Probable Pitchers and 2019 Stats (by WHIP)

DFS Targets for 5/9

This will be a very interesting slate for pitching. Once you get towards the back end of rotations the balance swings (even more) dramatically toward hitters.
*There are rainout risks across the league tonight. Stay tuned for weather news and updates.

ALL

Tae-hoon Kim
SK Wyverns
$6,700 | $25
Yet another reliever from 2019 (although did throw 85 pitches in his preseason start). His strikeout percentage was a whopping 9.82/9 innings and his WHIP was 1.26. The matchup against Lotte will be interesting. They are off to a great start on offense this season but were one of the worst LHP hitting teams in the league last season. Because options are limited, Tae-hoon is my top pitching play on the slate.

Yong-chan Lee
Doosan Bears
$8,800 | $27
Started 26 games for the Bears last season and posted a respectable 4.07 ERA in 148+ innings while striking out 102. He is expensive but easily on of the most solid options on the slate.

GPP

Hyun-hee Han
Kiwoom Heroes
$4,000 | $24
Spent his time as a reliever last season and turned in a solid year – 3.41 ERA/1.21 WHIP and 7.6 SO/9. He reached the 50 pitch mark in his one exhibition start and finds himself in a decent matchup tonight.

Chan-gyu Lim
LG Twins
$6,900 | $22
Converted to starting pitcher from the bullpen halfway through last season. Command issues get him into trouble but he does have high strikeout upside. His opponent (NC Dinos) have been very good to start the season. He is volatile but the nature of this slate makes him worth a look.

Young-gyu Kim

Team: NC Dinos
Price: $4,000 | $24
Notes: Of the several $4,000 options on DK, he’s one of the few who could be viable. Young-gyu is young and doesn’t boast the most promising numbers (5.29 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 6.2 SO/9) but he has a solid chance to qualify for the win based on his team and opponent.

Between the rain chances and volatile pitching, this will make for one of the most intriguing DFS slates of the young KBO season. I also wanted to thank MyKBOStats for putting together the table shown above. Their site makes for another great KBO resource. Don’t forget to check back in regarding weather updates and good luck tonight!
