Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Golden State Warriors @ Brooklyn Nets
Vegas Total: 230
Vegas Spread: Bkn -7.0
We’ll tip things off with the game with the higher game total at 230, which is really a pretty nice total considering it’s opening night. Starting with the Warriors, it sounds like Draymond Green is going to be doubtful, while James Wiseman is currently questionable. Steve Kerr did say there was a chance that Wiseman could get the start, but something we’ll have to monitor, as he hasn’t stepped on the court for the Warriors yet. With Green likely out, we’ll see guys like Eric Paschall, Kevon Looney, and Marquese Chriss impacted. With Green out last season, Looney was the more productive producer at 0.91 fantasy points per minute. That said, Wiseman throws a monkey-wrench into things but would expect him to be more of a five rather than the four. So, I would have an interest in whoever starts among Pascall, Looney, and Chriss… I’m expecting it to be Paschall since it’s what we saw them do last season. Green had just an 18% usage rate last season so it’s not like there’s a ton of usage opening up, but those minutes are still worth coveting. Steph Curry didn’t show any sign of rust in the preseason, as he had big nights almost every night. He had close to a 33% usage rate last season but played just five games due to injury and his team being one of the worst in the league. I think the price tag on him is pretty decent and the Domination Station has him projected to be the third-highest scorer on the slate, Kyrie defense doesn’t scare me, he’s an elite play here. Kelly Oubre is a new addition to the Warriors, he had a 20% usage rate last year, and will be interesting to see if the Warriors can stretch him to be more of a three-point shooter. The price tag on him seems a bit high here but should contend for the most minutes on the team in game one. Andrew Wiggins led this team last season with Curry out, he had a 27.6% usage rate which will come down here with Curry back in the lineup and the addition of Oubre. That said, I do like the price on him here, and is definitely viable for your lineups. From the Nets, we begin the season with a good ole revenge game for Kevin Durant, who missed last season due to injury. Now with the Nets, we should expect him to lead this team in usage. It’ll be interesting to see how he plays with Kyrie Irving by his side, but ultimately should be a star all season long in DFS. Speaking of Kyrie, he is the highest projected point per dollar play on the Nets according to the Research Station at 4.9x. Generally, I try and shoot for a value of at least 5-5.5x the player’s price tag, but on a two-game slate you don’t have that luxury, you need to get those raw points from somewhere and Kyrie seems like a decent place to start. I’m not expecting the Warriors to be all that great defensively so Kyrie shouldn’t have any trouble doing what he wants here. The rest of this team is secondary options for me until we see how their roles play out with Durant on the court.
5-star play: Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving
4-star play: James Wiseman (if starting), Eric Paschall, Andrew Wiggins, Kevin Durant
Deeper Value: Eric Paschall
GPP Sleeper: Kelly Oubre, Andrew Wiggins, Joe Harris, Caris LeVert
Los Angeles Clippers @ Los Angeles Lakers
Vegas Total: 223.5
Vegas Spread: Lal -2.5
We’ll start with Clippers here, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard feel pretty appropriately priced. They both performed pretty well against the Lakers last season actually. George averaged 43.7 DraftKings points per game in three games while Leonard averaged 47.1 DraftKings points per game in four games against the Lakers. Considering their price tags, those would both be pretty nice numbers here. The Clippers did gain Serge Ibaka who should probably slide in and take that Montrezl Harrell role but can be more of a true five than Harrell was. I love the price on Ibaka here and is someone that I think helps make your lineups work in this one even in a tougher matchup. Other than those three I think you’re really just left with Lou Williams for GPP and possibly Pat Beverley if you need some value. From the Lakers, it was truly the Anthony Davis and LeBron James show last season. They commanded most of the usage and did most of the production in terms of DFS. Something I did a lot last year and plan on doing again this year was target big men against the Clippers. Yes, the Clippers were able to replace Ibaka with Harrell, but it’s still by far the weakest part of that defense. Davis is an elite option here and may be the top raw option on the slate. That said, LeBron James projects out has the better point per dollar option if we take a look at the Research Station below.

As you can see, he projects for a 5.22x value on his price tag compared to a 4.88x that Davis has. Now, this isn’t necessarily the end all be all when it comes to deciding between two, but generally, I took the cheaper option between them last season to save some salary without sacrificing a ceiling. They both averaged 47+ DraftKings points per game in four games against the Clippers last season, so I don’t think you can really go wrong here. We had a revenge game in the early game and now we get one with Montrezl Harrell squaring up against his old team. The price on Harrell isn’t too bad, but he’s going to have to be really efficient with his minutes, as we don’t project him for a whole lot, similar to most of last season. Lastly, I think Dennis Schroder is more of a GPP option than anything, I don’t think the usage will be there for him to be a strong DFS option all year, but I’m sure he’ll have his games, like most players.
5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, LeBron James, Anthony Davis
4-star play: Serge Ibaka
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroder

NBA Lock of the Day: Eric Paschall (DK – $3.8k; FD – $4.9k)
I’ll start by stating this is more of a DraftKings play than a FanDuel play due to the price difference amongst the sites. It’s also contingent on him starting, which I expect with Draymond Green doubtful. The price tag on DraftKings just allows you to be so much more flexible with what you do with your lineup. The Domination Station likes him as well and has him projected to be the second-highest point per dollar play of the night on DraftKings at 5.2x. It’s not a huge multiplier, but on a two-game slate where the pricing looks to be pretty good, I’ll take that all day long if it helps me get more stars in my lineup. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 5x tonight I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
