Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
I want to give a quick shoutout to VIP Member “TheSoprano12” on their $100,000 win earlier this season!! Better go buy a Boban jersey after that one!
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Indiana Pacers
Vegas Total: 227.5
Vegas Spread: Ind -3.5
We’ll kick this slate off with the Wolves, D’Angelo Russell will be good to go here while Malik Beasley and Jaylen Nowell will be out. Russell played 24 minutes last time out on his way to 40.75 DraftKings points. I would want those minutes to be back up over 30 before I go back to him, however. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 53.5 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season and has at least 52 DraftKings points in seven straight games, it’s tough not to like him here. Anthony Edwards should continue to see big minutes and a ton of shot attempts even with Russell, but they just may not be AS big, he’s a solid GPP option but that price is getting to the point where I’m less on him. Lastly, Ricky Rubio is just kind of meh for me, on a big slate like this one we can find better options. From the Pacers, they’re a bit of a mess right now. Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, and Myles Turner are all questionable, while Turner was diagnosed with an ankle sprain yesterday, so he feels like he’s more doubtful than anything. Depending on the news I would expect Sabonis to slide over to the five and then we see Doug McDermott, LeVert, Brogdon, and Holiday start, but again just keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates, this is a nice spot for this team so we’ll want to get some exposure.
***I’m assuming Myles Turner is out below***
5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, Domantas Sabonis
4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, Doug McDermott, Anthony Edwards
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Caris LeVert, Doug McDermott, Ricky Rubio, D’Angelo Russell
Washington Wizards @ Orlando Magic
Vegas Total: 224.5
Vegas Spread: Was -3.5
Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal and Rui Hachimura are questionable here, but by now we know the drill, if Beal is out, fire up Russell Westbrook. Beal hasn’t played since 3/27, so if he does play he may be on some sort of minutes restriction. If Rui plays I have no issue going to him, but the price has started to climb on him. He’s going to see huge minutes in a great matchup, so I think there’s just enough meat on the bone for cash games at the very least. Deni Avdija has looked good as of late as well, he’s seen at least 32 minutes in five straight games and is a solid tournament option. Other than that, there isn’t much else I want from this team, other than the obligatory Alex Len GPP guy. From the Magic, we have more question marks, Michael Carter-Williams, Cole Anthony, and Khem Birch all questionable. Terrence Ross has seen his price come down to a more playable range and is in a great matchup with the Wizards, he’s scoring dependent which makes him hard to trust for cash games, but I’m good with him for GPPs. Wendell Carter Jr. has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games and looks to be settling into his new team. Chuma Okeke continues to produce as well, he fills the stat sheet pretty well so in a pace-up spot like this against a turnover-prone Westbrook, fire him up! Then you can round this team out with wing GPP guys like James Ennis and Dwayne Bacon, but not a whole lot of interest there. I would rather save some money and go down to RJ Hampton who has at least 28 DraftKings points in two straight.
5-star play: Russell Westbrook, Wendell Carter Jr.
4-star play: Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, Chuma Okeke, RJ Hampton
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Deni Avdija, Alex Len, James Ennis, Dwayne Bacon, RJ Hampton

New York Knicks @ Boston Celtics
Vegas Total: 215.5
Vegas Spread: Bos -3.5
Starting with the Knicks, Julius Randle scored 48 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and is seeing a ton of minutes as always, as long as he’s under $10k on DraftKings I’ll have some interest in him. RJ Barrett has been less than impressive as of late, as this team begins to get a bit healthier he’s seen his minutes fall just a little as well as his production, I think we can do better, the Celtics play good defense on wings as well. The same can be said for Alec Burks, the minutes and usage just aren’t there for me to love him. Reggie Bullock has looked good lately, going for at least 30 DraftKings points in two straight, he’s a solid cash option, he should have his minutes more secure than a guy like Burks. Derrick Rose and Elfrid Payton continue to split this backcourt pretty evenly, if it were a smaller slate I would have interest, but again, I think we can do better. Lastly, Nerlens Noel essentially has the center position to himself so I would expect those minutes to come up here and is a solid value option. From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown was held down by the Sixers defense last night and gets another slow-paced game here tonight, I can’t say I love the spot for him. Jayson Tatum has been held under 40 DraftKings points in three straight games and in a pace-down spot, I just don’t see the reason to go here in cash, but the upside is always there if you want to take a shot in GPPs. Kemba Walker continues to look solid, but I just don’t see the upside at this price range, I don’t see him going out there and dropping a 45-50 point game with consistency. Robert Williams played just 14 minutes last night as Embiid got him into quick foul trouble, he should have a much better go of it here tonight against Nerlens Noel and company. Lastly, Marcus Smart is a solid last piece for all formats at this price tag.
5-star play: Julius Randle
4-star play: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Robert Williams, Kemba Walker, Nerlens Noel
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: RJ Barrett, Derrick Rose, Elfrid Payton, Reggie Bullock, Marcus Smart
New Orleans Pelicans @ Brooklyn Nets
Vegas Total: 231.5
Vegas Spread: Bkn -10.5
Starting with the Pelicans, they’re starting to get a bit healthier, we saw Zion Williamson return last night and Lonzo Ball has been back for a few games. We’re still waiting on Brandon Ingram to rejoin the starting lineup, he comes in as questionable here. Zion didn’t look to be limited at all last night, he played 35 minutes on his way to 45 DraftKings points, this is an elite spot for him, but the price is way up there. Lonzo Ball has at least 52 DraftKings points in two straight games, I’ll go right back to him here, particularly if Ingram is out. The minutes on Eric Bledsoe are pretty locked in right now and in a good matchup, I’m fine getting back to him, just know that his good ole 12 point stinker is looming. Lastly, Isaiah Thomas made his Pelicans debut last night and played more than I was expecting. He played 25 minutes on his way to 14 DraftKings points, I would have more interest if he was cheaper but if some of these backup guards miss again, there’s a way he cracks 30 minutes. From the Nets, James Harden is going to be out for about two weeks or so until they re-evaluate him, but the Nets will get back Kevin Durant tonight. I would assume Durant is on some sort of minutes limit, so we can fire up Kyrie Irving pretty comfortably here. He has at least 54 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and gets an elite matchup with a terrible Pelicans defense. LaMarcus Aldridge came down to Earth after dropping 37 DraftKings points in his Nets debut, he’s more of a flyer option in GPPs. The same can be said for Joe Harris and the rest of this Nets team really.
5-star play: Zion Williamson, Kyrie Irving
4-star play: Lonzo Ball, Eric Bledsoe, Joe Harris
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Isaiah Thomas, Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joe Harris, Jeff Green

Memphis Grizzlies @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 229
Vegas Spread: Atl -2.5
Starting with the Grizzlies, Ja Morant comes into this game as questionable after suffering a back injury last night so keep an eye on him. He has been really up and down as of late, which hurts him as a cash game guy. I’ll leave him for GPPs due to the volatility and the tough matchup. Jonas Valanciunas has been in great form as of late, it’s not exactly the greatest matchup with Capela and company but he’s pretty matchup-proof and carries a huge ceiling. Dillon Brooks was pretty solid last time out and could see a few extra minutes with De’Anthony Melton out and Brandon Clarke coming in as questionable. The same can be said for Kyle Andreson, he has at least 30 DraftKings points in five of his last six games. From the Hawks, Trae Young bounced back last night going for 52.25 DraftKings points and is now under $9k on DraftKings, I love this spot for him especially at that price tag. Clint Capela continues to crush with John Collins out, he has at least 43 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and gets a solid matchup again here. Bogdan Bogdanovic bounced back last night as well, he won’t be consistently in the 45-50 range now that Trae is back, but we know he’s a solid basketball player. Danilo Gallinari threw up a dud last night, he’s pretty scoring dependent if he’s not grabbing rebounds and is scoring comes in mid-range jumpers and three-pointers so if he’s having a bad shooting night you may as well pack it up. Lastly, guys like Kevin Huerter and Lou Williams are fine GPP options but nobody I’m prioritizing.
5-star play: Trae Young
4-star play: Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson, Clint Capela, Bogdan Bogdanovic
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Kyle Anderson, Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, Lou Williams
Dallas Mavericks @ Houston Rockets
Vegas Total: 224.5
Vegas Spread: Dal -11.0
Starting with the Mavericks, it sounds like Kristaps Porzingis is going to return here which is good news for him in this matchup against the Rockets. Their interior defense is no bueno, actually, their entire defense is no bueno. Porzingis has a big ceiling in this spot if he can shoot better from deep. Luka Doncic is averaging 58.4 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Rockets this season. Porzingis didn’t play in either of those games, however, so those numbers are a bit skewed, he has a massive ceiling regardless which puts him in play as one of the top raw options on the slate. Other than those two the rest of this team is pretty much tournament options at best. From the Rockets, John Wall comes into this one as questionable so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status. He’s been out for about a week, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s limited at all. Christian Wood hasn’t been the dominant force that we saw before the all-star break and just feels overpriced right now. Kevin Porter Jr. has been solid as of late, but he’ll take a hit if Wall returns as well, I do like him if Wall is out again though. Then you can round the Rockets out with Jae’sean Tate and Kelly Olynyk who have had some nice games as of late, their serviceable tournament options if you fall in that price range.
5-star play: Luka Doncic
4-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Kevin Porter Jr., Jae’sean Tate, Kelly Olynyk
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: John Wall, Christian Wood, Josh Richardson, Tim Hardaway, Dorian Finney-Smith, Jaylen Brunson
Charlotte Hornets @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Vegas Total: 213.0
Vegas Spread: Cha -5.0
Starting with the Hornets, Terry Rozier looked pretty solid last game and with Malik Monk, LaMelo Ball, and Gordon Hayward all off the court there is going to be some extra usage and opportunity to go around for the rest of these starters. Devonte’ Graham scored 36 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season, I have no issue going right back to him here. PJ Washington has been held to 25 DraftKings points or under in six straight games, I don’t love the game environment enough to pay this price tag for a guy in his form. Lastly, Miles Bridges is a guy I do like at this price tag, the minutes are now pretty locked into around 30 with Hayward out and this kid can play. From the Thunder, Moses Brown has been held under 30 DraftKings points in three straight games, but the price has come down as well. This is a pretty nice rebounding spot for him and we know the minutes will be there. Aleksej Pokusevski is getting really solid run as well having at least 30 minutes in five straight games. He carries a nice ceiling as well and his floor is brought up by those minutes. Theo Maledon, Ty Jerome, and Kenrich Williams will run the backcourt and wings, none of them jump off the page as standout plays but they make sense at their respective prices.
5-star play: Moses Brown, Miles Bridges
4-star play: Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham, Aleksej Pokusevski
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: PJ Washington, Ty Jerome, Theo Maledon, Kenrich Williams

San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets
Vegas Total: 222
Vegas Spread: Den -7.0
Starting with the Spurs, Dejounte Murray comes into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the status of him. DeMar DeRozan looks like a fine option but I don’t love the price tag or matchup, I would prefer Murray to be out to get to him on this slate. Jakob Poeltl came down to Earth last time out and gets a tough matchup with Jokic in this one, I don’t see myself going back to him here. Derrick White has seen his price come up but would be a guy I’d have interest in if Murray is out as well. Lastly, we know the floor and ceiling that Keldon Johnson brings to the table. The Nuggets have been pretty bad against opposing wings on the season, but have upgraded with acquiring Aaron Gordon, I do still think you can get to Johnson in GPPs however. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic should do whatever he wants in this one, he scored 61 DraftKings points against the Spurs earlier this season. Jamal Murray ended up missing yesterday’s game and comes into this one as questionable, if he plays he’s a solid option against a Spurs team that has struggled with point guards this season. Michael Porter Jr. continues to be a very consistent option, ever since the all-star break you can basically pencil him in for 30+ DraftKings points. Aaron Gordon came down to Earth yesterday, he’s going to be volatile due to the other pieces around him, so more of a GPP guy. Lastly, Will Barton is in that same GPP boat, no issue with getting to him here.
5-star play: Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Dejounte Murray, DeMar DeRozan, Derrick White, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr.
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Keldon Johnson, Aaron Gordon, Will Barton
Utah Jazz @ Phoenix Suns
Vegas Total: 226
Vegas Spread: Utah -1.5
We round out the slate with two teams that I don’t really ever get much of when they’re fully healthy. Starting with the Jazz, everyone is a go here for them at the moment and in a tougher matchup with the Suns. I do like the matchup for Rudy Gobert, DeAndre Ayton isn’t exactly a great defender, so he should be able to get it done. Other than him I think you’re going to be looking more at GPP guys in Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson. From the Suns, they’re a full go as well with a tough matchup with the Jazz. The thing the Suns have going for them is the Jazz are playing pretty fast this season so it’s a nice spot for them if we can determine the correct guys to target, which is easier said than done. I would say Chris Paul is probably the safest option relative to salary for cash games otherwise you’re looking at tournament options with guys like Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, and Mikal Bridges.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Chris Paul
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Donovan Mitchell, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Jordan Clarkson
NBA Lock of the Day: Trae Young (DK – $8.8k; FD – $8.2k)
This is really more of a pricing play than anything for me, any time I see Young under $9k I pounce on him. He’s coming off a 52 point fantasy night last night and gets a good matchup with the Grizzlies tonight. He scored 52.75 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and the Research Station has him projected for around 47 DraftKings points tonight which would put him around 5.35x his price tag. At this moment I would imagine he makes my Core on our Cheat Sheets/Coaches Notes for tonight, come check out the other core plays as well!
