Welcome to the Core 4! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article throughout the day as news breaks. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Purpose of the Core 4: These four players are guys that I want to lock into my cash game lineups and if doing multi-entry, using the Domination Station lock them in or set high exposure percentages to them. These are players that I see as underpriced, in great matchups, in play because of injuries, increased usage, etc. I also need to mention that these plays are normally geared toward Draftkings pricing and scoring, I’m not a huge fan of NBA for Fanduel, so if you see my list has three small forwards or two centers, etc. it’s because of the multi-position eligibility on Draftkings. With that said, let’s jump right into it!

Joel Embiid (C) – $9,700
What’s not to love about Joel Embiid here? He goes on the road to travel to Washington where he will take on a Wizards team that will be without big man Thomas Bryant and potentially Mo Wagner leaving them with little to no size in the frontcourt. Even with Bryant and Wagner active the Wizards ranked 26th in defense against opposing centers on the season, this will presumably get worse. Not to mention that Embiid feels too cheap here at sub $10k and has 1.53 fantasy points per minute on the season. He’s scored 55+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games, I like him quite a bit here.
Pascal Siakam (PF/C) – $8,400
I love attacking teams that get the Houston Rockets defense as they are one of the worst in the league. Not to mention that this is a pretty sizable pace-up game for the Raptors at +4.2. The Rockets rank 29th in defense against opposing PF/C on the season and Siakam has shown that he can do it all for this team. He has a usage rate of 29% on the season and in this matchup, I can see a 50 burger in his future, I’m all in on some Siakam tonight.

Ricky Rubio (PG) – $6,200
This game should be one of the faster, high-scoring ones on the slate, as Phoenix travels to New Orleans to matchup up with the Pelicans. The Pelicans are one of the faster teams in the league making this a pace-up spot for the Suns at +2.0. They have also been very bad against opposing point guards on the season which draws me toward a cheap Ricky Rubio here. He’s coming off an off game but I’m willing to buy low on him right now, sign me up.
JJ Redick (SG/SF) – $4,800
We’ll try and get a little value here, as there isn’t a whole lot of obvious value options this morning, but I like going back and attacking this PHO/NO game which has an implied total of 233. Redick has played very well as of late, scoring at least 25 Draftkings points in eight of his last ten games and even flashing some ceiling games in there. Using Redick as the last piece of our core gives us $5225 per player which is more than do-able considering there will likely be more value that opens up as the day moves on. Get yourself some Redick here!
