We’ll kick things off with the Lake show, Anthony Davis and LeBron James come into this one listed as questionable as always, I’m just going to assume they play until they don’t. LeBron James has been the far better producer this season while Davis has struggled a bit. That said, Davis had the better game last time out going for 51 DraftKings points. They’re both great plays in a nice matchup against the Hawks. Montrezl Harrell bounced back nicely last time out going for 32.75 DraftKings points, he’s a fine option, but on a 10 game slate, I don’t see myself getting to him all that much. Then we round out the team with Dennis Schroder who gets a revenge game here against his old squad, he’s a nice GPP option. From the Hawks, Trae Young has at least 50 DraftKings points in seven straight games and is playing great basketball. He’s still underpriced on DraftKings, but the matchup does worry me. The Lakers are one of the best defensive teams in the league. All that said, I can’t overlook this price tag on him. Clint Capela has seen his price come down a bit after being in the mid $9k’s on DraftKings. They’ll need his size out there in this one and is a nice secondary option. I don’t love the matchup for John Collins who has been pretty volatile this season, but we know the upside is there for him any given night. De’Andre Hunter will be out here which will open up minutes for guys like Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari, and Cam Reddish. All are tournament options, although I don’t trust that Gallinari is ready for enough minutes to get him into play here.
5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Trae Young
4-star play: Dennis Schroder, Clint Capela, John Collins
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Montrezl Harrell, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, John Collins
Charlotte Hornets @ Miami Heat

Starting with the Hornets, Gordon Hayward had a nice bounce back game last time out, but I would expect he gets a heavy dose of Jimmy Butler here, I don’t love the spot for him. LaMelo Ball has at least 30 minutes in back to back games and dropped a 55 point fantasy night last time out against the Bucks. Terry Rozier is questionable here and if he’s out I would expect Ball to get the start and would become an elite option here even at an elevated price tag. Devonte’ Graham had a down game last time out and at this price tag, I would rather just find the extra money to get to Ball for the higher upside. PJ Washington has been volatile this season and I’m really only targeting him in good matchups, which this one isn’t against Bam Adebayo, he’s a secondary tournament option at the very best. Lastly, Cody Zeller got his minutes all the way up to 34 last game and now has at least 37 DraftKings points in two of his last three. The price tag has come up but if he’s going to continue to perform like this he’ll be hard to ignore. From the Heat, we’re going to need some news here with Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic being questionable so keep an eye on the VIP Coaching forum for updates. That said, we did get Jimmy Butler back last game and didn’t seem to be one bit limited. He played 34 minutes on his way to a 50 burger against the Kings. You can go right back to him here especially if Herro and Dragic are going to be out again. Bam Adebayo is another guy I like, the Hornets are one of the worst teams in the league against opposing big men so this is a spot he should be able to attack as well.
5-star play: LaMelo Ball (If starting), Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo
4-star play: Gordon Hayward, Devonte’ Graham, Cody Zeller
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Devonte’ Graham, PJ Washington
New York Knicks @ Chicago Bulls
Vegas Total: 218.5

Starting with the Knicks, this is a great spot for Julius Randle. The Chicago frontcourt isn’t something to be afraid of and the price on Randle is pretty nice. He has 35 minutes in three straight games and is a guy I’ll get to here. RJ Barrett is going to continue to play huge minutes as well, he’s not a guy I’ve gotten to a ton this season, but I think he’s in play here for tournaments at the very least. Immanuel Quickley is putting on a show for this team right now, he has at least 36 DraftKings points in three of his past four games and is a walking bucket. I don’t know that I have the stones to play him in cash, but he’s tournament viable for sure due to his upside. Mitchell Robinson hasn’t been what I had hoped he’d be this season while getting consistent minutes, but similarly to Randle, it’s a nice matchup for opposing bigs when going into Chicago. The rest of this team is really just GPP darts on a 10 game slate, with my favorite of them being Alec Burks, but still not anyone I’m prioritizing. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine was able to salvage his fantasy day last time out after starting terribly. His price has come up and the Knicks are one of the slower teams in basketball, I don’t really love this spot for him. Coby White has been really volatile this season, he’s a tournament-only guy here for me just because he does have the ability to get hot from the floor which he showed last game going for 33.75 DraftKings points. Lauri Markkanen finally had one of those bigger performances we have been looking for. He dropped 42.5 DraftKings points last game and should have another nice matchup here. Lastly, Otto Porter and Thad Young both make sense as GPP options if you’re looking for more pieces on this team. If Porter misses here, Young would become a really solid option at this price point with Wendell Carter already out.
5-star play: Julius Randle
4-star play: RJ Barrett, Zach LaVine, Coby White, Lauri Markkanen
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Immanuel Quickley, Mitchell Robinson, Coby White, Otto Porter, Thad Young
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Cleveland Cavaliers

We just saw this game last night so we have something to work off of here. We’ll start with the Wolves, this frontcourt is a mess right now with Karl-Anthony Towns still out. Naz Reid missed yesterday along with Juancho Hernangomez still out. The Cavs are one of the bigger frontcourts in the league so they’ll need all the size they can get out there in this one. Jarred Vanderbilt would be my favorite option but he didn’t get the start last night and only played 24 minutes while his price is coming up. He’s a fine GPP option but someone I’m prioritizing. Anthony Edwards actually got the start and played 30 minutes on his way to 41 DraftKings points. He’s been playing a lot better as of late, but it shows in his elevated price tag. D’Angelo Russell saw his minutes get up to 25 last night, I would think he gets up near the 30 mark here and is really a nice price tag at just $7k on DraftKings. Lastly, Malik Beasley is the most consistent option on this team and is in play as a secondary cash option if you fall in his range. From the Cavs, Andre Drummond went bonkers last night on his way to 62.5 DraftKings points. He played 33 minutes which was nice to see. The Wolves are the worst team in the league against opposing big men so I’m more than okay getting back to Drum dog here. Collin Sexton struggled in this one but I’m willing to overlook it, you can get to him in tournaments. Nobody else on this team really stood out last night. Larry Nance grabbed 16 boards which seems to come easy to opponents playing the Wolves but scored just two points. I think you can go back to him here as well, as he got to 32 minutes. Lastly, Darius Garland has a decent price tag here as well if you’re looking for a tournament option in his range.
5-star play: Andre Drummond
4-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Larry Nance, Collin Sexton
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Jarred Vanderbilt, Anthony Edwards, Darius Garland
Portland Trailblazers @ Milwaukee Bucks
Vegas Total: 235
Vegas Spread: Mil -10.0
Starting with the Blazers, Damian Lillard dropped 67.75 DraftKings points on the Bulls last game and gets a great matchup against a Bucks team that is lost defensively right now. Honestly, until they figure out how to keep other teams from shooting wide open three’s against them on a nightly basis, we can just continue to print money here. Coach Budenholzer, you’re officially on the Madness hot seat… get it together. Enes Kanter has at least 37 DraftKings points in three straight games, the price isn’t too bad on him either while he’s playing big minutes with Nurkic continued to be out. As much as I want to let the public chase these Gary Trent games, I can’t help but look his way as well. Yes, his three-point shooting is unsustainable, but when the Bucks aren’t going to challenge them it’s going to come relatively easy. The same can be said for Robert Covington who will likely see some good run here as he’ll be tasked with guarding Giannis on the defensive end. From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo had another big game last time out going for 72 DraftKings points. As long as the Bucks defense continues to give up wide-open three’s the Bucks will find themselves in close games which means more minutes for Giannis. He’s an elite raw option against one of the worst defenses in the league. Khris Middleton had a down game last time out and I don’t love the price tag on him but the implied total and matchup is there if you want to make a case for him. Jrue Holiday has looked really good as of late, he has at least 43 DraftKings points in back to back games and is a guy I don’t mind getting to here as well. Brook Lopez and Donte DiVincenzo draw good matchups as well, they’re both GPP options as well as Bobby Portis who is getting the backup center run and will fill in for Giannis here and there while get gets a breather.
5-star play: Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo
4-star play: Enes Kanter, Gary Trent, Robert Covington, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Brook Lopez, Donte DiVincenzo, Bobby Portis

Sacramento Kings @ New Orleans Pelicans

We’ll start things off with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox’s price tag has come down to a range that I’ll be much more willing to play him in. He’s had at least 40 DraftKings points in five of his last six games and makes sense as a nice GPP option at the very least. This is a tough spot for Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley who will have to deal with Steven Adams and Zion down low, but they’re still guys that I’m okay getting with due to their recent production if we ignore their recent game. Buddy Hield will always be in play for tournaments due to his ability to put up points in a hurry, and he’s getting big minutes this season which is nice to see. It wouldn’t surprise me if they shipped him at the deadline, but we’ll see on that! Harrison Barnes was in good form before putting up a dud last game, I’m okay going right back to him if you fall in this price range. Tyrese Haliburton is a guy I love at his DraftKings price tag, the minutes are consistent and he’s producing nicely. Lastly, Hassan Whiteside has snuck his way into the rotation and has 20 minutes in back to back games if you need a punt center option. From the Pelicans, I love targeting teams against the Kings, they’re far and away the worst team in the league in terms of defensive efficiency. Brandon Ingram just seems like he’s going to be living in that 30-40 DraftKings points range with the occasional 50 burger and isn’t priced for that production. He’s a GPP only guy for me here. Zion Williamson’s price has come up but this is an elite spot for him, he also has at least 40 DraftKings points in four straight games. Lonzo Ball has seen his production pick up as of late and if they’re truly shopping him, no better matchup to show him off in than this one at a cheap DraftKings price tag. Eric Bledsoe has been good as of late as well, but at this price tag, he’s a tournament only guy for me. Lastly, Steven Adams is questionable here so keep an eye on that VIP Coaching forum, but if he’s out I have a suspicion that Jaxson Hayes would become an awesome value option.
5-star play: Zion Williamson, Lonzo Ball
4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes, Marvin Bagley, Harrison Barnes, Tyrese Haliburton, Brandon Ingram
Deeper Value: Hassan Whiteside
GPP Sleeper: Buddy Hield, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Ingram, Hassan Whiteside
Houston Rockets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Starting with the Rockets, Christian Wood has seen his minutes come down a bit but he’s still over 30 minutes in most of his games. He has at least 40 DraftKings points in his past seven games, he’s a nice option here. Victor Oladipo has at least 40 DraftKings points in two straight and doesn’t seem to be impacted all that much by John Wall being in the lineup. Speaking of John Wall, his minutes came down a bit last game but I’ll chalk that up to a blowout. He has at least 35 DraftKings points in his last three games, I like him again here. DeMarcus Cousins just isn’t going to be in play with Wood in there, he has just 11 and 13 minutes in the two games that Wood has returned in. Other than the main three guys, you can make a case for Eric Gordon, but with everyone healthy, I’d just rather not at this price tag. From the Thunder, the price seems pretty nice on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander considering the matchup, I like getting to him in GPPs more than anything due to his volatility at times. Al Horford has returned and is looking great right now, even in smaller minutes he’s doing well. Last game he dropped 37 DraftKings points in just 24 minutes right after dropping nearly a 50 burger in 30 minutes the game before. He’s a great option here and may get overlooked. Darius Bazley has at least 30 DraftKings points in two of his last three but has been really volatile this season, he’s a GPP option, however. Lastly, Lu Dort’s production has come down but so has his price tag if you need a punt option, he has a tendency to run himself into the occasional 30 point fantasy night.
5-star play: Christian Wood, Al Horford
4-star play: Victor Oladipo, John Wall, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Deeper Value: Lu Dort
GPP Sleeper: Eric Gordon, Darius Bazley, Hamidou Diallo
Phoenix Suns @ Dallas Mavericks
Vegas Total: 215

We just saw this matchup a few days ago so we have something to work off of here. Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker is questionable here, so keep an eye on the VIP Coaching forum for updates. If he plays I don’t necessarily want him coming off an injury but it would impact the rest of these guys. DeAndre Ayton finally had a bounce-back game last time out going for 47 DraftKings points. You can go right back to him here again, the Mavs frontcourt isn’t so great defensively. Chris Paul had a massive game last time out going for nearly 60 DraftKings points, if Booker is out again you can go right back to the well. It’s been these wings that have picked up Booker’s slack recently, Jae Crowder, Mikal Bridges, and Cameron Johnson are all in play at their respective price ranges. That being said, I’m close to blacklisting Cam Johnson, I can never get that guy right, he threw up a dud for me last time out. From Dallas, Luka Doncic has been held under 50 DraftKings points in three straight and had just 49 last game with Porzingis out. This Suns defense can come to play, that said, he’s still Luka Doncic and is matchup proof if you want to get here. Kristaps Porzingis has just been flat-out bad recently, he got in foul trouble last game which hurt him but his price is coming down so I think you can get here in tournaments in hopes that he gets hot from the field. Other than these two guys, there really isn’t a whole lot that I’m interested in from Dallas, they’re similar to the Lakers in that it’s basically just the main guys soaking up all the usage.
5-star play: DeAndre Ayton, Chris Paul, Luka Doncic
4-star play: Jae Crowder, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Cam Johnson, Tim Hardawy Jr.
Memphis Grizzlies @ San Antonio Spurs
Vegas Total: 221

This is another game we just saw, so we can work off that one here. Starting with the Grizzlies, it looks like Jonas Valanciunas will be out again so we can expect Xavier Tillman to draw the start. His price did come up but he got 21 minutes on his way to 24 DraftKings points last time out. Ja Morant saw a price increase, but still feels like a nice option here, he scored 37 fantasy points in this spot last time out. Then the trio of Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke, and Kyle Anderson are all GPP plays for me, you can make a case for Clarke in cash however, he may see some center minutes in this one. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan killed a lot of lineups last time out, if people are going to be off of him due to that game I’ll go right back to him here at a cheap DraftKings price tag. Dejounte Murray continues to produce nicely, I still think he’s way too cheap here and a nice option in all formats if with Derrick White back. Keldon Johnson saw just 21 minutes last game, but we can chalk that up to the blowout, he’s in play for tournaments here. Lastly, LaMarcus Aldridge just never floats my boat, but the price tag is really low on him if you’re looking for someone in this range, you could do worse.
5-star play: Ja Morant, DeMar DeRozan
4-star play: Xavier Tillman, Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke, Dejounte Murray
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Keldon Johnson, LaMarcus Aldridge
Detroit Pistons @ Denver Nuggets
Vegas Total: 221.5

Starting with the Pistons, we get a Jerami Grant revenge game! His production has come down a bit over his past two games but they’ve been both due to blowout. He’s been their most consistent producer this season and someone I think you can go back to here. Delon Wright has seen his minutes trend in the wrong direction, he’s not someone I’m getting to on a big slate. Blake Griffin is GPP only due to his volatility this season, but they will need his size out there. The same can be said for Mason Plumlee, the only issue I have with him is he tends to take himself out of games with foul trouble… a matchup with Jokic isn’t necessarily ideal for a guy who struggles to keep his hands to himself. Lastly, you can make a case for Wayne Ellington in GPPs if you’re looking to get another guy in a hammer game. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic went bananas yesterday going for 77.5 DraftKings points, there isn’t a guy on the Pistons that will be able to stop him, he’s an elite raw play here but I do worry about a potential blowout. Jamal Murray is more of a tournament option than anything due to his volatility but has massive upside as we know. The same can be said for Michael Porter Jr., but to a more extreme measure. Other than these three, there really isn’t much else I have interest in from the Nuggets.
5-star play: Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Jerami Grant, Jamal Murray
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Blake Griffin, Wayne Ellington, Mason Plumlee, Michael Porter Jr., Jamal Murray
NBA Lock of the Day: Lonzo Ball (DK – $5.5k; FD – $5.7k)
The cover boy! An early look at the slate has me pretty heavy on Lonzo here, we’ll likely get better value that opens up, but either way, Lonzo feels underpriced considering the matchup. The Kings are the worst team in the league when it comes to defensive efficiency and Lonzo has seemed to found his footing after returning from injury. The NBA Domination Station – DFS Army has him projected for 32.35 DraftKings points which would put him at nearly 6x his DraftKings price tag, he’s a guy I love as a first look option. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 5x tonight I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
