Starting with the Sixers, Ben Simmons hasn’t been showing that ceiling we’ve expected from him with the injury to Embiid, but he gets a solid matchup here going up against Garland and Sexton, he’s firmly in play again here tonight as he is going to break out one of these nights. Tobias Harris has been the guy for them with Embiid out, and I like him in all formats here tonight especially if he matches up against old man Kevin Love, and Nance is already out. Seth Curry has been playing a ton of minutes as well, he’s a great value for them here tonight, and we just need Dwight Howard to not get ejected here for him to likely crush value. Shake Milton has also been great off the bench, but he is pretty scoring dependent. Now for the Cavs, Collin Sexton has been their rock offensively, and with Nance already out here tonight he should see even more usage. Darius Garland has been great as well, but his matchup leaves a lot to be desired as the Sixers are one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. It looks like Kevin Love will be back here, but he’s likely limited so I don’t expect too much out of him. Jarrett Allen didn’t practice again either, so that leaves the Cavs pretty shorthanded here, Dean Wade will have to play some big minutes here and he’ll become a really good value play if Nance and Allen are both ruled out again. Cedi Osman would also be a solid value play if all those guys are out.
5-star play: Tobias Harris
4-star play: Ben Simmons, Dwight Howard, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, Dean Wade
Deeper Value: Dean Wade, Cedi Osman, Seth Curry, Shake Milton
GPP Sleeper: Dwight Howard, Shake Milton
Washington Wizards @ Detroit Pistons

This is going to be a sneaky matchup to target here, as both these teams don’t play defense and they play fast and loose, really sneaky shootout potential here. Starting with the Wizards, we just saw Russell Westbrook go nuclear last night in an all out effort to win, and Beal is a GTD for the 3rd night in a row. You know the drill by now, if Beal is out we can fire up Westy everywhere. Rui Hachimura has looked great the past week or so, and he continued that streak last night, he’s a solid play again here tonight. Alex Len and Deni Avdija have both been playing solid minutes and neither break the bank, however it looks like Robin Lopez will continue to play solid minutes here with Gafford out with that ankle. Chandler Hutchison also saw some extra run in Gafford’s absense so I think we can go there again tonight for value, he let me down a bit the other night though so I hope he bounces back. Now for the Pistons, if McGruder is out again then it’ll open up a ton of minutes for Saben Lee who has been really solid, but the price is coming up, but for good reason. Jerami Grant had a great game as well last night, and he’s been heating up and that price on FanDuel is still way too cheap, he’s a great play everywhere. Mason Plumlee is also a great play here as WAS is horrible against bigs. Saddiq Bey has also been trending in the wrong direction, but there are worse value plays on this slate as he can get hot from 3 as well.
5-star play: Russell Westbrook, Jerami Grant
4-star play: Rui Hachimura, Saben Lee, Mason Plumlee
Deeper Value: Robin Lopez, Alex Len, Deni Avdija, Chandler Hutchison
GPP Sleeper: Chandler Hutchison, Saben Lee
Charlotte Hornets @ Brooklyn Nets

Here we get another solid matchup, as both of these teams play pretty fast without a lot of defense. Starting with the Hornets, with LaMelo Ball out for the rest of the year, the scoring load has fallen on Terry Rozier, he’s been getting more shots these past few games and I’d expect that to continue tonight, just know that he is pretty scoring dependent for his fantasy points but the matchup is great going up against this Nets team. Devonte’ Graham will take on a bigger role as well, and he’s been solid and doesn’t break the bank on either site. Gordon Hayward will also draw a ton of usage here with LaMelo out, as he’s been seeing a ton of minutes and I’d expect the same tonight. PJ Washington draws a solid matchup as well, and he doesn’t break the bank either. Malik Monk has also been great off the bench, he missed the past 2 games, but if he were to miss again then Cody Martin and Miles Bridges would be in line for increased roles as well. Now for the Nets, it looks like Kevin Durant will be out for a couple more games, and with it being the 2nd half of a B2B, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kyrie Irving sit this one out. This would lead to a 40% usage rate for James Harden who would be a borderline lock here in the matchup with the upside he has and with the way he’s been playing lately, however, he injured his hamstring last night, so he’s a GTD here as well, if he is out then it’ll be a free for all. Bruce Brown would also be in for a bigger role, and he’s been solid when given minutes. I’d also have a few shares of Blake Griffin as his minutes have been trending up, and Joe Harris would be in line for more shots as well. Lastly, Nic Claxton would be in line for some solid minutes as well if Aldridge misses this game as well.
5-star play: James Harden, Gordon Hayward
4-star play: Devonte’ Graham, Terry Rozier, Malik Monk, Bruce Brown, Blake Griffin
Deeper Value: Joe Harris, Cody Martin, Miles Bridges, Nic Claxton
GPP Sleeper: Miles Bridges
Golden State Warriors @ Miami Heat
Vegas Total: 219
Vegas Spread: Mia -2.5
Here this isn’t a game that I’ll be targeting heavily unless we get some news that the Heat will be resting some guys on the 2nd half of a B2B. Starting with the Warriors, the obvious play here is going to be Steph Curry has he is back and will get his full minutes. Kelly Oubre and Andrew Wiggins would also be solid plays here, but I don’t love either of them as this game will be one of the lower totals of the night. James Wiseman is a solid value play, but he’s been trending in the wrong direction as of late. Draymond Green actually has the best matchup of any of them here, and this is a game where we could see one of his elusive triple-doubles so I like him in GPPs. Outside of that I won’t be playing any Warriors though. Now for the Heat, Jimmy Butler is a great play as always, and the price doesn’t break the bank. Bam Adebayo struggled a bit last game, but he should bounce back here against the very weak interior defense of this Warriors team. Goran Dragic would also be in line for more minutes if Nunn is out again, as would Tyler Herro, both are GPP viable. I would also take a few shots on Gabe Vincent IF he starts, but outside of that there really isn’t too much to love from this game.
5-star play: Steph Curry, Bam Adebayo
4-star play: Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, Kelly Oubre, Andrew Wiggins, Goran Dragic
Deeper Value: Tyler Herro, Gabe Vincent, James Wiseman
GPP Sleeper: Tyler Herro
Orlando Magic @ New Orleans Pelicans
Vegas Total: 217.5
Vegas Spread: Nop -9
Starting with the Magic, they’ve stayed surprisingly competitive these past few games, and the Pels may be without Zion Williamson here tonight with that finger issue. Starting with the Magic, Chuma Okeke is going to be my favorite play from the Magic once again, as they really want to develop and get him some minutes. James Ennis and Khem Birch also saw a ton of minutes at the 4/5 and they’re both cheap again here tonight so I like them as well and I don’t expect Wendell Carter or Otto Porter to see more than 20 minutes again tonight. Dwayne Bacon will also take over the SG role here, he should play a ton of minutes again here tonight. However, Terrence Ross returned last game, and he is a solid play here, but I don’t love his price on FanDuel. The biggest piece will be Michael Carter-Williams has also been solid, but his price has come up a bit, but he went off last game so it is something to watch. Mo Bamba also saw 20+ minutes and he’s a great FPPM when he gets the minutes as we saw last game, so he’s someone to look at to get different in GPPs. Now for the Pelicans, if Zion were to miss this game, Brandon Ingram would be a core play here as he would take on a ton more usage. Josh Hart would be in line for more minutes as well, and I’d even have some shares of Eric Bledsoe in GPPs, especially if Lonzo Ball is out again here tonight. Nickeil Walker-Alexander would be a great play as well, especially if Lonzo is out again, and if Jaxson Hayes is in here he’d see more minutes with Zion out as well.
5-star play: Brandon Ingram
4-star play: Chuma Okeke, Khem Birch, Michael Carter-Williams, Josh Hart
Deeper Value: Nickeil Walker-Alexander, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Hart
GPP Sleeper: Jaxson Hayes, Mo Bamba
Atlanta Hawks @ San Antonio Spurs
Vegas Total: 220.5
Vegas Spread: Atl -1
This should be a great game, as the Hawks are playing really well, and the Spurs are still hanging onto a playoff spot in the West. Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young is the premier play here, as the matchup is great here going up against a Spurs defense that can’t defend guards. Clint Capela has a great matchup here, as Poeltl isn’t as athletic as him. John Collins sprained his ankle in the last game, so I believe he will be out, this is a boost to both Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari as he’ll have a bigger role offensively with Collins out. I like both of them to see bigger roles here along with Capela. Lastly, Kevin Huerter saw a good amount of minutes off the bench, but it depends on whether or not DeAndre Hunter plays here, as he has been in and out with that knee issue. Now for the Spurs, DeMar Derozan is the heart and soul of this team, and he has a great matchup here going up against the Hawks lack of defense. Dejounte Murray has also been great and he gets a good matchup against Trae. Keldon Johnson has also been up and down, but he makes for a great GPP play with his upside as the Hawks are bad against 3/4s. Jakob Poeltl will also have a solid matchup here as Capela isn’t the greatest defender although he is very athletic. Patty Mills is also a nice value play coming off the bench as he can get hot in a quick and he is dirt cheap.
5-star play: Trae Young, Clint Capela, DeMar Derozan
4-star play: Danilo Gallinaro, Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, Jakob Poeltl
Deeper Value: Keldon Johnson, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Patty Mills
GPP Sleeper: Keldon Johnson
Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Clippers
Vegas Total: 220.5
Vegas Spread: Den -1.5
Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is the guy you want here tonight, he’ll be a core play for me in all formats as the pace and style of this game suit him perfectly, especially considering that the Clippers are without Ibaka again likely so Zubac is not athletic enough to hang with him. Aaron Gordon looked pretty solid in his debut, so I wouldn’t mind going there tonight, however with him in the fold we can likely now fade Paul Millsap for the rest of the year. Either way, Jamal Murray will play a ton of minutes here, as he saw close to 40 last game but the matchup isn’t the greatest for him, but it becomes better if Beverley is out again tonight. Michael Porter Jr. is also playing a ton of minutes, as we saw him play a ton of minutes last game, but the addition of Gordon will likely hurt him the most of any of the Nuggets. They’ll have a tight rotation here tonight, and their starters will play heavy minutes so those are the only guys that I’ll be targeting on the Nuggets tonight. Now for the Clippers, I can see Kawhi Leonard going HAM here tonight, as he’s been great and PG13 has been out. I think it’ll be a Paul George night here as well, as I don’t see him sitting out three games in a row unless it is a serious injury, he has a great matchup here. If Rondo is out again then I’ll want a ton of Reggie Jackson again as well. Luke Kennard was also great last night, I’ll want some of him if one of PG or Kawhi sits, and of course we can go back to Ivica Zubac again tonight but his price has caught up to his production unfortunately. If Kawhi misses, I’ll also have some shares of Terance Mann as well, but I like him either way as he’s slid into that Lou Williams role.
5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George
4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac
Deeper Value: Reggie Jackson, Terance Mann, PJ Dozier
GPP Sleeper: Reggie Jackson
NBA Lock of the Day:
(Devonte’ Graham FD: $5,600 DK: $6,400)
Here we have Devonte’ Graham on the docket as my lock right now. He has been trending in the right direction, and the Nets defense has been hot trash as they gave up a ton of points to the Rockets last night and may be without Harden as well. If Malik Monk is out again tonight its even better for him, but as long as LaMelo is out he’s going to be crushing and the price hasn’t caught up yet.
