Philadelphia 76ers @ Charlotte Hornets

We’ll kick this 10 game slate off when the Philadelphia 76ers, the pricing on Joel Embiid has been pretty bad this season. He’s just $10k on DraftKings against one of the worst defensive frontcourts in the league. I will say, Embiid has averaged just 45.4 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Hornets this season, but he seems to have turned it up a bit as of late. I love him in this spot. Ben Simmons dropped 49.5 DraftKings points last time out and is in a decent spot here as well, the price did come up and with Embiid healthy I’m not sure how much of him I’ll end up getting here. Tobias Harris has been really consistent as of late and has at least 38 DraftKings points in four straight games, this is a nice matchup for him as well at a reasonable price tag. The price on Seth Curry keeps climbing, but he really hasn’t done anything to warrant it, being held under 20 DraftKings points in four straight games, he’s a GPP only guy for me here. From the Hornets, Terry Rozier is questionable here while PJ Washington has been ruled out. I’m going to operate under the assumption that Rozier is out as well so we can use the last game as a reference, if he plays he should slide right back into the starting lineup. That said, LaMelo Ball started for Rozier last game and was pretty average thanks to some foul trouble. Here is how the Hornets grade out with Rozier and Washington off the court this season:
- Miles Bridges – 18.5% usage rate; 1.03 fpm
- Devonte’ Graham – 19.3% usage rate; 1.02 fpm
- LaMelo Ball – 23.2% usage rate; 1.12 fpm
- Gordon Hayward – 26.5% usage rate; 1.17 fpm
These four guys would be my main targets, but it is a tough matchup against a Sixers team that has seemed to figure out its defense this season. You can also make a case for Cody Zeller, they’ll need his size in this one and the Hornets have decided to give him ore run this season, we didn’t see him get this kind of minutes last season and he’s grabbing some big rebound numbers.
5-star play: Joel Embiid
4-star play: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Devonte’ Graham, LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward, Cody Zeller
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Ben Simmons, Devonte’ Graham
Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks
Vegas Total: 232
Vegas Spread: Mil -8.5
Starting with the Pacers, I’m not sure what Domantas Sabonis did to the DraftKings pricing team… but he is far too cheap here. He dropped 60 DraftKings points last night and our Research Station tells us that this is a bit of a pace up matchup for the Pacers. I’m going to get a bunch of him here, even in a tougher interior matchup. Malcolm Brogdon gets a revenge game against his old squad and is at a similar price to Sabonis. He had a fine night last night but nothing all that amazing, he’s a nice play here as well, we know he’s going to get 35+ minutes in a competitive game if they can keep this one close. Jeremy Lamb looked really good last night going for 33.75 DraftKings points, and if we know anything about this matchup, it’s that these wings should be wide open from three, so I like his chances if he can knock down some shots here. Myles Turner continues to rack up blocks like they’re going out of style with another five last night against the Grizzlies. He matches up pretty well with Brook Lopez but will take him away from the basket a little bit which may hurt his rebound/block numbers. From the Bucks, the whole team went bananas on the Blazers last time out so Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the starters finally got some blowout rest that they haven’t seen lately. The Pacers generally play the Bucks pretty tough so I like the chances that this one stays close. Giannis is averaging 58.17 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Pacers since last season, he’s an elite raw play here as usual. I’m pretty neutral on Khris Middleton, I don’t love the price tag but I get it, he has a nice floor for cash games. Jrue Holiday has turned up the heat a bit, he has at least 43 DraftKings points in three straight games and is someone I don’t mind getting to at this price tag. Brook Lopez only saw 17 minutes last time out due to Bobby Portis scorching Earth and going for 41 fantasy points, both are in play for tournaments, although I don’t love the price increase on Portis, there’s a good chance his minutes dip back around the 18-20 range in this one.
5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Giannis Antetokounmpo
4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Lamb, Myles Turner, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Myles Turner, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Donte DiVincenzo
Dallas Mavericks @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 224.0
Vegas Spread: Dal -1.5
Starting with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic has been held under 50 DraftKings points in four straight games and just seems off as of late, shows you how good he is that mid-40 fantasy games seem off. I will say, he’s had four straight pretty difficult defensive matchups with two against the Jazz and two against the Suns, so this should be a sigh of relief for this Mavs offense with the Hawks on deck. Kristaps Porzingis looked better last game in 34 minutes and his price has come down to a more playable range, I like this spot quite a bit for the unicorn. Other than these two guys, there really isn’t a whole lot that I’m interested in from Dallas, they’re similar to the Lakers in that it’s basically just the main guys soaking up all the usage. I will say, Josh Richardson looked really good last game in 37 minutes, he’s a nice cheap option if you fall in that price range. From the Hawks, Trae Young has at least 50 DraftKings points in eight straight games and is playing great basketball. He’s still underpriced on DraftKings. The Mavericks don’t really worry me on defense, so you can keep riding the hot streak here. Clint Capela has seen his price come down a bit after being in the mid $9k’s on DraftKings. The Mavs frontcourt isn’t all that defensively so I don’t mind getting to Capela this year, although he’s priced for the upper end of his median production. I don’t love the matchup for John Collins who has been pretty volatile this season, but we know the upside is there for him any given night. De’Andre Hunter will be out here which will open up minutes for guys like Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari, and Cam Reddish. All are tournament options, although I don’t trust that Gallinari is ready for enough minutes to get him into play here.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Trae Young
4-star play: Clint Capela, John Collins, Josh Richardson
Deeper Value: Josh Richardson
GPP Sleeper: Tim Hardaway Jr., Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish
New York Knicks @ Chicago Bulls
Vegas Total: 216.0
Vegas Spread: Chi -3.0
We just saw this game last night so we have something to work off of here. Starting with the Knicks, this is a great spot for Julius Randle. The Chicago frontcourt isn’t something to be afraid of and the price on Randle is pretty nice. He has at least 50 DraftKings points in two straight including 50.75 in this matchup last time out, he’s too cheap. RJ Barrett is going to continue to play huge minutes as well, he’s not a guy I’ve gotten to a ton this season, but I think he’s in play here for tournaments at the very least, I just don’t love the price tag on him. Immanuel Quickley is putting on a show for this team right now, he has at least 34 DraftKings points in three straight and is a walking bucket. I don’t know that I have the stones to play him in cash, but he’s tournament viable for sure due to his upside. Mitchell Robinson hasn’t been what I had hoped he’d be this season while getting consistent minutes, but similarly to Randle, it’s a nice matchup for opposing bigs when going into Chicago. The rest of this team is really just GPP darts on a 10 game slate, with my favorite of them being Alec Burks, but still not anyone I’m prioritizing. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine is more of a guy I want to target in fast-paced matchups, and this isn’t one of them. You’ll see in the Research Station this is a massive pace down spot for the Bulls, due to the Knicks being the slowest team in the league. I don’t see a reason to go with LaVine here. Coby White has been really volatile this season, he’s a tournament-only guy here for me just because he does have the ability to get hot, but similar to LaVine I prefer him in faster matchups. Lauri Markkanen has finally looked good for the first time in a few weeks, he’s had at least 42 DraftKings points in two straight and is a solid option here. Lastly, Otto Porter and Thad Young both make sense as GPP options if you’re looking for more pieces on this team. If Porter misses here, Young would become a really solid option at this price point with Wendell Carter already out, although it looks as if he’s probable.
5-star play: Julius Randle
4-star play: Lauri Markkanen, Immanuel Quickley
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Zach LaVine, RJ Barrett, Coby White
Los Angeles Clippers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

We’ll start with the Clippers here, I would be on the lookout for any sort of rest news with them. They’re on the second leg of a back-to-back after losing to the Nets last night where the starters saw some heavy run, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kawhi Leonard or Paul George sit here. However, that’s just reckless speculation on my end, right now they’re both in so we’ll proceed with that mentality. Kawhi dropped nearly 60 DraftKings points last night and is priced pretty nicely here, he’s a nice option in all formats. Paul George is a guy I haven’t gotten a whole lot of this season and I don’t really love this price tag, I would rather just find the money for Kawhi. Outside of those two, there isn’t a whole lot I love here, you can make a case for guys like Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson, and Nic Batum for tournaments, but nobody I’m prioritizing. From the Cavs, Andre Drummond is questionable here so keep an eye on our VIP Coaching forum for updates surrounding this situation, I’ll assume he’s out so we can use the last game as a reference. Jarrett Allen started in that game and took the Wolves frontcourt to the woodshed, going for 58 DraftKings points. We can go right back to him here if Drummond is out. Collin Sexton is a fine option as well, however, I don’t love the matchup for him, they could easily shove Kawhi or George on him and completely take him out of the game. Darius Garland looked great last game going for 40 DraftKings points and seems to be getting back to the level we saw earlier this season. Larry Nance has been ruled out for this one and we saw Taurean Prince start in his place last game where he went for 30 DraftKings points, he makes for a nice mid-range play here.
5-star play: Kawhi Leonard
4-star play: Paul George, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince
Deeper Value: JaVale McGee
GPP Sleeper: Paul George, Reggie Jackson, Serge Ibaka, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland

Washington Wizards @ Miami Heat

Starting with the Wizards, both Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook looked good last night both going for at least 48 DraftKings points. This is a tougher matchup but both are firmly in play especially given that Westbrook finally is starting to look healthy and Beal has seen a price reduction. Rui Hachimura looked great last night, he got his minutes up to 34 and was able to get to 34 DraftKings points. Minutes should be there for him going forward, but we know he can struggle on a point per-minute basis. Lastly, you can throw darts at guys like Deni Avdija and Davis Bertans in deep tournaments but that’s about it. I do like the price tag quite a bit on Avdija who should start again here and should continue to see his minutes rise. This is a great spot for the Heat, the Wizards are playing at the fastest pace in the league and playing absolutely zero defense. Bam Adebayo should be able to eat up this frontcourt that consists of Robin Lopez, Mo Wagner, and Alex Len, he’s an awesome play here. Jimmy Butler isn’t showing any signs of rust since returning from the Covid list, he has 50 burgers in his first two games back and should be in line for another one here. Tyler Herro is probable here, I don’t hate him for GPPs, but I just don’t see myself falling on him much for whatever reason. The same can be said with Goran Dragic, with Herro and Butler back it takes the shine off these guys who were great plays when this team was shorthanded.
5-star play: Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook, Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler
4-star play: Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, Tyler Herro
Deeper Value: Deni Avdija
GPP Sleeper: Davis Bertans, Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic
Houston Rockets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

We just saw this game last time out so we have something to work off here. However, we do have John Wall ruled out in this one so it won’t be quite the same. With Wall off the court this season here is how the rest of the Rockets grade out from a production standpoint:
- Christian Wood – 27.3% usage rate; 1.46 fpm
- Victor Oladipo – 34% usage rate; 1.38 fpm
- Eric Gordon – 28.5% usage rate; 1.1 fpm
These guys look like great options here and are guys I would be looking to get to in a great matchup. I’m going to let people chase that DeMarcus Cousins game he had last time out, he’s still overpriced for just seeing around 20 minutes per game. From the Thunder, we have some news here as well, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will miss this game which is a pretty big deal since he seemingly runs this offense, and with George Hill already ruled out they’ll be in desperate need of a ball handler. Here is how they grade out:
- Theo Maledon – 19.9% usage rate; 0.85 fpm
- Hamidou Diallo – 27.5% usage rate; 1.24 fpm
Those were the only two guys with decent enough sample sizes to take into consideration. Maledon should continue to start and see all the minutes he can handle here, he’s a really nice value option, as is Diallo who grades out as a really nice option at nearly 1.25 fantasy points per minute with SGA off the court. A guy I would have some interest in as well is Al Horford, he’s no stranger to needing to do some distributing in his career, my one worry would be he’d be the first guy off the court in a blowout situation.
5-star play: Christian Wood, Victor Oladipo
4-star play: Eric Gordon, Theo Maledon, Hamidou Diallo, Lu Dort, Al Horford
Deeper Value: Theo Maledon
GPP Sleeper: Lu Dort
Minnesota Timberwolves @ San Antonio Spurs
Vegas Total: 223.5

We’ll start with the Wolves, this frontcourt is a mess right now with Karl-Anthony Towns still out. Naz Reid returned to play 11 minutes last game and is probable here, while Juancho Hernangomez is questionable. Naz Reid being back and looked good in his brief time last game is a big deal for this shorthanded team. I don’t know that I have enough faith that he’ll get enough run but you can make a case for him in tournaments. Jarred Vanderbilt has been pretty meh as of late, he’s priced about right here, so not really a guy I’m all that intrigued by. Anthony Edwards has started the past three games and has at least 30 minutes in two straight. The price tag on him isn’t all that bad and is a playable tournament option. D’Angelo Russell is listed as questionable after playing 29 minutes last game out, I know his price is intriguing but I just have a tough time trusting him. Lastly, Malik Beasley is the most consistent option on this team and is in play as a secondary cash option if you fall in his range. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan had a nice bounce-back game last time out and is a guy you can get to here at a really nice price tag in a good matchup. Dejounte Murray had a dud last time out but only played 24 minutes due to a blowout, I have no issue going right back to him here. Keldon Johnson damn near dropped a 50 burger last game and was able to grab 31 minutes, I wish they would just give this kid the keys and play 35 minutes per game, that said he’s a nice GPP option especially with LaMarcus Aldridge already ruled out for this one.
5-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray
4-star play: Naz Reid, D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Keldon Johnson, Rudy Gay
Deeper Value: Rudy Gay
GPP Sleeper: Naz Reid, Jarred Vanderbilt, Anthony Edwards
Phoenix Suns @ New Orleans Pelicans
Vegas Total: 223.0
Vegas Spread: Pho -2.0
We’ll start with the Suns here, but man, if I’m being honest this is probably my least favorite team on the slate. With Devin Booker expected to play here and a decent enough defense, I just don’t see any pricing or spots that I love. I suppose you could make a case for DeAndre Ayton at $7.4k on DraftKings, but that’s not even something I love. This is pretty much a stay away team for me on this slate unless something changes or someone gets ruled out. From the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram just seems like he’s going to be living in that 30-40 DraftKings points range with the occasional 50 burger and isn’t priced for that production. He’s a GPP only guy for me here. Zion Williamson’s price has come up to a point where I don’t have a ton of interest in him either, but I could be talked into that if you’re trying to get exposure somewhere in this one. Lonzo Ball has at least 30 DraftKings points in three straight and probably is still a bit underpriced if you want to go there. Eric Bledsoe has been good as of late as well, but at this price tag, he’s a tournament only guy for me. Lastly, Steven Adams is questionable here so keep an eye on that VIP Coaching forum, Jaxson Hayes got the start for him last game and played just 11 minutes, so nothing I would be all that thrilled about. Man, what an ugly game this is for DFS purposes.
5-star play: None
4-star play: DeAndre Ayton, Zion Williamson, Lonzo Ball
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Mikal Bridges, Brandon Ingram, Eric Bledsoe
Boston Celtics @ Sacramento Kings
Vegas Total: NA
Vegas Spread: NA
We’ll round out this slate starting with the Celtics, Jayson Tatum looked great last night and I absolutely love targeting teams against the Kings. They are far and away the worst defensive team in the league, so this is a nice spot for him. Jaylen Brown had a down game last night but this is a nice bounce-back spot for him as his price starts to separate from Tatum a little bit. Kemba Walker looked solid last night as well, I’m not afraid of the supposed minutes restriction on him especially in this matchup. Those are really the only three guys for me, you can make a case for Daniel Theis who looked good last night, but this frontcourt is a bit of a mess. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox had a huge game last time out against the Pelicans and is playing big minutes right now, he’s in play for tournaments at the very least. Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley are both in play here, you can attack the Celtics in the frontcourt, and Holmes in particular is coming off a nice game last time out. Buddy Hield will always be in play for tournaments due to his ability to put up points in a hurry, and he’s getting big minutes this season which is nice to see. It wouldn’t surprise me if they shipped him at the deadline, but we’ll see on that! Harrison Barnes bounced back nicely with a 45 point fantasy outing last time out and is a guy I never hate falling on as the last piece to my lineup. Tyrese Haliburton is a guy I love at his DraftKings price tag, the minutes are consistent and he’s producing nicely.
5-star play: Jayson Tatum
4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, De’Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes, Harrison Barnes, Tyrese Haliburton
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Daniel Theis, Marvin Bagley, Buddy Hield
NBA Lock of the Day: Domantas Sabonis (DK – $8.3k; FD – $8.8k)
The price tag on Sabonis here is just stupid cheap. He’s averaging 46.7 DraftKings points per game on the season which would put him at 5.6x his DraftKings price tag here. Not to mention he’s coming off a 60 point fantasy night last night against the Grizzlies. He’s in great form and has been an excellent producer on the season. People may shy away from him here thinking he’ll get Giannis on defense, but the Bucks do so much switching that I don’t think it really applies, and if he’s able to knock down some shots, we know the three’s will be there against the Bucks. When the Research Station data is released in the morning I would expect him to be one of the better points per dollar options on the slate, love me some Sabonis here.
