Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 220

Vegas Spread: Lac -13

For the Thunder, this isn’t a game I’ll be targeting heavily given the spread and how OKC has looked. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been their best overall player, followed by Darius Bazley. However, if Horford misses this game again then Isaiah Roby will become a great value once again. Lugentz Dort is also in play for GPPs, as he showed what he can do in his ceiling games last time out.

For the Clippers, its your usual suspects. However, given the spread on this game there is some serious blowout risk. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are your top options for this Clippers team, but both are priced up on a big slate where we have better options. Ivica Zubac is in play for GPPs, as he’s been playing heavy minutes off the bench, but its hard to trust him as they tend to roll with the hot hand between him and Ibaka. Overall, I’ll likely fade most players out side of this game outside of Roby if Horford misses.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Darius Bazley

Deeper Value: Ivica Zubac, Lugentz Dort, Isaiah Roby

GPP Sleeper: Lugentz Dort

Chicago Bulls @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

From the Bulls, Lauri Markkanen has looked solid in his return and is playing heavy minutes, I do like this price tag for him in this matchup as the Hornets have been bleeding FPs to opposing 4s. With him back you can expect to see fewer minutes for guys like Otto Porter, Thad Young, and rookie Patrick Williams. Zach LaVine’s is a usage hog for this team, and he’ll play close to 40 minutes again here today and take all the shots that he wants in what should be a very fast paced game. Coby White is a guy I like for GPPs, he’s been somewhat volatile but in a decent matchup, I think he’s worth a look on a short slate. Lastly, Wendell Carter has a decent matchup and can rack up FPs in a hurry especially since Charlotte is not good against bigs.

For the Hornets, PJ Washington has been sneakily really good all year, and the Bulls still really don’t play much defense, he’s a solid option in GPPs. Gordon Hayward has been up and down, but he has the ability to win you a GPP if he gets hot. Devonte’ Graham and LaMelo Ball eat into each others usage, both are playable but do not pair them. Terry Rozier is also firmly in play for GPPs, as he can get hot but he can be very scoring dependent. I’ll target the Bulls more but there are some sneaky plays on this Charlotte team.

5-star play: Zach LaVine

4-star play: PJ Washington, Coby White, Devonte’ Graham, Gordon Hayward, LaMelo Ball

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier, LaMelo Ball, Wendell Carter

Houston Rockets @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Rockets, John Wall is out again here so Victor Oladipo will see all of the usage here especially with Christian Wood already ruled out with a sprained ankle. DeMarcus Cousins should be in for a big game as well with Wood out, so he should see 20+ minutes and he’s a FPPM monster. Eric Gordon is a great play here as well, as he’ll see even more usage with Wood out and be their 2nd scorer behind Oladipo. Jae’Sean Tate also played 37 minutes last game and will likely see just about as much tonight. The Rockets also traded for Kevin Porter Jr. so we’ll see if he gets any minutes, but it’ll be a fade for me until we see what his role will be.

For the Pistons, Jerami Grant has been on absolute fire so far this year and is coming off another great performance, hard to love his price tag on either site though. Blake Griffin is also in play here at his price but again the matchup isn’t the best as he isn’t used to playing fast like the Rockets do. Delon Wright is a solid play here at his price as well, considering that he is their starting PG with Hayes out. If you’re looking to get different, Derrick Rose is a solid GPP option and even some Wayne Ellington in GPPs can be nice for MME if he starts again as he can get hot from 3.

5-star play: Jerami Grant, Victor Oladipo

4-star play: DeMarcus Cousins, Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon

Deeper Value: Delon Wright, Jae’Sean Tate, Wayne Ellington

GPP Sleeper: Delon Wright, Wayne Ellington, Eric Gordon

Orlando Magic @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Magic, Aaron Gordon continues to see big minutes, and his price is still pretty low on FanDuel. Nikola Vucevic is your other main target here, as he is an elite big man in the NBA and can put up 50+ on any given night, but the matchup against Sabonis here leaves a lot to be desired. However, the low total from this game isn’t enticing as both of these teams don’t play at a very fast pace. Other options are Cole Anthony and Terrence Ross but outside of them I’ll be targeting other teams here especially on a 10 game slate.

For the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis is your main target here, especially if Turner is out again, as he played 41 minutes last game with him out. Malcolm Brogdon is also a great target, but his price has caught up to his production as well. I’ll have some interest in Justin Holiday if he starts again, but the real value here will be Doug McDermott as he played 34 minutes without Turner. Jeremy Lamb is also back, but they’ll slowly ramp up his minutes here. The big news for this team depends on Myles Turner, if he is in he’s a really solid GPP option, but if he’s out he opens up the value plays I mentioned above.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon

4-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, Terrence Ross

Deeper Value: Doug McDermott, Justin Holiday, Cole Anthony

GPP Sleeper: Doug McDermott, Justin Holiday

Brooklyn Nets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 227

Vegas Spread: Bkn -9.5

For the Nets, Kyrie Irving is back to throwoff the usage of this team.  Kevin Durant is going to be a solid option, but I can see Cleveland not showing up after their OT win the other night, but I will have some shares. James Harden will be another target obviously, after triple-doubling with his new team in his first game but damper expectations with Kyrie back in the fold. Sky high ceiling for both guys, but if Kyrie does play, its a knock down to both of them. For value, Joe Harris is pretty solid but I won’t be going out of my way to play him. With the Nets back at full strength I’ll mainly be targeting Harden and Durant.

For the Cavs, Collin Sexton is coming off the performance of a lifetime, and he’s been great all year long when he plays. He’s a bit scoring dependent, but if Garland is out again tonight he’s going to be a premier play especially after his performance against the Nets last game. Andre Drummond is coming off a down game after a 30-20 performance, but its hard to trust his minutes with Jarrett Allen going to soak up a lot of those minutes at C. He’s a GPP option only for me tonight. Cedi Osman has also been on fire, and at his price he is in play for both cash and for GPPs. I can see Cleveland coming out and not showing up after that big game, but they showed they can hang last game.

5-star play: Kevin Durant, James Harden

4-star play: Kyrie Irving, Collin Sexton, Andre Drummond

Deeper Value: Cedi Osman, Joe Harris

GPP Sleeper: Cedi Osman

Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Celtics, I looks like Kemba Walker is back here, but they’ll likely limit his minutes a bit here and ease him back into game shape, however, he takes Payton Pritchard and Jeff Teague out of play. Jayson Tatum is still out though, so Jaylen Brown will be a premier play once again, as is Marcus Smart as he played 34 minutes last game. Tristan Thompson is in play for value as well, but with Theis and Robert Williams healthy his upside is a bit limited.

For the Sixers, Joel Embiid just went off against this Celtics team for 42 actual points, and he has a sky high ceiling once again here tonight as the Celtics can’t matchup with him. Tobias Harris is also in play here, as he played 4o minutes last game and does it all for this Sixers team. Ben Simmons is also in play and is a triple double threat every game. For deeper value, Shake Milton has been playing almost 30 minutes off the bench and he’s been scoring at an elite level. This isn’t a great game to target though.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown

4-star play: Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, Marcus Smart

Deeper Value: Shake Milton, Tristan Thompson

GPP Sleeper: Shake Milton

Atlanta Hawks @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Hawks, Trae Young is your premier play here against the Wolves, as they don’t play defense. He has been heating up from the field though as he was bound to sooner or later.  John Collins and Clint Capela both have great matchups here as well, and neither break the bank, Capela is also coming off a ceiling game against this same T-Wolves team just a few nights ago. If Cam Reddish misses this game again, that’ll open up some opportunities for De’Andre Hunter and my favorite Kevin Huerter as he smashed last game. This is a game we can target especially in the early slate as the Hawks keep a tight rotation of 8-9 guys. If Hunter misses again, then it’ll be hard not to play Huerter. Keep an eye on our VIP Coaching forums for updates.

Starting with the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be out with Covid once again, so that will open up some minutes for Naz Reid here, he is a viable GPP option as he can be volatile. The biggest beneficiary of his absence will be D’Angelo Russell, and Malik Beasley will get more shots as well. Beasley has been filling it up so far over the past few weeks and he gets a great matchup again here. This game has a sneaky higher total and that makes this a game we can target on the early slate as well. I like Josh Okogie here as well if he continues to start, especially on FanDuel as he gets you a ton of peripheral stats with his defensive abilities. Juancho Hernangomez will also be viable if he starts here as he is pretty cheap and he’s shown that he can pop off from time to time, especially against a bad defense like the Hawks. He was out last game though so keep an eye on news there.

5-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Trae Young, Clint Capela

4-star play: Malik Beasley, John Collins, Kevin Heurter

Deeper Value: Josh Okogie, Juancho Hernangomez

GPP Sleeper: Naz Reid, Josh Okogie, Kevin Huerter

Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: Dal -3

Starting with the Mavericks, Kristaps Porzingis is back here and he’s been playing well, and he’s starting to see that full run already as they’ve ramped him up big time. Luka Doncic also has the highest ceiling of anyone on this slate, as he’s been crushing over the past 2 weeks and I can see him doing it again tonight, he has a ceiling of 70+ FPs which is rare. If Dorian Finney-Smith is out that makes Wes Iwundu playable again as long as he starts for value. Willie Cauley-Stein is also in play, but he’ll become a great play if KP misses this game for any reason. Trey Burke would also be a solid value play and I’ll even have some shares of Tim Hardaway Jr. in GPPs.

For the Spurs, Demar Derozan is going to be your premier play here, as LaMarcus Aldridge has really been struggling this year and he’s been taking over. Keldon Johnson is also a great play here, as he’s really come on this year and looks to be a bright spot for them to build around. Dejounte Murray is also in play here, but I don’t love the matchup against Luka and his size. For deeper value, Lonnie Walker drew the start last time out, and Patty Mills can get hot off the bench and is a great GPP play here tonight. The Spurs are not really a team I want to target here though, as I’ll be heavier on Mavs.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, Demar Derozan

4-star play: Keldon Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Dejounte Murray

Deeper Value: Lonnie Walker, Patty Mills

GPP Sleeper: Patty Mills, Trey Burke, Wes Iwundu

Denver Nuggets @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Phx -1.0

For the Nuggets, your main target here is going to be Nikola Jokic, as he’s been a triple double machine so far this year and that shouldn’t change in what should be a pace up game for the Nuggets. Jamal Murray has also been solid but he’s a bit scoring dependent so he’ll be GPP only for me. Will Barton will also continue to be a solid mid-range option as long as Michael Porter Jr. is still out. Paul Millsap is also a GPP play as he can have smash games from time to time, but I don’t see this being one of them.

For the Suns, DeAndre Ayton has really been stepping it up, as he’s coming off B2B monster games, the matchup isn’t the best but he’ll need to step it up here. Devin Booker has a sky high ceiling, but with Chris Paul in town he’s taken a bit of a back seat with the ball handling. Other options for GPPs on the Suns are Mikal Bridges, and even some Dario Saric if he starts. Cameron Johnson has also been starting and he presents a nice value play as well if he continues to do so, but if Jae Crowder starts, he becomes a solid value play.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, DeAndre Ayton

4-star play: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Mikal Bridges, Will Barton

Deeper Value: Cameron Johnson, Jae Crowder, Paul Millsap

GPP Sleeper: Cameron Johnson

New York Knicks @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Sac -4

For the Knicks,  Julius Randle is still crushing, but the price is still very playable given the production, he put on another show last night and he’s been smashing all year long and this is a favorable matchup for him again tonight. The price on RJ Barrett is a solid play, but he’s coming off a monster game and his shooting has been inconsistent to say the least, but he looks like he’s starting to get it together as he’s had a few really solid games in a row. Elfrid Payton has triple-double every time he steps on the court but and he’ll see more minutes if Rivers misses again tonight. Mitchell Robinson has been solid but the matchup and he smashed last night as well. Alec Burks also has made his return here, and if he misses this game for any reason it’ll open up minutes for Immanuel Quickley.

For the Kings, De’Aaron Fox is a premier play here tonight, as he is priced way too low on FanDuel especially against a Knicks team that has been getting crushed by opposing PGs. Marvin Bagley III has been getting it together as well as he’s looking to be traded, and the Knicks are vulnerable in the frontcourt. For GPPs, outside of those main two guys, I’ll have a few shares of Richaun Holmes, Buddy Hield, and Harrison Barnes given the matchup against this Knicks team. This is a game we can target here as well especially with it being the hammer game.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Julius Randle

4-star play: RJ Barrett, Richaun Holmes, Mitchell Robinson, Elfrid Payton

Deeper Value: Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, Alec Burks

GPP Sleeper: Alec Burks

NBA Lock of the Day:

De’Aaron Fox (DK: $8,800 FD: $7,800)

De’Aaron Fox has had some consistency issues, but at his price on FanDuel he’s in an elite spot for me here. Elfrid Payton is one of the worst defensive PGs in the game, so Fox should be able to get whatever he wants here and the Knicks like to turn the ball over as well, and Swipa the Fox can have a field day with steals here which really boosts his ceiling. He’ll be a core play for me on FanDuel today especially given that he is playing in the hammer game tonight as well.
