Full Court Press:

Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 216

Vegas Spread: Nyk -2.5

This is the lone early game on the slate and is not on either main slate, so if you want to play this one you’ll have to do it in a showdown contest. That said, let’s get started with the road Bulls. Zach LaVine has actually been held to an average of 35.9 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Knicks this season, however, he probably still has the highest upside in this game. Coby White is on one hell of a heater, he has at least 42 DraftKings points in three straight games, he’s currently questionable, but if he suits up it’s tough not to like him. Thad Young has been kind of all over the place lately, but he’s shown a nice ceiling going for 40+ fantasy points a few times over the past week or so, he’s a fine option in this game. Lastly, whoever starts at center for the Bulls makes sense as a value option. From the Knicks, Julius Randle is coming off a 52 point fantasy outing last time out and is slightly cheaper than LaVine, he’s also an elite play on a slate that doesn’t have a whole lot of them. Elfrid Payton is a triple-double threat every time he takes the court, he’s a great play as well against a Bulls team that will struggle to contain him. RJ Barrett is kind of meh for me, more of a secondary play. Lastly, Mitchell Robinson might be my favorite play in this game, he has at least 30 minutes in two straight and should be able to torture this Bulls frontcourt.

5-star play: Zach LaVine, Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson

4-star play: Coby White, Elfrid Payton

Deeper Value: Bulls starting center

GPP Sleeper: Tomas Satoransky, Thad Young

Brooklyn Nets @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total: 218.5

Vegas Spread: Mia -7.0

Starting with the Nets, Kyrie is out for the season meaning Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie will run the show, both in the backcourt and in this offense. Dinwiddie is averaging 52 DraftKings points in two games against the Heat this season. He’s a very solid play here as he has a 31.8% usage rate and 1.22 fantasy points per minute with Kyrie out this season and coming off a huge game last night, he’s a great option and may avoid Butler on defense. LeVert has actually passed Dinwiddie in terms of pricing and it seems like he may be the more productive option going forward as he is coming off a 60 point fantasy game followed by a bit of a dud last time out. He has a 31% usage rate and 1.14 fantasy points per minute, that said, I prefer Dinwiddie for cash and LeVert for GPP due to volatility, but both are great options in a fast-paced game. That pretty much concludes my interest in this team outside of GPP darts on Joe Harris and Taurean Prince. From the Heat, Bam Adebayo is a great option against a pretty week frontcourt that I’ve been streaming centers against all season long. He’s averaging 43.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Nets this season, he’s an elite option. Jimmy Butler has been very solid as of late but price about where he should be, he’s averaging 42 DraftKings points per game in this spot this season, he’s another solid cash option with some GPP upside. Guys like Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, and Jae Crowder are secondary GPP plays with both Butler and Adebayo active.

5-star play: Spencer Dinwiddie, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Caris LeVert, Jimmy Butler

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Taurean Prince, Joe Harris, Kendrick Nunn, Goran Dragic, Jae Crowder

Portland Trailblazers @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 237.5

Vegas Spread: Atl -1.5

Starting with the Blazers, this is a hell of a spot for CJ McCollum. He has 50+ fantasy points in three of his last four games and is dominating usage with Lillard still hurt. With Lillard off the court this season, CJ has a 35.2% usage rate and 1.22 fantasy points per minute, he is an elite play tonight. Hassan Whiteside is right there with him, I’m going to continue to play centers against this Hawks team until they get Capela back. Whiteside has at least 48 DraftKings points in four straight games and scored 44 in this spot earlier this season. He has nearly 1.4 fantasy points per minute with Lillard off the court this season. He’s priced up, but to be honest, if he was any cheaper he would be uber chalk. Carmelo Anthony is a fine GPP option, he just makes me so nervous, he needs to shoot well in order to pay off GPP value and that’s not something I really want to go too heavy on. That said, he’s playing a ton of minutes and has a 25.3% usage rate without Lillard out there. Trevor Ariza is playing all the minutes he can handle right now and makes sense as a mid-range option. From the Hawks, this is a similarly great spot for Trae Young. He scored 65.5 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and the Blazers are playing close to zero defense. He would make for a fun run-back option with McCollum or Whiteside on the other side. John Collins has flashed his huge ceiling as of late, and attacking big men against Whiteside is something I will continue to do, I would expect his rebound equity to stay increased while Clint Capela is still sidelined and is coming off a 55 point fantasy outing last game out against the Nets. Kevin Huerter is playing all the minutes he can handle right now and makes for a great play in all formats although his price is starting to get up there.

5-star play: Trae Young, CJ McCollum, Hassan Whiteside

4-star play: John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Carmelo Anthony

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Trevor Ariza, Kevin Huerter

Indiana Pacers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Ind -8.0

Starting with the Cavaliers, Andre Drummond is questionable here, even if he plays his minutes are all over the place and just isn’t on my radar. Kevin Love’s minutes have been all over the place as well, maybe we chalk this up to a new coach, but he’s just not a guy I’m going to be targeting against an excellent defensive team. Collin Sexton is coming off a 44 point fantasy outing last night, but against the Pacers there just isn’t a lot of interest from me on this team. Tristan Thompson will likely get the start if Drummond is out, but has seen his price skyrocket, not really getting here either. Lastly, Larry Nance has at least 32 DraftKings points in two of his last three, but again, don’t love it. From the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis hasn’t been great in this spot this season, averaging just 37.3 DraftKings points in two matchups this season. Malcolm Brogdon, on the other hand, is averaging 50.3 DraftKings points in two matchups this season, I’m most likely to fall on him out of anyone in this game. Both TJ Warren and Victor Oladipo are GPP options while Myles Turner is right there with them and is in great form as of late. Overall, this just isn’t a game I like at all.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Larry Nance, Collin Sexton, Myles Turner, TJ Warren, Victor Oladipo

Los Angeles Lakers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 226.5

Vegas Spread: Lal -8.0

Starting with the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas makes sense as a secondary option because I think they’ll need his size against Davis, that said, he’s averaging just 23.7 fantasy points per game in three games against the Lakers this season. Both Jaren Jackson and Brandon Clarke will be out again for this matchup. Kyle Anderson will likely continue to start but just never a guy that I will get to, he’s torturous to watch. Dillon Brooks is playing great basketball and hasn’t really seen his price move, he’s a nice secondary option. Lastly, Ja Morant is in pretty bad form but had a bounce-back game last night against the Kings, his price has come down to a playable range again. From the Lakers, LeBron James is currently questionable for this one, if he ends up missing Anthony Davis becomes a great play again in a pace up spot for the Lakers. It’s hard to dissect this team until that LeBron news comes out, so I’ll put like this… if James plays he’s a great option, if he doesn’t I’ll go right back to the Rajon Rondo who will likely start and get all the point guard usage.

5-star play: Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Rajon Rondo (if James is out)

4-star play: Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks

Houston Rockets @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 231.5

Vegas Spread: Bos -2.0

Starting with the Rockets, James Harden scored 67 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season. The Celtics play pretty solid defense but Harden is matchup proof, and although I think he’s a space cadet for saying Giannis isn’t talented, he’s a great play here. Russell Westbrook also had a big game here going for 59.5 fantasy points and is coming off a 62 point fantasy outing last time out, he’s a great play as well although I think I would just find the extra salary for Harden. The last guy I have interest in on this team is Robert Covington who I love in this role on this team, he’ll shoot three’s and grab a bunch of boards as this team has no center. From the Celtics, Kemba Walker is still out for this team, by now you probably know these rates, but here is how this team grades out with Kemba off the court this season…

  • Jayson Tatum – 32.4% usage rate; 1.31 fpm
  • Jaylen Brown – 26.4% usage rate; 1.00 fpm
  • Marcus Smart – 20.6% usage rate; 1.05 fpm
  • Gordon Hayward – 22.1% usage rate; 0.99 fpm

These would be the guys I would have the most interest in on this team along with Daniel Theis. Tatum is my favorite option as he is in incredible form and really they type of big guy that could take advantage of the small ball that the Rockets want to run.

5-star play: James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Robert Covington, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Daniel Theis, Gordon Hayward

Orlando Magic @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Sas -3.0

Starting with the Magic, this is a spot where I will like Nikola Vucevic. The Spurs have sneakily struggled on defense all season long and Vucevic has at least 50 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. Aaron Gordon is playing great basketball as well and has scored at least 53 fantasy points in four of his last five games, a great option in a great matchup. Markelle Fultz is priced right about where he should be, I don’t see myself getting a whole lot of him on a bigger slate. Lastly, Evan Fournier makes for a nice secondary option and is in better form as of late. From the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge is still out for this team, here is how the Spurs grade out without him on the court…

  • DeMar DeRozan – 32.9% usage rate; 1.29 fpm
  • Jakob Poeltl – 13.4% usage rate; 1.13 fpm
  • Rudy Gay – 23.1% usage rate; 1.07 fpm
  • Dejounte Murray – 21.1% usage rate; 1.14 fpm

We were all Pop’d last game when Jakob Poeltl was mega chalk and then didn’t start. Lonnie Walker of all people got the start for Aldridge in that game and really didn’t do anything with those minutes. I doubt we get a starting lineup before lock, but Poeltl is an elite value if he starts and a fade if he’s coming off the bench.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon

4-star play:  Evan Fournier, DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl (if starting)

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Markelle Fultz

Golden State Warriors @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Pho -8.5

Starting with the Suns, DeAndre Ayton was one of my favorite plays last night, and he was fine, but this is another spot where he should be able to do what he likes down low. Devin Booker is the guy I want a piece of on this team, he’s averaging 47 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Warriors this season, he’s an elite GPP option. Kelly Oubre is out for this game and possibly the season meaning more minutes for guys like Mikal Bridges, Dario Saric, and Cam Johnson, none of them are really outstanding plays here. That said, Bridges is in good form and with Johnson questionable, he and Saric could be in for huge minutes. Lastly, Ricky Rubio has scored at least 45 DraftKings points in four straight games and finally feels like he’s back into form, I like going right back to him here. From the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins is expected to play here after getting late scratched last time out. He’s come down to a very playable price tag and an elite GPP option. Draymond Green’s minutes are all over the place and just not a guy I’m trusting while this team has nothing to play for. Marquese Chriss has seen his minutes come down as well, he’s more of a deep GPP option than anything. Damion Lee is really the only ancillary piece playing solid minutes right now and makes sense as a secondary option.

5-star play: DeAndre Ayton, Devin Booker

4-star play: Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Dario Saric
