Clipping Coupons for NFL Week 14

Another week is in the books and now we start this puzzle all over again for week 14. We are almost finished with the NFL season but there is a ton of money to be won in Daily Fantasy Football every single week and we have solid data to work with after 13 weeks in the books. Somebody can win a million dollars each week on DraftKings and FanDuel and there are tons of other contests that can fit your personal DFS goals. However, if a player is a good play on one site, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are a good play on the other site. Salaries are everything in DFS and in this article I am going to point out the best deals on each week on each site and help you clip some coupons if you are looking to bargain shop around the DFS industry. Here are some of the best deals this week at each offensive position:

Quarterbacks

Deshaun Watson on FanDuel $8,000. Watson is without Fuller and now Brandin Cooks and Keke Coutee are questionable as well. It’s hard to trust Watson’s weapons here if those guys are out but I think he is in play either way on FanDuel. If either or both of those WRs sit, it will decrease Watson’s ownership and that is why I think he is still in play in that case. If they are in, then he is good to go. He had 341 yards last week and he has the ability to score with his legs as well. DraftKings has him priced as the 3rd highest QB on the slate and only $500 less than #1. On FanDuel, he is priced down at #6 and that is $1,100 less than the top guy. I do like that discount on Watson and with his ability to score with his legs I think we could even run him out naked if we want to and hope he rushes for 2 TDs.

Sam Darnold on DraftKings $5,100. I don’t know that I have ever rostered Sam Darnold on a main slate before, but I am a bit interested this weekend over on DraftKings. This is a great matchup against a bad secondary in the Seahawks and Darnold has 3 stacking options in Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, and Bernard Perriman. The Seahawks are ranked dead last against opposing WRs so we can even stack him up with 2 of these guys for a cheap salary and that lets us pay up for top RBs if that is what we are looking to do. The Jets are 13.5-point underdogs this weekend so they should be playing from behind and passing a lot to catch up. Not only is this a good matchup and game script for Darnold, but we are getting a nice discount on him this week on DraftKings. He is priced up as the 14th highest QB on the main slate over on FanDuel which will make him a fade for me on that site. On DraftKings, he is priced as the 2nd to last starting QB this week and he should be low owned as well. That is a coupon I might be clipping this week in GPPs.

Running Backs

David Montgomery on FanDuel $6,600. This isn’t the biggest coupon, but it is still a discount on a player who has been doing well lately. Montgomery has a nice matchup here against the Texans who are ranked 31st against opposing RBs in fantasy points and he is coming off back-to-back 22+ point games. He is getting used in the passing game as well which is a bonus, and he has found the endzone 3 times in those two games. DraftKings has Montgomery priced as the 10th highest RB on the main slate this week and we are getting him 4 spots lower on FD. I like this price tag and I like the matchup and I think he is in play on both sites. I do prefer taking the discount on FanDuel though and he is a decent runback for Watson stacks since he made the list on FD as well.

Phillip Lindsay on DraftKings $4,300. This is an ugly play, and I don’t know that he even makes my player pool. However, his price on DraftKings has me interested in GPPs. He is priced up as the 26th highest RB on the FanDuel slate this week and that will make him an easy fade for me on that site. On DraftKings, he is all the way down at #44 and this is a great matchup against the Panthers who have allowed 29 or more DK points to opposing RBs in half of their games this season. He hasn’t been doing much lately but he is still getting decent volume averaging 13 rushes per game and if he gets a TD then he should pay off this price tag and it allows us to pay up in other spots. He will be basically unowned as well which is another plus in GPPs so he might be a milly maker type play for me this weekend.

Wide Receivers

Allen Robinson on FanDuel $7,000. FanDuel has discounted this HOU/CHI game all-around this weekend so we can get a coupon on a full game stack over there in GPPs if we want to. This game only has a 45-point total which will keep the ownership down on the game stacks and I could see this game shooting out. I do like this as a milly maker type game stack this week and the best 3 plays in the game in Watson, Montgomery, and Robinson are all discounted. We aren’t getting a big discount on Robinson here, but he is 4 spots lower than he is on DraftKings and the Texans have allowed some easy long TDs to star WRs this season. I like attacking this defense every week and I am cool with using Robinson and Montgomery in the same lineup. I would rather do that in a Watson stack because I don’t trust Trubisky, but they are both nice bring back options if you only want to use one of them.

AJ Green on DraftKings $3,000. I feel like AJ has made my list every week on DraftKings with them lowering his price in each game. He is now the bare min price of $3k. He is also going against the 2nd worst secondary in the league. He had zero catches last week but he was on the field for all but 2 snaps so he should have the opportunity and all we need is for him to catch 1 TD for him to pay this salary off. On FanDuel he is $800 more than the min price so I would probably just limit my exposure to DK only. Tee Higgins is also listed as questionable so if he sits, I will like AJ even more. GPP only though because he could put up another dud.

Tight Ends

Hunter Henry on FanDuel $5,600. There really aren’t any good discounts at TE this week over on FanDuel but Henry is 3 spots lower than he is on DraftKings and he is one that I am interested in at low ownership. He is coming off his worst game of the season so all the people with short memory spans will be fading him. The four games before that he was averaging 7.5 targets per game and last weekend they were completely blown out and I don’t see that happening here against the Falcons. We have a 49.5 game total in this one and I would bet on Herbert to get back on track against this defense. The Falcons have allowed 15 or more FD points to opposing TEs in 7 games this season and Henry is in play for me on both sites, but I do always prefer clipping these coupons.

Jimmy Graham on DraftKings $3,000. Graham put up a 0 last week so he should go unowned this week and we are getting a discount on him over on DraftKings. He is priced as the 15th highest TE on FanDuel this week which will make him a fade for me over there. On DraftKings, he has 26 other TE priced the same or above him and that puts him in play for me if I am not paying up at TE. Graham did have 2 TDs from Trubisky in the first 3 weeks that he played with him and at this price we really just need him to fall into the endzone once to be happy. It’s also a nice hedge if we are loading up on the Montgomery and Robinson discounts over on FanDuel.
