Utah Jazz @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

This game actually has one of the highest totals on the slate, which tells us a lot about the slate, but any game with the Wizards is going to be faster than normal Starting with the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell gets a much better matchup here going up against Bradley Beal, he should get plenty of open looks especially in transition. Rudy Gobert also gets a great matchup here, as the Wizards are one of the worst teams in the NBA against bigs. Mike Conley also draws a favorable matchup going up against Russ, and Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles will be the sparkplugs for this Jazz teams coming off the bench. Both are solid values with my preference being Clarkson. If you’re looking for a punt at PF, Royce O’Neale is in play, but you can never get excited about playing him. Lastly, Bojan Bogdanovic is firmly in play here as his price doesn’t break the bank, and his shooting has shown signs of positive regression after his difficult first half. For the Wizards, they’re coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Kings, and are on the 2nd half of a B2B. They are basically in must win mode now if they want to make the playoffs, so I see them not resting anyone tonight. Russell Westbrook is a threat to triple double every night, despite the tougher matchup here. Bradley Beal draws a more favorable matchup with Mitchell, but either way its hard to love either of these guys tonight. Rui Hachimura has also been on a hot streak, he cooled off a bit last night but he should pick back right where he left off. Sadly, Alex Len will likely see a lot of minutes here, as they’ll need his size to matchup with Gobert. Overall this is a better game to target on this slate tonight.

5-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Russell Westbrook, Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley, Rui Hachimura

Deeper Value: Alex Len, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, Joe Ingles

GPP Sleeper: Rui Hachimura, Royce O’Neale

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

This is another solid game to target, as both of these teams play faster, especially the Hawks. The Thunder are still struck by the injury bug, as Darius Bazley has already been ruled out again, and Al Horford, Luguentz Dort are both GTD. Either way, this is a great matchup for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he’ll dominate usage with that 1st team and be the main scorer. The Hawks have also struggled against guards this year so this is a prime matchup for him. Theo Maledon is also i play here for value, he has shown some flashes of upside, he’s a solid value as well. Isaiah Roby would also be in line for more minutes if Horford is out again and the Thunder’s first round pick from this year, Aleksej Pokusevski sshined a few games ago, but that was because Brown got into foul trouble. Kenrich Williams will also likely play heavy minutes off the bench if Dort is going to miss again as well. Moses Brown also went nuclear last time out, and as long as he stays out of foul trouble again tonight he should be one of the best value plays on the slate IF Horford is out. The Hawks tend to play down to their competition and the Thunder have been struggling since the depature of CP3. For the Hawks, Clint Capela is a GTD here tonight, and if he sits again then that’ll open up a ton of usage for John Collins as we saw the past two games. He’s still priced very nicely and would make for a great play in all formats. Trae Young would be another big beneficiary as his usage would get an uptick as well, and with going up against Maledon would definitely be a huge advantage for Trae. He’s been heating up since the return from the All-Star Break. Kevin Huerter will also see a ton of minutes with Reddish out again, and it’ll open up a few more minutes for Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari coming off the bench. Gallo even started last game and played 28 minutes, so my preference would be Bog as he won’t have as much competition for touches on that 2nd unit. However, Gallo did have a great game last time out, but I won’t be chasing that here tonight.

5-star play: Trae Young, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: John Collins, Theo Maledon, Isaiah Roby, Moses Brown, Danilo Gallinari

Deeper Value: Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Danilo Gallinari, Aleksej Pokusevski

GPP Sleeper: Bogdan Bogdanovic

Orlando Magic @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

This is likely going to be the lowest total game of the slate, so it is one that we can fade and likely be ok. But there are a few pieces that we can target here tonight. Starting with the Magic, Nikola Vucevic draws the best matchup here, but with Aaron Gordon back it takes some of the shine off of Vuc. Michael Carter-Williams would also draw a favorable matchup here, as he has a nice size advantage over all these Knicks guards but he has been inconsistent to say the least. Evan Fournier has also been out the past few games, which would open up some minutes for Dwayne Bacon as a value play, but again not really anyone on this Magic team that I’m going out of my way to play.  The best matchup here will be for Julius Randle as he does all the heavy lifting for this Knicks team and he makes for a great play in all formats, he has been matchup proof all year long and that won’t change here tonight. We have to keep an eye on injury news as well, but if Derrick Rose and Elfrid Payton are out again, that’ll open up a ton of minutes for Immanuel Quickley again and we can go right back to him tonight after he had an absolute floor game last time out. RJ Barrett would also see a nice boost and he makes for a solid play as well at his price. Nerlens Noel is also in play, but his price has caught up to his production so I think he’s priced right about at value and Vuc has made some strides this year defensively. Reggie Bullock plays heavy minutes as well but he is very scoring dependent, he’s in play for value as is Alec Burks if all those guards are out again tonight for the Knicks as well as they’ll run a tight rotation of 8-9 guys.

5-star play: Julius Randle

4-star play: Nikola Vucevic, RJ Barrett

Deeper Value: Immanuel Quickley, Reggie Bullock, Alec Burks, Dwayne Bacon

GPP Sleeper: Reggie Bullock, Alec Burks

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: Phx -10.5

This is another decent game on the slate, as the T-Wolves play fast and loose, but the Suns have been very good this year so there is definitely some blowout risk with how up and down the T-Wolves play. Starting with them, Karl-Anthony Towns has shown some signs of life since the All-Star Break, and his matchup against Ayton is a solid one. Anthony Edwards is the other primary target here, as he is priced in that mid-range but has some a ton of upside with Beasley and Russell both out. Ricky Rubio has also stepped up, but he draws a difficult matchup against Chris Paul here, as he is still one of the better defenders in the NBA. Jake Layman has also been starting and is a decent value, but his usage is not very high. Lastly, Jaylen Nowell has been a spark plug off the bench for them, and if Jordan McLaughlin is out again tonight then he becomes an elite value play as he’ll see a ton of minutes if this game stays close or is a blowout. Now for the Suns, Devin Booker has been on fire coming out of the All-Star Break, and the matchup with the Wolves doesn’t get much better as they bleed FPs to basically every position. Chris Paul should also see a boost in assists tonight, given that the Wolves can’t defend and the Suns have all their playmakers here. DeAndre Ayton also draws a great matchup here, and he is a bit underpriced on all sites tonight. Mikal Bridges is always in play for GPPs, but his consistency has been an issue but the ceiling is there. Lastly, Jae Crowder has rejoined the starting lineup, and he should get plenty of open looks in the corner here tonight, if he can make those 3s he can be a great value play.

5-star play: Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Anthony Edwards, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: Jae Crowder, Dario Saric, Jake Layman, Jaylen Nowell

GPP Sleeper: Jaylen Nowell

New Orleans Pelicans @ Portland Trail Blazers

Vegas Total: 241

Vegas Spread: Por -1

Here is another game that we can get excited about, as both of these teams have been playing some good ball and both play fast which is a recipe for success with fantasy points at stake, and we just saw how this game played out the other night. Starting with the Pelicans, Zion Williamson has been white hot, and he had a solid game here last time out against this Blazers team that struggles against 4s. Brandon Ingram has also looked a lot better as of late, and he even went off their last 2 games, he’s a bit underpriced here again tonight. Lonzo Ball has also been quietly having the best season of his young career, and gets a fantastic matchup going up against Dame here who doesn’t play defense. Eric Bledsoe is also in play for GPPs, but I’d rather get to Lonzo. Both those guys had solid games last time out as well. Steven Adams should also have a field day down low going up against Kanter who is basically a revolving door at the rim. Josh Hart is a solid value for GPPs as he’ll play 25+ minutes off the bench and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work either. Now for the Blazers, CJ McCollum has returned, but he’ll likely still be limited here so I won’t be playing him at that price. Damian Lillard is the obvious play as he is this Blazers team, and he’s been white hot from the field over the past week or so. He absolutely destroyed this Pelicans team the other night going for 70+. Enes Kanter draws a difficult matchup though going up against Adams, so I like Robert Covington a bit more here for GPPs. Lastly, Carmelo Anthony will anchor that 2nd unit, and we know that he can get hot as he is trying to continue to move up that all-time scoring list. Overall this is a great game that we should look to target tonight.

5-star play: Zion Williamson, Damian Lillard

4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony

Deeper Value: Josh Hart, Steven Adams, Eric Bledose

GPP Sleeper: Steven Adams

Charlotte Hornets @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 226

Vegas Spread: Lal -8

This should be an interesting game, as the Hornets are an up and coming team in the East, and it’ll be a big statement if they can hang with the Lakers here tonight. Starting with the Hornets, LaMelo Ball has been a revelation since joining the starting lineup, and he has triple double potential every night. Gordon Hayward has also been solid, but with all the Hornets health his usage does take a bit of a hit. Terry Rozier also got off to a hot start last night, but he has the same issue with all the guards healthy, especially with Devonte’ Graham back as it limits his ceiling a bit. P.J. Washington has also had his ups and downs this year, but with AD out this is a matchup that he can take advantage of. Lastly, Cody Zeller has played well, and with no AD to protect the rim he should see some solid chances as well. Now for the Lakers, I don’t see any designation on LeBron James this evening so it looks like he’ll be a full go here as he stated he’d be resting less in the 2nd half of the season. He’s a triple double threat anytime he steps on the court, and he did so last game as well. Talen Horton-Tucker also has been seeing his minutes trending upward, and he is a solid value play coming off the bench for this Lakers team. Dennis Schroder is also firmly in play here, as he’ll play heavy minutes at the PG spot especially with Caruso out, and he comes at a nice price on all sites. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a GPP option here tonight as well at his price, especially on FanDuel where he is just above minimum, if he can get hot on defense he can hit value in steals alone.

5-star play: LeBron James

4-star play: Dennis Schroder, LaMelo Ball, Gordan Hayward, PJ Washington

Deeper Value: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Talen Horton-Tucker, Devonte’ Graham

GPP Sleeper: Talen Horton-Tucker

NBA Lock of the Day:

 (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD: $7,900 DK: $9,000)

He’s definitely more in play on FanDuel, but with Dort, Maledon, and Darius Bazley all GTD tonight, SGA is going to dominate usage with this 1st team. With all those guys off the court he has a 36.2% usage rate and averages 1.34 FPPM. At under 8K on FanDuel he is a borderline lock for me, although the price is a bit more adjusted on DraftKings. I love him in all formats tonight as this Hawks team also really struggles to defend guards, and he’ll likely see a lot of Trae Young tonight.
