DFS Madness's Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups on Draftkings - Mar. 9th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

The Domination Station has Karl-Anthony Towns and Giannis Antetokounmpo projected for nearly the same amount of fantasy points. I absolutely love both of them here, LeBron I believe we can avoid, however. The Lakers have said they’ll be limiting his minutes to around 28-32, giving him a bit of a capped ceiling. The Wizards rank 28th against opposing centers on the season and have nobody big enough and athletic enough to cover Towns. I love Towns in this tier. My second option would be Giannis, he is averaging an insane 1.7 fantasy points per minute on the season. He’s got 80-90 point upside, but I think Towns is the runaway winner in this tier.

The NBA Research Stationis my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with CeeGee and Ben you already know the time they’ve put into the “Sheets” and are extremely happy to provide them as apart of your DFS Army VIP Membership this year.

Tier Two:

Kyrie Irving is expected to play tonight, in a game that he should be pumped to play in. As always, Kyrie is a guy that I like to target in big games, although the Lakers aren’t exactly a playoff team, a matchup against LeBron is all Kyrie needs. In one matchup against the Lakers this season he scored 46 Draftkings points. Bradley Beal is easily the safest play in this tier and might even have the most upside. He has gone over 50 fantasy points in seven of his last ten games and is in one of the highest point totals of the season. He is likely my favorite play from this tier. Damian Lillard is coming off a 76 point fantasy game against the Thunder in which he played 47 minutes. In two matchups against the Suns, this season he has averaged 43 Draftkings points per game. On the other side of that game is Devin Booker, he draws the toughest matchup of this tier and struggled last time out against the Blazers. He’s a GPP only play for me.

Tier Three:

The Brooklyn and Atlanta game should be a fun one, it has a 237 projected total and a low spread. Trae Young has finally come back down to earth after setting the world on fire for about a week and a half. The Nets rank 23rd in defense against opposing point guards, so he is certainly in play here. John Collins draws the same matchup with the Nets, who rank 27th against opposing power forwards. He’s averaged 47 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Nets this season. Kemba Walker let the industry down last night in a phenomenal spot. Tonight he gets a much tougher matchup against Eric Bledsoe defense. However, a case can still be made, as the Bucks really struggle in defending the 3-point line. The Hawks rank 30th in defense against opposing point guards. D’Angelo Russell has averaged 45 Draftkings points per game in two matchups with them this season. Khris Middleton just doesn’t have the ceiling that the rest of these guys do when the Bucks are at full health, so I’ll avoid him unless someone from the Bucks sits.

Tier Four:

The Lakers and Boston game highlights this tier. These two teams have met once this year in which Al Horford struggled and Rajon Rondo and Jayson Tatum went over 40 fantasy points. However, Al Horford draws the best matchup, the Lakers rank 23rd in defense against opposing centers. My favorite play from this tier is probably Jusuf Nurkic, he draws a great matchup against the Suns. The Suns rank 27th in defense against opposing centers, and Nurkic has scored at least 44 fantasy points in two of his last three games. Eric Bledsoe also draws a good matchup, but he is normally one of the first ones to hit the bench if the game blows out, they’re currently 12 point favorites against the Hornets.

Tier Five:

This tier is full of a ton of good matchups, highlighted by the Research Station below:

The Domination Station has CJ McCollum projected for the most points out of this tier, and I have to agree. He draws a phenomenal matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns rank 29th against opposing shooting guards on the season and he should be able to get to the rim at ease. Targeting this Wizards and T-Wolves game is something I will look to take advantage of, as it has an astounding 241 projected total. Andrew Wiggins is someone who jumps out at me, he’s a little volatile for cash games but makes for an excellent GPP option. The same can be said for Bobby Portis and Jeremy Lamb. Trevor Ariza is probably the safest of the group, he’s going to see 30+ minutes in a face paced game. Nicolas Batum is going to see around 40 minutes in this game but may get tasked with trying to guard Giannis. Finally, Kelly Oubre has gone over 30 fantasy points in five straight games, it’s a bit of a tough matchup but you can certainly go there in tournaments.

Tier Six:

This tier is a bit starved for outstanding plays. If you want to go with the safe route, his name is Malcolm Brogdon. He has scored 30+ fantasy points in eight of his last ten games and shouldn’t have an issue getting there tonight. Tomas Satoransky is someone I like to play, as he fills up the stat sheet very nicely. He has gone for 30+ in three of his last four games. Spencer Dinwiddie draws the best matchup of the group, as the Hawks rank dead last against opposing point guards. He is coming off of a 40 point fantasy outing as well. Terry Rozier isn’t really in my player pool with Kyrie expected to play. Cody Zeller draws a tough matchup against the Bucks front-court. Brook Lopez should have no problem racking up some blocks here, the Hornets are full of guys that like to slash to the basket. He’s had at least four blocks in three of his last four games. Jabari Parker makes for an excellent GPP play, but I won’t go near him in cash games.
