Welcome to the Core 4! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article throughout the day as news breaks. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Purpose of the Core 4: These four players are guys that I want to lock into my cash game lineups and if doing multi-entry, using the Domination Station lock them in or set high exposure percentages to them. These are players that I see as underpriced, in great matchups, in play because of injuries, increased usage, etc. I also need to mention that these plays are normally geared toward Draftkings pricing and scoring, I’m not a huge fan of NBA for Fanduel, so if you see my list has three small forwards or two centers, etc. it’s because of the multi-position eligibility on Draftkings. With that said, let’s jump right into it!
Before I get started, make sure to check out the latest new DFS website. SuperDraft is an innovative new DFS site that does not have salaries but instead uses a multiplier system and better yet, THEY HAVE LATE SWAP! Check out more on how it works below!

Trae Young (PG) – $8,900
This Hawks/Rockets game has the highest implied game total on this short slate at a massive 236.0. Both of these teams are fast-paced and play very little defense which is always good for DFS production. The price on Young is what stood out to me, at under $9k he is simply too cheap. He has a 36.5% usage rate on the season to go along with 1.4 fantasy points per minute. He’s averaging 48.9 Draftkings points per game on the season and has 55+ in three of his last four. In an up-tempo game that should include a lot of scoring, I love Trae Young at this price tag.
Ben McLemore (SG/SF) – $3,500
McLemore is going to be your value of the day, at least so far. Eric Gordon has already been ruled out and Danuel House is listed as doubtful which opens the door for McLemore to start and get 30+ minutes against a bad defense at a minimal price tag. He’s not a huge usage guy but it’s tough to be when you have James Harden and Russell Westbrook on your team. This is mostly a price play combined with a good matchup, also being blowout proof, but he makes a lot of things work on this slate.

Robin Lopez (C) – $3,000
As a wise man once said… “Where the turds at?!”. We’ve got ourselves a minimum priced big man that I love tonight. His brother, Brook Lopez, has been ruled out for tonight’s game which will pave the way for Robin to start tonight. I would guess he gets around 25 minutes in this one. He’s not a big usage guy, but he gets a great matchup against the Charlotte Hornets who are ranked 29th in defense against opposing big men on the season. His price makes playing multiple studs work on this slate, I’ll be all over my man Robin tonight.
Russell Westbrook (PG) – $9,300
I love the idea of running Trae Young back with either Westbrook or Harden here. The reason I’m going Westbrook is that he feels too cheap and there are ways to jam him in with Giannis and Trae Young to fully go stars and scrubs. The Hawks rank 28th in defense against opposing point guards on the season to go along with Westbrook’s 34.5% usage rate. He doesn’t have quite the usage that James Harden has but that’s baked into the price, I like Westy quite a bit here.
