Full Court Press:

New Orleans Pelicans @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 227.5

Vegas Spread: OKC -3.0

It kinda stinks that this game isn’t on the main slate, this game has a huge total and should be a highly competitive one. It should be fun for showdown though so let’s dive in. Starting with the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram continues to prove that he is the go-to option on this team right now. He has a 27.6% usage rate on the season and is averaging just under 50 Draftkings points per game. That said, Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball draw the best matchups as the Thunder rank 24th against opposing point guards/shooting guards, all three of these guys are great plays on the showdown slate. Derrick Favors is doubtful here which opens up some nice value in Jahlil Okafor who played 34 minutes and scored 38 Draftkings points filling in for Favors last game. From the Thunder, many of you know that I’m a huge Shai Gilgeous-Alexander fan for DFS, and this is a nice spot for him. The Pelicans rank dead last in defense against opposing point guards, which should really put Chris Paul into play as well. Danilo Gallinari has been right around the 25 Draftkings point mark in all his games this year, I don’t love him here but I don’t hate him either. Lastly, Steven Adams is questionable, if he’s out you can lock and load Nerlens Noel.

5-star plays: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Jahlil Okafor, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star plays: Jrue Holiday, Chris Paul, Danilo Gallinari

Deeper Value: Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel (if Adams out)

GPP Sleeper: Jrue Holiday, Chris Paul

Brooklyn Nets @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 224

Vegas Spread: Bkn -1.5

Starting with the Nets, Kyrie Irving is the man here, he was fairly high owned against the Rockets last night but didn’t disappoint. He’s got a massive 35.8% usage rate on the season and his price isn’t reflecting that. Caris LeVert has been a bit all over the place and I don’t love the price, so I’ll reserve him for higher paced matchups. Spencer Dinwiddie came out with a dud last night in a great spot but will look to bounce back here at potentially lower ownership, he’s not a bad GPP play. The Nets will need the size of Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan to help contain Drummond, so I don’t hate them if you happen to fall on them as well. From the Pistons, there are two guys that have been continually crushing this season and they are Andre Drummond and Derrick Rose. Drummond is averaging 54.4 Draftkings points per game this season and streaming big men against the Nets is going to be profitable. I love him here. Derrick Rose is a guy that I’ve been getting a lot of because he simply just takes over in the second unit of this team. He has a huge 34.8% usage rate when he’s on the court, I love him in this spot.

5-star play: Kyrie Irving, Andre Drummond, Derrick Rose

4-star play: Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie

Deeper Value: Jarrett Allen

GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Allen, DeAndre Jordan, Luke Kennard, Christian Wood

Denver Nuggets @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 204.5

Vegas Spread: Den -4.0

I can already tell you I won’t be getting to this game a whole lot, you don’t see many games with this low of a total and it is a slate low. However, we still need to go through, maybe there’s a diamond in the rough. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic looked dreadful in their last game and will look to bounce back here in a tough matchup against Vucevic. I don’t love the price on him, but he’s always in play for GPPs. The only other player I would have relative interest in is Jamal Murray, but he’s just too expensive for this matchup. From the Magic, it’s really just Nikola Vucevic here for me in GPPs, this is a tough matchup for them as a team.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Nikola Jokic, Nikola Vucevic

Deeper Value: Markelle Fultz

GPP Sleeper: Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Nikola Vucevic

Phoenix Suns @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -2.0

Starting with the Suns, to no surprise Devin Booker leads this team in usage at 27.6% and the Grizzlies rank 23rd in defense against opposing shooting guards, he’s a solid play here. Kelly Oubre continues to play well and should get 30 minutes in this matchup, he’s priced about where he should be, but if you need a guy in that price range he makes sense. With DeAndre Ayton out for a while, the Suns have turned the keys to Aron Baynes and Dario Saric, both are very nice plays against this Grizzlies team and you can even get a little GPP value with Frank Kaminsky if you need it. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has been kind of meh starting the season. He has one game over 50 Draftkings points, but the rest of his games he was held under 30. I’ll wait until he figures some things out to target him in cash games. Jaren Jackson is a GPP play, as usual, I won’t touch him in cash games because he can’t play defense without fouling out in 10 minutes. Jonas Valanciunas’s minutes have increased slightly in every game this season, I would expect him to be around the 25-minute mark in this one. He has an elite 1.42 fantasy points per minute on the season, tough not to like him in this matchup if he’s going to get the minutes.

5-star play: Devin Booker, Dario Saric

4-star play: Ja Morant, Aron Baynes, Jaren Jackson, Jonas Valanciunas

Deeper Value: Frank Kaminsky

GPP Sleeper: Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson, Frank Kaminsky

Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -4.5

Starting with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam is averaging 46.5 Draftkings points per game this season and I would expect him to get a lot of Giannis on defense which isn’t ideal, but I think he’s good enough to withstand it and is averaging over 40 Draftkings points per game against the Bucks since last season. Kyle Lowry is priced where he should be in this matchup, I don’t love the matchup against Eric Bledsoe but he should be able to get you 35-40 Draftkings points and pay off his salary. Fred VanVleet continues to put up numbers and killed this team in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, I like him here and should be able to knock down a few triples. Serge Ibaka is fine, but nobody that I’m seeking out and OG Anunoby makes sense as a nice value option. From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the team with a 32% usage rate and is averaging nearly 60 Draftkings points per game on the season, he’s an elite play as always. Khris Middleton only played 20 minutes against the Magic which was blowout induced, I would expect him to bounce back here. Eric Bledsoe is looking like he’s starting to come around, but this is a difficult matchup for him, I’ll wait this one out outside of GPPs. Lastly, George Hill continues to pay off his low salary, I like him as a value guy off the bench.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe

Deeper Value: George Hill

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 225

Vegas Spread: Was -2.0

You don’t oftentimes see the Wizards favored in games, yet here we are. This is partly because the Timberwolves play absolutely no defense and oh yeah… they’ll be without Karl-Anthony Towns as he has been suspended for fighting. Starting with the Timberwolves, as mentioned, KAT will be out here so Noah Vonleh and Jordan Bell step in as great value options. Of the two I would much prefer Vonleh, simply because I think he’s better. With KAT off the court, we should see much higher usage rates for Andrew Wiggins (excuse me while I puke in my mouth) and Jeff Teague. Both are great plays against a bad Wizards team. From the Wizards, Bradley Beal has a 32% usage rate on the season and is averaging over 50.6 Draftkings points per game, he’s a great play here. I love Thomas Bryant as well against these backup big men for the Twolves, he’s priced up but he’s had some big games this season. Rui Hachimura is in play as well and should benefit from KAT being out, he’s played well in his rookie season. Isaiah Thomas is back in our lives as he is the point guard that I want from this team, he has a 27% usage rate on the season and controls the game in the second unit.

5-star play: Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague, Noah Vonleh, Bradley Beal, Thomas Bryant

4-star play: Rui Hachimura, Isaiah Thomas, Jordan Bell

Deeper Value: Noah Vonleh, Jordan Bell

GPP Sleeper: Rui Hachimura, Isaiah Thomas, Ish Smith

Philadelphia 76ers @ Portland Trail Blazers

Vegas Total: 219.0

Vegas Spread: Por -1.5

Starting with the Sixers, they will be without Joel Embiid as he is also suspended for fighting with KAT. This will open up usage all throughout the offense and the starting five are all in play here. Especially guys like Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, and Al Horford who have shown great ceilings with him out. Josh Richardson is questionable here so keep an eye on the Breaking News Tab for news to come on him. Matisse Thybulle and Kyle O’Quinn should soak up the center minutes and make sense as value options. From the Blazers, it’ll be the Damian Lillard show as he has played at least 38 minutes in all but one of their games this season. CJ McCollum has a pretty nice 29% usage rate on the season and should be able to hit value here, I don’t hate him as a play to round out your lineup. Hassan Whiteside is questionable here as well so we will need to keep an eye on him, if he’s out the Blazers will be very small and may need to run Skal Labissiere out for big minutes.

5-star play: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Damian Lillard

4-star play: Josh Richardson Matisse Thybulle, CJ McCollum

Deeper Value: Kyle O’Quinn, Skal Labissiere (If Whiteside is out)

GPP Sleeper: Kyle O’Quinn, Skal Labissiere (If Whiteside is out)

Charlotte Hornets @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: GS -1.0

Who would have thought that this game would be a one-point spread coming into the season? The Hornets are led by Terry Rozier who has played 30+ minutes in three straight games and if he’s going to get that kind of run I’ll be all over him this season. PJ Washington is also playing big minutes, he may get some Draymond Green defense in this one, but it’s not something that I’m all that worried about. Cody Zeller should be able to do whatever he wants in the frontcourt and has scored at least 30 Draftkings points in every game this season, he’s a great cash game center option. From the Warriors, they are just a mess right now with Steph Curry out for at least a few months. I hesitate to play anyone from this team right now because they are so bad, but I would tend to think they give D’Angelo Russell the keys and kind of start showcasing him now for when the deadline comes. He should have all the usage in this offense next to guys like Jordan Poole, Glenn Robinson, and Willie Cauley-Stein all of which are GPP plays. These value guys really didn’t do a whole lot last night but are still fine as GPP salary savers. Draymond Green is uncertain for this game as he was injured last night, I wouldn’t be surprised if he sat this one out which would open up even more minutes for guys like Eric Paschall and Omari Spellman.

5-star play: Terry Rozier, Cody Zellner, D’Angelo Russell

4-star play: PJ Washington

Deeper Value: Jordan Poole, Glenn Robinson, Willie Cauley-Stein, Eric Paschall, Omari Spellman

GPP Sleeper:Jordan Poole, Glenn Robinson, Willie Cauley-Stein, Eric Paschall, Omari Spellman
