Phoenix Suns @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker and Chris Paul kind of grade out similarly in two different price ranges. I’ll like them and they’re on the 2nd half of a B2B on the east coast so I’m not too high on either of them. DeAndre Ayton is a fine option, but he can be jekyll and hide sometimes with his play so he’s more of a GPP option. Then you can round this team out at the wings with Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder as filler pieces. From the Celtics, Robert Williams will be out again here which gives us a value center with some upside on both sites in Tristan Thompson. He played at least 25 minutes in back-to-back games now, but the price has come up on him and he still can be volatile. Jayson Tatum bounced back nicely last time out against the Warriors putting up a triple double which was the first of his career as he had an off shooting night. Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker come into this one as questionable, so if one or both of them need to miss here, he stands to benefit. You can say the same thing for Marcus Smart, if both Walker and Brown play I don’t think I’ll have much interest in this team as a whole, so keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed for updates.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton

Deeper Value: Marcus Smart, Tristan Thompson, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder

GPP Sleeper: Cam Johnson

New Orleans Pelicans @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: Nop -7.5

Starting with the Pelicans, Zion Williamson has been lighting it up in all aspects, and his price is approaching 10K but for good reason. He’s a premier play here tonight against this weak Magic defense and I expect him to have an absolute field day here. Brandon Ingram has also returned and looked pretty good. Naji Marshall also continues to start, and he is a solid value here, especially if Ball were to miss as he starts when Ball is out. Speaking of him, Lonzo Ball also has a great matchup here against Anthony as well and the Magic have been bleeding FPs to opposing guards over the past few weeks. James Johnson is also playing big minutes off the bench as well, I like him for value tonight again as well but he did miss last game so that is something to keep an eye on.  Now for the Magic, Mo Bamba has been on a tear but his hip injury has been touch and go, so if he misses then Wendell Carter Jr. will see a ton of run here again tonight. Cole Anthony and RJ Hampton have also both been getting big minutes and I love Cole here as he should get the bulk of those minutes with MCW out for the next few games. Terrence Ross is also in play here with the usage he gets with the 2nd unit, and with Michael Carter-Williams out for the next few games it pushes him into playable territory here but I hate his price tag, but he also missed last game so that is something to keep an eye on as well. Chuma Okeke has also been fantastic the past few games, and he is very much in play again here tonight at his price.

5-star play: Zion Williamson

4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Cole Anthony, Wendell Carter Jr.

Deeper Value: Chuma Okeke, RJ Hampton, James Johnson, Naji Marshall

GPP Sleeper: Cole Anthony

Philadelphia 76ers @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

From the Sixers, we’ll need some injury news here as well as Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons come into this one as questionable after missing last nights game. That being said, it’s really just Joel Embiid hogging all the usage here so he’d be a phenomenal play, he’s a great spend-up option on both sites. Outside of him, I guess you can get to Ben Simmons if he is in, on FanDuel, but the price on DraftKings just isn’t there for me yet. He’s looked a little better over his past two games, but it’s still hard for me to trust him in this one. If him and Harris are both out, then it opens up minutes for Furkan Korkmaz who should have a field day here from 3, and Shake Milton would also be in play. From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo bounced back a bit last time out, but the minutes are still down a bit. This feels like a game the Bucks should get up for, so I like taking a shot on him here, and he usually shines in games like these. I still think the prices on Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Bobby Portis are just a bit too high with Giannis back. You can make a case for the guards in tournaments but the matchup isn’t the greatest on a big slate, so I’ll likely go elsewhere. I do think you can make a strong case for Brooke Lopez but he’s never really a guy that I go out of my way to target.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, Ben Simmons

Deeper Value: Furkan Korkmaz, Brooke Lopez, Shake Milton

GPP Sleeper: Furkan Korkmaz

Detroit Pistons @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

Starting with the Pistons, they should be near full strength here which decreases their fantasy value as a whole. Jerami Grant is a fine option but I just have a hard time trusting this Pistons team to play him in B2B games along with Plumlee, but as of now they aren’t on the injury report. Isaiah Stewart is a FanDuel only option for me tonight, not only is he much cheaper, but he’s also PF eligible and if one of Grant or Plumlee miss then he would be a lock again tonight. Saddiq Bey seems like he’s going to continue to get big minutes regardless of who is active, I’m good with him as a secondary option. Josh Jackson sees the bigger hit with these guys all active, he’s more of an MME guy for me on this slate. I like the price tag quite a bit on Mason Plumlee on DraftKings but man those minutes are going to be hard to trust, it’s going to be hard to use a center spot on him here. Cory Joseph is another guy that should see minutes regardless of who is active, but the price on him has come up as well. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan looked fine last game, but he’s priced up especially given the matchup as DET is horrible against guards. The price on Dejounte Murray is a bit better on both sites, he’s shown a nice floor/ceiling combo this season and is a guy I’ll have some interest in here as well. Derrick White is a fine mid-range option on both sites if you need him, but he’s more of a filler piece. I do like getting to some Jakob Poeltl even on FanDuel if you’re looking to save a little off of the top guys, Poeltl comes in with good recent production. Then, as always, Keldon Johnson is your GPP special. His floor is extremely low, but we’ve seen him pop off for a 50 burger a few times and I would actually consider him in cash games over on FanDuel at a dirt-cheap price tag.

5-star play: None

4-star play: DeMar Derozan, Saddiq Bey, Jerami Grant, Dejounte Murray

Deeper Value: Keldon Johnson, Isaiah Stewart, Josh Jackson, Derrick White

GPP Sleeper: Keldon Johnson

Charlotte Hornets @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: Chi -2.5

From the Hornets, Terry Rozier has been on a tear with Ball and Graham out, if both are out again tonight then he would become a premier play, while PJ Washington also 2 games ago and has looked fantastic even coming off the bench, I would expect him to be back in the starting lineup here tonight. With Malik Monk, LaMelo Ball, and Gordon Hayward all off the court Miles Bridges has been thriving in that role. Jalen McDaniels has also been solid, but with Washington back it puts a damper on his ceiling here. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine will continue to be out for them, so we can run some data with him off the, I’m going to pull a date range of the past four weeks instead of the season to get a better idea:

  • Coby White – 25.4% usage rate; 0.93 fpm
  • Nikola Vucevic – 29.1% usage rate; 1.53 fpm
  • Lauri Markkanen – 19.8% usage rate; 0.82 fpm
  • Patrick Williams – 18.0% usage rate; 0.76 fpm

These would be my favorite options on the Bulls, but you can make a case for guys like Daniel Theis, Thad Young, and Denzel Valentine for GPPs. I do like the price on Thad Young much better on FanDuel at $4.8k. Vucevic looks like a top option at center on FanDuel as well, he and Coby White have looked great in LaVine’s absence.

5-star play: Terry Rozier, Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: PJ Washington, Miles Bridges, Coby White, Lauri Markkanen

Deeper Value: Patrick Williams, Daniel Theis, Jalen McDaniels

GPP Sleeper: Patrick Williams

Los Angeles Lakers @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 2

Vegas Spread:

This is a game that I won’t be targeting much, as we have a low total and some injury riddled teams that really don’t make for a great fantasy game. From the Lakers, Andre Drummond seems to get hurt every time he’s out there, but he played 30 minutes last time out but he is in play here tonight. I think he makes sense for tournaments, but that’s about as far as I’ll go with him. Dennis Schroder is in play as well, but like I said I’m not really excited about playing anyone from this game. You can round this team out with GPP guys like Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell, I don’t know that I’ll have a whole lot of interest in getting a ton of exposure to this one. From the Mavericks, its pretty simple, Luka Doncic is your main target here and if Kristaps Porzingis isn’t resting here tonight then he is another target. These two guys hog the majority of the usage on this team. If KP is out, then it opens it up for guys like Dorian Finney-Smith and Josh Richardson who both see the biggest boosts there. Overall this isn’t a hammer game that I’m going to be targeting too heavily.

5-star play: Luka Doncic

4-star play: Andre Drummond, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma

Deeper Value: Montrezl Harrell, Dorian Finney-Smith, Josh Richardson

GPP Sleeper: Alex Caruso

NBA Lock of the Day:

(Luka Doncic FD: $11,400 DK: $11,000)

I know that he is pricey on both sites, but KP rarely plays on the 2nd half of B2Bs, and with him off the court Luka averages almost 1.7 FPPM and given how much usage he’ll get, he should be the top scoring option on this smaller slate here tonight. We don’t have a ton of value as of this moment, but right now I love Luka here tonight.
