Clipping Coupons for NFL Week 5
Another week is in the books and now we start this puzzle all over again for week 5. This is the best time of the year for me and there is a ton of money to be won in Daily Fantasy Football every single week. Somebody can win a million dollars each week on DraftKings and FanDuel and there are tons of other contests that can fit your personal DFS goals. However, if a player is a good play on one site, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are a good play on the other site. Salaries are everything in DFS and in this article I am going to point out the best deals on each week on each site and help you clip some coupons if you are looking to bargain shop around the DFS industry. Here are some of the best deals this week at each offensive position:
Quarterbacks
Ben Roethlisberger on FanDuel $7,4000. QB is pretty close on both sites this week but Big Ben is at a bit of a discount on FanDuel and I think he could be a good GPP play as well. DraftKings has Big Ben priced as the 7th highest QB this week and FanDuel has him two spots down at the 9th highest. He is coming off an early bye week with the COVID ppd game last week, and he averaged over 20 FD points the first 3 weeks of the season. He is healthy and he has all his weapons healthy as well. I think he goes under-owned this week, so I am interested in some Steelers stacks, but I am more likely to just take the slight discount and use him on FanDuel.

Daniel Jones on DraftKings $5,400. This is a scary play but one I am going to be high on personally. We have a 54-point total in this game and the Giants should be playing catchup and forced to throw against a secondary who hasn’t been able to stop anybody. It is scary because Jones hasn’t had a TD since week 1 and he is only averaging 10 DK points the last 3 weeks. I am hoping that keeps his ownership down though because I want to clip this coupon on DraftKings. FanDuel has Jones priced as the 15th highest QB on the main slate and he is 19th on DraftKings. He is also a guy who can use his legs to score points and I think that makes him playable in all formats this week if you need to punt at QB in cash games. If there is a spot for Jones to blow up, it is this game against the Cowboys. We have him as the 2nd highest Fpts/$ play behind the other QB in this game on the DFS ARMY Domination Station this week as well so I will be making multiple stack rules on this game with the optimizer and it will be a big part of my MME lineups. Hell, even Choppodong mentioned him in his article, “Winning Fantasy Football on a Budget.” And, Chop doesn’t usually do “road QBs.”

Running Backs
James Robinson on FanDuel $6,600. DraftKings has Robinson priced up as the 5th highest RB on the main slate this week. FanDuel is giving us a nice coupon on him priced as the 12th highest on the slate. This game has a 54-point total and he is averaging 18.5 touches per game. This could be a solid stack game and Robinson is one of maybe two Jaguars that I would be interested in personally. I won’t play him on DraftKings this week, but this is probably a coupon I will clip over on FanDuel and I think he is one of the top RB plays on that site.
Josh Jacobs on DraftKings $6,300. Jacobs hasn’t found the endzone in 3 weeks, so we are getting him at a discount now in a game with the highest total of the week. The Raiders should be playing from behind this week as big underdogs against the Chiefs and Jacobs can be used in the passing game, especially with Ruggs III and Edwards possibly sitting again. He is averaging over 3 targets per game (easily spotted in our NFL Research Station) and that could go up in this game with them likely playing catchup. I think this is a solid game to stack this week and Jacobs will be my favorite run back option for my Chiefs stacks. FanDuel has Jacobs still priced as a top RB and he is their 3rd highest priced guy on the slate. That is an easy fade for me but DraftKings is giving us a coupon to clip with him priced as the 11th highest RB and that makes me want to click on his name at lower ownership as well.

Wide Receivers
Marquise Brown $6,100 and Tyler Boyd on FanDuel $6,000. Here we have a nice mini-stack option with the two top WRs in the same game. They are both priced down on FanDuel this week and they could both be in for big weeks. Brown hasn’t had a big game yet, but he has seen at least 6 targets in every game, and he will find the endzone soon, and maybe from a long TD as well. DraftKings has Brown priced as the 13th highest WR on the slate but FanDuel has him down as the 19th. He is a boom/bust play that I like to target in GPPs, and we are due for that boom week. Boyd, on the other side of the field, has been the number one WR for the Bengals averaging 8.5 targets per game and 13.1 FD points. I don’t mind using either QB from this game and running out both of these WRs as the stack for a FanDuel lineup and it could score big. DraftKings has Boyd priced as the 14th highest WR on the slate but again the coupon to clip is over on FanDuel this week with him priced down at 21st highest.
Tyreek Hill on DraftKings $6,900. Hill is always in play as a GPP option and he can break a slate quick with Mahomes at QB (check their leverage on the industry with our new tool, NFL Leverage Stacking). This is the highest total game on the slate this week (before it was pulled). Hill has had over 15 DK points in every game so far and that includes 1 TD in each game, but he hasn’t had that blow-up game yet and that is why we are getting him under $7k this week. We are only getting this discount on DraftKings though because FanDuel has him priced as the 3rd highest WR on the slate and only $500 behind Hopkins. DraftKings has him priced as the 5th highest WR but a full $1k less than Nuk. I don’t think I would go to Hill in cash games even with this discount, but he is going to be a guy I look to go overweight on in tournaments.
Tight Ends
Dalton Schultz on FanDuel $5,300. This Cowboys offense has scored over 30 points the last 3 weeks and Dak Prescott has thrown for 450 yards or more in all 3 of those games. Since he got the starting job, Schultz has averaged 8 targets per game, and he has 2 TDs in those 3 games. He is going to be a big part of this offense this year and it’s a sneaky stack spot if you are attacking this game. We are also getting him at a bit of a discount on FanDuel with him priced as the 12th highest TE on the slate and $2,500 less than the top-priced guy, compared to 9th on DraftKings and only $1,800 behind #1. I have interest in him on both sites this week but if you are clipping coupons this week then FanDuel is the site for your Schultz lineups.
Jack Doyle on DraftKings $3,300. There really aren’t any decent coupons to clip at TE on DraftKings this week. One I did find was Jack Doyle, but I don’t know that I am interested in clipping this one myself. The Colts are running 3 TE’s now with their WRs banged up, so it’s hard to trust him to get the work, but he is still in on more than half of the snaps, and the Browns are ranked last in the league against opposing TEs. FanDuel has Doyle priced as the 15th highest TE on the slate so I will be X’ing him out of my player pool over there, but I might get some exposure on DraftKings where he has 21 people price the same or above him. I doubt he even gets over 1% ownership as well and maybe he can fall in the endzone twice and really pay off for us.

Kyle Marley, AKA BigMarley3, also has premium NFL DK Tier content each week.
