Indiana Pacers @ Charlotte Hornets

We kick this slate off with a game with a very low implied total at just 200. Starting with the Pacers, the big news here is that Domantas Sabonis was injured last game and is questionable here. For the sake of this article, I’ll operate under the assumption that he plays. That said, if he’s out, make sure to jump into the VIP Coaching forum for updates on who comes into play with him off the court, a lot of these guys will see a nice usage boost if that is the case. If he plays without a minutes limit here I like him a good amount against a team that is pretty terrible against opposing big men. Malcolm Brogdon dropped a 60 point fantasy game last time out but that was mostly without Sabonis on the floor, so we know that’s one guy we can target if Sabonis is forced to miss. I don’t love the price tag on Brogdon in this matchup however if Sabonis plays. Myles Turner has looked really good as of late, racking up blocks like they’re going out of style. The price tag is up but so are the minutes, he’s a very solid option again here. Lastly, Jeremy Lamb finally got his minutes into the 30’s last game and was able to score 36 DraftKings points. His price shot up a bit but I think you can go right back to him in hopes that he slides right into that Victor Oladipo role for this team. From the Hornets, Gordon Hayward is starting to look like his old self again from twelve injuries ago. He has at least 43 DraftKings points in three straight games and playing heavy minutes. The price tag is still nice on him as well. LaMelo Ball has seen his minutes trend in the wrong direction as of late, on a huge slate, I just don’t have any interest in paying this price tag for him in anything outside of a deep tournament. Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham have been the more productive players, but I just don’t really have a lot of interest in guards that feel appropriately priced in a low total game. PJ Washington had a down game last night and is a guy I can never seem to get right, he’s a fine GPP option here, but I hate the price tag. Lastly, Cody Zeller got his minutes up to 18 last game, still not a guy I’m going to get a ton of until his minutes are back up, but if we get to lock tomorrow without much value.. you could probably do worse.
5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon (If Sabonis is out), Gordon Hayward
4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb, Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham
Deeper Value: Cody Zeller
GPP Sleeper: LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham, PJ Washington
Detroit Pistons @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Vegas Total: 214.5
Vegas Spread: Cle -2.0
Starting with the Pistons, Jerami Grant continues to be the model of consistency. He finally shot well last game which got him to 48 DraftKings points. This isn’t a matchup that really worries me, the worry comes with the price tag, but he’s been good enough to warrant it. Blake Griffin will be rested here so that will open up some minutes on the wing and frontcourt for this team. That being said, the combination of Josh Jackson and Saddiq Bey isn’t all that interesting to me on a big slate. Delon Wright went absolutely banana’s last game going for 56 DraftKings points, he has at least 36 minutes in two straight games. That said, it seems like Derrick Rose will be back for this game and the price jumped up too much for me to have a whole lot of interest. They will likely need Mason Plumlee’s size in this one so I like the chances of him getting some full run. We’ve seen him get those extended minutes against teams with solidified bigs, however, he can’t seem to keep his hands to himself. He has fouled out in four of the last five games. He’s still a fine GPP option if you need a mid-range center option. From the Cavaliers, Andre Drummond gets a revenge game here and has at least 48 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. The price tag isn’t so bad on him when we consider the ceiling, but the minutes are going to be all over the place. With Jarrett Allen in town, it’s hard to determine if he’ll see 30 minutes or 21, he’s a deep tournament option at best. Collin Sexton bounced back nicely last game, I like the price discount he got as well, he’s a nice play here. Larry Nance is questionable here, if he’s forced to miss again I would have slightly more interest in these bigs that we’re worried about minutes on. Jarrett Allen is actually getting the more consistent run between him and Drummond, but not doing nearly as much with them. Lastly, Darius Garland got his minutes up to 26 last games, there’s a chance they just fully take him off his minute’s restriction here, if that’s the case I like the price tag a good deal.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Jerami Grant, Mason Plumlee, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Delon Wright, Mason Plumlee, Derrick Rose, Andre Drummond, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland
Sacramento Kings @ Orlando Magic
Vegas Total: 221.0

Starting with Orlando, this is an elite spot for Nikola Vucevic who dropped 57 DraftKings points last time out against the Hornets, I like going right back to the well here. Aaron Gordon returned from injury to play 34 minutes, I like this spot for him as well, he’s been really effective this season when given the minutes. Evan Fournier has been really good as well, he has at least 35 DraftKings points in three straight games. I don’t love the price tag but it’s definitely warranted. Terrence Ross has been the odd man out with the other guys doing all the producing, that said, he’s always in play for tournaments due to his ability to score in bunches. From the Kings, I just hate this price tag on De’Aaron Fox, he’s priced as if he’s a consistent 45-50 points fantasy producer, which he really isn’t. However, he has those games where he explodes for 70, so I get the pricing, I just won’t be getting here. Richaun Holmes is another guy I can never seem to get right, he has at least 35 minutes in three straight games and this matchup isn’t awful if you’re looking to go here. Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes are fine secondary tournament options if you need one in this price range. The same can be said for Tyrese Haliburton and Marvin Bagley to round out this team, nobody that really stands out to me here from the Kings.
5-star play: Nikola Vucevic
4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, De’Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Terrence Ross, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Tyrese Haliburton, Marvin Bagley, De’Aaron Fox
Brooklyn Nets @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 200
Vegas Spread: Bkn -7.0
My first thought on this game is this total looks incredibly low for two teams who don’t play defense, but we’ll get started nonetheless. Starting with the Nets, I’m just going to have a hard time getting to the big three of Kevin Durant, James Harden, or Kyrie Irving if they’re all healthy and in the lineup. It’s going to be too hard trying to predict who will have the big night on a day-to-day basis and I don’t think it’s worth the risk on a massive slate. I’d have more of a tendency to get to some of these ancillary pieces like DeAndre Jordan or Joe Harris if you’re looking to get a piece of this game. From Atlanta, Trae Young seems to found his footing a bit. He has at least 50 DraftKings points in five straight games. This is a matchup that I like as well, the Nets are prioritizing offense over defense right now and it shows, he’s a nice play here. Clint Capela continues to eat up frontcourts, and Brooklyn’s is not good right now with DeAndre Jordan leading the helm. It feels odd paying this price tag for him right now but he’s crushing and in play here. John Collins has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is another guy I like targeting in this spot particularly for GPPs. De’Andre Hunter has been sneakily very consistent this season he’s in play here if you’re looking to get some more pieces in this game. The rest of these wing guys are really unplayable to me unless a couple of them are out, talking about guys like Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, and Danilo Gallinari.
5-star play: Trae Young, Clint Capela
4-star play: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, John Collins, De’Andre Hunter
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Huerter
Denver Nuggets @ Miami Heat
Vegas Total: NA
Vegas Spread: Den -5.0
Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic had a down game in his terms last time out going for just 43 DraftKings points. I don’t hate getting to him again here at a cheaper price tag than we’re used to seeing on him. It’s a pretty average to below-average matchup, but he’s the league MVP in my eyes right now. Jamal Murray had a bad game as well last time out but played just 25 minutes. You can get back to him in tournaments here just because we know the price tag that he can bring. Michael Porter Jr. turned out to be the man last time out going for 46 DraftKings points in 28 minutes. I like him for tournaments as well, he and Murray have the ability to just go nuclear on any given night. Will Barton saw his minutes come crashing down with Porter scooping up a lot of them, he’s out of play for me now that Porter is back in the rotation. From the Heat, it sounds like they may start to be getting healthier. Tyler Herro is questionable to return here, while Goran Dragic was injured last game and is questionable as well. If Herro returns, keep an eye out for any sort of minutes limit on him, but if he’s set loose, I like him a good deal here, the Nuggets defense hasn’t been what we’re accustomed to seeing from them. Kendrick Nunn had a down game last time out but still played 35 minutes, he’s more in play for me if Herro is out again. Lastly, Bam Adebayo draws a tough matchup with Jokic on the defensive end, he’s more of a GPP play due to that.
5-star play: Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn (If Herro is out), Bam Adebayo
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Jamal Murray, Michael Poreter Jr., Duncan Robinson, Kelly Olynyk, Bam Adebayo

Los Angeles Lakers @ Philadelphia 76ers

Starting with the Lakers, LeBron James is questionable… tell me if you’ve heard that before, while Anthony Davis is listed as questionable as well. I’ll operate under the assumption that they’re both playing here. LeBron is coming off a 75 point DraftKings outing last time out, you can go right back to him here at under $10k on DraftKings. Anthony Davis should have a fun matchup with Embiid down low, I love the price tag on him here as well, he’s an elite option. Other than them, I never love getting to these ancillary guys on the Lakers just due to the usage that Davis and LeBron command but you can make a case for Montrezl Harrell and Dennis Schroder in tournaments. From the Sixers, Joel Embiid should return here and has scored at least 58 DraftKings points in three straight games. It’s a tough matchup for him but this price tag is too low. Ben Simmons got into quick foul trouble last time out which really killed him. I don’t hate getting to him as a secondary option here due to his ability to get you there in a variety of ways. Tobias Harris feels like a fine option as well, nobody that I have a super heavy lean on. Lastly, Seth Curry is questionable, if he’s forced to miss Shake Milton would come into play for tournaments at that price tag.
5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid
4-star play: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroeder
Milwaukee Bucks @ Toronto Raptors
Vegas Total: 200

Starting with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo has seen his minutes come up this season which is nice but seems like his points per minute have gone down which may just be due to the additions to the team they made and with Khris Middleton taking over some more ball-handling duties as well. That said, he’s still a nice option here, I just think I would take the savings on a guy like Nikola Jokic for a few hundred dollars less, he’s still an elite option in all formats, however. Speaking of Khris Middleton, he has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and shot just 1-6 from three last game. So he has ways of getting you there even if he’s not shooting great, I wish he was a little cheaper but he’s still a fine option. Jrue Holiday is in a similar boat, I’d like him if he were a bit cheaper, but he’s still going to get good run and can run himself into a 50 burger if he can rack up some steals and blocks with a nice shooting night. Brook Lopez lost some minute to Bobby Portis last game who finished with 30 DraftKings points. That being said, Lopez’s minutes have been pretty consistent since the start of the year, so I’m not all that worried about it. Lastly, Donte DiVincenzo continues to put up respectable numbers and is in play for tournaments. From the Raptors, Paskal Siakam is considered questionable in this game so keep an eye on that VIP Coaching forum for updates on who gets the biggest boost if he’s ultimately ruled out. If he does play here, I have no issue with him in GPPs, but not producing consistently enough for me to play in cash. Fred VanVleet has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and we know he can destroy this Milwaukee team if he gets hot from three, so he’s a nice option in all formats. Kyle Lowry didn’t look so hot last game going for just 17 DraftKings points but if that keeps the public low on him, maybe you can get him at pretty low owned. Chris Boucher saw 30 minutes last game which was nice to see, hopefully, this is a trend that will continue, I like him for GPPs as well. Lastly, I can’t pay this price tag for Norman Powell if everybody is healthy so he’s a fade if Siakam is in there, it’s even hard for me to like him if Siakam is out at this price.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo
4-star play: Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Kyle Lowry
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Donte DiVincenzo, Bobby Portis, Chris Boucher
Boston Celtics @ San Antonio Spurs

Starting with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan is coming off a dud last night and is kind of meh for me, I don’t love the price or matchup so if you want to get to him you can, but I won’t be forcing him in at all. Dejounte Murray dropped 46 DraftKings points last night and is going to carry a nice ceiling all season long, I like him in GPPs. I hope the Spurs trade LaMarcus Aldrige and Rudy Gay at the deadline and just hand the keys to guys like Keldon Johnson and Lonnie Walker. Aldridge is a fine option but I’ll take the upside on Johnson in this spot. From the Celtics, it sounds like they should finally have their starters fully healthy here… which kind of gets me off them, but we’ll get there. Jayson Tatum returned to play 31 minutes last game on his way to 39 DraftKings points. The 30 minutes was encouraging and makes me think he doesn’t have a minutes limit in this one. Jaylen Brown had a pretty similar game, at his price point I would rather just find the few extra hundred to get up to Tatum. Marcus Smart has been cooking as of late, he has at least 37 DraftKings points in four straight games, I don’t love the price tag on him and would rather go down to Kemba but I guess you can make a case for him in GPPs if you really want to. Speaking of Kemba Walker, he has looked great since returning this season, I like the price on him a good deal and think he should be pretty close to losing that minutes restriction.
5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker
4-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, Lonnie Walker, Marcus Smart, Daniel Theis
Washington Wizards @ New Orleans Pelicans
Vegas Total: 200
Vegas Spread: Nop -7.0
Starting with the Wizards, free Bradley Beal, send him anywhere where he can help a team win, PLEASE! He looked great again in a blowout loss against the Rockets last night. The price is huge on him but he’s averaging 51.6 DraftKings points per game this season. Russell Westbrook played 28 minutes last night after they said he’d have his minutes monitored. I would expect that to be lifted here and is at a really nice price tag. We’ll have to wait for news on these wings’ availability but on a massive slate, I don’t think we really need them here anyway, just Westbrook and Beal interest for me from this team. From the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram has just been down from a production standpoint as of late. He has scored under 40 DraftKings points in seven straight games. That being said, this is a nice matchup for the Pelicans in this one so I don’t mind taking a GPP stab at him. I would much rather take the savings on Zion Williamson however, he’s been the more consistent option this season and should be able to do what he wants down low in this one with just Robin Lopez and Alex Len standing in his way. The same can be said for Steven Adams, he should grab all the rebounds in this one if you’re looking for a mid-range center option even though he’s coming off a brutal game against the Wolves last time out. Lonzo Ball got his minutes up to 30 last game and was able to get 33 DraftKings points in them, if he’s off his minutes limit here I’ll get quite a bit of him at this price tag. Eric Bledsoe is going to be a tournament play here, as usual, if he’s playing well he’ll see good minutes but he has a knack of running himself off the court. We saw the good side of him last game going for 41.75 DraftKings points.
5-star play: Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook, Zion Williamson
4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Steven Adams, Lonzo Ball, Eric Bledsoe
Deeper Value: Alex Len
GPP Sleeper: Brandon Ingram, Eric Bledsoe, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Spread: Pho -6.0
Starting with the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games and is a guy I don’t mind getting to in GPPs, but it is a tougher matchup against a fairly decent Suns defense. Al Horford feels like he’s on the doubtful side of questionable as he’s out due to personal reasons. If he’s out again we can go back to the Isaiah Roby train. Roby has at least 25DraftKings points in two of his last three games and looks good out there. Darius Bazley finally had a decent game last time out, I don’t hate going back to him again if Horford is out again. Lastly, George Hill and Mike Muscala are fine tournament options if you need some roster fillers. Hill missed the last game while Theo Maledon got the start, but I would prefer Hamidou Diallo off the bench if you’re looking for someone who sees a benefit. From the Suns, Devin Booker will be out again here for the Suns, here is how the rest of the team grades out with him off the court this season:
- Chris Paul – 23.6% usage rate; 1.21 fpm
- DeAndre Ayton – 23.2% usage rate; 1.26 fpm
- Cam Johnson – 23.2% usage rate; 1.01 fpm
These are three guys that would draw the most interest for me on the Suns with Booker out but you can make a case for guys like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder who should see some extended opportunities as well.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Isaiah Roby, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton, Cam Johnson
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Darius Bazley, Hamidou Diallo, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder
Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz
Vegas Total: 225.5
Vegas Spread: Utah -4.0
Starting with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic continues to see around 35 minutes per game and producing nicely in those minutes. He’s coming off his best game of the season last time out in which he went for 86 DraftKings points, he’s an elite option even in a tougher spot here. Kristaps Porzingis had just 28 DraftKings points last time out but shot 1-8 from the three-point range. He needs to knock down his shot if you really want to get a good outing from him. I suppose you can make a case for Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke but I just won’t get there on a big slate. Jalen Brunson has carved himself out a role in this starting lineup but is price right where he should be, I won’t be getting to any of him on a big slate. From the Jazz, the price tag on Donovan Mitchell just doesn’t sit well with me, he’s coming off a bit of a dud last time out, but this is a nice matchup if you want to get some GPP exposure. Rudy Gobert actually flashed a little bit of a ceiling yesterday going for 54.25 DraftKings points. The Mavs struggle with opposing big men so I like getting right back to him here at a nice price tag. Mike Conley has at least 36 DraftKings points in two of his last three and makes for a nice option while Jordan Clarkson is your GPP guy in a similar price range. Then we round things out with the three wings GPP guys in Joe Ingles, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Royce O’Neale. I don’t have a strong lean on any of them it will just come down to who is knocking down their shots.
5-star play: Luka Doncic
4-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley
Deeper Value: Joe Ingles
GPP Sleeper: Tim Hardaway, Jordan Clarkson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Royce O’Neale
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Golden State Warriors
Vegas Total: NA
Vegas Spread: GSW -8.5
We saw these two teams play a few days ago so we have something to work off of here. Starting with the Timberwolves, D’Angelo Russell is listed as questionable here so this is another case where you’ll have to keep an eye on that VIP Coaching forum for news and updates on him and all players impacted. Malik Beasley looked good last time out going for 41 DraftKings points in his place, I like going right back to him if Russell is forced to miss again. Both Naz Reid and Jarred Vanderbilt have looked good over their past couple of games. The Warriors can be attacked in their frontcourt so I don’t hate taking a shot on either one of them in this spot. From the Warriors, Steph Curry had 53.5 DraftKings points in this matchup on Monday, I like going right back to him here at a nice price tag. Andrew Wiggins gets a revenge game here but always feels priced about right, although he did score 43 DraftKings points last time out in this matchup, so we can throw him in the GPP player pool if you’re feeling frisky. Kelly Oubre bounced back really nicely last game, his name is floating around some trade rumors so I would think they try and showcase him a bit until the deadline, he’s a solid option here. James Wiseman came off the bench last game while Kevon Looney got the start. Wiseman ended up seeing 16 minutes, considering they blew out the Wolves last time out I would think they stick with the same lineup which would get me off Wiseman here. Looney didn’t really do anything noteworthy with the start either so just a situation to avoid for now. Lastly, we know what we’re getting from Draymond Green, he’s not a big usage guy but if he can rack up those ancillary stats, he’ll get there, so he’s in play for tournaments.
5-star play: Steph Curry
4-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Naz Reid, Jarred Vanderbilt, Andrew Wiggins
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Naz Reid, Jarred Vanderbilt, Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre, Draymond Green
NBA Lock of the Day: Jeremy Lamb (DK – $5.1k; FD – $5.2k)
I’ll start by saying this lock of the day is contingent on Domantas Sabonis sitting with his knee injury. He’s currently questionable, so keep an eye on that VIP Coaching forum for updates regarding him and who is impacted by him if he should end up missing this one. Lamb has returned from injury nicely and was able to get over 30 minutes last game. He now has at least 34 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. If Sabonis does sit here, we saw them go small which shot Lamb into bigger minutes than maybe he was in line for. It’s not like the Hornets have anyone on the other side of the ball that would stop the Pacers from going small in this case. It’s a small sample size due to Lamb just making his debut about a week ago, but he’s been around a 22% usage rate with over a fantasy point per minute on the season. I really like the price tag here, if Sabonis ultimately does play, check out our cheat sheets/coaches notes for updated core plays!
