Full Court Press:
Golden State Warriors @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Vegas Total: 223
Vegas Spread: GS -1.0
This is the lone early game on the slate as the Warriors travel to Oklahoma City. Starting with the Warriors, Steph Curry had a bit of a let down game in the opener, but the usage was there at 35.7% and that’s kind of what I was chasing last game. I’m willing to go back to the well in this game and hoping that usage stays similar. D’Angelo Russell is the other guy on this team that really soaks up a bunch of usage. That said, he was only at 22% in the opener, but was able to get hot from three at times, which is kind of his game. Both Curry and Russell played around 30 minutes and scored 33 Draftkings points. It sounds like Kevon Looney won’t be with the team for this road trip so that opens up a lot of center/power forward minutes. I would expect Draymond Green to slide over and play a good amount of minutes at the five, while guys like Eric Paschall, Omari Spellman, and Marquese Chriss become very viable. Eric Paschall is my favorite of those three. From the Thunder, I’m going to continue to target Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, he’s one of my favorite young players in the league and in what should be an up-tempo matchup, I expect him to come out and try and build off of his 52 point Draftkings outing. Chris Paul looked brutal last game, but has now played 30 minutes in two straight games. He’s got a 23.1% usage rate on the season, I think he’s worth looking at on the showdown slate. Danilo Gallinari has been fairly solid, he’s been right around 30 Draftkings points in the first two games, he’s a fine option in both cash and GPP. Lastly, Dennis Schroeder and Steven Adams are GPP plays, I expect Adams to get a lot of Draymond defense.
5-star plays: Steph Curry, D’Angelo Russell, Eric Paschall
4-star plays: Draymond Green, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chris Paul, Danilo Gallinari
Deeper Value: Eric Pascall, Omari Spellman, Marquese Chriss
GPP Sleeper: Marquese Chriss
Brooklyn Nets @ Memphis Grizzlies
Vegas Total: 224
Vegas Spread: Bkn -4.5
This game kicks off Sunday’s main slate, we will start with the Nets. Kyrie Irving seems like he has hit his stride with the Nets and has performed very well in his first two games. He’s got an elite 37% usage rate on the season and I would expect that to regress but still stick in the mid-30’s for the near future. Caris LeVert’s minutes saw a hit in the second game of this season, but at his price I really don’t love him. The Research Station has DeAndre Jordan has the highest ranked point per dollar play on this team at 5.4. He’ll get to matchup with Jonas Valanciunas which isn’t a great matchup but could come thru at his price tag. Taurean Prince seems like he’ll get a good chunk of minutes in this rotation, going over 30 in the past two games. He’s not a terrible hybrid play. The rest of this lineup is full of GPP plays at best for me. Memphis draws the better matchup, as the Nets really don’t play a lot of defense. The Research Station loves Brandon Clarke here as a price per dollar guy at 6.8x, he’s seen at least 23 minutes in both games this season and has scored at least 20 Draftkings points in both of those. He is questionable for this game so be sure to watch that Breaking News Tab. Ja Morant is the most expensive piece on this team, but he just isn’t producing enough to warrant this price tag. That said, I think he does have the upside to go out there and put up a 50 burger so he’s a strict GPP play for me. Jaren Jackson is always a guy I’ll kind of fade for cash but love in GPP just because he is ALWAYS in foul trouble. This is a good matchup for him. I’ll wait until Jonas Valanciunas gets more minutes, but he’s an elite point per minute guy, so when he starts getting over 20 consistently I’ll be all over him.
5-star play: Kyrie Irving
4-star play: Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince, Jaren Jackson
Deeper Value: Brandon Clarke
GPP Sleeper: Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson

Miami Heat @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Vegas Total: 223.5
Vegas Spread: Min -6.5
Miami is coming off a big win against the Bucks without star player Jimmy Butler. The Heat will be without Butler again for this game, meaning we won’t get a #RevengeGame unfortunately. Justice Winslow has a 28% usage rate on the season with him out and is a guy I really like targeting here against a Twolves team that doesn’t play great defense. Tyler Herro has played 30 minutes in each of the first two games but is kind of struggling to produce fantasy wise. At $5.6k I think he’s priced too high for me to get there. We kind of knew with Hassan Whiteside out of town that Bam Adebayo would be able to step in nicely and he certainly has with a 1.23 fantasy point per minute. I’m not afraid of the matchup with Towns, I like Adebayo here. From the Timberwolves, I’m not sure what Draftkings is doing with Karl-Anthony Towns’ price tag, he put up 82 Draftkings points last game and saw his price fall $700. For a guy that is AVERAGING 77.9 Draftkings points per game this season, he’s an elite play here. I hate to say it, but I just don’t play Andrew Wiggins if I’m not multi-entering, plain and simple. Jeff Teague has struggled out of the gate and gets a pretty average matchup, I’ll wait until his minutes are consistent and he figures some things out. The rest of this Twolves team is GPP plays at best for me.
5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, Justice Winslow, Bam Adebayo
4-star play: Andrew Wiggins
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Tyler Herro, Jeff Teague, Andrew Wiggins
Portland Trail Blazers @ Dallas Mavericks
Vegas Total: 222
Vegas Spread: Dal -1.5
Starting with the Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard has had over 50 Draftkings points in each game this season and gets a nice matchup in this one. At $9.1k he feels too cheap, he’s a great point guard play. CJ McCollum has a 24.7% usage rate on the season and has struggled this season, unable to reach 30 Draftkings points in any game. I’m never really a big McCollum guy while Lillard is healthy, he’s a GPP play at best for me. The Research Station has Zach Collins as the highest point per dollar play on this team with a projected 5.6x production. Collins has played at least 30 minutes in each of his first two games, at his price point, I’m willing to go right back to the well here. From the Mavericks, Luka Doncic has a 30% usage rate on the season and is just destroying opposing defenses. This will be a fun matchup to watch against Lillard, that said it’s a more difficult one than he’s had to start the season. He’s still a great play. Kristaps Porzingis is still getting up to speed but is still producing. He’s a nice play in all formats, but I would lean GPP because of his price tag. Lastly, Maxi Kleber is a nice value play if you need to spend down at center or forward.
5-star play: Damian Lillard, Luka Doncic
4-star play: CJ McCollum, Zach Collins, Kristaps Porzingis, Maxi Kleber
Deeper Value: Maxi Kleber
GPP Sleeper: CJ McCollum, Kristaps Porzingis
Charlotte Hornets @ Los Angeles Lakers
Vegas Total: 215
Vegas Spread: LAL -13
Charlotte will head to Los Angeles to close this slate out. The Lakers have actually played very slow this season so this is a -8.5 pace downgrade for the Hornets. Go check out the pace of play numbers on the Research Station by the way!

That said, this is the lowest implied total on the slate so not ideal, but we move forward. From the Hornets, Terry Rozier has just a 18% usage rate on the season and is getting some inconsistent minutes. At his price tag I don’t think he’s worth the risk in cash games. With Cody Zeller expected back it could hurt PJ Washington a bit, but they will need both of these guys’ length and size against AD and LeBron so I would expect they both get good run and are solid plays. Miles Bridges has played well this season and is one of the few consistent pieces on this team, he’s a fine cash play. From the Lakers, we all know it’s the LeBron James and Anthony Davis show, they both have usage rates over 30% and are both great plays in this matchup against a Hornets team that plays very little defense. If I’m being honest, that’s really the only pieces I want from the Lakers, this game is just expected to be too slow for other pieces to have enough opportunity.
5-star play: Anthony Davis, LeBron James
4-star play: Cody Zeller, PJ Washington, Miles Bridges
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier
