Utah Jazz @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Uth -4.5

For the Jazz,  Donovan Mitchell has a decent matchup here as the Pacers are a bit more lax against guards than they are against big men. Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson are both decent values, but I’d like both of them more if Mitchell was out. However, Rudy Gobert has quietly been crushing it the past few games, but the matchup isn’t the best for him here against Turner and Sabonis who has been both having career years, still he is very viable on a 5 game slate. Mike Conley is also in play from this Jazz team, as he has been a model of consistency so far, and the matchup is solid against Brogdon here who still needs to work on his defensive abilities. If you’re looking for a solid value in showdown, I like Bogdan Bogdanovic as he can fill it up when he gets hot.

For the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon’s scoring has taken a hit since the return of Jeremy Lamb, while both are in play I’d prefer Lamb right now due to his price tag being lower. Domantas Sabonis continues to be dominant down low and while this matchup leaves a lot to be desired, this is a perfect bounce back spot at low ownership after his dud last game out. Myles Turner is also in play here especially on FanDuel as blocks and steals are a premium and he’s been doing a bit of it all for the Pacers defensively. Doug McDermott has also been great coming off the bench and should see some lax D from this Jazz 2nd unit, and T.J. McConnell has also been a great anchor for that 2nd unit and he’s not priced up too high today.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis

4-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley, Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb

Deeper Value: Jordan Clarkson, Doug McDermott, T.J. McConnell

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson

Miami Heat @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 211.5

Vegas Spread: Mia -5.5

For the Heat, Goran Dragic has already been ruled out today, so that’ll open up a few things for both Tyler Herro, and Jimmy Butler. Both are really solid plays here as the Knicks are flat out bad defensively. Bam Adebayo also draws a favorable matchup here against the likes of Mitch Robinson and Julius Randle, but I think his upside is a bit capped with both those guys in today. Kelly Olynyk and Duncan Robinson both makes for interesting GPP values on a small slate like this, especially if Olynyk continues to start. Kendrick Nunn is also viable today with Dragic out, but he gets more run in blowout type situations so I’d temper expectations after that last game he had.

For the Knicks, it all starts with Julius Randle as he is their main source of offense, however, he has a tough matchup against Bam here. RJ Barrett will need to step up a bit offensively in this one, and I think he can but the matchup isn’t great for him either. Elfrid Payton is very cheap here as well but they seem to be riding the hot hand between him and Immanuel Quickley who is a decent value play as well here. Mitchell Robinson has also been playing heavy minutes as well, and he doesn’t break the bank either.

5-star play: Julius Randle, Jimmy Butler

4-star play: Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, RJ Barrett, Elfrid Payton

Deeper Value: Kendrick Nunn, Kelly Olynyk, Mitchell Robinson, Immanuel Quickley

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Olynyk

Washington Wizards @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: 235.5

Vegas Spread: Was -1.5

For the Wizards, the good news is that they have left South Beach, and their performance the other night tells me not to play teams that have been in South Beath for more than 2-3 days. Russell Westbrook will look to bounce back here after being crushed last game, and Bradley Beal is due for some positive shoot regression as he couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat last game. I expect both to bounce back in this game today. Robin Lopez continues to start, and he’s a decent value here as Charlotte is still very bad against bigs. Rui Hachimura has also been coming around and this is a solid matchup for him as well. If you’re looking to get deep here, Ish Smith is a solid play coming off the bench, as is Davis Bertans and Alex Len.

This should be the highest scoring game of the night, and Devonte’ Graham has already been ruled out here, so I love LaMelo Ball right off the bat as he won’t have to compete with him for those touches tonight. Terry Rozier also sees a nice boost and he has a really nice price tag on FanDuel given the upside he’s shown this year. If PJ Washington is out again, then I love Miles Bridges here for value as he’ll continue to start and rack up minutes. Gordon Hayward also has a really nice matchup here, as this is the game you want to target on this smaller slate with a total of over 230. Cody Zeller is even in play here as the Wizards are horrible at defending bigs.

5-star play: Bradely Beal, LaMelo Ball

4-star play: Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, Russell Westbrook, Rui Hachimura

Deeper Value: Miles Bridges, Cody Zeller, Davis Bertains, Ish Smith, Alex Len

GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier

Boston Celtics @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 217.5

Vegas Spread: Phx -3.0

For the Celtics, Kemba Walker is still too underpriced here especially if Jaylen Brown is ruled out again. If Brown is out, that opens up a lot more shots for both him and Jayson Tatum on that first team offense. Looks like Brown just got ruled out as I’m typing this, so that is a boost to both of them. Tristan Thompson is also in a decent spot here as the Suns struggle against bigs and he can rack up rebounds and putbacks in a hurry. Payton Pritchard should also see a few more minutes without Brown, as should Carsen Edwards as he came out on fire as Smart is still out as well. Daniel Theis has also been super efficient with his minutes, but I’d rather play Thompson today.

For the Suns, Devin Booker is having the worst year of his career since Chris Paul joined the team, as it takes the ball away from him a lot, but he is priced appropriately. DeAndre Ayton should also be able to get whatever he wants here against this soft Celtics interior as should both Cam Johnson and Frank Kaminsky, I’ll take the one who starts, but either way I still prefer Cam. Mikal Bridges is also in a decent spot here as the C’s don’t defend athletic forwards very well, and he could be a dark horse GPP type winner today.

5-star play: Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Chris Paul

4-star play: DeAndre Ayton, Devin Booker, Tristan Thompson, Mikal Bridges

Deeper Value: Frank Kaminsky, Cam Johnson, Daniel Theis, Carsen Edwards, Payton Pritchard

GPP Sleeper: Mikal Bridges

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: Lac -8.5

For the Kings, it looks they are fully healthy here and this would be a statement game for this young team. De’Aaron Fox has a nice matchup here with no Pat Bev once again, and Tyrese Haliburton has been playing 30+ minutes off the bench and he’s been crushing as well. Harrison Barnes is a cash option here as he plays heavy minutes but the ceiling isn’t that great most of the time. Lastly, Richaun Holmes draws a solid matchup here as this Clippers interior is pretty weak defensively. I’ll fade Bagley here after he played only 18 minutes last game as his role seems to be diminishing.

For the Clippers, the big news hinges on Paul George, if he is out then Kawhi Leonard would be a core play for me today. It would also be a nice boost to Nic Batum who has been playing well when PG misses and he played 39 minutes last game, so the opportunity is there. Serge Ibaka also makes for an interesting play here, but I like him more on FanDuel where blocks and steals are worth 3 points. Marcus Morris Sr.is also a decent value play here, as he’s their main contributor off the bench, I’ll have a few shares of him if Paul George misses, and even Reggie Jackson is in play if Paul George is out.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, De’Aaron Fox

4-star play: Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes, Tyrese Haliburton

Deeper Value:  Nic Batum, Serge Ibaka, Marcus Morris Sr.

GPP Sleeper: Tyrese Haliburton

NBA Lock of the Day:

Kawhi Leonard (FD: $9,900 DK: $9,100)

Kawhi is going to be my lock of the day here, as he has been tearing it up offensively over the past week, and with Paul George already ruled out he’ll garner even more usage.
