Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

The Domination Station has all of these guys projected to go for at least 50 points, so it’s hard to go wrong here. James Harden draws the best DvP% at 120.2%. While Russell Westbrook is projected to be the highest scoring of the tier. I’m very hesitant in playing James Harden here given the likely blowout, but it’s hard to ignore the 97 point fantasy game he dropped on the Knicks earlier this season with no Chris Paul. Both Russell Westbrook and Paul George grade out very similar for me, Westbrook probably has the higher ceiling, however. Karl-Anthony Towns dropped an insane 86.5 Draftkings points against the Heat earlier this season. Expecting a game like that again is a little over-ambitious, but he’s still a solid play here.
Madness’s Tier One Rankings:
- Russell Westbrook
- James Harden
- Karl-Anthony Towns
- Paul George
Tier Two:

The Domination Station has one guy from this tier projected for 50 fantasy points, that player is Nikola Vucevic. In three games against the Hawks, this season Nikola Vucevic is averaging 53.5 Draftkings points per game and will look to stay hot against them here. I like Vucevic here, but I expect Nikola Jokic to destroy Enes Kanter down low tonight, in a game that means a lot for both teams seeding purposes. Damian Lillard has struggled in this matchup this season, averaging less than 40 fantasy points per game. That number will likely go up with CJ McCollum still off the court, but still not a great matchup for Lillard. I don’t have a ton of interest in Andre Drummond unless Blake Griffin is ruled out if Griffin is out, Drummond becomes one of the better plays in this tier. Luka Doncic is questionable here, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. If he plays, he’s always got triple-double upside, but not someone I’m targeting given the matchup.
Madness’s Tier Two Rankings:
- Nikola Jokic
- Nikola Vucevic
- Damian Lillard
- Andre Drummond
- Luka Doncic

Tier Three:

One player that I’ll probably be avoiding here is Bradley Beal. Beal only played 22 minutes last game, this may be the start of the Wizards finally giving him some rest. For that reason, I’ll be avoiding him. I don’t see a way that the Cleveland/Golden State game stays close, and I feel like one of Durant or Curry will get rested here, but that’s just reckless speculation on my part. DeMarcus Cousins is already ruled out, but Durant and Curry likely won’t see the fourth quarter due to blowout, I’ll label them as GPP plays. The more I dig into this tier, the uglier it really is. Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert might be the best options, they both draw incredible matchups and are in good form. Kemba Walker is averaging 48 Draftkings points per game against the Raptors this season, he’s a solid GPP play.

Tier Four:

The Domination Station has LaMarcus Aldridge projected for the most points here by a very narrow margin, this whole tier is pretty tightly projected. LaMarcus Aldridge draws a pretty solid matchup. He gets a DvP% of 112.5%, in one game against the Spurs this season he scored 55.25 Draftkings points. We need to take that number with a grain of salt however, as DeMar DeRozan did not play in that game. Kyrie Irving has struggled in three matchups with the Pacers this season, averaging less than 35 Draftkings points per game. I think he can be avoided here. In two games against the Hornets this season, Kawhi Leonard is averaging 42 Draftkings points per game. I think we can find better spots tonight than Kawhi. Clint Capela has gone over 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games, he’s in the same boat as the other guys where the blowout is scary but makes sense as a play if you fall on him. Donovan Mitchell has been playing well and has gone for at least 45 fantasy points in three straight games, he will look to stay hot here. Trae Young has only averaged 32 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Magic this season, in a thirteen game slate I think he’s best served for GPPs.

Tier Five:

Most of you who read the Full Court Press religiously, know that I’ve had a bit of a man-crush on Thomas Bryant over the past week or so. I’m going to keep playing Bryant, as the season winds down the Wizards have committed to giving him minutes in order to see if they have anything in him. He has played at least 39 minutes in three of his last four games and has scored at least 47.5 Draftkings points in each of those games. DeMar DeRozan is a fine play for both cash and GPP, as the Wizards rank 23rd in defense against opposing shooting guards. The Domination Station has Andrew Wiggins and Buddy Hield projected for the lowest point totals here, but both have plenty of upside if you want to go there in GPP. Chris Paul is in the same boat as Harden and Capela, the blowout scares me, but it’s a great spot. Pascal Siakam, Aaron Gordon, and John Collins are all GPP plays here for me.

Tier Six:

This is another tightly contested tier in terms of a projection standpoint. One of my favorite plays is Lou Williams against the Lakers. He is averaging 42 Draftkings points per game against the Lakers this season, I expect him to stay hot here. De’Aaron Fox draws the best matchup on the team, as he gets a DvP% of 104.9%, he’s a fine play as well. Going back to the Clippers, Danilo Gallinari has also performed well against the lake show this season, I love him as a GPP play and is also playable in cash. Al Horford is projected for the most points here and is probably one of the safer plays, I have no issue with going with him. Myles Turner is a borderline cash game play, but certainly playable for GPPs. Finally, Mitchell Robinson, Rajon Rondo, and Elfrid Payton are all GPP flyers, with Robinson being the safest.
