PITCHERS

Today we actually have a pretty solid slate for pitching, as it’s been hard to find something to like these past few nights, now let’s dig into it!

Eric Jokisch ($9,700/$25)

Jokisch is coming off his first loss of the year, in which he was still phenomenal and gave up only 1 ER. He also gets a solid matchup here, as Lotte was THE worst overall offense in the KBO up until the last week where they’ve found some signs of life, however, they don’t matchup well against LHPs like Jokisch. Let’s check out his stats on the year: 5-1/ 1.49 ERA/ 0.97 WHIP/ 6 QS’s in 7 games/ 7 BB in 42 1/3 IPs and only 1 HR allowed on the year. I simply don’t see a way that Lotte really gets to him here tonight, however, his K upside isn’t as high as Rucinski’s when it comes to ceiling, but he’ll likely pitch deeper into the game than Rucinski will. Jokisch is an ALL format type play here tonight, and I give him the slight nod over Rucinski on both sites, but it is close.

Drew Rucinski ($9,800/$27)

I expect most people to go with Jokisch and Rucinski tonight on DraftKings for cash, and for good reason. Rucinski comes into this game sporting a 2.23 ERA to go along with a 4-1 record and averages just under 9K/9IP with 41 K’s in 44 1/3 innings. He also gets the backing of this powerful NC offense, although I’m not thrilled about them given the matchup against Brooks who does a pretty good job of preventing the long ball. Rucinski has some really solid K upside here though and for me it is a 1A/1B situation with him and Jokisch tonight. Rucinski is an ALL format type play for me tonight, but he will be heavily owned and for good reason, him and Jokisch will be very popular as SP1/SP2 on DraftKings.

Raul Alcantara ($7,900/$26)

Alcantara makes a lot of sense for an SP2 on DraftKings in both Cash and GPPs if you’re looking to save some salary there. He gets to face off against one of the worst offenses in the league in Samsung, and to boot he’s won each of his last 6 starts. He has decent K upside, with 35 K’s in 42 IPs and his main issue has been giving up the long ball, as he’s allowed 5 HRs on the year. However, Samsung, has been pretty bad at hitting HR’s this year, ranking towards the bottom third of the KBO. Doosan is also the heaviest favorite on the night with a -222 line which helps his cause even further. Alcantara is going to be a HYBRID type play tonight, as I think he can be used in both Cash and GPPs, but not as your SP1. He’s more of a leverage play on FanDuel where the W is more important as well as he’s priced over Jokisch over there.

Aaron Brooks ($8,700/$23)

I know, I know the matchup here isn’t great against this powerful NC team. However, they’ve cooled off recently over the past few games after putting up an absurd string of 10+ runs scored in several games. On the year, Brooks has been really solid despite a lack of offense behind him. Over his last 3 starts he’s allowed only 4 ERs, while going 2-1 and striking out 11 over 17 2/3 innings. He’s absolutely a leverage play here as he does a pretty good job of keeping the ball in the park, while NC’s greatest attribute is the long ball. Brooks is a GPP only play for me tonight, as he shouldn’t be highly owned and can pay off big time, but does carry significant risk given the matchup.

Hitting STACKS

Here are several of my favorite hitting teams for tomorrow. For the purposes of this article, our hitter focus will revolve around teams to stack. You can also see a detailed look at individual hitters by gandering over to at our KBO Cheat sheets! The cheat sheets have core plays highlighted in blue as well as other cash and tournament options.

Tonight’s Cheatsheets are coming alive!  You have time to jump in, save hours of tedious research, and apply our help for the overnight slate.  You unlock core plays to build around, key pieces to stacks, great 4 and 5 star one-offs, and detailed coaching notes providing the why behind the play.

DOOSAN (vs Seung-Ju Han) – Doosan is going to be my top stack, and many people’s top stack on the night for good reason. They’re facing a Samsung SP with an ERA of over 7, and their bats have been starting to heat up, specifically Fernandez who is hitting a cool .692 with 2 HR’s against this Samsung team already this year.

SK (vs Min-Soo Kim) – SK gets to face Kim tonight, who is flirting with an ERA just under 10 at 9.98. He’s been getting knocked around in every game he comes into, and he doesn’t last long either as he started out the year in the bullpen, his longest start lasted 5 1/3 innings. SK will definitely go overlooked here tonight and I like them as a sneaky secondary stack in this matchup as KT’s bullpen has not been great this year either.

LG (vs Min-Jae Jang) – Not having Roberto Ramos is a huge hit to this LG offense, but they’ve shown that they can still put up runs without him, putting up 16 runs over their last two games. They also get Jang here who can’t pitch in any league and has an ERA of up over 7 to go along with the fact that they destroyed him for 6 runs over 3 innings and allowing 2 HRs in his previous start against them this year.

KIWOOM (vs Kyung-Eun Noh) – Kiwoom has been long overdue for some positive power regression, as their hitters are simply too good to have been kept this cold for too long. Byung-Ho Park has also homered twice against this Lotte team this year, and he’s due for more along with his fellow bash brother Dong-Won Park. Also helps to get a starting pitcher who they’ve already knocked around earlier this year.
