Charlotte Hornets @ Washington Wizards
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: TBD
Starting with the Hornets, with LaMelo Ball out for the rest of the year, the scoring load has fallen on Terry Rozier, he’s been getting more shots these past few games and I’d expect that to continue tonight, just know that he is pretty scoring dependent for his fantasy points. Devonte’ Graham will take on a bigger role as well, and he’s been solid and doesn’t break the bank on either site. Gordon Hayward will also draw a ton of usage here with LaMelo out, as he’s been seeing a ton of minutes and I’d expect the same tonight. PJ Washington draws a solid matchup as well, and he doesn’t break the bank either. Malik Monk has also been great off the bench, he missed last game but looks like he is probable here tonight and he’s a solid FPPM performer when he gets the minutes, he’s probably your best value play from this game. Now for the Wizards, we just saw Russell Westbrook go nuclear last night in an all out effort to win, but I don’t expect that type of performance two nights in a row especially if Bradley Beal is back. Rui Hachimura has looked great the past week or so, and he continued that streak last night, he’s a solid play again here tonight. If you were in the coaching channels then you saw my Daniel Gafford post who was in the process of crushing before spraining his ankle, he’s doubtful here tonight which will open up more minutes for Alex Len and Deni Avdija. Chandler Hutchison also saw some extra run in Gafford’s absense so I think we can go there again tonight for value.
5-star play: Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal
4-star play: Devonte’ Graham, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, Rui Hachimura
Deeper Value: Chandler Hutchison, Deni Avdija, Alex Len, Malik Monk
GPP Sleeper: Chandler Hutchison
Philadelphia 76ers @ Denver Nuggets
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: TBD
Starting with the Sixers, Ben Simmons hasn’t been showing that ceiling we’ve expected from him with the injury to Embiid, but he gets a solid matchup here going up against Jamal Murray, he’s firmly in play again here tonight. Tobias Harris has been the guy for them with Embiid out, and I like him in all formats here tonight especially if he matches up against Gordon or Porter Jr. Seth Curry has been playing a ton of minutes as well, he’s a great value for them here tonight, and we just need Dwight Howard to not get ejected here for him to likely crush value. Shake Milton has also been great off the bench, but he is pretty scoring dependent. Now for the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is the guy you want here tonight, he’ll be a core play for me in all formats as the pace and style of this game suit him perfectly. Aaron Gordon looked pretty solid in his debut, so I wouldn’t mind going there tonight, however with him in the fold we can likely now fade Paul Millsap for the rest of the year. Either way, Jamal Murray will play a ton of minutes here, as he saw close to 40 last game but the matchup isn’t the greatest for him. Michael Porter Jr. is also playing a ton of minutes, as he saw 40 minutes last game, but the addition of Gordon will likely hurt him the most of any of the Nuggets. They’ll have a tight rotation here tonight, and their starters will play heavy minutes so those are the only guys that I’ll be targeting on the Nuggets tonight.
5-star play: Tobias Harris, Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr., Dwight Howard
Deeper Value: Seth Curry, Shake Milton
GPP Sleeper: Seth Curry, Shake Milton
Orlando Magic @ Los Angeles Clippers
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: TBD
Starting with the Magic, they’ve stayed surprisingly competitive these past 2 games, and I can see the Clippers resting a few guys here being on the 2nd half of a B2B. Chuma Okeke is going to be my favorite play from the Magic once again, as they really want to develop and get him some minutes. James Ennis and Khem Birch also saw a ton of minutes at the 4/5 and they’re both cheap again here tonight so I like them as well and I don’t expect Wendell Carter or Otto Porter to see more than 20 minutes again tonight. Dwayne Bacon will also take over the SG role here, he should play a ton of minutes again here tonight. The biggest piece will be Michael Carter-Williams has also been solid, but his price has come up a bit. Mo Bamba also saw 20+ minutes and he’s a great FPPM when he gets the minutes as we saw last game, so he’s someone to look at to get different in GPPs. Now for the Clippers, I can see Kawhi Leonard resting here tonight, as the Magic don’t have a way to keep up with this Clippers team and I think it’ll be a Paul George night because he sat out last night. If Rondo is out again then I’ll want a ton of Reggie Jackson again as well. Luke Kennard was also great last night, I’ll want some of him if one of PG or Kawhi sits, and of course we can go back to Ivica Zubac again tonight as the Magic looks lost at the 5 without Vuc. If Kawhi misses, I’ll also have some shares of Terance Mann as well.
5-star play: Paul George, Kawhi Leonard (if he plays)
4-star play: Chuma Okeke, Khem Birch, Dwayne Bacon, Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac
Deeper Value: Luke Kennard, Terance Mann, Mo Bamba
GPP Sleeper: Terance Mann, Mo Bamba
Atlanta Hawks @ Phoenix Suns
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: TBD
This should be a great game, and this is the one that I’ll be targeting the most as it should be the most competitive game of the night. Trae Young is the premier play here, but the matchup leaves a bit to be desired here going up against CP3.. Clint Capela has a great matchup here, as Ayton isn’t the best defensive big at all. John Collins has also been great, but with a lot of the Hawks healthy tonight I think his upside is limited. Bogdan Bogdanovic also started last game but he didn’t play a ton of minutes, I prefer him coming off the bench. Danilo Gallinari has also been great off the bench and he doesn’t break the bank anywhere tonight. Lastly, Kevin Huerter saw 28 minutes off the bench, and I’d expect him to start here tonight, especially because it looks like Hunter will be out again. Now for the Suns, my main target will be Devin Booker here, as he is starting to heat up as we saw last time out against Charlotte, the matchup is fantastic here. Chris Paul also kind of dudded last game, so I’ll go right back to him tonight because he’s due for a lot of assists. DeAndre Ayton has also been solid, but the matchup against Capela isn’t the best but he does have the height advantage. Dario Saric and Jae Crowder have also been splitting minutes at the 4, so it’s a coin flip between those two guys here tonight. That’s really all I want to touch from the Suns though as they have a pretty tight rotation and play their starters a ton of minutes.
5-star play: Trae Young, Devin Booker
4-star play: Chris Paul, Clint Capela, John Collins, DeAndre Ayton
Deeper Value: Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dario Saric, Jae Crowder
GPP Sleeper: Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic
NBA Lock of the Day:
(Nikola Jokic FD: $11,300 DK: $10,500)
Love Jokic in all formats here tonight, he’s by far the best C option on the slate and with it being such a small slate we really don’t have many pay up option here tonight. Philly has taken a major hit allowing FPs to bigs with Embiid out, and Jokic should take advantage of that here especially considering this should be a very competitive game, he’s my lock of the day here today.
