Welcome to the Core 4! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article throughout the day as news breaks. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Purpose of the Core 4: These four players are guys that I want to lock into my cash game lineups and if doing multi-entry, using the Domination Station lock them in or set high exposure percentages to them. These are players that I see as underpriced, in great matchups, in play because of injuries, increased usage, etc. I also need to mention that these plays are normally geared toward Draftkings pricing and scoring, I’m not a huge fan of NBA for Fanduel, so if you see my list has three small forwards or two centers, etc. it’s because of the multi-position eligibility on Draftkings. With that said, let’s jump right into it!

Ish Smith (PG) – $3,600
This one is pretty plain and simple and I’m not going to get cute here so the write-up should be pretty cut and dry. Isaiah Thomas has been ruled out for tonight’s game which will open up minutes for Ish. Thomas missed last night’s game which led Smith to start and play 34 minutes on his way to 33.25 Draftkings points. Don’t get cute here, Ish is a great value option that will allow us to pay up elsewhere.
Jimmy Butler (SG/SF) – $8,100
On the other side of Ish Smith will be Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. This game has a huge 233 implied total and Butler is in great form, he has at least 55 Draftkings points in two straight games. Justise Winslow is currently questionable while Goran Dragic has been ruled out already. With Goran Dragic off the court this season, Butler has 1.23 fantasy points per minute and should see 35ish minutes here. Not to mention that the Wizards rank 25th in defense against opposing shooting guards. I love the price on Butler here and he is part of my core on this slate.

Larry Nance Jr. (PF/C) – $5,100
This play is assuming that Kevin Love is out tonight, ultimately if Love is available to be sure to look for an update on the core, I will likely have a swap. However, Love missed shootaround this morning due to illness which makes me think he may sit this one out. With Love out, Nance will slide into the starting lineup against a Magic team that is very thin in the frontcourt with Nikola Vucevic out. Not to mention that he has 30+ Draftkings points in four of his last five games. Love him here.
Kawhi Leonard (SF/PF) – $8,400
As I mentioned in the Full Court Press article, this is my favorite game of the night. It has a 232 implied total and a 3.5 spread against the Milwaukee Bucks. This is an Eastern Conference Finals rematch for Kawhi Leonard and he just feels too cheap here. This is a +2.1 pace up spot for the Clippers and Kawhi has a 34.7% usage rate on the season. At $8.4k he just needs to be average to hit value, the GPP ceiling is huge here. With these four guys as core plays that leaves you with $6.2k left per player to fill out the rest of your lineup. There is a very real way to roster Giannis on the other part of this game and run it back in hopes this thing really goes bonkers. I love this core for tonight, good luck!
