in then he is very much in play as he has a sky high ceiling with Jackson out. If both those guys miss as well then I will take a few shots on Sekou Doumbouya as well.

5-star play: Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Isaiah Stewart, Cory Joseph, Saddiq Bey, Thad Young

Deeper Value: Sekou Doumbouya, Killian Hayes, Hamidou Diallo, Daniel Theis

GPP Sleeper: Sekou Doumbouya

Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Phx -7.5

Starting with the Suns, it’s always tough for me to get to this Suns team when they’re at full strength, but Devin Booker and Chris Paul are both fine options if you’re looking to get exposure here. Paul is coming off a massive game against the Cavs where he dropped 72 FanDuel points just a few games ago. DeAndre Ayton had a nice bounce-back game last time out as well, I don’t generally love targeting big men against Anthony Davis though, he can be a bruiser down low. Then we get to these wings with guys like Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Torrey Craig. They’ll all see solid run with Jae Crowder off the court, but Bridges is pretty easily your safest option. I don’t really see a way that fading Johnson and Craig can kill your lineups, but they’re solid value options nonetheless. One last name I’ll mention is Cameron Payne, he always gets overlooked because we’ve gotten better value open up lately, but if you’re ever strapped for value, he’s a nice target and a pretty consistent 18-20 fantasy points. Now for the Lakers, Anthony Davis is going to be a premier play here with LeBron likely out again here with that ankle. I do like getting to him here at this price tag in a pace-up matchup against a team that they may see in the playoffs. Andre Drummond has looked solid over his past five games or so, the Suns have struggled with big men all season long, you can go right back to him here for GPPs. I’ll never trust him in cash games though, especially this season. Dennis Schroder is still out for health protocols here, so we can go right back to Alex Caruso for value as he’ll likely continue to start at PG. I probably won’t get to Kyle Kuzma much here, I think you can do better than him in this spot unless AD is out. Lastly, Montrezl Harrell has seen his minutes cut pretty substantially since Drummond arrived and now with Davis back he’ll just be a fade for me here.

5-star play: Anthony Davis, Chris Paul

4-star play: Devin Booker, Andre Drummond, Alex Caruso

Deeper Value: DeAndre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Torrey Craig, Kyle Kuzma

GPP Sleeper: Alex Caruso, Cameron Payne

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 221.5

Vegas Spread: Sac -9.5

Starting with the Thunder, Lu Dort just continues to look good from a fantasy perspective, but he is a GTD again here, so if he misses then it opens up a lot for other guys. Darius Bazley has looked pretty good over his last handful of games, but I like the price tag much better on FanDuel. Theo Maledon has been solid but a bit underwhelming, although he had success here last game. Moses Brown has seemingly disappeared since signing that multi-year contract with the Thunder, he’s a deep MME guy for just because we know the ceiling is there somewhere and this could be a nice spot for him in a pace up game. Isaiah Roby has been grabbing some of those Brown minutes and has looked pretty good as of late, I would rather take the chance on him and he doesn’t use up a center spot but I hate the price on FanDuel. Aleksej Pokusevski looks like he’ll be out here as well, which opens up more minutes for Gabriel Deck who has secretly been a FPPM monster when given the time. Ty Jerome also played solid minutes and put up 36 FPs last time out, but he did miss last game so that is something to keep an eye on as well.

From the Kings, I’m going to operate under the assumption that De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes are both out again here, so let’s run that data with these guys out!

  • Delon Wright – 25.2% usage rate; 1.24 fpm
  • Terence Davis – 19.9% usage rate; 0.88 fpm
  • Buddy Hield – 28.3% usage rate; 1.13 fpm

These would be my three favorite options on the Kings, but you can obviously get to some of these other guys like Richaun Holmes, Marvin Bagley, and Moe Harkless. These guys are crushing with Fox, Barnes, and Haliburton out so we can go right back to well here in a good matchup against the Spurs.

5-star play: Delon Wright, Darius Bazley

4-star play: Lu Dort, Terence Davis, Buddy Hield, Richaun Holmes, Marvin Bagley

Deeper Value: Gabriel Deck, Ty Jerome

GPP Sleeper: Gabriel Deck, Terence Davis
