Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: PHI -2.5
Kemba Walker got tossed last night, although it looks pretty unwarranted so I doubt he sees any suspension tonight, he’s in play for GPPs but I don’t love the matchup against Simmons. Gordon Hayward is also in play here, and draws a slightly better matchup, I’d slightly lean Hayward over Jaylen Brown who is also in play for GPPs. Lastly, Enes Kanter continues to play well, but Theis being back hinders his upside, but the matchup is there if he starts, as he won’t have to deal with Embiid tonight. Jayson Tatum is also in play tonight, although he tends to take a backseat in games like these, so I’d prefer any of those guys (aside from Kanter) over him. Lastly, Daniel Theis is in play for value, but his upside is limited with Kanter healthy.
Starting with the Sixers, Joel Embiid has already been ruled out after that nasty finger injury from a few nights ago. This is a major boost to the other big three, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, and Al Horford. Simmons is my favorite of the three, as the C’s don’t really have any guard that can matchup with his length, and he loves destroying the Celtics. Tobias Harris also sees a nice usage boost here (+2.5%) and will take on more of a role offensively here, which raises his ceiling. However, the biggest beneficiary of Embiid’s absence will be Al Horford as he sees a 4.5% usage increase, and we get a revenge spot against his old team who can’t defend bigs. He’s also way too cheap everywhere, but his play has justified it, but I think this is a get right matchup for him tonight.
5-star plays: Ben Simmons, Al Horford
4-star plays: Kemba Walker, Tobias Harris, Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown
Deeper Value: Enes Kanter, Josh Richardson
GPP Sleeper: None
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Detroit Pistons
Vegas Total: 220
Vegas Spread: DET -7.0
Starting with the Cavs, Kevin Love sees a really solid matchup here, and his price has come down after scoring 45 FanDuel points the other night against this same team. Tristan Thompson isn’t in great form but gets a decent matchup, but he sat last game out, so we’ll have to see if he plays here before I make him viable. If Thompson is out it puts both John Henson and Ante Zizic in play for value centers. Collin Sexton feels safer now that Jordan Clarkson is out of town, I like him for GPPs, and Darius Garland is also in play here, as his minutes should be blowout proof as well. Kevin Porter Jr. is also in play here for value on a small slate as he’s been playing heavier minutes.
From the Pistons, Andre Drummond is a premier play here as Blake has basically been shutdown for the year so Drummond will handle the load offensively, his matchup becomes that much better if Thompson sits as well. Derrick Rose has been playing well recently, and he gets a solid matchup here, and that will be boosted with Luke Kennard out again tonight, and Morris is out as well so we have some value opening up here from the Pistons in the form of Christian Wood and Sekou Doumbaya, although Doumbaya’s price has come up across the industry. Langston Galloway makes sense as a deeper GPP play as well, but he is risky as he is scoring dependent but with Kennard out he sees a nice boost.
5-star play: Kevin Love, Andre Drummond
4-star play: Derrick Rose, Tristan Thompson (if he plays), Collin Sexton
Deeper Value: Darius Garland, Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr., Langston Galloway
GPP Sleeper: Christian Wood

Portland Trailblazers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: POR -2.5
From the Blazers, this is a spot that Damian Lillard should be able to take advantage of the lack of defense from this Wolves team who have struggled to defend the PG spot all year long. Carmelo Anthony is also firmly in play here for GPPs, as he is a little scoring dependent but this is a matchup he can take advantage of. Hassan Whiteside is smashing everyone in sight lately, and I like him in this spot tonight whether or not KAT plays. CJ McCollum is a guy I never really get to when Lillard is active but I don’t hate him as a secondary guy here, but he sees the biggest usage dip since Melo joined the team. Kent Bazemore is also in play here for value, as he’ll start with Hood out. Anfernee Simons also makes sense for value here, as he came out and started the 2nd half of their last game and he’s dirt cheap.
From the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns is currently questionable for this game, so if he is out Gorgui Dieng is firmly in play here as he should draw the start as well, and the matchup is there as Whiteside doesn’t play defense, at all. Andrew Wiggins has found some consistency this season, he’s in a great spot here as well especially if KAT ends up sitting as he’ll dominate usage with the starters, although the ceiling hasn’t been there lately. Jarrett Culver has shouldered some of the load offensively since KAT went down, and he’s been playing great over the last week, so I definitely have interest if he starts again. Jeff Teague has been playing really well lately as well, and he’s an even better play if KAT ends up sitting. Lastly, Robert Covington is a fine GPP option to fill in the last of your lineups, but he’s seen a reduction in minutes so he is risky, I’ll like him more if KAT and Vonleh are out, as it’ll lock his minutes in the 30ish range. Shabazz Napier is also in play here, as he’s been starting over Teague and draws a favorable matchup against Lillard.
5-star play: Damian Lillard, Hassan Whiteside
4-star play: Shabazz Napier, Jarrett Culver, CJ McCollum, Andrew Wiggins
Deeper Value: Jarrett Culver, Anfernee Simons, Kent Bazemore
GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Culver
Houston Rockets @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Vegas Total: TBD
Vegas Spread: HOU -2.5
From the Rockets, James Harden and Russell Westbrook are both elite plays here, but its Russ’ first game back in OKC since getting traded, so I think that he’s going to want to ball out here. He has legit 60+ FP upside here and he’s a bit underpriced everywhere. It also looks like Harden will be the lesser owned of the two, which is something you can take advantage of in GPPs. Clint Capela has been smashing the past few games as well, but I don’t love the matchup for him against Adams here, and Russ being back will cut into his usage. PJ Tucker is always in play for GPPs, but he’ll have to contribute with his peripheral stats to make value here. Ben McLemore and Danuel House both make sense as lineup filling value plays as well, House moreso as he tends to start.
From the Thunder, Chris Paul continues to be a consistent producer and makes a lot of sense for cash games here, and he’ll go a little overlooked, but being traded for Russ this past offseason should light a little fire under him for this game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in a great spot here tonight, as Gallo has been ruled out, and SGA is the biggest beneficiary of that offensively here, along with Schroeder. Steven Adams should be a solid play here as well, and his price hasn’t risen much despite playing really well the past week but the matchup against Capela is not an easy one. Lastly, Dennis Schroeder makes sense here as well if he plays, as Gallinari is out again. Darius Bazley makes for a deep GPP value play as well with Gallinari out.
5-star play: Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
4-star play: Chris Paul, Clint Capela, Steven Adams, Dennis Schroeder
Deeper Value: Danuel House, Darius Bazley
GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroeder
