Where to Begin
Preseason can be tough, but I will be here to guide our members each and every week for all the slates. First, I would like to say that a lot of DFS Army members had a lot of success in last weeks Hall Of Fame game. Congratulations to each and every one of our members who had a great kickoff to the NFL season. Second, I would like to say, this is the last week that I will be doing public articles. From here on out, Only DFS Army members will be able to read these. So do yourself the biggest favor and sign up now.
Thursday we will have a monster 11 game slate to play. This is great for you and even greater for our VIP members. 11 games is going to be tough to tackle for most, but we will have a lot of success. With more games, comes a bigger chance for error, this is a great week for cash as many people will be looking to scratch that NFL itch and make lineups that are not best suited for this week. Once again we do not want to play starters, most starters will play at most 2 or 3 drives if they even play at all.

Guides To Success
We simply want to play the players who will be on the field for the longest amount of time. This will put you in the best position to succeed on this slate as well as any preseason slate. I will break this down extensively in coaches notes so that our members know exactly who to target and who to avoid each week. As we saw in the HOF game, Benkert was in the best lineups and he played for nearly 3.5 quarters in that game. Playing time is huge and this is something that we need to pay close attention to.
Like always though, we want to make sure we are playing players who have the skill to perform. One other key thing to keep an eye on is training camp battles. These battles for potentially the last spot in that position is where a lot of money can be made. Coaches may tend to call more plays towards a certain situation because of this. This is to see if the players have what it takes to be on their 53 man roster. Teams are going to play pretty vanilla week 1, meaning it is going to be basic offense and defensive packages. This is the easiest way for coaches to evaluate players. Each week teams will implement more into their gameplan.
Finally, coaching tendencies. This is not something I am going to go too in-depth on, because it is for our members, However, you can see below this paragraph, we have tracked the past several seasons to see how many players each team has used at each position. Along with how well they played, even including a color-coded system for members to easily identify where coaches have gone in the past. My favorite part about our research station is the 4-year rankings tab. This shows the combined average of how well teams have done in each part of the game, along with each position and how many players were used in those positions. This gives our members the massive edge that we have over the field.

Week 1 Freebie Plays
After you read these quick plays, learn the basics of what makes preseason different than regular season. My NFL Preseason Primer covers the basics quickly!
Tom Savage- The Lions only have 3 QBs on their depth chart. So that right there is a good start for Savage to see some good playing time. Now, there is also a major WR battle going on for the last 2 spots on the roster when it comes to their receiving depth. So I fully expect for the Lions to plan on using a lot of passing plays in the first half when he is on the field.
TY Montgomery– Gase announced earlier in training camp that Montgomery would get a lot of reps. I expect him to be used in both the running and passing game here. He is looking to solidify the number 3 spot behind Bell and Powell. Montgomery makes for an easy dump-off target as well as a good back to find an open lane.
Mack Hollins– Hollins has been one of the preseasons GOATS for a couple of seasons now. I am expecting him and Sudfield to connect multiple times in this game. The Eagles have a lot of talent on that offense. Combing that with their offensive scheme is the main reason why Hollins has not become a starter on this team. Plus is lingering injuries hat he has had over the years. He is a great talent, who will look to make the most out of this preseason.
Jeremy Sprinkle– TE is one of the harder positions to nail down in the regular season. Now add preseason to that and it becomes a position where we are looking at just trying to get points from this spot. In the past few preseasons, we have had some amazing games from TEs. Derby and Hollister quickly come to my mind when thinking about great preseason TE performances. Sprinkle has been with the Redskins a few seasons now so he is familiar with the offense. He is in a good spot on the depth chart to play a decent amount and to play with a competent QB. I like his chances here to grab a few catches as well as possibly a red zone TD.
