Miami Heat @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: 207

Vegas Spread: Phi -4.0

This is a game we’re going to have to keep an eye on, right now the Heat have three guys listed as questionable and they need two of them to be active in order to have the mandatory eight available guys or this will be postponed, so we’re waiting on news here. From the Heat, Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, and Goran Dragic are all out due to contact tracing. This will be a similar situation to what the Sixers had last night and the past few nights. Whoever is active here is going to be in play, the best raw play would be Tyler Herro as he didn’t show up on the injury report and has shown he can handle the extra usage with guys out. More to come on this one. From the Sixers, it sounds like Ben Simmons will return here while Tobias Harris, Shake Milton, and Seth Curry are more on the doubtful side of questionable. Simmons being back hurts Tyrese Maxey a bit but due to how shorthanded they’ll be Maxey should still see plenty of work. I think you can go right back to the well on Joel Embiid as well, with Bam out for the Heat he’ll be able to do whatever he pleases in the paint. I talked about Simmons as well, but at under $9k he’s at least interesting in this one with Butler not be available to lock him down defensively. Lastly, woof Danny Green woof… 0-9 from the field and 0-7 from three-point range last night, this is why I hate playing this dude. I won’t be playing him here.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, TBD from the Heat

4-star play: Tyrese Maxey, TBD from the Heat

Deeper Value: Dakota Mathias, TBD from the Heat

GPP Sleeper: TBD

Denver Nuggets @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 231.5

Vegas Spread: PK

Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic seems like an obvious option here. The Nets will have all sorts of issues holding him down in the paint. He’s priced up but it’s hard to ignore Jokic in this one even though he’s been held under 50 fantasy points in each of his past two games. Jamal Murray’s production has been hard to look at over the past two games as well, this is a really nice bounce-back spot for him against a Nets team that seems uninterested in playing any sort of defense. Will Barton will continue to be a guy I have an interest in as long as Michael Porter is out. Lastly, Monte Morris and Paul Millsap both make sense for GPPs here. From the Nets, it sounds like Kyrie Irving will be out again while Kevin Durant should be active. I’ll keep firing up Durant as long as Kyrie is inactive. He has a 36.7% usage rate and 1.61 fantasy points per minute in a small sample size. Caris LeVert will be in play as long as he is out as well, he’s looking down the barrel at a 33.9% usage rate and 1.3 fantasy points per minute and should start with Kyrie out. Jarrett Allen continues to play well, but I’m always hesitant to play big men against Jokic due to his ability to play defense and draw fouls. Lastly, Joe Harris makes sense for GPP as well in hopes he gets hot from three.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, Caris LeVert

4-star play: Jamal Murray, Will Barton, Joe Harris

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Will Barton, Monte Morris, Paul Millsap, Joe Harris, Jarrett Allen

Utah Jazz @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 206.5

Vegas Spread: Utah -9.5

Starting with the Jazz, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell come into this one looking like pretty solid options. They’re both in play against a defense that is still figuring itself out. They both seem a bit priced up here however, they’re probably taking the matchup into account but I still don’t love the price tag on them. They’re secondary plays at the very least, however. Mike Conley has been able to bounce back a bit after having a few down games, I don’t hate going back to him here. Bojan Bogdanovic is really hit or miss right now, he needs to be knocking down shots in order to get you there which puts him in the GPP only category for me. Lastly, the trio of Jordan Clarkson, Royce O’Neale, and Joe Ingles are all deep GPP guys for me, nobody that I’ll really get to much. From the Cavaliers, Collin Sexton was a late scratch last night that was pretty frustrating. He comes into this one as questionable as well, but due to the matchup, it may just be best to stay away from in cash at the very least. This is a tough matchup for Andre Drummond, as Gobert is one of the best interior defenders in the league, he’s GPP only for me as well. We kind of know what we’re getting from Larry Nance on a nightly basis now and he’s priced right where he should be. He hasn’t shown that 50 point ceiling yet this year and in a tough matchup I doubt we see it here. Cedi Osman is a guy you can get to in GPPs as well, he’s had some big games with all these guys being out recently. Lastly, Damyean Dotson continues to play huge minutes with all these guys out and is doing well with them, I like the price point on him, he may be my favorite play on this team.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Andre Drummond, Collin Sexton, Larry Nance, Damyean Dotson

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Larry Nance, Cedi Osman, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, Royce O’Neale

Los Angeles Lakers @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: 223.5

Vegas Spread: Lal -5.5

We just saw this game a few days ago so we have something to work off here. Starting the Lakers, I would expect LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both questionable again here, as usual. For the sake of this article, I’ll operate under the assumption that they’re both in. This is a great matchup for both guys. The Rockets play next to zero defense, and both should be able to do what they want here. LeBron James scored 40 DraftKings points in this matchup last time out while Davis scored 38.5, both down games in their standards but you can go right back to them here. Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell make some sense in GPPs as well due to the matchup. From the Rockets, James Harden has scored under 50 DraftKings points in four straight games. However, John Wall and Eric Gordon are questionable here, if Wall, in particular, sits I would have much more interest in Harden as Wall won’t be out there to soak up that usage. Christian Wood held his own in this one last time out but just wasn’t able to get the rebounds which kept his fantasy production down. It’s a tough matchup but he’s shown he can handle it, I like him here. John Wall has been up and down over the past handful of games and I think that’s what we’re going to expect from him this season so he’s more of a GPP guy for me. Lastly, Eric Gordon and DeMarcus Cousins are fine options for GPPs as well. I’m less on Cousins with that said, his minutes just aren’t there right now.

5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis, James Harden

4-star play: Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, Christian Wood, Eric Gordon

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, Eric Gordon, DeMarcus Cousins

San Antonio Spurs @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 219

Vegas Spread: Sas -2.0

Starting with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan missed the last game and will be out again here. Below is how the rest of the team shakes out with him off the court.

  • Dejounte Murray – 28.5% usage rate; 1.17 fpm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge – 29.9% usage rate; 1.02 fpm
  • Keldon Johnson – 13.2% usage rate; 0.87 fpm
  • Lonnie Walker – 30.1% usage rate; 1.07 fpm

I think you can get to all these guys pretty comfortably here in a good matchup against a bad Thunder team. Lonnie Walker and LaMarcus Aldridge had the big games last time out but these guys are all in play for me on this slate. Lastly, we did see Trey Lyles play 35 minutes last game, if we’re going to see that again, he’s a guy that makes a lot of sense for GPPs. From the Thunder, boy do I love me some Shai Gilgeous-Alexander here. If you’ve been reading the Full Court Press for a while now you’ll know I love targeting point guards against the Spurs. Gilgeous-Alexander has three straight games with at least 50 DraftKings points now which I think will get more of the public on him than normal, but I’m alright with riding it out here. Darius Bazley has seen his production come down over the past two games, but I like going back to him here at a nice price tag. Outside of these two guys, it’s just George Hill and Al Horford that I’ll have a sprinkle of but that’s about it from the Thunder.

5-star play: Dejounte Murray, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: LaMarcus Aldridge, Keldon Johnson, Lonnie Walker, Darius Bazley

Deeper Value: Trey Lyles

GPP Sleeper: Patty Mills, George Hill, Al Horford

Indiana Pacers @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 227.5

Vegas Spread: GS -2.5

Starting with the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis continues to play well, I don’t see a reason not to play him here. People may worry about Draymond Green on defense, but the Warriors defensive until as a whole is pretty bad. Myles Turner is in a similar spot, but we kind of know what we’re getting with him, if he gets hot from three he’ll have a solid night. I wish I had more to say on him nightly but right now he’s just not the sexiest play. Malcolm Brogdon is on a heater right now and has at least 43 DraftKings points in five straight and in a great matchup, I don’t mind paying the elevated price tag. Victor Oladipo looks actually pretty good this season and coming off a great game last night, it sounds like there are some question marks surrounding his availability to play tonight on the second leg of a back-to-back but until we hear otherwise I’ll assume he’s playing. TJ Warren will be out for a while, opening up usage for these other starters, here’s how they play out:

  • Domantas Sabonis – 24.7% usage rate; 1.31 fpm
  • Malcolm Brogdon – 21.5% usage rate; 1.15 fpm
  • Victor Oladipo – 27.0% usage rate; 1.10 fpm

All these guys are great options here, I don’t think there’s a bench guy that will come and start for him that would jump off the page to me. It will be a combination of Justin Holiday and Aaron Holiday. I much prefer Justin Holiday, Aaron is kind of a turd. From the Warriors, I don’t love the matchup but any time Steph Curry is under $10k I’m going to have an interest, the guy can pickup points in a hurry. Andrew Wiggins is price right about where he should be, he’s a fine GPP option. Draymond Green saw a pretty big price increase since last time out which makes sense given his ownership and production last game. He’s just not a guy I get to much, not a big usage guy, needs to rely on those peripherals. Lastly, Kelly Oubre and James Wiseman are fine GPP plays to round out the slate.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Steph Curry

4-star play: Myles Turner, Victor Oladipo, Draymond Green

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Oubre, James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green

NBA Lock of the Day: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (DK – $8.0k; FD – $8.5k)

So, I’m going to assume we’re going to get a decent amount of value that opens up on this slate with all the news we’re waiting on, but Shai Gilgeos-Alexander is a guy I’m going to get to regardless of what opens up. I love targeting point guards against the Spurs and he has at least 50 DraftKings points in three straight games. The Research Station below has him projected for 42.46 fantasy points which would put him at 5.31x his DraftKings price tag.
