Welcome back to the first Full Court Press Article of the season (or preseason, I should say). We’ve got a three-game slate on tap and the goal of these preseason breakdowns is going to simply be running through what we kind of already know going into the games. Preseason is always a different animal but with the right information and tools, there’s quite an edge, as you can see from the success members have already had this preseason below. The Domination Station along with our VIP chat is going to be your best friends when it comes to essential news needed for these preseason slates.

That being said, we can start digging into the first game a bit! If we start with Boston, Kemba Walker, Romeo Langford, and Tristan Thompson are all out while Daniel Theis is currently questionable. This is the first preseason game for the Celtics so we don’t really have a ton of information on how many minutes guys will see, but my assumption would be with only two preseason games between now and opening night the Celtics would like to get some run for their starters. We should hear some sort of news on them, but if not keep an eye on what we have for a minute projection on these guys in the Domination Station, I would think the starters see around 20-25 minutes. This will be the first preseason game for the Sixers as well and they come in relatively healthy. The prices on the starters look pretty good and I would think they get a similar role as the Celtics guys and maybe even more since they weren’t playing deep into the playoffs. One thing we do know is that Ryan Broekhoff has been waived, so if you planned on playing him… well sorry.
5-star play: Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum
4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Tobias Harris
Deeper Value: TBD
GPP Sleeper: Seth Curry

This will be the Spurs second preseason game so we have a little to work with regarding potential minutes. The starting five all saw at least 20 minutes with Rudy Gay being the high man at 26 minutes. Devin Vassell is an interesting name to keep an eye on. They clearly want to see what he can contribute to the team, the rookie played 26 minutes off the bench in game one on his way to 12 points and six boards. All this being said, if you didn’t think you could trust Coach Popovich in the regular season, trusting him in the preseason is a different animal, I would tread lightly here unless we get some information on minutes. The Rockets are expecting to have James Harden play in this game after being a bit of a drama queen off the court. Christian Wood has already been ruled out while Sterling Brown may have a chance to play but not someone that I would be all that thrilled about playing unless we get some kind of major news on him. This is the final preseason game for the Rockets, so my guess would be they want to get Harden some run here and is a guy I’m going to look to on this slate to lock in those raw fantasy points. DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall both saw a few more minutes in their second game, so maybe we see an even more expanded role from them here going into their final game. Wall was on a tear last game and saw the most minutes on the team with 24. These big three are firmly in play for me. Jae’Sean Tate has started both of their games so far and really hasn’t done anything so don’t let the starting tag get you excited, he may be pushed to the bench with Harden back anyway. Lastly, I wouldn’t expect PJ Tucker to play here, but keep an eye out for any news surrounding him as well.
5-star play: James Harden, John Wall
4-star play: DeMarcus Cousins
Deeper Value: Devin Vassell
GPP Sleeper: Dejounte Murray, Rudy Gay

Starting with the Warriors, we know for sure that they will be without Draymond Green and James Wiseman. We also know that they will probably go pretty deep here similar to their first preseason game. They played 14 guys at least 10 minutes in that game while the starters were between 18-23 minutes. I would expect something pretty similar here. Other than that, just keep an eye on breaking news or any information that happens to flow in. This will be the Kings final preseason game and I think there are some things to like here if we go off their first two games. The starting five seems to be getting some pretty good minutes, all of them around 25 with Nemanja Bjelica being the exception at 22. The other notable piece is Tyrese Haliburton getting 30 minutes in their last game and finishing with 11 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. I would think they want to continue to see what they have in him before the season starts so he’s a guy that I’ll have some interest in here. Otherwise, the starters seem to be the guys that are going to get some good work here and should be considered in your lineups unless we hear otherwise from beat reporters.
5-star play: Tyrese Haliburton, De’Aaron Fox
4-star play: Richaun Holmes

NBA Lock of the Day: James Harden (DK – $8.5k; FD – $6.0k)
I’m just going to eat the chalk on Harden here. It’s his first preseason game after being absent from the team, as he seems to be putting on a drama show. At this price he’s not all that hard to get in and similar to Giannis last night, you’ll want the raw fantasy points that he comes with. With it being his first game action since the playoffs, the Rockets may give him a few extra minutes to help get him back into game shape. He’ll likely be the first guy in my lineup. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 6.5x I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
