Orlando Magic @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 212

Vegas Spread: Orl -7.0

Starting with the home team throughout this bubble, the Orlando Magic. They should be able to do whatever they want here against a Brooklyn team that played little defense in the first place and now will be without Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan, and Wilson Chandler. I’ve been targeting big men against the Nets all season and with Jordan now out, I’ll go even harder. Nikola Vucevic is priced about right but I do think there’s some upside there in this matchup. Aaron Gordon is more of a GPP play to me simply because he’s priced about right and the availability of Jonathan Isaac is questionable, if he were out, I would be on Gordon a bit more. Terrence Ross will always be in play for GPPs due to his ability to put up raw points, he’s one of the better bench scorers in the league. On the other hand, Evan Fournier is the safer play of the two because of his consistency. Lastly, I don’t hate the price on Markelle Fultz, he’s worth a flyer if you’re trying to close out your lineups. Now from these Nets… I’m not excited about this part. As I mentioned, they’re in rough shape with so many guys not playing. I’ll put it plain and simple, but Caris LeVert is too cheap right now. He’s going to get all the usage on this team, as long as he stays healthy and gets his normal workload, I expect him to be in the $9k’s in no time. I love LeVert at this price tag and will likely be in a lot of my lineups. It will be interesting to see how many minutes they give to Jarrett Allen if they give him 30 minutes he’s damn near a lock due to his point per minute ability with DeAndre Jordan out. Even if he’s in that 22-25 minute range he’s still a great play. Now it gets ugly… Rodions Kurucs should get the start and play a decent amount of minutes and be viable as a value punt option. While Garrett Temple and Joe Harris are solid GPP plays at nice prices.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen

4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, Terrence Ross, Markelle Fultz

Deeper Value: Rodions Kurucs

GPP Sleeper: Joe Harris, Terrence Ross, Aaron Gordon

Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trailblazers

Vegas Total: 224

Vegas Spread: Por -3.0

This should be a fun game with some entertaining point guard action but I do see the Blazers as potential threat in the West. Starting with the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas feels priced about right here, that said, I’ve been targeting big men against Hassan Whiteside all season long. However, with Jusuf Nurkic back the Blazers do see a nice defense bump because Whiteside was hot garbage on defense. Ja Morant scored 40.8 DraftKings in this matchup earlier this season and I think he has a bit of a coming-out party in this bubble, I like him at this price here but still more of a GPP play due to his volatility. The last guy I would have interest in from the Grizzlies would be Dillon Brooks as a mid-range option. From the Blazers, Damian Lillard is priced about where he should be, he scored 43.8 DraftKings points in this matchup last time out. You could make a fun GPP stack between Lillard and Morant and hope they really duke it out. It’ll be interesting to see how the Hassan Whiteside and Jusuf Nurkic rotation battle will turn out. Nurkic played 16 minutes in his last scrimmage game and those will only continue to go up, Nurkic is the superior player and will grab that starting spot when he’s ready. He’s interesting at this price tag. Lastly, Carmelo Anthony and Gary Trent Jr. are nice GPP options. I think Trent will pick up some slack for Trevor Ariza and Rodney Hood but that much is still to be determined.

5-star play: Ja Morant, Damian Lillard

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks, Hassan Whiteside, Jusuf Nurkic

Deeper Value: Gary Trent Jr.

GPP Sleeper: Carmelo Anthony, Jusuf Nurkic

Phoenix Suns @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 224

Vegas Spread: Pho -7.0

Starting with the Suns, Kelly Oubre Jr. will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. This is one of the bigger noteworthy topics as it pertains to DFS as Oubre was playing 34.5 minutes per game this season. Devin Booker should see a ton of usage here along with Ricky Rubio and DeAndre Ayton, while Cam Johnson could see some extended run at the wing. The Suns should be able to do what they want here against a weak Wizards team making Devin Booker a solid play at a pretty high price tag. DeAndre Ayton makes a lot of sense here as well against a weak Wizards frontcourt. Ricky Rubio feels a bit pricey here and has proven to be streaky this season so I may take this game as a wait-and-see on him. Lastly, Mikal Bridges should be a nice option at his price tag with Oubre out, if you’re stuck in that range Dillon Brooks and he are very solid cash options. From the Wizards, it’s ugly. Bradley Beal and Davis Bertans won’t be in the NBA restart making Rui Hachimura the most expensive player on this team. On the season, Hachimura has a pretty pedestrian 24% usage rate with these guys off the court. Shabazz Napier is the guy I want here, I expect he and Ish Smith will run this offense. Ish has a 25.6% usage rate with these guys off the court while with a very small sample size of 13 minutes Shabazz has a 40% usage rate. Both guys are very solid plays here. The last two guys I want here are Troy Brown and Mo Wagner who should both benefit from Beal and Bertans out. The Wizards don’t have really anything to play for so I expect them to just go out and let their kids ball.

5-star play: Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, Shabazz Napier

4-star play:  Mikal Bridges, Ricky Rubio, Rui Hachimura, Ish Smith, Troy Brown, Thomas Bryant

Deeper Value: Ish Smith

GPP Sleeper: Mo Wagner

Boston Celtics @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 218.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -5.0

Starting with the Celtics, Jayson Tatum gets an incredibly tough matchup here as he’ll have to deal with the length of the Bucks on the wing. He’s struggled in this spot this season averaging just 34 DraftKings points per game in two games, he’s too expensive for me here. Kemba Walker, on the other hand, is a different story. He’s averaging 55.9 DraftKings points per game in two games, it’s tough not to like him at this price tag, BUT he’s only expected to play 15-20 minutes to open up the season, so he’s a fade for me here. Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, and Marcus Smart are all solid plays here, but again it’s a tough matchup against Giannis and Middleton, but they can’t guard them all! From the Bucks, Eric Bledsoe and Pat Connaughton won’t play here as they made it to the bubble late. With these two off the court this season Giannis Antetokounmpo has a 37.3% usage rate while Khris Middleton is at 31%. The Bucks don’t need to win here as they’ve basically got the one seed wrapped up so I doubt these two get pushed to their limits but I still expect them to get around 25-30 minutes to get back into game shape. George Hill will likely start for Bledsoe but he’s another guy that they’re not going to push too hard. An interesting bench piece from this team is Sterling Brown, keep an eye on him for this eight-game stretch because he will get run as the Bucks try and get the starters just enough time to keep players fresh.

5-star play: Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward

4-star play:  Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez

Deeper Value: Sterling Brown

GPP Sleeper: Sterling Brown, Brook Lopez

Sacramento Kings @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Sac -3.5

Starting with the Kings, point guards against the Spurs are something I’ve been targeting this season and the Kings have to make up some ground to make the playoffs. I like some De’Aaron Fox here although he did struggle in this spot earlier this season. Buddy Hield makes for an elite GPP option here. The thing that is unknown for Hield is how many minutes he’ll get but in two matchups with the Spurs this season he’s averaging 43.9 DraftKings points per game. It’s a great price tag on him if they give him the minutes. Nemanja Bjelica is more than him on DraftKings and is more of a cash option. Lastly, Richaun Holmes damn near dropped a 50 burger on the Spurs earlier this season, he should get the minutes here to warrant some upside at his price tag. From the Spurs, it will be the DeMar DeRozan show with LaMarcus Aldridge out for the season. DeMar DeRozan sees the biggest usage bump at +3%, but big men like Trey Lyles, Jakob Poeltl, Drew Eubanks, and newly signed Tyler Zeller (some of these options are turds by the way). Dejounte Murray should see a nice usage bump as well but is more of a GPP option as his minutes are less than locked in with this team at the moment. Lastly, Derrick White was cooking right as the season was suspended so he and Murray will jockey in this backcourt, I like White more for cash and Murray for GPP.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, DeMar DeRozan

4-star play:  Richaun Holmes, Nemanja Bjelica, Derrick White, Dejounte Murray

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Buddy Hield, Dejounte Murray, Richaun Holmes, Bogdan Bogdanovic

Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 229

Vegas Spread: Dal -1.0

We end the day with the highest total on the slate at 229. We’ll get started with the Rockets, James Harden seems to be in mid-season form as he dropped 31 points in his final scrimmage game. He’s expensive, but for good reason, he’s an elite play here. Russell Westbrook struggled in that final scrimmage game but he was playing phenomenal basketball going into the season suspension. I think you can take a shot on him in GPPs due to his immense upside. I love Robert Covington on this team, they seemed to have figure out something that other teams couldn’t and realized his potential at power forward. His rebounds are through the roof with this team, I like him at this price tag. PJ Tucker and Danuel House make for some nice value options especially now that Eric Gordon will have to miss some time. From the Mavs, Luka Doncic dropped 77 DraftKings points on the Rockets earlier this season and in a pace up spot is an elite play and one of the better raw plays on the slate. Kristaps Porzinigs was on a heater heading into the suspension, it’ll be interesting to see if that carries over but in a fast-paced matchup with the Rockets I like him as a GPP option at the very least, he’s likely cash safe as well. Lastly, Seth Curry and Tim Hardaway are fine secondary options due to the pace of this game but nothing that I’m in love with. With Willie Cauley-Stein out they’ll need some help at center, but not in this matchup due to the Rockets playing small ball.

5-star play: James Harden, Luka Doncic

4-star play:  Russell Westbrook, Robert Covington, Kristaps Porzingis

Deeper Value: Danuel House

GPP Sleeper: Russell Westbrook, PJ Tucker, Danuel House, Seth Curry, Tim Hardaway
