Starting with the Sixers, Joel Embiid finally had the big night that I’ve been looking for last night. He gets another great matchup here against the Nets and his price went down a couple hundred dollars. He’s an awesome play again here. Ben Simmons looked pretty good as well last game. There isn’t really anyone on this Nets defense that will slow him down. Tobias Harris continues to play well but his price is about the highest I want to go on him without minimizing your GPP ceiling. Seth Curry bounced back really nicely last night with 41 DraftKings points. He fits really well on this team and is someone I don’t mind getting to here. From the Nets, Kevin Durant is going to be out again here due to Covid protocols. Kyrie Irving dropped 51 DraftKings points with him out last game. He went bonkers in the first quarter so it’s a little surprising he didn’t finish with an even higher score. Caris LeVert only played 21 minutes due to the blowout against the Jazz. When a player of his caliber is in the second unit and they win by 30+ he’s just not going to see the minutes that the starters do, so I’m ignoring the fact that they went down. He still had 36 DraftKings points in that short time. Jarrett Allen had a big night but DeAndre Jordan got into foul trouble in a hurry, so I wouldn’t expect that kind of production again. That said, I don’t hate going back to him in GPPs, he’s shown a nice ceiling in the past. Joe Harris came off the bench which was odd, I’ll be off him here if he’s on the bench again to start. We sow Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, and Taurean Prince start last game. Brown had the best game surprisingly enough with 20.5 DraftKings points. They’re all $3.5k on DraftKings so my favorite option would probably be Brown here again. Green and Prince were invisible out there.
5-star play: Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Kyrie Irving, Caris LeVert
4-star play: Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, Jarrett Allen
Deeper Value: Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, Taurean Prince
GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Allen, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Starting with the Cavaliers, I really wish the Cavaliers would just play Drummond 30+ minutes per game. He saw 26 minutes last night on his way to 42 DraftKings points. I don’t love the matchup, but I also don’t hate it. Joe Val can be pretty stingy on the other end but this price on Drummond is really nice. Darius Garland is going to be out again here for the Cavaliers which should open up more minutes and usage for more guys in this backcourt. Nobody really shined yesterday and it’s a mother slow paced matchup here, so nothing I’m prioritizing. Larry Nance hasn’t looked good in a few games now and gets a slow matchup again here, he’s a guy I like to target in up-tempo matchups. Collin Sexton should be in play here again with Garland out but I don’t love the matchup. From the Grizzlies, this Grizzlies backcourt is about to get a bit messier now that De’Anthony Melton is off the injury report. Tyus Jones and Desmond Bane were eating up the guard minutes but now that Melton is in there we’ll have to watch how these rotations play out. Melton did see 16 minutes in his first game back so at nearly min salary on DraftKings I think you can make a case here. Jonas Valanciunas has been pretty consistent as of late and I don’t hate the matchup, Drummond doesn’t scare me on defense. Dillon Brooks has looked pretty good this season but hasn’t really shown the best ceiling over the past few games for his price tag. He’s fine for cash, but in a slow matchup, that’s about it for me. Kyle Anderson seems to be getting back to himself and not scoring 40 fantasy points a night any longer, he’s a fine cash play I just hate playing him.
5-star play: Andre Drummond
4-star play: Collin Sexton, Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks
Deeper Value: De’Anthony Melton
GPP Sleeper: Larry Nance, Kyle Anderson
Dallas Mavericks @ Denver Nuggets
Vegas Total: 225.5
Vegas Spread: Den -3.5
Starting with the Nuggets, Michael Porter Jr. will be back for this game which should bring the usage for guys like Murray and Jokic down while taking away some minutes and opportunity from Will Barton and Paul Millsap. The price on Porter Jr. went way up while he was out and is now over $7k, he’s a GPP option simply due to his ceiling. We saw Jamal Murray was not good last time out but we know what we’re getting into with him. He can be volatile, but the upside is there every night. Nikola Jokic dropped 70 DraftKing points last time out and is an elite option here as well in a pretty nice matchup against a weak Mavs frontcourt. Gary Harris just doesn’t show enough production for me to want to get there even on a short slate. From the Mavericks, Luka Doncic finally had that game we’ve been waiting for in dropping 71 DraftKings points. This is a tough matchup against the Nuggets but he’s matchup proof on a 5 game slate. Tim Hardaway had a big game last time out as well and is always in play for GPPs for me. Josh Richardson had a down game but those are going to happen with him, the minutes were still there so he’s viable in GPP at the very least.
5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Luka Doncic
4-star play: Josh Richardson, Tim Hardaway, Michael Porter
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Josh Richardson, Tim Hardaway, Michael Porter
San Antonio Spurs @ Los Angeles Lakers

Starting with the Lakers, Anthony Davis and LeBron James are both questionable here. This will likely be the case for the Lakers for most of the season. I’ll operate as if they’re both in for now. However, keep an eye on the news from the Lakers and jump in our VIP coaching forums for updates and breakdowns on who they impact most. They’re both elite plays should they end up playing. The only other guy I would have interest in is Dennis Schroder, as I continue to target point guards against the Spurs. He’s averaging 30.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Spurs already this season. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan has been great all season and averaging 45 DraftKings points per game against the Lakers in two games this season. Dejounte Murray bounced back last time out and has looked great this season, I like going right back to him here. Keldon Johnson has been great so far this season, but the price is getting pretty high especially with Aldridge back. LaMarcus Aldridge returned last game to score 27 DraftKings points in 25 minutes, he’s an alright option here at a nice price tag.
5-star play: Anthony Davis, LeBron James
4-star play: Dennis Schroder, DeMar DeRozan, Keldon Johnson
Deeper Value: Lonnie Walker
GPP Sleeper: LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar DeRozan, Montrezl Harrell

Starting with the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns will continue to be out here. Ed Davis continues to start for him while Naz Reid barely left the bench last game. Neither are really in play for me here. Juancho Hernangomez went bananas last game, I’m not sure I would expect that again here but I do expect him to get some more minutes here in a good matchup. D’Angelo Russell’s had a huge game last time out as well and in a matchup against what might be the worst defense in the league, I like it. Malik Beasley, Ricky Rubio, and Anthony Edwards are all GPP guys but that’s about it. From the Blazers, CJ McCollum continues to play well, I just can’t justify paying this price for him, I don’t think he can sustain the pace he’s on right now. That said, we may get to some point where I may just have to accept the fact that he’s a playable DFS piece at this price range. Damian Lillard hasn’t shown off that massive ceiling this year like we know he has, but I like going to him here regardless in watch should be the highest-scoring game on the slate. I was all over Jusuf Nurkic last game and he had a season-high 37.75 DraftKings points. I think we can go right back to him here in a great matchup against the KAT-less Wolves. Robert Covington and Derrick Jones Jr. are GPP guys who have been really volatile this season. Lastly, Carmelo Anthony has seen some nice minutes since coming back and performed pretty well in them, I’m okay with him here as well.
5-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Jusuf Nurkic, Damian Lillard
4-star play: Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, CJ McCollum
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Ricky Rubio, Anthony Edwards, Robert Covington Derrick Jones, Carmelo Anthony

NBA Lock of the Day: Andre Drummond (DK – $8.4k; FD – $9.2k)
I’m going right back to Drummond here tonight! His price came DOWN from what I already thought was a low price tag yesterday. The frustrating part with him is the minutes he’s getting. If he saw 30+ minutes per night he’d be a $10k player. The Research Station has him projected for 48 DraftKings points which gives him a 5.72x value on his DraftKings price tag. We know the ceiling that this guy has and if he goes out and puts up a 50-60 point fantasy night, you’re going to need him tonight, plain and simple. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 5x tonight I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
