Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

I want to give a quick shoutout to VIP Member “TheSoprano12” on their $100,000 win earlier this week!! Better go buy a Boban jersey after that one!

Toronto Raptors @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

We’ll kick this final slate before the all-star break off with the Raptors who are limping into the break. They will be without Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, and OG Anunoby again tonight. Kyle Lowry was fine last night, but the huge game we were hoping for with all those guys off the court. At $8.4k on DraftKings, you’re definitely spending up on him hoping for that increase in usage. Norman Powell dropped 46 DraftKings points and is a great option yet again tonight, this guy is one of the best bench options in the game and now gets to start and play near 40 minutes. Even with all these guys out Chris Boucher still only saw 25 minutes, I would expect he’s in that range again tonight, but he’s been so good from a point-per-dollar perspective that he’s worth getting to at this price tag. Then we can round this team out with two value options in Terence Davis and DeAndre Bembry, but they were both held under 15 fantasy points even though Bembry got 27 minutes, he wasn’t very active out there. From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown returned to play 34 minutes last game, so there shouldn’t be any worry of a minutes restriction here. I don’t love the price on him and don’t think he’s necessarily healthy, so I’m okay just fading him in this one. Jayson Tatum had a bit of a dud last time out but is still seeing around 40 minutes per game, so it’s hard for me not to have at least a little interest. Kemba Walker has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games but is now over $7k on DraftKings, maybe he’s finally starting to get his feet under him, I’m okay with him here. The rest of this team is more tournament options than anything, I don’t mind Daniel Theis against a shorthanded frontcourt with Siakam out.

5-star play: Kyle Lowry, Norman Powell, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Chris Boucher, Kemba Walker

Deeper Value: Terence Davis, DeAndre’ Bembry

GPP Sleeper: Jaylen Brown, Daniel Theis

Los Angeles Clippers @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Clippers, the obvious two you’ll want from this team are Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. That being said, Kawhi Leonard comes into this one as questionable after being a late scratch last game. With the All-Star break right around the corner, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them give him an additional day of rest here, be sure to keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for news surrounding him. I’m going to operate under the assumption that he plays for now, however. If he plays and isn’t limited, he and Paul George are elite options in a pace-up spot against a Wizards team that isn’t playing any defense. The rest of this team is a little bit harder to dissect, Lou Williams has been a shell of himself this season but has seen his minutes come up as of late. When George and Kawhi are both active, Lou still has a pretty healthy 25.5% usage rate and 1.01 fantasy point per minute, but that’s due to him running that second unit. I still don’t think I’ll find myself with much of him here. Serge Ibaka disappeared last game but got into some early foul trouble that hampered him a bit, the Washington frontcourt isn’t good so he could be in line for a nice game at a cheap price tag. Then the combo of Nic Batum and Marcus Morris are GPP options, Batum has been more consistent but we know the upside on Morris if he starts knocking down some shots for him to be playable at that price tag. From the Wizards, Russell Westbrook seems to have found his footing as of late, he now has at least 50 DraftKings points in eight of his last nine games and is a guy I’ll go right back to even in a tougher matchup. Bradley Beal scored 48.5 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and as long as he’s under $10k on DraftKings I’ll have interest in him. The rest of this team is going to be more tournament darts than anything, guys like Rui Hachimura and Davis Bertans would be my favorite flyers, but not anyone that I’m looking to prioritize.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Serge Ibaka, Rui Hachimura

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Lou Williams, Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, Davis Bertans

Detroit Pistons @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

The Pistons are another team that is sort of limping into the All-Star break, Jerami Grant and Josh Jackson both missed last night’s game and are now questionable for this one. I’m going to operate under the assumption that they’re out again here, but keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed for live updates. Mason Plumlee was able to pick up the slack with these guys out going for 50 fantasy points in just 28 minutes, I don’t have any problem going with him against a shorthanded Knicks frontcourt. Saddiq Bey only saw 24 minutes which is a bit odd since both those wings were out, but he’s been consistently over 30 minutes as of late, so I don’t hate going back to him in tournaments. Dennis Smith Jr. has officially arrived, he scored 51.5 fantasy points last game and now has at least 30 in four straight games. This guy is a fun fantasy roster when he gets it going and gets a revenge game against the team that gave up on him earlier this season. Saben Lee should still see some run at point guard, but why not just pay the extra money to get Smith Jr.? Lastly, guys like Svi Mykhailiuk and Sekou Doumbouya (thanks for nothing on the spell check there, internet!) are fine value options if the wings are out again, Doumbouya saw 27 minutes while Svi (that’s much easier) saw 37 minutes, they’re both extremely volatile, however. From the Knicks, Elfrid Payton comes into this one as doubtful, so I’m just going to assume he’s out for this one. Derrick Rose was a surprise inactive last game as well and comes into this one as questionable. If he’s out again I’ll fire up Immanuel Quickley with little hesitation, he put up 41 DraftKings points, but the big thing was he got 29 minutes. If Rose and Payton are out again I would expect a similar game for him. RJ Barrett put up a dud with these guys out last game, I don’t mind going back to him here though, they’ll need his scoring in that first unit if the Knicks are going to start Franky Smokes (Ntilikina) again. Julius Randle had a down game last time out and his price is getting up there, so more of a GPP option for me. Then you can round this team off with Alec Burks who is a fine cheaper option.

***Below is assuming Josh Jackson, Jerami Grant, Elfrid Payton, and Derrick Rose are all out***

5-star play: Mason Plumlee

4-star play: Dennis Smith Jr., Immanuel Quickley, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett

Deeper Value: Svi Mykhailiuk, Sekou Doumbouya

GPP Sleeper: Saddiq Bey, Alec Burks, Svi Mykhailiuk, Sekou Doumbouya

Denver Nuggets @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has back-to-back games with at least 70 DraftKings points and is matchup proof so even though it’s not the best matchup, it’s hard to ignore him right now. Jamal Murray is still a guy you can get to for GPPs due to his upside, but I hate the price tag for cash games. He’s priced for a ceiling that he doesn’t hit more often than not. I would rather go down to a guy like Michael Porter who has seen his production trend in the right direction and getting big minutes right now. Then Will Barton has been good going for at least 25 DraftKings points in three straight games as well. We can round this team out with Monte Morris who is a fine secondary option and should continue to see minutes into the 30’s with some of their bench pieces on the shelf. From the Pacers, I have to touch on the night TJ McConnell had last night going for 66 DraftKings points on a triple-double with 10 STEALS. I won’t be chasing that game, the odds on him getting another 10 steals tonight are the same as me having an evil twin I don’t know about. This is a tough spot for Domantas Sabonis against Jokic and company in the paint, so I’m okay getting away from him here. Malcolm Brogdon looked good against the Cavs last night and is a guy I’m fine with getting to here, I just don’t love the price tag. Lastly, Myles Turner has been really volatile as of late and is mostly a tournament guy at the moment in hopes you can catch one of those big nights from him.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Jamal Murray, Michael Porter, Will Barton, Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Myles Turner, Monte Morris

Milwaukee Bucks @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 234.5

Vegas Spread: Milw -6.0

Starting with the Bucks, Jrue Holiday was on a minutes restriction again last game and played just 18 minutes. I want that restriction lifted before I go back to him. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a down game last time out but I like his chances of bouncing back in this one, the Grizzlies haven’t been all that great on defense and are playing pretty quick. Khris Middleton has been pretty solid as of late and the Grizzlies are giving up big games to opposing wings, so he’s a guy I think you can get to here. Donte DiVincenzo has come down to Earth over his past two games and his price really hasn’t budged, more of a tournament guy for me. Bobby Portis had trouble last game as well…noticing a trend yet? The Bucks just played poorly last game, so I’m not taking much of any of it into account tonight. Lastly, Brook Lopez is a cheap center option if you’re looking for one, not the best matchup, but not the worst either. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant was my lock of the day last time he was on the slate and he went for 58.75 DraftKings points, safe to say that one worked out. His price tag has come up, but I love playing him in fast-paced games like this one projects to be. Jonas Valanciunas bounced back last time out going for 35 fantasy points, his size will be needed in this one so I like going back to the well on him. Kyle Anderson isn’t on the injury report so he should be a go here, but I just have a tough time paying this price tag for him on a big slate. Then Brandon Clarke and Dillon Brooks are fine tournament options as well but my interest lies in Morant and Valanciunas from the Grizzlies.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Khris Middleton, Donte DiVincenzo, Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, Brandon Clarke, Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson

Miami Heat @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Nop -3.5

Starting with the Heat, both Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler are questionable coming into this game, so we’ll clearly need some news before we can firmly breakdown the rest of this team. Look for an update in our VIP Coaching forum for an update on the Heat here, it doesn’t make sense to break this team down until we get that news. From the Pelicans, Zion Williamson is on a heater right now, but it’s not all luck right now. The team has basically given him the keys to the Ferrari and he’s running with them. I have no issue paying this price tag for him going forward, he’s been really consistent as well. Brandon Ingram on the other hand is going to have to learn to play second fiddle to Zion, and it doesn’t appear he’s been able to do so. I’ll wait for his price tag to come down a bit before I go back to him. Lonzo Ball has been playing good basketball as of late, but his price is now over $7k, so more of a GPP option than anything. Eric Bledsoe is really interesting to me, he’s playing massive minutes right now, maybe they’re showcasing him for a trade or maybe just seeing what they have in him but I would assume these minutes stick for the time being. Lastly, Josh Hart is always in play for GPPs due to his ability to grab rebounds and get hot from the field.

5-star play: Zion Williamson

4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Hart

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart

Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Sas -6.5

Starting with the Thunder, I love targeting point guards against the Spurs so Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stands out to me here. He’s averaging 47 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Spurs this season. Al Horford is averaging 29.8 DraftKings points per game in those games as well, I don’t mind him in this spot as the Spurs are shorthanded as well. Then Darius Bazley is the only other real interest I have from this team, he’s been really volatile this season, but he has enough upside to make him GPP viable in this one. Lastly, with Hamidou Diallo out Theo Maledon is getting a pretty consistent 30 minutes per game and makes sense as a lower end option. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight. His price is climbing but for good reason, I like him in all formats here. Dejounte Murray has been really good as of late as well, and you get a slight discount on him from DeRozan if you’re looking to get a guy from this team. Then guys like Jakob Poeltl and Lonnie Walker are fine tournament plays as well, but their prices are beginning to climb. Lastly, Keldon Johnson returned last game but was on a minutes limit that I think carries into this game as well as they try and get to the All-Star break as healthy as possible.

5-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: Al Horford, Darius Bazley, DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Lu Dort, Theo Maledon, Jakob Poeltl, Lonnie Walker

Sacramento Kings @ Portland Trailblazers

Vegas Total: 236.5

Vegas Spread: Por -4.0

Starting with the Kings, this is a pretty nice spot for De’Aaron Fox with Tyrese Haliburton still out for this team. He’s struggled somewhat in this matchup this season averaging just 31.5 DraftKings points per game in two games, but something I’m still okay with going to here. Harrison Barnes has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and has been really consistent this season, so I have an interest in him for cash games. Marvin Bagley and Richaun Holmes have been pretty solid as of late, they draw a good matchup here as well, don’t let Enes Kanter scare you on the other side, he doesn’t play much of any defense. Lastly, Buddy Hield has at least 45 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and seeing massive minutes right now, but we know how volatile he can be on a nightly basis. This is a nice spot for the Blazers as well, the Kings are pretty easily the worst defensive unit in the league so we should be able to find something worth playing here. Damian Lillard is averaging 52.4 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Kings this season and is an elite option tonight. Enes Kanter has struggled in this matchup this season but has been really consistent as of late if you’re looking for a center option in his price range. Then the rest of this team is more GPP than anything with my favorite option being Robert Covington as he continues to play all the minutes he can handle.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Damian Lillard

4-star play: Harrison Barnes, Marvin Bagley, Richaun Holmes, Buddy Hield, Enes Kanter, Robert Covington

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Buddy Hield, Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Jones Jr.

Golden State Warriors @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -6.5

We’ll round out this slate with the Warriors and Suns! Starting with Golden State, it sounds like Kelly Oubre is closer to doubtful than questionable and will miss a chance at a revenge game against his old squad. With him off the court here is how the rest of the lineup shakes out:

  • Steph Curry – 36.3% usage rate; 1.71 fpm
  • Andrew Wiggins – 24.9% usage rate; 0.92 fpm
  • Draymond Green – 12.9% usage rate; 1.07 fpm
  • Kent Bazemore – 15.7% usage rate; 0.93 fpm

If indeed Oubre does miss these would be my favorite options on the team, Curry would be my favorite option followed by Bazemore for some value. From the Suns, as usual they’re not really a team I look to get to when they’re at full strength. Devin Booker looks like a fine option on the surface, but there are other guys in that range I like more. I would actually prefer saving some money and going to Chris Paul, he’s shown a more consistent ability to throw up 50 fantasy points as of late. DeAndre Ayton has been a bit frustrating but did put up 35.8 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season. Then the rest of this team is more GPP darts than anything with guys like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder.

5-star play: Steph Curry

4-star play: Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Kent Bazemore, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton

Deeper Value: Kent Bazemore

GPP Sleeper: Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Devin Booker
