Full Court Press:

Atlanta Hawks @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 221

Vegas Spread: Det -1.0

We’ve got a decent 3 game slate on tap here, but this game has a nice total opening at 221. The Hawks will bring their fast pace of play into Detroit, who had a nice win over the Pacers last night. Keep in mind they are on the second half of a back to back so their is a chance they come out a little flat. Keep your eye on breaking news in case they decide to rest some of their guys. This should be a close, high scoring game and has plenty of fantasy goodness. Drummond is coming off a 32 point, 23 rebound performance and he’ll be a 5 star play as long as Griffin is out. The Hawks don’t have anyone downlow that can stop him, and he could be in line for another 20-20 performance again tonight. Markieff Morris makes for a solid value play here as well, especially if he starts for Blake Griffin again. Reggie Jackson also makes for a solid GPP play, as he usually averages over 30 FPPG when Blake is out, but it’ll depend on whether or not Rose sits this game (Guessing they’ll be monitoring his minutes). If Rose is out, I like Jackson in this spot as Trae is turnover prone and also doesn’t play defense. Luke Kennard also makes for a decent GPP play as he’ll lead the 2nd unit along with Rose, Kennard is an even better play if Rose is out. On the other side of the ball, it’s going to be the Trae Young show as he should see a ton of minutes and this offense will flow through him. John Collins will be the second best option for the Hawks, he’s a GTD here though so keep an eye out there. If he is out, then I’ll have interest in Alex Len who can put up FPs when given the minutes. With Dedmon gone it should open up more minutes for him here and he’ll get a nice usage boost if Collins is out. Jabari Parker also makes for a deeper GPP play here, as he’ll look to get his career back on track after being injury riddled the past few years. However, he is far from safe. That’s about all the guys I have interest in from this game.

5-star plays: Andre Drummond, Trae Young

4-star plays: Markieff Morris, John Collins

Deeper Value: Markieff Morris, Jabari Parker, Derrick Rose

GPP Sleeper: Reggie Jackson, Alex Len

Milwaukee Bucks @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: 231.5

Vegas Spread: Hou -2.0

This game is going to be very competitive and very high scoring which = Fantasy Points! The obvious choices here are going to be Giannis and Harden as your 5 Star plays, and I think tonight is going to come down to picking the right superstar here in a fast paced matchup, as you likely won’t be able to afford both without really sacrificing elsewhere in your lines. I’d lead with Giannis here, as Harden will now have to compete with Westbrook for touches, and while he’ll still have those 80-90 point ceiling games, I think they’ll be fewer and far between this year with Westbrook soaking up a ton of usage as well. Westy is also in play here, but if you’re going to pay up I’d rather go for a guy like Giannis or Harden in this spot. Middleton also makes for an interesting play, as Brogdon is now gone from the Bucks, which frees up some extra usage for him. Lopez also gets a solid matchup here, as he’ll take Capela away from the basket which he is not comfortable with and what makes Lopez such a matchup issue against other bigs. For that same reason I’ll probably be fading Capela as he likely won’t get his normal rebounds and blocks down low. I think we’ll see Patty C slide into that Brogdon 6th man type roll for the Bucks here, as long as he doesn’t get outplayed by DiVincenzo, so he makes for some nice value to free up some salary. George Hill is also a salary saver here if Bledsoe is out, as he’ll slide into that starting PG role, Bledsoe is currently a GTD so keep an eye on news there as well. If he plays I have some interest in him as well, as we all know by now that Westbrook is basically just a swinging door on defense. Other salary saver options here would be Eric Gordon, but he is very scoring dependent so if his shot isn’t falling he can ruin your lineups really quick, so keep that in the back of your mind.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden

4-star play: Russell Westbrook, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Eric Bledsoe (if he plays)

Deeper Value: George Hill, Eric Gordon, Pat Connaughton

GPP Sleeper: George Hill, Pat Connaughton

Los Angeles Clippers @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: LAC -1.5

This should be a solid game as well, and hopefully the Warriors can keep it competitive (didn’t think I’d be saying that already this year!). Vegas seems to think it’ll be close, but with how the Clippers looked against the Lakers I’m not so sure of that. Kawhi is going to standout as your top play here, we all saw what he did to LeBrow (came up with that all by myself!) and company and there’s really no one on this Warriors roster that can stop him. Steph also gets a nice matchup here, as he’ll take on a ton more usage with KD gone and Klay likely out for the year. He can carry this team though, and I’m excited to see what he can do. For your mid tier range, Draymond is a solid play, but he’ll likely see a good amount of Kawhi as they won’t waste Kawhi’s D on the likes of Glenn Robinson, but Draymond doesn’t need to score to accumulate FPs as he does it all, he should still get his rebounds and assists even in a tough matchup. D’Angelo Russell also makes for an interesting play here, as he isn’t priced too high and should see a good amount of usage with this team. He has 50 FP potential given certain matchups and he has a good one today as he won’t have to deal with Pat Beverley as he’ll be occupied by Steph. Harrell makes for a solid play as well off the bench along with his running mate Sweet Lou as the Clippers will need both of them to score. Pat Bev makes for a decent salary saving option as he’ll be faced with guarding Steph, and he doesn’t necessarily need to score points with his defensive abilities. Moe Harkless surprised me last game, and if he has that same role, he’s likely your top value play on the slate. I like JaMychal Green for salary relief as well, as he’ll likely start and is still pretty cheap. Lastly, if you’re desperate for salary relief, Glenn Robinson III likely will draw the start for the Warriors, just keep in mind his ceiling isn’t that high as he isn’t a high FPPM type of player.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Steph Curry

4-star play: Draymond Green, D’Angelo Russell, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell

Deeper Value: Patrick Beverley, Moe Harkless, JaMychal Green,

GPP Sleeper: Moe Harkless, JaMychal Green, Glenn Robinson III
