Boston Celtics @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Here we have what should be a pretty competitive game, even though it is not on the main slate. From the Celtics, Robert Williams will be out again here which gives us a value center with some upside on both sites in Tristan Thompson. He played at least 25 minutes in back-to-back games now, but the price has come up on him and he still can be volatile. Jayson Tatum has been looking really good the past two games with Jaylen Brown out, as he’s putting up a lot more secondary stats than he usually does. Kemba Walker had a fantastic game last time out as well and the matchup is fantastic for him here. Jaylen Brown also will play here this afternoon, so he is firmly in play as well. From the Hornets, Terry Rozier has been on a tear with Ball and Graham out, if both are out again tonight then he would become a premier play, although Devonte’ Graham has been back for the past few games. PJ Washington has also been up and down, but he is playing big minutes with all the injuries to Charlotte. With Malik Monk, LaMelo Ball, and Gordon Hayward all off the court Miles Bridges has been thriving in that role. Jalen McDaniels has also been solid, but with Washington healthy it caps his ceiling a bit.

5-star play: Terry Rozier

4-star play: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington

Deeper Value: Marcus Smart, Tristan Thompson

GPP Sleeper: Jalen McDaniels, PJ Washington

Phoenix Suns @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Now this looks like a game that we will want to target, as it is a pace up spot for the Suns and they have been playing some great basketball. Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker and Chris Paul kind of grade out similarly in two different price ranges, but the matchup for both of them is fantastic here as the Nets play virtually 0 defense. DeAndre Ayton is a fine option, but he can be jekyll and hide sometimes with his play so he’s more of a GPP option but the matchup is really good for him as well. Then you can round this team out at the wings with Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson as we already have news that Dario Saric and Jae Crowder will be out here. From the Nets, we’ll need some news here as well with Kevin Durant coming in as questionable. Kyrie Irving is a solid play regardless of if Durant plays or not, but his price is friendlier on FanDuel, but the matchup isn’t the best for him going up against CP3. Joe Harris and Bruce Brown are fine GPP options as well, but why not just save the money and go down to Landry Shamet who is a similar fantasy producer? A case can be made for Blake Griffin as well, but I definitely don’t love it. Jeff Green has also been playing really well over the past few games, and DeAndre Jordan will also see around 20-25 minutes here as they’ll need a big body to handle Ayton downlow.

5-star play: Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul

4-star play: Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Kevin Durant, Joe Harris

Deeper Value: Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, DeAndre Jordan

GPP Sleeper: Landry Shamet, Bruce Brown

Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trail Blazers

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas is a GTD with that concussion here, if he misses then it’ll put Xavier Tillman back into play here in a great matchup. They did get Jaren Jackson Jr. will be out here for injury management so that opens up more minutes for Brandon Clarke here as well. I love the matchup for Ja Morant, he showed us his huge ceiling a few days ago where he went for 70 + FPs and the matchup here against Dame doesn’t get much better and he’s been fantastic with JoVal out. Then the rest of these guys are going to be hard to measure as this team gets healthier, Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson would probably be my favorite options, as they’re locked into the best minutes. From the Blazers, they’re getting back to full strength as well, Damian Lillard has a really nice price at under $9k on FanDuel, I like him a good deal over there. The rest of this team is pretty much priced for Dame being out so they’re hard to get to. I do think you can get to Jusuf Nurkic here, as he is coming off of his best game of the year and gets the same exact matchup here, so he’s definitely someone I have interest in. Norman Powell and CJ McCollum are also in play for GPPs, but I don’t love either of their ceilings with the Blazers healthy here.

5-star play: Ja Morant, Damian Lillard

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, Jusuf Nurkic, Xavier Tillman, Kyle Anderson

Deeper Value: Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke

GPP Sleeper: Xavier Tillman

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Cavaliers, Collin Sexton has already been ruled out for this one, so this thrusts Darius Garland into the spotlight as a really good play here tonight in a pace up matchup. Jarrett Allen has been pretty bad relative to his price tag as of late, but the matchup is fantastic for him here and it could help get him going again. Kevin Love has been really solid as of late and dropped nearly 40 fantasy points on the Hornets a few games back, he’s a nice GPP option in this one especially as this Wizards defense in basically non-existent. Now for the Wizards, how can you not just keep going back to Russell Westbrook? His price tag really hasn’t moved and he’s dropping 60 fantasy points nightly, I’m just going to keep locking in the points here and the matchup is fantastic here as CLE really struggles against guards anyway even with Sexton. I’m not sure how much he still has on the team since he didn’t play with those guys, but he scored 60 in this spot earlier this season regardless. Bradley Beal has looked good as of late as well, not to mention he has at least 35 minutes in five straight games, it appears he’s got his footing back and the scoring upside is there. The only other guy I’ll have much interest in from the Wizards is Daniel Gafford. He has at least 33 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and is sub $4k on DraftKings, the price on FanDuel is probably too high for my liking. He’ll be a fantastic play especially if Davis Bertans were to miss for any reason.

5-star play: Russell Westbrook, Darius Garland

4-star play: Jarrett Allen, Kevin Love, Bradley Beal

Deeper Value: Daniel Gafford, Cedi Osman

GPP Sleeper: Daniel Gafford

Milwaukee Bucks @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Here we have an interesting game as well, as the Bucks are on the 2nd half of a B2B, so if history repeats itself I could see them resting a few guys here, so this is a game we’ll have to watch for news. From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo bounced back a bit last time out, and the minutes are back as he’s been dominant again the past few games. This feels like a game the Bucks should get up for, so I like taking a shot on him here, and he usually shines in games like these. I still think the prices on Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Bobby Portis are just a bit too high with Giannis back. You can make a case for the guards in tournaments but the matchup isn’t the greatest on a decent sized slate, so I’ll likely go elsewhere. I do think you can make a strong case for Brook Lopez but he’s never really a guy that I go out of my way to target. Trae Young has been ruled out while Clint Capela and Danilo Gallinari are both questionable. Let’s run some numbers with Young, DeAndre Hunter, and Cam Reddish off the court this season, assuming both Capela and Gallinari play:

  • Clint Capela – 22.7% usage rate; 1.43 fpm
  • Kevin Huerter – 20.4% usage rate; 0.81 fpm
  • Bogdan Bogdanovic – 24.7% usage rate; 1.0 fpm
  • John Collins – 29.8% usage rate; 1.20 fpm

These are the main guys I’ll have interest in as well as Brandon Goodwin who I would assume gets the start for Young here, he would be a great value play on DraftKings, but that price on FanDuel is a bit harder to swallow. Clint Capela is really the guy I’ll want here, as he played last game and dominated as well. Kevin Huerter also had a down shooting game and he is a really nice GPP option here tonight. If Capela were to miss, then Onyeka Okongwu would be a premier value play.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Clint Capela

4-star play: Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, John Collins, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton

Deeper Value: Brandon Goodwin, Onyeka Okongwu (if Capela out)

GPP Sleeper: Kevin Huerter

Indiana Pacers @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

This should be one of the lower total games on the slate, but there is some value here that we can take advantage of. From the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner will continue to be out which opens up a ton of frontcourt minutes. We saw Oshae Brissett get the start last time out and he’ll be forced into big minutes again. We’ll need to keep an eye on the status of Doug McDermott and Goga Bitadze, but he seems like a solid bet to get big minutes yet again here. If Goga is active he’s a great option as well, he would likely get the start at center, he did miss last night though. Then the trio of guards on this team are great options as well and had huge games last time out. Malcolm Brogdon would be my favorite but Caris LeVert and TJ McConnell are certainly in play with how much usage is going to be missing from this offense. Now for the Magic, Mo Bamba has been on a tear but his hip injury has been touch and go, so if he misses then Wendell Carter Jr. will see a ton of run here again tonight, but he is a GTD himself as well, so we need to keep an eye on news for both of those guys. Cole Anthony and RJ Hampton have also both been getting big minutes and I love Cole here as he should get the bulk of those minutes with MCW out for the next few games. Terrence Ross is also in play here with the usage he gets with the 2nd unit, and the price finally has come down. Chuma Okeke has also been fantastic the past few games, and he is very much in play again here tonight at his price.

5-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert

4-star play: Cole Anthony, RJ Hampton, Mo Bamba, Chuma Okeke, TJ McConnell

Deeper Value: Mo Bamba

GPP Sleeper: Chuma Okeke, Mo Bamba (if Carter is out)

Sacramento Kings @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Here is the game to target, as it is the hammer game and neither of these teams play much defense. Starting with the Warriors, Steph Curry came back down to Earth last game but the upside certainly is there, especially with Fox being out due to health protocols. I’ll never have an issue playing Draymond Green, it’s a solid matchup with Whiteside or Holmes depending on whether or not Holmes plays. The same can be said for Kelly Oubre and Andrew Wiggins, the Kings have struggled with opposing wings this season so I like getting to them in this spot. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox has also been ruled out here due to health protocols so this opens up a ton of usage in that front court. Both Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield are solid options as well, they’ll play a ton of minutes. Tyrese Haliburton will be the biggest beneficiary here, as he’ll start and take on Fox’s role here so the upside is there for him in this one. Hassan Whiteside started last game, but the minutes are going to be volatile regardless. It’s a great matchup which makes him a solid tournament play. It sounds like Richaun Holmes may return here tonight, if he is in then I’ll like him in GPPs as GS is horrible against bigs.

5-star play: Stephen Curry, Tyrese Haliburton

4-star play: Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre

Deeper Value: Richaun Holmes, Tyrese Haliburton

GPP Sleeper: Tyrese Haliburton

NBA Lock of the Day:

(Tyrese Haliburton FD: $5,800 DK: $6,200)

With Fox and Bagley off the court, Haliburton averages about a FPPM and he should play close to 40 minutes in this game. The matchup is also fantastic for him going up against Steph in a game where he’ll have to be more aggressive offensively. I think he has a floor of around 35 FPs with 45+ upside and at this price he is a fantastic option here tonight.
