Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Memphis Grizzlies @ Boston Celtics
Vegas Total: 221.5
Vegas Spread: Bos -6.5
We’ll tip things off with the Grizzlies, who lost their star player in Ja Morant last time out and will be looking to fill in for him as best they can. I would expect Tyus Jones to be the biggest benefactor here as he saw 35 minutes last time out on his way to 24.75 DraftKings points. He did get priced up however so he’s not a free square like we would usually have. Jonas Valanciunas seems to be getting more consistent minutes this year and is generally a point per minute monster. The Celtics have a weak frontcourt, so I like getting to Joe Val here. Dillon Brooks looks great right now, he has at least 29 DraftKings points in each game this season and with Ja off the court his usage and shot quantity will go up, he’s a great play against a tough defense. Kyle Anderson had a big game last time out, but I just have a hard time clicking his name into my lineup, he’s painful to watch but I guess you can make a case for him in GPPs. From the Celtics, it’s really the Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown show here now with Kemba Walker out and Gordon Hayward out of town. That is really the extent of my interest in the Celtics, Jeff Teague bounced back last game, I guess you can make a case for him as a value in GPPs but given the size of the slate I would assume we get better value options. Another value guy on the Celtics is Payton Pritchard who has at least 23 minutes in two straight games. I don’t think I’m ready to go with him just yet, but he’s a name to watch out for.
5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Dillon Brooks
4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Anderson, Tyus Jones
Deeper Value: Jeff Teague, Payton Pritchard, Grayson Allen
GPP Sleeper: Kyle Anderson, Marcus Smart
Atlanta Hawks @ Brooklyn Nets
Vegas Total: 239.5
Vegas Spread: Bkn -7.0
This game has a massive game total and is one you’ll want to get some exposure to on this slate. From the Hawks, it sounds like Clint Capela will be good to go here while Danilo Gallinari is questionable. Capela gets a nice matchup against a Nets frontcourt that I’m going to continue to target with big men, but I don’t think the minutes will be there just yet for him. John Collins has yet to see 30 minutes this season which seems odd considering the minutes he was seeing last year, he’s more of a GPP guy for me. Trae Young should be able to do whatever he wants here and has at least 50 fantasy points in each of his first two games after coming down to Earth a bit more last game. Lastly, Bogdan Bogdanovic feels too cheap here and is a guy I like at that price range. The rest of this team is more GPP options than anything else. From the Nets, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are both under $9k here in a game with a total of 239.5 against a Hawks team that plays zero defense, I love them both here. Outside of them there really isn’t anyone else I love here, I guess you can make a case for DeAndre Jordan and Caris LeVert, maybe Joe Harris, in tournaments due to the total, but nobody I want to go too heavy on.
5-star play: Trae Young, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving
4-star play: John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, John Collins, DeAndre Jordan, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris
Milwaukee Bucks @ Miami Heat
Vegas Total: 225.5
Vegas Spread: Mil -5.5
We’ve got a back-to-back for these two teams. Last night the Bucks set the NBA record for three’s made in a game and destroyed the Heat which ruined some of that Heat value…cough cough…Goran Dragic…cough, but I don’t want to name any names. Starting with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo has started a bit slow in his standards but I think the price is fair here and with Jimmy Butler potentially out, it hurts this defense a bit. He’s a nice GPP play at the very least due to the upside he provides. Khris Middleton has started the season on fire, and he honestly looks like one of the better scorers in the league outside of the paint. I like him in GPPs, it’s tough for him just because of the usage that Giannis demands. Jrue Holiday’s price went down and is around a 25% usage rate on the season, I don’t mind him in all formats, he can stuff the stat sheet. He had a massive night last night in just 26 minutes, his price is getting to a point where I think we need to take a long look at him. Lastly Brook Lopez and Donte DiVincenzo make sense for GPPs. You can make a case for Bobby Portis who’s had at least 25 fantasy points in three straight. From the Heat, it sounds like Jimmy Butler is questionable, however, I have a feeling he sits again. Below is how the rest of this lineup plays out with him off the court if we look at last season’s stats (taking Jae Crowder off the court as well, as he’s no longer on the team):
- Tyler Herro – 25.1% usage rate; 0.93 fpm
- Goran Dragic – 28.8% usage rate; 1.11 fpm
- Bam Adebayo – 21.4% usage rate; 1.31 fpm
These three players are all great options here even after Bam and Dragic were duds last night, maybe we can get them at lower ownership due to this. Lastly, Duncan Robinson had a nice night last time out. The Bucks are willing to give up the three-ball so if he gets hot he can definitely get you there for GPP.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo
4-star play: Khris Middleton, Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic, Jrue Holiday
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Donte DiVincenzo, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Duncan Robinson, Jrue Holiday

Charlotte Hornets @ Dallas Mavericks
Vegas Total: 224.5
Vegas Spread: Dal -8.0
Starting with the Hornets, Bismack Biyombo finally got his price increase after Cody Zeller went down. He’s played 30 minutes in two straight and should continue down this path, he’s a fine mid-range center option. Gordon Hayward looks to have taken over on offense, he’s getting around 35 minutes per night and is going to be someone I like tonight. Both Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham seem pretty similar here, I don’t love either of them but they’re viable in all formats as a secondary option. PJ Washington has had back to back nice games, the Mavs aren’t exactly a great team in the paint, so I like getting to him in GPP as well. From the Mavs, Luka Doncic has a perfect 100 DFSA Grade and projecting for 5.48x his DraftKings price tag according to the Research Station below.

He seems like one of the better raw point options on the slate in a matchup with a bad Charlotte defense. Other than Doncic, there really isn’t a lot I love on this team. You can make a case for Maxi Kleber as a value play but nothing I want too much of.
5-star play: Gordon Hayward, Luka Doncic
4-star play: Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham, Bismack Biyombo
Deeper Value: Maxi Kleber
GPP Sleeper: PJ Washington, Miles Bridges, LaMelo Ball

Los Angeles Lakers @ San Antonio Spurs
Vegas Total: 228.5
Vegas Spread: Lal -4.5
I’ll start with the Lakers because we really need some news on them before we begin to analyze them. Anthony Davis sounds like he’ll be good to go here but LeBron James comes in as questionable. This will likely be the case for the Lakers for most of the season. I’ll operate as if they’re both in for now. However, keep an eye on the news from the Lakers and jump in our VIP coaching forums for updates and breakdowns on who they impact most. They’re both elite plays should they end up playing. The only other guy I would have interest in is Dennis Schroder, as I’m going to continue to target point guards against the Spurs all season. From the Spurs, I absolutely love DeMar DeRozan’s price here at under $7k on DraftKings. He’s scored at least 49 DraftKings points in two of his first three games and is just too cheap here. Dejounte Murray continues to play well and with Derrick White still out you can go right back to him. Lonnie Walker makes sense as a GPP option, while I’ll likely continue to fade LaMarcus Aldridge, he’s going to have to prove it to me before I go to him this season.
5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan
4-star play: Dennis Schroder
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, Lonnie Walker

Portland Trailblazers @ Los Angeles Clippers
Vegas Total: 227.5
Vegas Spread: Lac -3.5
Starting with the Blazers, CJ McCollum now has back to back 50+ point fantasy nights. You can make a case for going back to him, but I think people start to chase those points here, so I’ll be under the field. Damian Lillard had a nice game in that one as well, I don’t know how much I’ll get of him here just because I like other guys in that price tier more but he’s solid for GPPs. Jusuf Nurkic is another guy I like here, I like targeting big men against the Clippers, as it’s their weakest position defensively. Lastly, Robert Covington and Derrick Jones Jr. make sense although Carmelo Anthony is expected back here and will cut into their production. From the Clippers, it sounds like Kawhi Leonard is questionable, I would assume this is the case for him most of the season, he’s known for getting rested often through his career. If he plays, he’s a great play and if he’s out I’ll be all over Paul George, Lou Williams, and even guys like Serge Ibaka and Nicolas Batum. That said, Batum isn’t a big usage guy so I’d be heavier on the first three. It’s a good matchup for the Clippers, as the Blazers don’t play much defense.
5-star play: Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard
4-star play: CJ McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic, Robert Covington, Paul George, Serge Ibaka
Deeper Value: Derrick Jones Jr.
GPP Sleeper: Nic Batum, Serge Ibaka
NBA Lock of the Day: DeMar DeRozan (DK – $6.9k; FD – $8.5k)
This is more of a DraftKings lock than anything due to the price differential, but this price on DraftKings is just too low. He’s been on a heater ever since the back end of last season and is a guy I want to get a lot of here. The Research Station has him projected for 38.29 DraftKings points which comes out to 5.55x his price tag. The Spurs should be competitive in this one and even in a tougher matchup, I like getting me some DeRozan here. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 5x tonight I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
