Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
I want to give a quick shoutout to VIP Member “TheSoprano12” on their $100,000 win earlier this season!! Better go buy a Boban jersey after that one!
Early Slate:
Atlanta Hawks @ Los Angeles Lakers
Vegas Total: 219.5
Vegas Spread: Lal -4.0
We’ll get things started with an island game, so if you’re looking to play this one you’ll have to do so on the showdown slates. Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young scored 56.5 DraftKings points in this spot last time these two played. It’s not the best matchup for the Hawks but Young has proven to be pretty matchup proof this season. They will need the size of Clint Capela as well, so he’s certainly in play one a one-gamer as well. John Collins still looked solid last game even with Capela back in the lineup, but he has more volatility while Capela is in there so I would prefer him in GPPs. Danilo Gallinari was a guy who took a hit with Capela back however, he’s more of a GPP option due to his scoring dependency. Bogdan Bogdanovic finally had his first good game since returning from injury last time out, if you think he can keep it going it’s a nice price on him. Then you can round this team out with Kevin Huerter as a solid last option. From the Lakers, this is a pretty good spot for them as the Hawks aren’t playing a whole lot of defense, but they are playing slower which may be surprising to some people. LeBron James scored 49.5 DraftKings points against them last time they met up and is right there with Young as the top raw option on the showdown slate. Dennis Schroeder is in pretty good form other than a couple of duds a few games ago and gets a revenge game against his old squad. Montrezl Harrell only played 20 minutes last game which kept his production down, but I like going right back to him here as a GPP guy. Kyle Kuzma is your cash pivot off of Harrell and visa-versa, he’s the safer option but you’ll probably like your chances at a ceiling game more with Harrell. Then the rest of this team is really just GPP darts on guys like Markieff Morris, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
5-star play: Trae Young, LeBron James
4-star play: John Collins, Clint Capela, Kevin Huerter, Dennis Schroeder, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma
Deeper Value: Bogdan Bogdanovic, Markieff Morris, Talen Horton-Tucker
GPP Sleeper: Danilo Gallinari, Markieff Morris, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Main Slate:
Sacramento Kings @ Philadelphia 76ers
Vegas Total: 231
Vegas Spread: Phi -6.5
Starting with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox scored 60 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season. It’s a tough matchup for him as he’ll likely see a healthy dose of Simmons on defense but Embiid being out does hurt this defense a decent amount. The thing I don’t love about Fox is the price continues to increase, however. Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes have looked great as of late, particularly Hield. They’ve both been getting massive minutes and are guys I like to get to here. Marvin Bagley is going to miss some time with a fractured hand which all but locks Richuan Holmes into 30+ minutes and is in great form as he’s finally showing some consistency in his production. He has at least 50 DraftKings points in two of his last three and will see a nice boost with Embiid out as well. Tyrese Haliburton should continue to start for Bagley here, the price is pretty nice on him and the minutes will be there, I like him in all formats. From the Sixers, let’s look at some updated data with now Embiid and Seth Curry out for this team:
- Ben Simmons – 19.8% usage rate; 1.23 fpm
- Dwight Howard – 17.4% usage rate; 1.22 fpm
- Shake Milton – 29.6% usage rate; 1.08 fpm
- Tobias Harris – 28.5% usage rate; 1.1 fpm
These would be my favorite options on the Sixers with these guys out and it’s an incredible matchup against a really poor Kings defense. Simmons hasn’t been quite as good with Embiid off the court this season, but in this matchup, his ceiling is absolutely massive.
5-star play: Ben Simmons
4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Tyrese Haliburton, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Shake Milton
Deeper Value: Tony Bradley
GPP Sleeper: Buddy Hield, Hassan Whiteside, Tony Bradley, Danny Green
Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies
Vegas Total: 218.5
Vegas Spread: Mem -5.5
Starting with the Warriors, we kind of got screwed yesterday with Nico Mannion falling out of the rotation, but we have something to build on now with just seeing this matchup last night. It sounds like Steph Curry is doubtful for this game, here’s how the rest of the team plays out with him out this season:
- Andrew Wiggins – 29.2% usage rate; 1.02 fpm
- Kelly Oubre Jr. – 23.6% usage rate; 0.90 fpm
- Jordan Poole – 26.8% usage rate; 1.18 fpm
These would be my three favorite options from this team as well as Draymond Green (the sample size was under like 18 minutes, so wasn’t worth including). Poole may be my favorite of that group, he comes into this one in really good form. Andrew Wiggins had a massive game last night and a guy I’ll go right back to here, the Grizzlies struggle against opposing wings. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has been in really bad form as of late and had another stinker last night, it makes for a really interesting spot to target him in tournaments. We know the upside is there with him and the matchup is pretty nice if people are going to be off him after seeing his game logs. Jonas Valanciunas should be able to do whatever he wants against this frontcourt, he put up 38.5 DraftKings points in this spot last night, and a guy I’ll go right back to here. Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke are fine mid-range options on this team but nobody that I’m prioritizing on this slate. Then guys like Justise Winslow and De’Anthony Melton are sort of priced out with this team healthy. Now that this team is pretty much at full strength minus Jaren Jackson, it’s going to be tough to get too much of them outside of Joe Val and Morant.
5-star play: Andrew Wiggins, Ja Morant
4-star play: Kelly Oubre Jr., Jordan Poole, Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas
Deeper Value: Damion Lee
GPP Sleeper: Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke, Damion Lee

San Antonio Spurs @ Milwaukee Bucks
Vegas Total: 231
Vegas Spread: Mil -9.5
Starting with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan returned last night to play 36 minutes. I like getting to him here, they’ll need his scoring if they want to keep this one close. Dejounte Murray will continue to play huge minutes and I love his upside in a huge pace-up spot for the Spurs. Jakob Poeltl has at least 30 DraftKings points in three straight games, but it’s not the greatest matchup for him against a pretty big Bucks interior. Derrick White is a solid secondary option and a guy that could have a sneaky good game against this Bucks team, I like him as a mid-range play. Lastly, Keldon Johnson figured out how to play basketball finally, putting up 58.75 DraftKings points last time out. Maybe he can build off this and start playing like he was earlier this season, I like riding the hot game on him here on a short slate. From the Bucks, it’s worth noting that PJ Tucker will be available to make his Bucks debut here. We don’t know exactly how they’ll use him, but my assumption would be they close with him and move Giannis to the five which hurts minutes for Brook Lopez. I don’t know that we see that right away here, but it’s something to monitor. Giannis Antetokounmpo has at least 57 DraftKings points in five straight games and should do whatever he wants in this one, he’s an elite raw option as usual. The price on Khris Middleton is finally in a more playable range, I like him in this spot on a short slate. Jrue Holiday scored 40 DraftKings points last time out and the Spurs have struggled big-time against opposing point guards. The same can be said for Donte DiVincenzo who is in really good form as of late. Then you can round this team out with GPP options like Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday
4-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, Derrick White, Donte DiVincenzo, Khris Middleton
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Jakob Poeltl, Keldon Johnson, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis
Charlotte Hornets @ Los Angeles Clippers
Vegas Total: 232
Vegas Spread: Lac -9.5
Starting with the Hornets, Devonte’ Graham got his minutes into the 20’s last time out and was able to get over 20 fantasy points as well. His minutes will continue to climb so he’s an interesting cheaper option. LaMelo Ball has been pretty volatile as of late but makes sense as a GPP option, I don’t know that I can trust him in cash in this spot. That being said, the price on him is getting too low. Terry Rozier has been pretty consistent as of late and has at least 32 DraftKings points in three straight. Gordon Hayward is a fine option as well, but I hate the matchup against George and Kawhi on the wing. Cody Zeller is out for this game which means we could see more PJ Washington at the five which we’ve seen him produce really well in this season. I could see the Clippers going small on the other end with Ibaka as well. I like Washington quite a bit in this spot. Lastly, Malik Monk and Miles Bridges will continue to provide a spark off the bench and make for decent tournament options should you land on them. From the Clippers, speaking of Ibaka, he comes into this one as questionable, so be sure to keep an eye on his status. He was out last game and we saw Ivica Zubac get the start in his place. Zubac has played at least 35 minutes in two straight and looked great in both of them. If Ibaka is out again here I’ll go right back to him. Kawhi Leonard has looked really good as of late and this is a spot he should be able to perform pretty well in. Paul George finally had a bounce-back night last time out going for 48 DraftKings points, similar to Kawhi here I like him a good deal. Lastly, Reggie Jackson and Lou Williams make for fine GPP options on a short slate.
5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George
4-star play: LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, PJ Washington, Ivica Zubac (if starting)
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Gordon Hayward, Malik Monk, Miles Bridges, Reggie Jackson, Lou Williams
NBA Lock of the Day: Andrew Wiggins (DK – $6.3k; FD – $5.2k)
I’ll go right back to Wiggins here, he’ll likely be popular after his 66 point fantasy night last night, but if Curry is out again here he’s just too cheap. The Research Station has him projected for 36.08 fantasy points which would put him at about 5.7x his DraftKings price tag. He’s just too cheap considering his role and I would imagine he makes our core in our Cheat Sheets/Coaches Notes when those come out later in the day, but check them out for an update as we get closer to lock!
