Brooklyn Nets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

We’ll kick this 10 game slate off with the Nets who will finally get to see what their lineup will look like with all three stars active. Kyrie Irving is returning for a revenge game against the Cavaliers and priced at $9k on DraftKings. I want to wait and see on him and how he fits in this offense, his price should come down with Harden and Durant taking usage. It makes it an easier game to kind of just monitor due to the potential blowout as well. Kevin Durant has at least 50 DraftKings points in each game with James Harden on the team. I don’t hate going back to him here in a good matchup. Harden is the most expensive player on this team at $10.9k, he has at least 61 DraftKings points in each of his games on the Nets, you can go right back to him as well. Outside of the big three it’s really just DeAndre Jordan and Jeff Green I have interest in, Jordan saw a huge 38 minutes last game against the Bucks and with the Cavs having such a big frontcourt I would think he needs to be out there a good amount. Jeff Green played 37 minutes on his way to 24.5 DraftKings points and is in play as a value option. From the Cavaliers, Jarrett Allen should be in play to make his Cavaliers debut here. It’s a spot that I’m just going to fade, I could see the Cavaliers doing something weird and giving him and Andre Drummond something like 24 minutes each. Collin Sexton and Darius Garland are both questionable here, if they’re not on a minutes limit I would get to them here. The Nets don’t play a whole lot of defense and want to move up and down the court. Lastly, Cedi Osman is a little too expensive for me if Garland and Sexton are going to be back and Larry Nance is a fine GPP dart due to the game environment.
5-star play: Kevin Durant, James Harden
4-star play: Kyrie Irving, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, DeAndre Jordan
Deeper Value: Jeff Green
GPP Sleeper: Kyrie Irving, Jarrett Allen, Andre Drummond, Larry Nance
Dallas Mavericks @ Indiana Pacers
Vegas Total: 219.0
Vegas Spread: Ind -1.0
Starting with the Mavericks, the big news here is that Kristaps Porzingis has seen at least 32 minutes in back-to-back games and seems to be off his minutes limit since returning from injury. I’m at a point where I’m willing to play him now, he’s a guy that shoots a ton and isn’t too terribly priced here, I like Porzingis especially now with Myles Turner possibly out for the Pacers which hurts their interior defense. Luka Doncic had a down game last time out and Porzigins being back is going to hurt his usage a bit. That said he’s still an elite option here. Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell are both out again here meaning we can go back to Willie Cauley-Stein who only saw 19 minutes last game but they got blown out pretty good so I’m willing to disregard that one. Josh Richardson and Dorian Finney-Smith will be out here due to Covid protocols so that will open up some opportunity on the wing for guys like James Johnson who has at least 27 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. Tim Hardaway and Trey Burke will also see a bit of a boost and are viable at their price tags. From the Pacers, Myles Turner is questionable here, that’s news you’ll want to watch as we get closer to lock. If he ends up being out it would open up some minutes and value in this frontcourt and would add even more potential production to the plate of Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon. Justin Holiday and Doug McDermott make sense here for tournaments as well if you happen to fall on them.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis
4-star play: Willie Cauley-Stein, James Johnson, Tim Hardaway
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Tim Hardaway, Trey Burke, Justin Holiday, Dough McDermott
Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers
Vegas Total: NA
Vegas Spread: Phi -5.0
Starting with the Celtics, Jayson Tatum will continue to be out here so we can go right back to Jaylen Brown. He hasn’t been great over his last two games but has a 31.7 % usage rate and 1.3 fantasy points per minute with Tatum off the court this season. Kemba Walker made his debut last time out and played 20 minutes. I would expect he gets up around 25 minutes here but I want more minutes from him before I play him on a 10 game slate at this price tag. Marcus Smart just feels too expensive here, he’s not a guy I see myself getting to. Lastly, Daniel Theis and Tristan Thompson are GPP dart throws at the center position, if I’m picking one it’s probably Thompson, as they’ll need his size to help combat Joel Embiid in the post. Speaking of Joel Embiid, he will return here for the Sixers and is a guy I like getting to at this price tag. The Celtics don’t play the best defense in the frontcourt so he has a nice opportunity here. Ben Simmons has back-to-back games with at least 44 DraftKings points, but those were with Embiid on the bench. I don’t love Simmons here, he’s priced at what he’s shown for a ceiling in GPPs this season. Tobias Harris is a solid option for similar reasons as Joel Embiid, we know the minutes are there and if he can grab some peripheral stats he should be able to produce. I’m completely off Shake Milton here with Seth Curry expected to return, hopefully, the public is high on him after putting up big numbers over his last three. Lastly, you can get off those ancillary guys like Dwight Howard and Tyrese Maxey now that this team is pretty much healthy.
5-star play: Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid
4-star play: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker, Seth Curry, Ben Simmons
Detroit Pistons @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 221.5

Starting with the Pistons, this is a really nice spot for Jerami Grant who continues to play huge minutes and put up consistent numbers at under $8k on DraftKings. Blake Griffin is never really a guy I get to because of what he did last game where he put up 12 DraftKings points in 36 minutes. He has a nice ceiling but you’re really playing with fire when you play him. Derrick Rose has at least 33 DraftKings points in back to back games and is priced really nicely here. We know he’s going to own the usage in the second unit and in a nice spot I like getting to him here. Mason Plumlee played big minutes last game and scored 32 DraftKings points. They’ll need his size again here with Capela on the other end. Lastly, Delon Wright is kind of meh, it’s a nice matchup but his minutes are all over the place. From the Hawks, DraftKings made a huge mistake on Kevin Huerter’s price tag at $9.5k… we can simply take him out of the player pool, it’s just a mistake on their end that makes him unplayable. Trae Young has at least 50 DraftKings points in two straight games and is hopefully hitting his stride after a tough start to the year. I like him here in a great matchup. Clint Capela has at least 54 DraftKings points in two straight games, this is another great matchup for him, and is really intriguing that he’s getting minutes in the upper 30’s. I don’t mind the price tag on John Collins here but we just haven’t seen that 50 point ceiling this season like we saw from him last year. Lastly, De’Andre Hunter is a solid GPP play along with Cam Reddish if he plays.
5-star play: Jerami Grant, Trae Young, Clint Capela
4-star play: Mason Plumlee, Derrick Rose, John Collins, De’Andre Hunter
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Blake Griffin, Delon Wright, Derrick Rose, John Collins, Cam Reddish
Miami Heat @ Toronto Raptors

Starting with the Heat, Jimmy Butler is out here while Tyler Herro is questionable. We will need Herro news here before we can dig too deep. That said, with Butler off the court here’s how the rest of the team shapes out:
- Bam Adebayo – 27.8% usage rate; 1.45 fpm
- Tyler Herro – 25.8% usage rate; 1.08 fpm
- Goran Dragic – 29.8% usage rate; 1.11 fpm
These three would be the big guys that I’m interested in if Butler is out, jump in our VIP Coaching forum for updates on who is in play if Tyler Herro is ruled out. Duncan Robinson and Kelly Olynyk are both in play for GPPs and would see a bit of a boost if Herro is out, but again, something we’d need to look at if he is indeed out. From the Raptors, Pascal Siakam is on another one of his cold streaks going for less than 30 DraftKings points in two straight games. Chris Boucher has been the guy to own in this frontcourt. He has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is a really nice price tag even in a tough matchup. Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet feel like they switch off who is going to be good for a certain week, they’re priced similarly and are fine options here. Lastly, a case can be made for OG Anunoby here in tournaments if you land on him at all.
5-star play: Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic, Chris Boucher
4-star play: Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Kyle Lowry, Kelly Olynyk
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Duncan Robinson, Fred VanVleet, Kye Lowry, OG Anunoby

Orlando Magic @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Starting with the Magic, I love getting to Nikola Vucevic. The Wolves were terrible against big men even with Towns in there, now with Towns out, he should do whatever he wants. Aaron Gordon is in a similar spot, he’s coming off a 57 point DraftKings outing and at this price tag is in play for GPPs at the very least. Terrence Ross has bounced back a bit in his past two and is going to be a guy that is always in play for GPPs, but not someone I’m prioritizing at this price point. Cole Anthony just hasn’t shown me enough outside of that 40 pointing a few games ago that has me all that interested especially on a big slate. Somebody on this Magic team may make my Core 4 for tonight’s slate, go check out that full article below for a look at the four guys I’m starting my lineups with!
-> CORE 4 ARTICLE <-
From the Wolves, Jarred Vanderbilt saw the start for Karl-Anthony Towns last game and saw 29 minutes on his way to 29 DraftKings points. He’s firmly in play again if he draws the start at this price tag. D’Angelo Russell has been great over his past three games going for at least 42 DraftKings points in all of them. He’s a fine GPP option in an average matchup. Malik Beasley has been a fine option but I don’t love the price tag here on a big slate. Lastly, we should see more minutes from Anthony Edwards with Ricky Rubio out for the Wolves. he saw 30 minutes last game and is in play for tournaments.
5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, D’Angelo Russell
4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Terrence Ross, Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Cole Anthony, Terrence Ross, Anthony Edwards
Phoenix Suns @ Houston Rockets

Starting with the Suns, another day, another day I hate the price tag on Devin Booker. This offense isn’t built for him to chuck 30 times per game anymore with Chris Paul in there. It’s better for the Suns but not as great for fantasy production. He’s a GPP only guy for me seeing as how it is a nice matchup with a bad Rockets defense. Chris Paul gets a revenge game here and has been pretty consistently in that 30-40 fantasy point range lately, he’s a fine secondary option. DeAndre Ayton is a guy I love at this price tag, Christian Wood doesn’t do much on defense and we know the ceiling that Ayton can provide. Lastly, Mikal Bridges is a nice option as well, but never really a guy that I seem to land on all that much. From the Rockets, Victor Oladipo scored 54.3 DraftKings points in 32 minutes in his Rockets debut. With John Wall out again here he’s going to be a guy I go right back to. Christian Wood’s price has come down here and is still seeing huge minutes while grabbing a high usage rate. I like him again in this spot. DeMarcus Cousins can’t seem to get any decent kind of run with this team, I don’t like the price tag on him until we see him consistently around that 25-minute range, I just hate playing guys who will be lucky to see 20 minutes. Eric Gordon was pretty chalky last game and looked good in 34 minutes. You can go right back to him here with Wall out again.
5-star play: Christian Wood, Victor Oladipo
4-star play: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton, Eric Gordon, Mikal Bridges
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges
San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors

Starting with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games, but I just don’t love the price tag on him here. Dejounte Murray will continue to see 30+ minutes here and I don’t hate the price tag, we’ve seen him hit on some 50 burgers this season, so we know he has the upside. Keldon Johnson wasn’t so hot last game but this is a nice bounce-back spot for him, the price isn’t anything special but he’s in play for tournaments. LaMarcus Aldridge just isn’t a guy I’m going to get to on a 10 game slate at this price tag, he’s been held under 15 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. From the Warriors, so if we tag the sample size from this season, the Spurs haven’t been as bad against point guards as they were last season. That being said, I still love me some Steph Curry here. Any time he’s under $10k I’m going to be interested, especially when he’s not in the greatest form which should keep people off him. He’s going to play around 35 minutes here and we know he has massive upside, so I like getting him in all formats. Andrew Wiggins is questionable here, so keep an eye on that VIP Coaching forum for updates on who benefits if he’s out. Draymond Green has at least 30 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. He’s not a guy who’s going to score a ton of points but he racks up peripherals like they’re going out of style, he’s in play at this price tag. Lastly, Kelly Oubre scored 37 DraftKings points last game, I think you could do worse in tournaments in this price range.
5-star play: Steph Curry
4-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Keldon Johnson, Kelly Oubre, Draymond Green, James Wiseman
Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Clippers
Vegas Total: 232
Vegas Spread: Lac -10
Starting with the Kings, we saw this matchup a few games ago so we have something to go off here from each team. That said, De’Aaron Fox played just 23 minutes in that game due to blowout, but coming off a massive 77 DraftKings outing last time out where he shot 27 times from the field. His price is way too high for me to want to get to him against a tough defense on a big slate. Buddy Hield will always be in play for GPPs at the very least due to his ability to put up points in a hurry especially this season now that he’s getting consistent minutes. It’s a really tough matchup for opposing wings though with Kawhi and Paul George on the other end playing defense. Richaun Holmes has been pretty good as of late and I don’t hate the price tag on him. The Clippers have been much better this season in the frontcourt with the addition of Serge Ibaka. Harrison Barnes and Tyrese Haliburton are fine GPP options as well but I don’t see myself getting here much on a 10 game slate. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are priced pretty similarly here and really have had similar seasons from a DFS perspective. Both are in play here in a really nice matchup. Serge Ibaka has been really volatile as of late and at this price tag, he’s not a guy I love outside of tournaments. Patrick Beverley has been good as of late but I just can’t stomach paying $5k for him. Lastly, Marcus Morris is a guy I like for tournaments. He saw his minutes get up to 27 last game and could see over 30 here at a nice price tag.
5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George
4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Serge Ibaka, De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, Marus Morris
Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total: 222
Vegas Spread: Por -1.5
Starting with the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas is out here so we should see guys like Brandon Clarke and Xavier Tillman take over the center minutes. This is a nice matchup against a team that just lost Nurkic for a few weeks on the interior. I like both of these guys quite a bit especially Tillman at that price tag on DraftKings. Tillman has about one fantasy point per minute with Valanciunas off the court this season. I really like the price tag on Ja Morant who saw 34 minutes last game. Trailblazers give up a ton of points per game to opposing point guards, I like Morant a good deal here. Lastly, Dillon Brooks had a dud last time out but I’m alright getting back to him in tournaments in a good matchup. The Blazers lost Jusuf Nurkic and CJ McCollum within a week’s time which will open up minutes and usage for some other guys. Enes Kanter should continue to start for the Blazers but has seen his price come way up. He’s still a solid option here especially with Valanciunas being out. Rodney Hood started last game for McCollum and saw 25 minutes on his way to 28 DraftKings points, he’s an elite option at this sub $4k price tag on DraftKings. Damian Lillard has a 31.6% usage rate and 1.35 fantasy points per minute with McCollum and Nurkic off the court this season and at this price tag is in play in all formats. Lastly, guys like Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony, and Gary Trent Jr. are solid GPP options with the opened up usage on this team.
5-star play: Ja Morant, Xavier Tillman, Damian Lillard
4-star play: Brandon Clarke, Dillon Brooks, Enes Kanter, Rodney Hood
Deeper Value: Xavier Tillman, Rodney Hood
GPP Sleeper: Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony, Gary Trent Jr.
NBA Lock of the Day: Xavier Tillman (DK – $3.5k; $4.6k)
We just touched on this game but I’ll expand a bit more on Tillman in particular! Jonas Valanciunas is going to miss this game again for the Grizzlies. With Valanciunas out last game, Tillman started and saw 29 minutes against the Suns after seeing 28 minutes against the Sixers the game before. He put up at least 23 DraftKings points in each of those games. He gets a great matchup against the Blazers who just lost Jusuf Nurkic and will turn the keys to Enes Kanter who is far less of the defender. Another thing to love with Tillman is he’s PF and C eligible on DraftKings so you have some flexibility on roster construction with him. When the Research Station comes out I expect him to be one of the best point per dollar projections on the slate!
