Full Court Press:

Philadelphia 76ers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 214.5

Vegas Spread: Phi -7.0

Starting with the 76ers, Joel Embiid has been over 50 Draftkings points in two straight games and the Cavs are one of the worse teams in the league against opposing big men. At this price, it’s hard not to like him here. Ben Simmons is a guy that I’ll look to for cash games, as the ceiling really isn’t there with Embiid in the lineup due to the firepower that this offense has. Tobias Harris and Al Horford are also solid, as mentioned, Cleveland struggles against big men and these guys are consistent 30 point Draftkings threats. Josh Richardson has turned it up a notch and now has at least 30 Draftkings points in three of his last four games. From Cleveland, it’s really just the Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson show for me. Kevin Love gets a very difficult matchup and put up 31.5 Draftkings points against the Sixers earlier this year, but at his price, you’re going to need more than that. Tristan Thompson continues to be a double-double machine and should get 35+ minutes here to help guard Embiid. Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, and Darius Garland clog up the backcourt and are all GPP plays.

5-star plays: Joel Embiid

4-star plays: Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, Tristan Thompson, Kevin Love

Deeper Value: Darius Garland

GPP Sleeper: Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, Darius Garland

Boston Celtics @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 218.5

Vegas Spread: Bos -2.5

Starting with the Celtics, Kemba Walker has 45+ Draftkings points in three of his past four games and has a 28.5% usage rate and gets a matchup against a weak defense against opposing guards, tough not to like him here. Ever since Gordon Hayward went down Jaylen Brown has set the world on fire and now has 40+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games, his price is getting up there which worries me but he’s solid for GPPs at the very least. Jayson Tatum hasn’t performed as we may have thought he might with Hayward off the court but he does feel too cheap here. Marcus Smart has scored 30+ Draftkings points in four straight games and has his minutes solidified without Hayward, I like him for cash games more than I do GPP. Lastly, Enes Kanter is back which muddies up this frontcourt, both he and Daniel Theis are GPP guys until Kanter gets back to full minutes. From the Kings, I hesitate to play Buddy Hield in cash games but he feels too cheap here and on a two-game early slate you could do worse. Bogdan Bogdanovic has stepped up in a big way with De’Aaron Fox out of the lineup and has scored 33+ Draftkings points in four straight games, I like him here. Harrison Barnes and Richaun Holmes are both solid plays as well, I would prefer Barnes for cash and Holmes for GPP if you need to make that decision.

5-star play: Kemba Walker, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes

Deeper Value: Daniel Theis

GPP Sleeper: Richaun Holmes, Corey Joseph

Washington Wizards @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: Orl -6.5

Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal has two straight 60+ Draftkings outings and has a 34.9% usage rate on the season. He’s taking over this offense right now and it’s hard not to like him in that case. Thomas Bryant has been pretty up-and-down lately, but the Magic aren’t exactly showstoppers against opposing big men, I just wish he was cheaper. Isaiah Thomas has a 28% usage rate on the season and is basically the one handling the ball when Beal is not, he’s pretty scoring dependant, however, so I’ll save him for GPPs. Mo Wagner and Rui Hachimura are both GPP mid-range plays if you need help getting a cheaper big man. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has a pretty solid 1.27 fantasy points per minute this season and gets a matchup with a Wizards team that seems to have no interest in playing defense, I love this spot for Vuc. Aaron Gordon has played well over the past two games, but really hasn’t hit his shots, if he can start knocking down some shots he could be in for a ceiling game soon, however, the return of Jonathan Isaac muffles that a bit. Speaking of Jonathan Isaac, he’s questionable for this game, if he plays he could have his minutes monitored and if he’s out I like Gordon that much more. Lastly, Evan Fournier has 39+ Draftkings points in three of four games and makes sense in a pace-up spot for this team.

5-star play: Bradley Beal, Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Thomas Bryant, Isaiah Thomas, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier

Deeper Value: Markelle Fultz

GPP Sleeper: Mo Wagner, Rui Hachimura, Isaiah Thomas

Denver Nuggets @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 211.5

Vegas Spread: Den -6.5

This is one of the slower games on the slate and it’s not due to Memphis… Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic just hasn’t seemed right to start out the season, I think there are better higher-priced options to go to on this slate. Will Barton is questionable here if he plays I like him as a GPP option, and if he’s out it gives a bump to Jamal Murray and Gary Harris who are both in play regardless if he plays due to the pace-up spot. Paul Millsap has scored 30+ Draftkings points in his last four games, I don’t know that I love the matchup but the price is pretty nice on him. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant now has 40+ Draftkings points in his last two games to go along with his 33% usage rate on the season, I think he’s a very solid option here. Jonas Valanciunas touched 30 minutes for the first time this season in his last start which is very encouraging, but this is a difficult matchup up against Nikola Jokic, I may wait for a better spot to play him but he’s in play for GPPs at the very least. The rest of this team is kind of secondary GPP guys that you use to fill out the rest of your lineup with guys like Jaren Jackson Jr, Jae Crowder, Dillion Brooks, and Brandon Clarke.

5-star play:  Ja Morant, Nikola Jokic (upside play)

4-star play: Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, Will Barton, Paul Millsap, Jonas Valanciunas

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Nikola Jokic, Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, Jae Crowder, Dillion Brooks, Brandon Clarke

Golden State Warriors @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

This game should be a great game for DFS once we figure out who’s all playing. From the Warriors, D’Angelo Russell is now out for a few weeks after getting hurt in the last game which should open up a ton of minutes and usage in the backcourt. With Russell off the court, this season Alec Burks and Ky Bowman become my favorite plays and have shown they can put up big games when given the opportunity. Burks sees a 24% usage rate while Bowman isn’t quite there but we’ve seen take control especially with a good matchup as we have here. Draymond Green isn’t really a big usage guy anyway so I don’t know that this news really impacts him all that much, it may just give him a few extra shots in the lane. Lastly, Willie Cauley-Stein’s minutes are getting back up near 30 which is nice to see, I like him in this matchup against an undersized Pelicans frontcourt. From the Pelicans, I mean the whole damn team is questionable right now which makes it very difficult to decipher what to do. I’m going to throw my hands up on this one, once we get news on these guys be sure to monitor the Breaking News Tab and utilize the Slack chat for help on this situation because it is a mess.

5-star play: Alec Burks, Ky Bowman, (TBD from the Pels)

4-star play: Draymond Green, Willie Cauley-Stein, Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall, (TBD from the Pels)

Deeper Value: Glenn Robinson III, Jordan Poole, (TBD from the Pels)

GPP Sleeper: TBD

Atlanta Hawks @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young has scored 60+ Draftkings points in three of his last five games. The Hawks will need him in this game to keep it close, but this isn’t all that bad of matchup for him, if he hits his shots here he should be in good shape. Jabari Parker continues to play well and is actually showing some consistency for the first time in his career, this is a difficult matchup for him as well but I don’t mind it for GPPs. You could make a case for Alex Len here but he screams foul trouble against Anthony Davis. The rest of this team is a wash for me, not really anyone that I’m interested in against this tough Clippers team. From the Lakers, Anthony Davis is probable so we don’t need to worry about that situation (I hope). Both he and LeBron James have usage rates over 30% and will have no problem eating this Hawks team alive, they are both elite plays. Kyle Kuzma is a fine GPP option, but the rest of this team doesn’t really interest me.

5-star play: Trae Young, LeBron James, Anthony Davis

4-star play: Jabari Parker, Kyle Kuzma

Deeper Value: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

GPP Sleeper: Rajon Rondo, Kyle Kuzma, JaVale McGee, Alex Len
