Full Court Press:

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: 225

Vegas Spread: Phi -6.5

The first game of the slate opens up with high implied game total. Starting with Minnesota, for some reason Karl-Anthony Towns’ price continues to come down for some reason and is now below $10k on Draftkings. He has averaged 68.3 Draftkings points this season to go along with a 30.4% usage rate. The Embiid matchup doesn’t really scare me either, I’ll go right back to Towns with confidence here. I’m normally not a big Andrew Wiggins fan, but he’s been surprisingly consistent around 30 Draftkings points this season, he’s not a terrible play but I’ll reserve him for GPPs. Jeff Teague finally had a breakout game after struggling for the first two games. Ben Simmons and really this whole team is much bigger and longer than him, I can see him struggling in this game. Robert Covington only shot 3 for 10 last game but still came away with 33 Draftkings points, he’s the type of guy who can carry his weight with peripheral stats, he’s a solid play in up-tempo games like this one. From the Sixers, Joel Embiid is coming off of a huge 66 Draftkings point game and the Towns matchup doesn’t worry me here, he’s an elite play. Ben Simmons feels a bit overpriced for me here with everyone healthy, he’s more of a GPP play for me. Tobias Harris feels priced right where he should be, in a fast-paced game he makes a lot of sense. Al Horford and Josh Richardson are both secondary cash plays if you happen to fall on him.

5-star plays: Karl-Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid

4-star plays: Andrew Wiggins, Robert Covington, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Josh Richardson

Deeper Value: Shabazz Napier

GPP Sleeper: Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague

New York Knicks @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 208.5

Vegas Spread: Orl -9.0

This game has an incredibly low total so going here may be difficult, but we’ll see what we can find. Starting with the Knicks, Julius Randle continues to play heavy minutes but will get a difficult matchup with Nikola Vucevic here. RJ Barrett is playing even more minutes than Randle which is saying a lot, he is up near 40 minutes in each game. I love the price tag on him here and think he’s a very solid play. Bobby Portis dropped a 50 burger in the last game but the inconsistency of his minutes makes him more of a GPP play. Mitchell Robinson is an elite point per minute player at 1.57 fpm. The issue is he isn’t getting a ton of minutes, but even in short minutes he’s putting up big numbers, he’s a solid cash play and an elite GPP play. The rest of this team is GPP plays at best for me. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has a very solid 25.6% usage rate and gets a pretty solid matchup against a Knicks team that doesn’t play a lot of defense. Aaron Gordon is the type of guy I want to play in up and down games that have a high tempo, this game is the opposite, therefore not a guy I love here and he’s been terrible this season if I’m being honest. Jonathan Isaac is playing better than Gordon on the season and is playing nice minutes, he makes some sense as a cash play. Fultz makes for a solid value play, but I don’t want to go too crazy with the rest of this lineup considering how slow it’s expected to be.

5-star play: RJ Barrett, Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Jonathan Isaac

Deeper Value: Markelle Fultz

GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson, Aaron Gordon

Chicago Bulls @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Chi -1.0

Starting with the Bulls, Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine are the two studs on this team and almost every night one of them will have a big night but it’s proven hard to pick which one. That said, the Cavs rank 27th against opposing shooting guards on the season, so my thinking would be to prefer LaVine over Markkanen here. Coby White has come down to Earth in his past two games and continues to see his minutes falling, I’m going to jump off here until I see him in better form. Wendell Carter Jr. had a big outing in his last time out and gets a fairly average matchup against Tristan Thompson, he makes sense as a GPP option. From the Cavs, both Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are averaging over 40 Draftkings points per game and both make sense as cash plays against a bad defensive team in Chicago. Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, and Darius Garland are all cutting into each other’s minutes and production so they’re GPP guys for me.

5-star play: Zach LaVine, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson

4-star play: Lauri Markkanen

Deeper Value: Jordan Clarkson

GPP Sleeper: Wendell Carter Jr., Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, Darius Garland

Detroit Pistons @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 210

Vegas Spread: Tor -8.5

We have yet another slow game here. From the Pistons, really the only guy you can feel comfortable rostering on a nightly basis is Andre Drummond and he draws a very difficult matchup against Marc Gasol, he’s more of a GPP play for me on this slate. Derrick Rose has played phenomenal this season but is coming off an off game last time out. I love using Rose this season, he gets all the usage in the second unit, 36% to be exact. Luke Kennard now becomes safer with Reggie Jackson ruled out here, he makes sense as a cash play in this price range. Christian Wood’s minutes keep going up and put up a double-double last time out, he’s a GPP play simply because I’m not trusting his minutes at the moment. From the Raptors, we almost have $9k Pascal Siakam and he has a 31.7% usage rate on the season, I’ll continue to play him until he’s around $10k. Kyle Lowry keeps playing well and getting a ton of minutes near 40 almost every game, I like him in this matchup as well as Fred VanVleet off the bench. OG Anunboy has come out and filled in for Kawhi very nicely, he’s playing an average of 34 minutes per game this season. He has just a 13% usage rate but is over 0.85 fantasy points per minute.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Derrick Rose

4-star play: Kyle Lowry, Andre Drummond, Luke Kennard, OG Anunboy

Deeper Value: Christian Wood

GPP Sleeper: Christian Wood

Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Mil -2.0

From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the man on this team and has a 33.9% usage rate on the season, this is a phenomenal spot here for him. He’s scored an average of 61 Draftkings points per game this season. Khris Middleton is doing what he always does and is getting his typical 35 Draftkings points per game. Eric Bledsoe’s minutes are a bit all over the place but I would think he gets run tonight a good amount to guard Kemba Walker. I like this matchup for him. George Hill is a guy I’ve been playing a lot of and is great off the bench at near minimum price if you need a value option, he’s also coming off a massive 38 Draftkings point outing. From the Celtics, Kemba Walker followed up his stinker in game one with two back to back nice games and will have to score here to keep the Celtics in this game. Jayson Tatum has played great this season but I would expect Giannis to guard him on defense so I’ll stay away here. Jaylen Brown is another guy that struggled in the opener but has played well since. He seems to always play well against the Bucks so I like him here. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Tab in this game with Daniel Theis listed as questionable, if he’s out Robert Williams and Grant Williams become nice value plays.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, George Hill, Kemba Walker

4-star play: Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez

Deeper Value: George Hill, Wesley Matthews, Robert and Grant Williams

GPP Sleeper: Jayson Tatum

Indiana Pacers @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 220

Vegas Spread: Bkn -3.5

Starting with the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon continues to crush with his new team. He’s playing around 35 minutes per game and averaging 48.9 Draftkings points per game this season. Kyrie and the Nets don’t play a whole lot of defense, I like the price tag on Brogdon here. Domantas Sabonis is another great play here, I’ll be streaming big men against this team all season and this won’t be any different, the same can be said for Myles Turner. The rest of this team like Jeremy Lamb and TJ Warren are more GPP plays than anything for me here. From the Nets, Kyrie Irving has an elite usage rate at 37.5% and continues to crush as he is averaging over 60 Draftkings points per game. I don’t love the matchup here but in a fast-paced game, I’m willing to chase that usage rate. He’s really the only guy I feel comfortable playing for cash games, guys like Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen just don’t do it for me.

5-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, Kyrie Irving

4-star play: Caris LeVert

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince, TJ Warren, Jeremy Lamb

Portland Trail Blazers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 223.0

Vegas Spread: Por -1.0

Starting with Portland, I love this price on Damian Lillard in an up-paced matchup. CJ McCollum is similar to Andrew Wiggins and just a guy I seemingly never get to unless there’s an injury. Hassan Whiteside draws an incredibly tough assignment here with Steven Adams and will likely be a fade for me everywhere other than deep GPPs. Rodney Hood has played at least 30 minutes in each game this season and makes sense as a value play. Mario Hezonja and Kent Bazemore should continue to see extra minutes with Zach Collins out as well. From the Thunder, I’m just going to continue to play Shai Gilgeous-Alexander until he’s like $8k, he just does so much that is great for fantasy production. Similarly, I’ll wait for Chris Paul to either figure it out or drop $1k, he’s just too expensive right now. Danilo Gallinari will likely get you anywhere between 25-35 Draftkings points, he’s too expensive for me as well. Dennis Schroeder has had back to back 40 point Draftkings game and if you’ve been riding him this long may as well keep it going here.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Dennis Schroeder

Deeper Value: Mario Hezonja, Rodney Hood, Kent Bazemore

GPP Sleeper: Hassan Whiteside, Dennis Schroeder

Houston Rockets @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 230.5

Vegas Spread: Hou -8.0

This game has the highest implied total on the slate so it’s a spot where I will certainly be looking to target some guys. From the Rockets it’s really the Russell Westbrook and James Harden show. Westbrook has actually been the better fantasy producer this season and is still cheaper than Harden, I’ll continue to play him until their prices even out. Clint Capela should be able to do whatever he pleases against Thomas Bryant and company. PJ Tucker is normally a guy I like playing when he needs to lock down a superstar, so he and Eric Gordon are more GPP plays than anything for me. From the Wizards, the main guy is Bradley Beal who has an elite 32.7% usage rate on the season, his price feels fair here and still has enough meat left on the bone to get you there in GPPs. I don’t love the matchup for Thomas Bryant against Capela so I will likely look for other options here. Rui Hachimura has played very well to start his career and feels too cheap here, he makes sense as a nice hybrid play to set yourself apart in cash tournaments.

5-star play: Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker, Rui Hachimura, Clint Capela

Deeper Value: Eric Gordon, Danuel House

GPP Sleeper: Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker, Thomas Bryant

Charlotte Hornets @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: Sac -7.0

Starting with the Hornets, PJ Washington has gotten thrown into big minutes for this team and has played pretty well. He’s got a huge ceiling here if he can get hot from three. That said, the Kings surprisingly rank first against opposing big men this season. I wish Terry Rozier’s price would come down just a little more and I would have a ton of interest in him, but due to the minute inconsistencies he’s more of a GPP play. Miles Bridges and Devonte’ Graham continue to play well and make sense in this matchup as well. Specifically Devonte’ Graham, he’s way too cheap for this matchup. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox has been all over the place this season which makes him more of a GPP play than anything, but he’s got a great matchup here, the exact same can be said for Buddy Hield. Richaun Holmes finally got 30 minutes last game and put up a massive 45 point Draftkings outing. I’ll go right back to the well with him here in a strong matchup with the Hornets.

5-star play: Devonte’ Graham, Richaun Holmes

4-star play: PJ Washington, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier, De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield

Deeper Value: Richaun Holmes, Nemanja Bjelica

GPP Sleeper: De’Aaron Fox, PJ Washington

Los Angeles Clippers @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Utah -1.5

Starting with the Clippers, this is an incredibly difficult matchup for them as the Jazz are one of the better defensive teams in the league. That said Kawhi Leonard doesn’t care who you are, he has an elite 37% usage rate on the season and is too cheap at under $9k here. I’ll wait for a better matchup to play guys like Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell however. Patrick Beverley is still interesting at his price tag. From the Jazz, Rudy Gobert finally broke out for a decent game against the Suns and should be able to continue that here against Ivica Zubac and JaMychal Green. Donovan Mitchell has a 29% usage rate on the season but will likely see Kawhi defense here, for that reason I’ll leave him for GPPs only. Lastly, Bojan Bogdanovic has put up big numbers for this team and makes a lot of sense as the last guy in your lineup if you fall in that price range.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Rudy Gobert

4-star play: Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, Bojan Bogdanovic

Deeper Value: Ivica Zubac

GPP Sleeper: Donovan Mitchell, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell

Phoenix Suns @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 229

Vegas Spread: GS -5.0

We end the night with a late-night hammer and has the second-highest implied total on the slate. Starting with the Suns, this is a spot where Devin Booker should be able to do whatever he wants, this Warriors team is playing zero defense this season. With a 28% usage rate and under $8k, he is one of my favorite players on the slate and would certainly make my core. Kelly Oubre continues to produce and this is a great matchup for him as well as he tries to continue his great play, the same can be said for Ricky Rubio. Frank Kaminsky has filled in very nicely for DeAndre Ayton so far, going for at least 27 Draftkings points since Ayton was suspended. That said, I don’t love the matchup with Draymond if he gets unlucky and draws him. From the Warriors, it’s Steph Curry, D’Angelo Russel, and Draymond Green that you want. They are all great plays on this slate as the Suns don’t guard anybody. Willie Cauley-Stein is expected to make his Warriors debut here, but we are not sure if he’ll be on a minute restriction or not. Regardless, hopefully we can finally dodge playing guys like Marquese Chriss. This is an awesome game to game stack for tournaments and the late slate.

5-star play: Steph Curry, D’Angelo Russell, Draymond Green, Devin Booker, Kelly Oubre

4-star play: Frank Kaminsky, Willie Cauley-Stein

Deeper Value: Omari Spellman, Glenn Robinson III

GPP Sleeper: Willie Cauley-Stein, Frank Kaminsky
