DFS Madness's Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups for Draftkings - Apr. 6th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

This tier is a bit hard to break down without Embiid news, so make sure to keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates on him. I’ll operate under the assumption that he plays for now. He draws the best matchup of anyone in this group with a DvP% of 115.1% and has already dropped a 60 point fantasy game on the Bulls once this season. Even though I think they will be active, I’m not running to the press’s to play the big three from Milwaukee, it would be a little surprising to me if their minutes weren’t lessened a little bit here. With that said, Giannis Antetokounmpo is still a phenomenal play, as he is averaging 63 Draftkings points per game against the Nets this season. D’Angelo Russell provides immense upside here as he tries to get his team to the playoffs. The Bucks really struggle with the three-point line, his price is tough, but I like Russell here. Finally, Ben Simmons is only in play for me if Joel Embiid is ruled out.

UPADTED: Madness’s Tier One Rankings:

  1. Joel Embiid
  2. D’Angelo Russell
  3. Ben Simmons

Tier Two:

Again, this tier is highly dependent on news of Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler. If they are out, Tobias Harris becomes the obvious play here. But again, I’ll operate under the assumption that everyone is active, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. Tobias Harris draws the best matchup here as the Bulls have a DvP% of 125.6% which is through the roof. Anytime Jimmy Butler returns home to Chicago I have interest, he dropped nearly 40 fantasy points on them earlier this season. Of the two Bucks guys, I like Bledsoe a little more, he’s flashed more upside with Giannis on the court this season.

UPDATED: Madness’s Tier Two Rankings:

  1. Eric Bledsoe
  2. Khris Middleton
  3. Tobias Harris
  4. Jimmy Butler

Tier Three:

If Jimmy Butler is out, JJ Redick becomes the headliner of this tier for me. He would get all the shots he can handle against a G-League team. But, under the assumption that Butler plays, he is my second favorite play behind Brook Lopez. The Nets rank dead last in defense against opposing centers on the season, Lopez couldn’t ask for a better matchup. The Bucks on the other-hand really struggle to defend the three-point line which puts Caris LeVert in to play as well. Finally, Shaq Harrison has scored at least 27.5 Draftkings points in five straight games and will be a solid producer in this one.

Madness’s Tier Three Rankings:

  1. Brook Lopez
  2. JJ Redick
  3. Shaq Harrison
  4. Caris LeVert

Tier Four:

This tier is a bit of a mess but there are a few guys we can certainly target. I mentioned Milwaukee’s inability to guard the three-point line earlier, Joe Harris is one of my favorite plays here. As long as he can knock down his shots, they’ll be there for him. Jarrett Allen is also a fine play and has a solid floor if you want to play it safe here. If Embiid is out, I love Robin Lopez he should have no problem dealing with Jonah Bolden and Tobias Harris down low. Spencer Dinwiddie is a high upside GPP play that I like, don’t pair him with D’Angelo Russell though, they’re heavily negatively correlated. Finally, Walt Lemon Jr. has flashed some nice upside and I like him as a GPP play.

Madness’s Tier Four Rankings:

  1. Joe Harris
  2. Jarrett Allen
  3. Spencer Dinwiddie
  4. Walt Lemon Jr.
  5. Robin Lopez

Tier Five:

These last two tiers are going to be some of the ugliest tiers we’ve seen all season. The Bulls will be running out their G-League team which gives Jakkar Sampson a spot in the rotation. He has scored at least 34 Draftkings points in two straight games and is really the headliner of this tier. If there are guys ruled out for the Bucks I’ll have interest in guys like Pat Connaughton, DJ Wilson, and Sterling Brown, but for now, we can avoid them. Luwawu-Cabarrot will see a good chunk of minutes and is a solid play here. Jonah Bolden is only in play if Embiid sits. DeMarre Carroll will likely be stuck on Giannis all game which gives him a nice minutes floor, but a secondary play here nonetheless. Finally, Ryan Arcidiacono has seen his minutes dip which should say something about his play, no reason to go there.

Madness’s Tier Five Rankings:

  1. Jakkar Sampson
  2. Sterling Brown
  3. Pat Connaughton
  4. Luwawu-Cabarrot
  5. DJ Wilson
  6. Jonah Bolden
  7. DeMare Carrol
  8. Ryan Arcidiacono

Tier Six:

Yikes.

George Hill is my favorite play here and it’s really not close. The Bucks don’t have any reason to trot their starters out there for insane minutes, so look for Hill to get around 30 minutes here. Christiano Felicio doesn’t have huge upside and is really brutal to watch but if you’re looking for 15-20 fantasy points, he’s your man. Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic become interesting if Embiid sits, but if he plays we don’t need to go there. Rodions Kurucs, Hollis-Jefferson, and Sampson are all hard fades for me.

Madness’s Tier Six Rankings:

  1. George Hill
  2. Christiano Felicio
  3. Mike Scott
  4. Boban Marjanovic
