DFS NBA Lineup Strategies - Blande's 6th Man - Draftkings and Fanduel Advice March 2nd

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande. I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.

We have another weekend slate on our hands. Remember to play light and protect your bankroll as crazy things are bound to happen. This article will focus solely on Fanduel. This does not mean they are not viable on Draftkings as well, just that you’ll have to figure out if the prices work for Draftkings. With that out of the way, let’s take a deep dive into what this slate has to offer off the bench.

CORE PLAYS

PG – Cory Joseph ($4,500): In the two games without Tyreke Evans and Sabonis, Joseph has put up 26.8 and 41 FDPs in 31 and 29 mins respectively. His minute totals are up, making him a fantastic option in what will be a nice matchup for him off the bench. His price makes him drop-score viable as well. He is a core all-format type of play today.

SG – Dwayne Wade ($6,400): The Heat are decimated by injuries. The main status we need to watch for is Goran Dragic. If Dragic misses this game, Wade is in line to play 30 minutes off the bench tonight, making him viable in all-formats. If Dragic somehow plays, Wade is still an option in Hybrid and GPP lineups in an excellent matchup.

SG – Dennis Schroder ($5,100): Paul George remains out, and the Thunder will need the scoring of Schroder here tonight. It helps that the Spurs are arguably the worst team in the league at defending guards, making this a fantastic spot for Schroder. He is an all-format pay here.

GPP PLAYS

SF – Derrick Jones Jr. ($3,500): With Hassan Whiteside, Kelly Olynyk and James Johnson all questionable, the Heat could find themselves very short of bodies in the frontcourt. In such a scenario, Derrick Jones Jr. will be called on to play some heavy minutes tonight. He could see 25-30 minutes at min-price. He is an excellent drop-score candidate here.

SF – Jae Crowder ($5,000): Crowder gets a nice matchup against the Bucks. He is in good form at the moment, hitting 26+ FDPs in 3 of his last 4 games, with two of those being over 30 FDPs. Crowder clearly has a high ceiling; however, his inconsistency limits him to a GPP only play.

PF – Richaun Holmes ($4,000): Holmes makes for an interesting play here tonight. In his last game against the Lakers, he broke out for 40.5 FDPs in just 26 minutes. He clearly has the upside to win you a GPP. The issue is just inconsistency in minutes, limiting him to a drop-score candidate and GPP only play.

PF – TJ Leaf ($3,900): In the two games without Sabonis, Leaf has gone for 21.9 and 27.6 FDPs in 16 and 21 minutes respectively. His minutes are trending upwards as is his production. The Magic play big, meaning Leaf will get an opportunity to play 20-25 minutes tonight. At his price and upside, he makes for a fantastic GPP play and drop-score option tonight.

Those are your Sixth men for today. Good luck out there today Army!
