Clipping Coupons for NFL Week 17
Another week is in the books and now we start this puzzle all over again for week 17. This is the last week of the NFL regular season but there is a ton of money still to be won in Daily Fantasy, We have solid data to work with after 16 weeks in the books, but week 17 is tricky with the lack of motivation for most teams. Somebody can still win a million dollars on DraftKings though, and there are tons of other contests that can fit your personal DFS goals. However, if a player is a good play on one site, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are a good play on the other site. Salaries are everything in DFS and in this article I am going to point out the best deals on each week on each site and help you clip some coupons if you are looking to bargain shop around the DFS industry. Here are some of the best deals this week at each offensive position:
Quarterbacks

Kyler Murray on FanDuel $7,000. The Cardinals have to win and have the Bears lose for them to make the playoffs, so they won’t be resting anybody here. Murray is the cheapest he has been on FanDuel since week 1 of this season and he is the 7th highest priced QB on the slate compared to DraftKings where he is the 4th highest. He will most likely be a fade for me on DraftKings because this game total is only 40.5, but I don’t mind clipping this coupon on FanDuel in GPPs. Murray has the legs to rush for multiple TDs and his rushing game is the reason he has been in play all season long. He is averaging more FanDuel points than Patrick Mahomes this year and he has 12 fewer passing TDs and 856 fewer passing yards. That is how good Murray’s rushing has been this year and we don’t have to stack him with anybody in any format because he can run the TDs and we don’t need any correlation.
Ryan Tannehill on DraftKings $7,000. The Titans have the highest team total (32) on the slate this week and if they win, they are in the playoffs. Those are the teams we want to target in week 17. Derrick Henry will likely be the guy most people go to on this team and that makes me like going to the passing game where they will all be lower owned than they should be. This team has been scoring so much that Tannehill and Henry can both get there without correlating, but if Henry has a bad game or the Titans get behind, it should lead to Tannehill passing more and him having the big game instead. FanDuel has Tannehill priced as the 6th highest QB on the slate, which is $400 more than Murray. DraftKings has Tannehill priced down as #9 and that is $500 less than Murray. I do like him on both sites for GPPs but that discount on DraftKings has me interested in the fade Henry approach for my SE GPPs where I expect Watson stacks with a Henry run-back to be the popular build. Tannehill has 4 games with over 30 DK points this season and he has AJ Brown and Corey Davis as easy stack options who are both having great years. This is a coupon I will be looking to clip.
Running Backs
Alexander Mattison on FanDuel $5,000. Dalvin Cook is out this week which should lead to a workhorse role for Mattison if he is healthy. He is going against a Lions defense that looks like they called it quits a couple of weeks ago. Mattison is the 15th highest priced active RB this week on DraftKings, which is solid if he is getting a bell-cow role. On FanDuel, he has 50 other RBs priced the same or higher than him this week and that is just too cheap with no Cook. Mattison looks like the top overall play on the FanDuel slate if he plays and we have him projected as the clear top Fpts/$ RB on FanDuel over on our Domination Station Optimizer.

Malcolm Brown on DraftKings $4,300. Darrell Henderson Jr. is out, and Cam Akers hasn’t practiced all week, looking like he may be out as well. If so, Malcolm Brown becomes the lead RB without having to worry about either of those guys taking snaps or goal-line carries away from him. He will be a solid play on both sites in cash and GPPs, but we are getting a discount on him over on DraftKings. Brown is only $300 more than the minimum price on DraftKings this week and when he had the workhorse roll in week 1, he finished with 26 DK points. On FanDuel, Brown is very in play as well, but he is $1,100 more than min-price and he is $600 more than Mattison. We have him projected as the clear top Fpts/$ at RB and he is the highest at Flex as well at this price. This is where I would be starting my cash lineup and just locking him into the Domination Station Optimizer to see the optimal lineup and he is an easy coupon to click if he is the only RB of the 3 that will see the field. The Rams are in a must-win spot this week to make the playoffs, so I don’t see any practice squad RB stealing his reps. They are also without Jared Goff and Cooper Kupp this week so they might have to lean on Brown very heavily this weekend.

Wide Receivers
Allen Robinson on FanDuel $7,700. The Bears need a win to make the playoffs. If they win, they are in. They can also make the playoffs with a Cardinals loss, but either way, they are going all out. Robinson is questionable with a hamstring injury so we will have to keep an eye on his status, but we are getting a discount on him over on FanDuel if he plays. DraftKings has Robinson priced as the 5th highest WR on the slate but on FanDuel he is priced as the 10th highest. Robinson has had 13 or more targets in five different games this season so if he is healthy, I would expect him to get fed a ton and they are 5.5-point underdogs to the Packers. The injury probably scares me away enough on DraftKings, but I don’t mind clipping this coupon on FanDuel this week if he is active.
AJ Brown on DraftKings $7,200. Tannehill is our DraftKings QB coupon this week and we are getting a coupon on his favorite WR as well to make for a great GPP stack. AJ Brown is a beast and FanDuel priced him as such with him being the 4th highest priced WR on the slate. DraftKings has Brown down as the 10th highest WR on this slate with them making Tannehill cheaper as well it makes me want to attack the passing game on DraftKings and then get my hedge to Derrick Henry over on FanDuel. The Titans have the highest team total on the slate and Brown has 10 TDs on the season and he is 76 yards away from hitting the 1,000-yard mark. I would expect him to get more than 76 yards here and with them expected to see 4 TDs, I think he gets in the endzone at least once and I love clipping the coupon on this stack this week in a must-win game.
Tight Ends
Jared Cook on FanDuel $5,700. DraftKings has Cook priced as the 5th highest TE this week but FanDuel has him priced down at #9. I don’t love TE this week, but the Saints are live for the #1 spot, so I do like the motivation for them. The motivation plus the discount puts Cook in play for me this week and he is coming off an 82-yard week, which is his highest of the season. They won’t have Michael Thomas and I don’t expect Alvin Kamara to get 6 TDs again. Maybe Cook sees the endzone this week and he should be very low owned which I like as well.
Hayden Hurst on DraftKings $3,700. There really aren’t any good coupons at TE this week, especially on DraftKings. Hurst is one that I saw was 3-4 spots lower on DK than he is on FD, and he is coming off back-to-back weeks with a TD. He scored a TD against this Bucs D two weeks ago and I think he is a solid contrarian run-back piece for TB lineups. I don’t have much interest in this Falcons offense other than Ridley, but TB is stack worthy and Ridley will be the popular run-back option. I don’t hate using Hurst instead at low ownership and clipping this coupon just to differential my lineup.
