Dallas Mavericks @ Washington Wizards

This is a nice pace up spot for the Mavericks, who are coming off playing the Knicks last night in what was a very slow game. Starting with them, Luka Doncic is your obvious main target here, as the matchup is fantastic and he will be able to get whatever he wants here tonight. Kristaps Porzingis looked horrible last night, but he should bounce back here tonight in a great matchup. Tim Hardaway Jr. has also been solid coming off the bench, and I’ll have some interest in Jalen Brunson if he starts, but other than that I don’t target the Mavs too heavily. This is going to be a sneaky matchup to target here, as both these teams don’t play defense and they play fast and loose, really sneaky shootout potential here. Now for the Wizards, we just saw Russell Westbrook go nuclear again and Beal is a GTD once again here tonight. You know the drill by now, if Beal is out we can fire up Westy everywhere. Rui Hachimura has looked great the past week or so, and he continued that streak last night, he’s a solid play again here tonight. However, it looks like Davis Bertans will be back here in a limited role so that takes some of the shine off of him. Alex Len and Deni Avdija have both been playing solid minutes and neither break the bank, however it looks like Robin Lopez will continue to play solid minutes here with Gafford out with that ankle. Chandler Hutchison also saw some extra run in Gafford’s absense so I think we can go there again tonight for value, he let me down a bit the other night though so I hope he bounces back. Ish Smith is also back but he hasn’t played in months.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, Russell Westbrook
4-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Rui Hachimura, Bradley Beal (if in)
Deeper Value: Chandler Hutchison, Tim Hardaway, Jalen Brunson, Robin Lopez
GPP Sleeper: Robin Lopez
New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons

Starting with the Knicks, they’re on the 2nd half of a B2B after losing to the Mavericks last night, but they should be pretty much a full go here. Starting with them, Julius Randle is going to be your main target, as he does it all for this Knicks offense and he has the highest ceiling of anyone in this game. RJ Barrett has also been picking it up as of late, but with the return of Derrick Rose and Elfrid Payton it has taken some of the shine off of them. If both of them are out tonight for whatever reason he becomes a great play. Nerlens Noel has also seen some nice minutes with Mitch Robinson out, and he’s been performing very well. Overall though, this game shouldn’t be too fast paced so I won’t have a ton of ownership from either team. Now for the Pistons, if McGruder is out again then it’ll open up a ton of minutes for Saben Lee who has been really solid, but the price is coming up, but for good reason. Jerami Grant had a great game the other night as well, and he’s been heating up and that price on FanDuel is still way too cheap, he’s a great play everywhere. Mason Plumlee is also a great play here as the Knicks are just so-so against bigs. Saddiq Bey has also been trending in the wrong direction, but there are worse value plays on this slate as he can get hot from 3 as well, but he did look like he tweaked something last game, so it is something to keep an eye on here tonight.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Miami Heat

This is another game that I won’t be targeting too heavily, as both of these teams play at a slower pace, and this isn’t a good matchup for the Cavs in any way. Starting with the Cavs, Collin Sexton has been their rock offensively, and with Nance already out here tonight he should see even more usage. Darius Garland has been great as well, but his matchup leaves a lot to be desired as the Heat are one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. It looks like Kevin Love will be back here, but he’s likely limited so I don’t expect too much out of him. Jarrett Allen didn’t practice again either, so that leaves the Cavs pretty shorthanded here, Dean Wade will have to play some big minutes here and he’ll become a really good value play if Nance and Allen are both ruled out again. Cedi Osman would also be a solid value play if all those guys are out. Isaiah Hartenstein has also been great and he would be a solid value tonight as well. Now for the Heat, Jimmy Butler is a great play as always, and the price doesn’t break the bank and the Cavs don’t defend 3s well. Bam Adebayo struggled a bit last game, but he should bounce back here against the very weak interior defense of this Cavs team. Goran Dragic would also be in line for more minutes if Nunn is out again, as would Tyler Herro, both are GPP viable. I would also take a few shots on Gabe Vincent IF he starts, but outside of that there really isn’t too much to love from this game.
5-star play: Jimmy Butler
4-star play: Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland
Deeper Value: Cedi Osman, Dean Wade, Isaiah Hartenstein, Tyler Herro
GPP Sleeper: Gabe Vincent, Dean Wade
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Philadelphia 76ers

Starting with the Timberwolves, they’ve still been a mess defensively, but they do play fast and loose which bodes well for this Sixers team in a pace up spot. Starting with the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be their primary option on offense, but the matchup leaves a lot to be desired here as Embiid is likely back. Malik Beasley draws a decent matchup here as well, but the Sixers are still one of the better defensive teams in the NBA so it is something that I won’t be seeking out. Ricky Rubio missed last game, which would open up value for Jaylen Nowell again, and his minutes are blowout proof as well. Jaden McDaniels has secured that 4 spot for the Wolves as well, and he’s a solid value. However, with the likely blowout here I won’t be seeking out this game too much either. Now for the Sixers, Ben Simmons hasn’t been showing that ceiling we’ve expected from him with the injury to Embiid, but it looks like Joel Embiid will be back here tonight, so it takes the shine off of him here anyway. Tobias Harris has been the guy for them with Embiid out, but his usage will take a major hit as well with Embiid back even if he is limited. Seth Curry has been playing a ton of minutes as well, he’s a great value for them here tonight, and we just need Dwight Howard to still get around 20-25 minutes for him to smash value, as I don’t expect Embiid to be a full go here. Shake Milton has also been great off the bench, but he is pretty scoring dependent so he’s going to be a GPP only play here tonight.
5-star play: Joel Embiid, Karl-Anthony Towns
4-star play: Malik Beasley, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris
Deeper Value: Seth Curry, Jaylen Nowell, Dwight Howard, Shake Milton
GPP Sleeper: Jaden McDaniels
Indiana Pacers @ San Antonio Spurs

This is going to be an interesting game to target here, as we have some injury news here that could open up a ton of value. Starting with the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis exited last night’s game with an injury, and if he misses it’ll open up a ton of things on this Pacers team. Malcolm Brogdon missed last night as well, so that is something to keep an eye on as well. Myles Turner would be the biggest beneficiary here, and the matchup is really good for him against this Spurs team. Caris LeVert would also be a great play if Brogdon were to miss again. It would also open up things for TJ McConnell as well as we all know he produces when given minutes. Jeremy Lamb would be in for a bigger role as well, as would Justin Holiday if those guys were to miss. I think we could also see some Goga Bitadze minutes here as well, he would make for a very nice value play if he starts here tonight. Now for the Spurs, DeMar Derozan is the heart and soul of this team, and he has a great matchup here going up against tthe injury riddled Pacers right now. Dejounte Murray has also been great and he gets a good matchup if Brogdon is out as well. Keldon Johnson has also been up and down, but he makes for a great GPP play with his upside as the Pacers have been giving up a ton of FPs to 4s over the past few weeks. Jakob Poeltl will also have a solid matchup here as Turner has been trending in the wrong direction defensively. Patty Mills is also a nice value play coming off the bench as he can get hot in a quick and he is dirt cheap.
5-star play: Caris LeVert, DeMar Derozan
4-star play: Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb, Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, Jakob Poeltl
Deeper Value: Patty Mills, TJ McConnell, Goga Bitadze
GPP Sleeper: Keldon Johnson
Orlando Magic @ Utah Jazz
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Magic, they’ve stayed surprisingly competitive these past few games, and the Jazz are on the 2nd half of a B2B so this one could possibly stay close as well. Starting with the Magic, Chuma Okeke is going to be my favorite play from the Magic once again, as they really want to develop and get him some minutes, but the matchup isn’t the greatest for him here tonight. James Ennis and Khem Birch also saw a ton of minutes at the 4/5 and they’re both cheap again here tonight so I like them as well and I don’t expect Wendell Carter or Otto Porter to factor in too much, however Birch missed last game with an illness so that is something to keep an eye on. Dwayne Bacon will also take over the SG role here, he should play a ton of minutes again here tonight. However, Terrence Ross returned last game, and he is a solid play here, but I don’t love his price on FanDuel. The biggest piece will be Michael Carter-Williams has also been solid, but his price has come up a bit, but he missed last game as well, so that is something to monitor here tonight. Mo Bamba also saw 20+ minutes and he’s a great FPPM when he gets the minutes as we saw last game, so he’s someone to look at to get different in GPPs. Now for the Jazz, they’re on the 2nd half of a B2B, and I could see them resting some of their guys here tonight so that is something to monitor. Donovan Mitchell is apparently afraid of planes now, but he’ll be back in Utah where he is comfortable and the Magic are allowing a ton of FPs to guards, which also puts Mike Conley in play. If either of those guys were to sit out this game then it would also make Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson really nice value plays. Rudy Gobert should also be able to get whatever he wants here against this Magic team and he is very viable here. Lastly, Bojan Bogdanovic has had an off year, but he should see plenty of open 3 opportunities in this one so he is in play for GPPs.
5-star play: Chuma Okeke, Donovan Mitchell
4-star play: Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert, Khem Birch, Terrence Ross
Deeper Value: Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles, Jordan Clarkson, Dwayne Bacon, James Ennis
GPP Sleeper: Rudy Gobert
Milwaukee Bucks @ Sacramento Kings
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Both of these teams are on the 2nd half of a B2B, so we could see some starters resting, but overall this will be a great game to target. Starting with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo went off for 47 actual points last night, and this Kings team is horrible defensively so he could do something similar here tonight. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday will be solid cash plays once again here, who would become core if Giannis were to miss this game for any reason. Brook Lopez is a decent value play here tonight as well, as is Donte DiVincenzo, but overall those are really the only guys that I want to be targeting from this Bucks team as the usage is pretty centered around their big 3. Now for the Kings, De’Aaron Fox had a horrible game last night, but I can see him coming to play here, and his price has come down finally on FanDuel. Tyrese Haliburton seems to have hit that rookie wall over the past 2 weeks, which benefits Buddy Hield as he’s seen an uptick in usage. Richaun Holmes has also been solid, and he’s shown to have some crazy ceiling games from time to time. Harrison Barnes also had a really good game last night, and he’s in play in all aspects here tonight as well.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, De’Aaron Fox
4-star play: Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Richaun Holmes, Harrison Barnes
Deeper Value: Buddy Hield, Donte DiVincenzo, Brook Lopez
GPP Sleeper: Tyrese Haliburton
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Theo Maledon is going to be the primary option here, as he will run this offense as it looks like SGA will be out again here tonight. Moses Brown has also been a revelation for this Thunder team, and he has a really good mathcup here again tonight. Isaiah Roby is also in play here, as he’s been great as well for his price and the Blazers struggle against 4s. Svi Mykhailiuk is also in play here for value, especially if Ty Jerome is out again here tonight. Overall the Thunder are a team that we can target for value here tonight. Now for the Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard is their primary option on offense, and the matchup is much better here tonight, but we all know that when he is on he is matchup proof so the ceiling is definitely there. CJ McCollum has also been trending upward since his return from injury, but he has been scoring dependent and the matchup does leave a bit to be desired here, and the addition of Norman Powell will likely eat into his usage the most of any of the Blazers starters. Enes Kanter also has a great matchup, but Jusuf Nurkic is back here but he will be on a limit, either way he eats into his ceiling. Carmelo Anthony has been really good for them off the bench, and I like his prospects tonight more against this Thunder 2nd team defense. Overall this is a decent game to target, but there is definite blowout risk here as well.
5-star play: Damian Lillard, Theo Maledon
4-star play: CJ McCollum, Moses Brown, Isaiah Roby, Norman Powell, Jusuf Nurkic
Deeper Value: Carmelo Anthony, Enes Kanter, Svi Mykhailiuk
GPP Sleeper: Moses Brown
NBA Lock of the Day:
(Theo Maledon FD: $5,900 DK: $6,000)
Theo has been the new revelation for this Thunder team as the Moses Brown shine has begun to wear off. He put up 33 actual points last game and is finally looking more aggressive offensively which is what he needs to hit that ceiling. If Ty Jerome is out again here tonight then he becomes a fantastic play again here tonight, as the Trailblazers are one of the worst teams in the NBA at defending the PG position and he doesn’t break the bank anywhere.
