Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Utah Jazz @ Brooklyn Nets
Vegas Total: N/A
Vegas Spread: Utah -2.5
Starting with the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are pretty similar options, both are great options against a Brooklyn team that hasn’t shown signs of defense this season. Mike Conley had a bit of a dud last game but has still looked great this season, he’s in play here at a reasonable price tag. Bojan Bogdanovic FINALLY shot well last time out, and I mean REALLY well. He shot 6-7 from three and 10-13 from the field, if this is a start to a hot streak, I want a lot of him in a fast matchup. Lastly, Jordan Clarkson and Royce O’Neale both make sense as GPP options and I like O’Neale as a value play due to the minutes he’s getting. From the Nets, Kevin Durant is going to be out here due to Covid protocols which opens up a bunch of usage in this offense. It’s a small sample size but with Durant off the court this season Kyrie Irving has a 33% usage rate and 1.73 fantasy points per minute. Caris LeVert also sees a huge bump with a 36.8% usage rate and 1.43 fantasy points per minute. Both guys are elite options here. Lastly, Joe Harris is in play as well in that mid-range.
5-star play: Kyrie Irving, Caris LeVert, Donovan Mitchell
4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Joe Harris, Bojan Bogdanovic
Deeper Value: Royce O’Neale
GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson, Jarett Allen, Joe Ingles
Los Angeles Lakers @ Memphis Grizzlies
Vegas Total: 218
Vegas Spread: Lal -9.0
We just saw this matchup a few days ago so we have something to work off in this one. Starting with the Lakers, Anthony Davis sounds like he’ll be good to go here but tell me if you’ve heard this before… LeBron James comes in as questionable. This will likely be the case for the Lakers for most of the season. I’ll operate as if they’re both in for now. However, keep an eye on the news from the Lakers and jump in our VIP coaching forums for updates and breakdowns on who they impact most. They’re both elite plays should they end up playing. The only other guy I would have interest in is Dennis Schroder, as the Grizzlies tend to run pretty quick, he only had 19 fantasy points in this matchup last time out but I’m willing to go right back to well. From the Grizzlies, this Grizzlies backcourt is about to get a bit messier now that De’Anthony Melton is off the injury report. Tyus Jones and Desmond Bane were eating up the guard minutes but now that Melton is in there we’ll have to watch how these rotations play out. Melton did see 24 minutes in his first game on 12/23, but until we see him back in the rotation you can avoid him. Jonas Valanciunas has been pretty consistent as of late but this is a tough matchup against the Lakers, he’s more of a GPP option than anything. Dillon Brooks looks great right now, he has at least 29 DraftKings points in four of his first six games this year, and with Ja off the court his usage and shot quantity will go up, he’s a great play in a nice matchup. Kyle Anderson finally came down to Earth last game but even has bad game wasn’t bad scoring 25 DraftKings points. He’s playable in cash surprisingly enough.
5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis
4-star play: Dennis Schroder, Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Anderson
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, Dillon Brooks
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Denver Nuggets

This is another game that we have some data on with these two who played just a few days ago. Starting with the Nuggets, Michael Porter Jr. will be out for this game which frees up more usage in this offense. We saw Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic have big games last time out and are great plays again in this one in a great matchup against a bad defense. Murray has been especially good over his last two games going for at least 48 DraftKings points in each. Will Barton saw 36 minutes two games ago and then 22 min last game with Porter out, well he scored more fantasy points in the game with 22 minutes. He can be a great point per minute player depending on the night, I like him for GPPs in a good matchup. Gary Harris saw big minutes as well but is just less productive on a per-minute basis. Lastly, you can make a case for Paul Millsap, but he’s just kind of meh for me. From the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns will continue to be out here. Naz Reid saw a minute decrease last game and didn’t start. Unless he starts I really don’t want him in a tough matchup against Jokic and company. D’Angelo Russell’s bounced back a little last game but I really don’t love anyone else on this team, you can make a case in GPPs for guys like Malik Beasley, Ricky Rubio, and Anthony Edwards but that’s about it, Beasley did have a huge night last time out.
5-star play: Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic
4-star play: De’Angelo Russel, Malik Beasley, Will Barton, Paul Millsap
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Will Barton, Ricky Rubio, Anthony Edwards
San Antonio Spurs @ Los Angeles Clippers

Starting with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan has been great all season but in a matchup against Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, I’ll take the high road. Dejounte Murray has been down a bit over the last two games, however, we found out that Derrick White will be out again with a fracture in his foot, so Murray’s minutes remain safe. Keldon Johnson has been great so far this season, as long as Aldridge is out again he’s firmly in play. That being said, White will be out here which will open up Lonnie Walker as a play again. LaMarcus Aldridge is questionable for this one after missing the last game, Jakob Poeltl would get the start if he’s forced to miss, but I won’t have much interest there. From the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard had a down game last time out but I have a hard time thinking he won’t give it his all here against his old team. Paul George has three straight 50 point DraftKings nights and is someone you can make a case for GPPs. Serge Ibaka had a dud last time out as well, he’s been volatile this season so I’ll leave him for GPPs as well. Lou Williams is a GPP play only because it’s a shorter slate, a deep GPP play at that. Nic Batum should continue to start with Marcus Morris out, he’s looked pretty good and can be played as a low-end guy in this price range.
5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George
4-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Keldon Johnson, Serge Ibaka
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker, Nic Batum, Lou Williams, Serge Ibaka
Chicago Bulls @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total: 233.5
Vegas Spread: Por -9.5
At the moment, this is the highest implied total on the slate in the late-night hammer. Starting with the Bulls, Lauri Markkanen and Tomas Satoransky are out tonight due to Covid protocols. Otto Porter continues to be the biggest beneficiary and is play again here in a fast-paced game with no defense. Zach LaVine went banana’s last game and in another great matchup here, I’ll go right back to the well. Coby White looked good as well last game. The Blazers might legitimately have the worst defense in the league so I’ll get some Coby here as well. Lastly, Wendell Carter is a guy I can never get right but he’s in play for me even though Nurkic can play some tough defense. From the Blazers, CJ McCollum continues to play well but that price tag is too high for my liking even in a good matchup against the Bulls. At some point I may just have to accept the fact that he’s a playable DFS piece at this price range. Damian Lillard hasn’t shown off that massive ceiling this year like we know he has, but I like going to him here regardless in watch should be a shootout. Jusuf Nurkic had a down game last time out but should be able to do whatever he wants in this one, he’s more of a GPP guy due to his minutes being down. Robert Covington and Derrick Jones Jr. are GPP guys who have been really volatile this season. Lastly, Enes Kanter had a big game last time out but that’s not something I’m going to chase here.
5-star play: Zach LaVine, Damian Lillard
4-star play: Coby White, Otto Porter, CJ McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Wendell Carter, Robert Covington, Jusuf Nurkic

NBA Lock of the Day: Caris LeVert (DK – $6.6k; FD – $6.1k)
As I touched on in the first game of the slate, Kevin Durant is going to miss this game due to Covid protocols which is going to open up a ton of usage and minutes in this Nets rotation. LeVert is a guy that should benefit quite a bit and even in a tough matchup against the Jazz, I’m okay going here. With Durant and Dinwiddie off the court this season we actually have a decent sample size of LeVert having a 36.8% usage rate and 1.43 fantasy points per minute. The price is just too low for him in this spot. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 5x tonight I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
