Full Court Press:

Phoenix Suns @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker continues to play well but really had a bad game against the Nets last time out, I like going back to him here in hopes that people are off of him after last game. DeAndre Ayton has at least 45 fantasy points in four of his last five games and the spot is ideal, love him here, they’ll need his size. Kelly Oubre makes a lot of sense as a GPP option as he can get hot in any game and is playing a ton of minutes right now. Lastly, Ricky Rubio is in pretty bad form as of late, I’ll wait until he gets his minutes and production back. From the Pistons, Andre Drummond has back-to-back 50 point DraftKings outings and gets a nice matchup here as well as Ayton isn’t exactly an elite defender yet. Derrick Rose will be out again here which means we can go right back to Bruce Brown and Reggie Jackson. Both guys should see similar minutes as they did last game and Jackson may even see them closer to 30 minutes. Lastly, Sekou Doumbouya shot 2-15 last game and still got nearly 20 DraftKings points, he makes sense again if he gets the start again.

5-star play: Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, Andre Drummond

4-star play: Kelly Oubre, Bruce Brown, Reggie Jackson

Deeper Value: Sekou Doumbouya

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio

Indiana Pacers @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 216.5

Vegas Spread: Tor -6.0

Starting with the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis is extremely expensive but is coming off a 59 point DraftKings outing, it’s tough not to like his consistency even in a tough matchup. Malcolm Brogdon makes some sense here and has at least 33 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. Victor Oladipo has played 21,22, and 23 minutes in his three games since returning from injury. He hasn’t done a whole lot with those minutes, so I’ll wait until he really starts to take a bigger role in this offense. TJ Warren is out for this game which should solidify Jeremy Lamb’s minutes, it also gives Myles Turner a 6% usage bump which feels odd, but the sample size is there if you want to go with him at a cheap price tag. From the Raptors, Pascal Siakam has seen his consistency come back as of late but we’re still not at the production we were before the injury, I’m still okay with him here. Both Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry are secondary cash options here in a pretty average matchup, both guys are getting huge minutes. I will likely go back to the Serge Ibaka well again with Marc Gasol still out, he has at least 30 DraftKings points in five straight games.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis

4-star play:  Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Serge Ibaka

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jeremy Lamb, Myles Turner, Aaron Holiday

Golden State Warriors @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Warriors, I love this spot for D’Angelo Russell as he heads back to Brooklyn, he’s a great GPP play due to the upside that he has. Draymond Green has at least 42 DraftKings points in three straight games and is a walking triple-double, I like him in this spot as well. Damion Lee is a touch too expensive for me, but the matchup is there if you want to take a GPP shot. Marquese Chriss is a guy that I will look to get to here, I’ve targeted centers against the Nets all season and I’m going to continue to here as well. Alec Burks is coming off a massive game last time out, but that was with Russell out, we can probably avoid him at an elevated price. Lastly, Glenn Robinson has scored 30+ DraftKings points in four of his last five games and getting pretty solid minutes since Cauley-Stein being traded. From the Nets, Kyrie Irving is out here meaning a bunch of usage and shots have opened up for this team. Here’s how the Nets backcourt shakes out with Kyrie off the court this season;

  • Spencer Dinwiddie – 33.1 % usage rate; 1.24 fantasy points per minute
  • Caris LeVert – 30.6% usage rate; 1.01 fantasy points per minute

Both of these guys make for pretty nice options in a great matchup against the Warriors and we finally saw a great game from LeVert last time out. Jarrett Allen is pretty volatile but he makes sense as a GPP option. You can say the same thing about Taurean Prince as well.

5-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Spencer Dinwiddie

4-star play:  Draymond Green, Marquese Chriss, Caris LeVert, Glenn Robinson, Alec Burks

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Damion Lee, Alec Burks, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince

Orlando Magic @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Magic, Nikola Vucevic should have no issue doing what he wants on a weak frontcourt, he scored 41 DraftKings in this spot earlier this season. Evan Fournier has seen his price come down a good amount and is still getting 30+ minutes, I don’t hate him as a secondary cash option. Really the only other player I have interest in here is Aaron Gordon who’s coming off a big game last time out, I don’t love the matchup but you can make a case for GPPs. The same can be said for Markelle Fultz. From the Celtics, we’ve got some injury news we need to watch here as Kemba Walker is questionable, here is how the rest of team grades out with him off the court this season;

  • Jayson Tatum – 32.8% usage rate, 1.26 fantasy points per minute
  • Marcus Smart – 21.1% usage rate; 1.07 fantasy points per minute
  • Jaylen Brown – 26.% usage rate; 1.04 fantasy points per minute
  • Gordon Hayward – 22.1% usage rate; 0.98 fantasy points per minute

We will also need to keep an eye on Marcus Smart and Enes Kanter as they are both questionable. With Daniel Theis already out, Grant Williams could be in for big minutes if Kanter is out again. Really a tough team to breakdown until we know who will be available.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Celtics TBD

4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, Markelle Fultz, Celtics TBD

Deeper Value: Celtics TBD

GPP Sleeper: Terrence Ross, Celtics TBD

Atlanta Hawks @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 236.5

Vegas Spread: Min -6.0

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young is probable here and gets an elite matchup with the Wolves, he scored 57 DraftKings points on them earlier this season. John Collins has 40+ fantasy points in four straight games and a matchup against this Wolves frontcourt does not scare me. Lastly, Kevin Huerter is playing all the minutes he can handle right now, he’s a great cash option in a fast-paced game. Jeff Teague has also seen nice minutes over the past two games with Reddish, Bembry, and Hunter banged up. In a revenge game, you can make a case in deep GPPs. From the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has 50+ Draftkings points in six of his last seven games. A matchup with the Hawks is just a cherry on top, I love him in this spot. Andrew Wiggins continues to underwhelm, he’s a GPP option due to the upside that he can bring to the table. Shabazz Napier is playing great basketball right now and has scored at least 30 DraftKings points in four straight games.Lastly, I will likely fade Robert Covington as the team has basically stated that he will be traded by the Thursday trade deadline, I don’t want to be stuck with a zero. Culver and Okogie could see extended minutes if he’s off the team.

***UPDATE*** – Robert Covington has been traded to the Rockets as I write this, don’t play him. Also, the Hawks acquired Clint Capela from the Rockets, I would assume he’s not available here so it will not impact this game.

***UPDATE #2*** – Shabazz Napier was also traded to the Nuggets, do not play him. Jarrett Culver will take over a lot of the point guard duties here and becomes a great play.

5-star play: Trae Young, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jarrett Culver

4-star play:  John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Andrew Wiggins,

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jeff Teague, Jarrett Culver, Josh Okogie

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 219.5

Vegas Spread: Okc -12.0

Starting with the Cavs, Kevin Love is coming off a massive game in which he scored 63 DraftKings points in a massive 41 minutes. Tristan Thompson is questionable again if he ends up missing we could see Love get similar minutes and I would go right back to him. Collin Sexton has blossomed into a very consistent DFS producer and scored 40.3 DraftKings points on the Thunder earlier this season. I don’t love the price on Darius Garland and he is pretty up and down. Larry Nance makes sense as the last guy in type of guy especially if Thompson is out, but not someone that I’m prioritizing by any means if Thompson is in. From the Thunder, Chris Paul is in great form and has scored at least 49 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is playing big minutes as of late and is more than in play in a good matchup with the Cavs. Dennis Schroeder may be in the best form considering the price of all three of them. he has scored at least 42 DraftKings points in three straight games. Danilo Gallinari is another guy that is being floated around in trade rumors so keep an eye on him going into lock. Lastly, Steven Adams still isn’t back up to full minutes yet, so he’s a fade for me.

5-star play: Kevin Love

4-star play: Collin Sexton, Larry Nance, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chris Paul, Dennis Schroeder

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Darius Garland, Tristan Thompson, Larry Nance

Memphis Grizzlies @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 225

Vegas Spread: Dal -4.5

The big news to kick off the slate is that Luke Doncic is out for the Mavs tonight which will open up a ton of minutes and usage. With Doncic off the court here is how the team shakes out in terms of usage and production:

  • JJ Barea – 28.4% usage rate; 1.38 fantasy points per minute
  • Kristaps Porzingis – 29.2% usage rate; 1.41 fantasy points per minute
  • Tim Hardaway – 24.7% usage rate; 0.81 fantasy points per minute
  • Jalen Brunson – 22.7% usage rate; 1.06 fantasy points per minute
  • Delon Wright – 17.9% usage rate; 1.07 fantasy points per minute

Barea also left the last game very early so keep an eye on his status. Porzingis is the other big benefactor, he’s probably still too cheap with Doncic still out and in an up-tempo matchup against the Mavs. Brunson, Wright, and Seth Curry will all see a boost as well until Doncic returns.

From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has been pretty bad over his last two games and doesn’t get a great matchup here, he’s more of a GPP option. Jaren Jackson scored 32 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season, he’s a GPP play due to his volatility. Jonas Valanciunas scored 59.75 DraftKings points in his last game against the Pistons, I like going right back to him here. Lastly, Dillion Brooks has been very consistent as of late and in this spot, I like him as a secondary option. With Clarke and Jaren Jackson back I worry about the available minutes but it’s worth noting that Josh Jackson played 29 minutes last game.

5-star play: Kristaps Porzingis

4-star play:  JJ Barea, Tim Hardaway, Delon Wright, Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas, Dillion Brooks

Deeper Value: JJ Barea

GPP Sleeper: Jalen Brunson, Tim Hardaway

Denver Nuggets @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is in great form and has scored at least 69 DraftKings points in two straight games. That said, a matchup with Rudy Gobert is a tough one, although he did just score 54.5 on him last week, he’s a nice GPP play. Jamaal Murray returned last night and played just 20 minutes, I would expect him to still be limited here. Will Barton will see his minutes and production take a bit of a hit with Murray back so I’ll wait for the price to come down. The rest of this team is really just GPP plays, I do like the price on Michael Porter if he plays and is without restriction. From the Jazz, Rudy Gobert scored 43.75 DraftKings points in this spot last week and is a guy that I don’t hate getting to in GPPs. This is not a spot where I want to go to Donovan Mitchell, he really struggled in this spot when these two met last time, the Nuggets are great on defense. I do like this price on Bojan Bogdanovic, he makes sense as a GPP option and a secondary cash guy. Lastly, Mike Conley is back up to 30 minutes meaning Joe Ingles will see a bit of a hit, I like Conley between the two but neither are great plays in a tough matchup.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jamaal Murray, Will Barton, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Michael Porter

Miami Heat @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: Lac -6.5

Starting with the Heat, Jimmy Butler is coming off a great 56 point fantasy outing against the Sixers. This is a tough matchup for him as he’ll likely draw George or Kawhi defense, I like him more as a GPP guy. I do like Bam Adebayo here, the Clippers struggle with opposing centers and he has already scored 41.5 fantasy points on them this season. The rest of this team is really just GPP plays for me, my favorites being Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn with Tyler Herro out here. From the Clippers, Paul George is back up in the 30-minute range and is a nice play here, either he or Kawhi will get Jimmy Butler defense which I don’t love but I like them both here. Kawhi Leonard saw his production come back down now with George playing a bigger role in this offense, he’s still an elite option here. Both Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams are GPP guys here now that George is getting more minutes, they feel a little too expensive.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, Montrezl Harrell, Lou Williams

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Montrezl Harrell, Lou Williams, Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn
